6401  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin reach $ 3884 again? on: March 24, 2020, 11:59:03 PM
Hard to call it bearish when its moved so much but I will agree we are in no defined uptrend so expect pullbacks, profit taking and revision of these prices.    People will be looking for a top to the price I think and we have a natural level indicated by the largest bar on the chart recently I think:

So this whole area of sub 8000 is up for grabs, its hard to dismiss that level as possible having seen how far BTC surges at times as well as the sharp sell off possible also.  I dont doubt it for the meantime, each band is some significance in prior lows and high closing prices.
6000 is the marker for the weekly phase, positive momentum to the price.   I'll watch that area before I presume its going to pull back.

why wikipedia delete nyc page >?

They do that for alot of things, any time they dont believe it relates to a larger or significant presence in that sector or body of knowledge.   They delete profiles for people, for companies even valid subjects because they want to stick in as a paragraph on a larger page.
Me personally I'd rather the info was lodged on its own page and available, why they should cut back on simple text if its proving of reference I dont know.

When people are risk adverse, there will be a general contraction towards cash and towards bonds.  Certainty and defined payouts over equity involvement or any projected but unset revenue.   That will apply to crypto because we've progressed so far in usage that at least part of the monetary base for BTC or other major blockchains is related to wider monetary standards and global reserve currencies, expansion or contraction in that money according to fractional reserve will affect us.
When main markets sell off over days or in this case weeks expect some hot money to depart as those obligated to leveraged positions have no choice but to sell both good and bad positions to get their account level.    Gold took many big knocks to its base despite being a reserve asset and continued strong buying demand and so will every asset, any price be uneven to some extent in that surge of market volume.
I've had a portfolio setup to track news on Yahoo since at least the last big scare of '08 and their portal has always been a good overview on market mood, I'll give it a read.

Volatility is a bull market, I believe there is more ahead because we have departed from hard money standards so greatly during my lifetime; to quote Ben S. Bernanke 'Maybe this is one of those cases where you can’t go home again,'    I.e. QE cannot be reversed or normalised & we are transitioning away from the post war currency standards into something else, I dont believe it will all be crypto but some of it will and thats a large part of why this sector is expanding imo.

BlackGold
So why not stop by on our Discord server, and learn a bit more!

I joined your discord as its very easy way to follow any project.  I'm always interested in the contrast between the online crypto standards and the necessary commodity trade that will be required in future years once Dollar is no longer the main means of payment and global reserve currency status transfers to other systems of exchange.    Change brings volatility and opportunity so I've got an open mind to anything which addresses an expanding open playing field.
Only recent oil blockchain I can remember personally is the Petro PTR nonsense from centralised government of Venezuela, I never believe their heavy handed top down control would really benefit them but its a shame it never led into something superior just from the epic scale of an entire national system as they attempted.

Is the timing deliberate to capture this inflation adjusted low for Oil and gain a kickstart from the no doubt forthcoming rising price for energy over the next years.
6405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOLD - First 100% Liquid Stablecoin Backed by Gold on: March 24, 2020, 10:11:27 PM
Is anyone on this thread aware of Goldmoney and that large company used to allow the transfer of gold grams between users.   It wasnt exactly related to crypto but allowed the payment of BTC and various alt coins to be used.   However they shut down the business to all but the very largest holders with high minimum fees charged because of large amounts of red tape making the handling of gold for small customers unfeasible.
Their failure elevates the prospects for alternatives like this and I hope this project is alot more successful as gold will be vital to even the ordinary citizen over the next years as we witness how QE plays out and unwinds into inflation.

The fourth wave didn't go up above the 0.618 (that is, $12k)

Didnt close above that price maybe on weekly bars but its traded above 12k with some volume transacted.   The way that chart is drawn looks bullish to me, positive trend and short term trend that was negative passed.    I think BTC has more work to do but its been bullish since the low recently.

Its fine in Google chrome but you will always have a standard browser that comes with Windows.   Start > Run > Iexplore

Brings up an old version of internet explorer useful for this kind of testing.    Ctrl-alt-del and Task Manager also gives the File>Run box to execute notepad or iexplore etc.

Referral activity would reflect well on BTC itself with perhaps greater activity part of rising online activity due to this isolation strategy.

I posted ages ago while it was still very unlikely that Trump loses, never an absolute but the idea being can only likely lose 2nd term if economy retracts.   Nothing really political but that prospect is far more clear post virus for this year then previously.   So that raise the odds on the flip scenario, possible democratic party win.  I think its still the lesser probability but here you have the outlier odds, the 100 year storm or whatever.   Makes the event bet far more interesting vs odds I think.
I have no clear take on Biden tbh, just seems like people want Bernie for various reasons more then Biden is unpopular exactly.   Not sure it takes alot to move the weight on the scales here is all I'm saying, its all up for grabs.
6409  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin reach $ 3884 again? on: March 22, 2020, 11:13:03 PM
Revision of prior range is quite normal.   We rise but hit previous trends to selling and the weight of those with orders unfilled,  quite a few people want to trade and make an immediate gain but get caught out and become part of the resistance on the graph to higher pricing.
It takes time in short, thats before any wider effect and main markets themselves and so on.  6000 should be taken as resistance short term and I think we have the longer term levels to consider also.

Rough area to watch is 5600, if we can stay above then we can consider if it can move positively into the week.
6410  Economy / Speculation / Re: Peter Schiff speculation, bitcoin will never hit $50k on: March 22, 2020, 05:12:06 AM
Ordinarily people would run out of cash in any deflationary event.  This is all about that central bank policy and how no matter what they cannot allow a contraction to occur because it will wipe them out, such is the epic scale of debt in existence now.   They do require inflation is the ongoing theme, it does unwind and get out of control at some point but for the moment they will just ensure the QE matches current environment.

GOLD BUG SCHIFF CLINGS TO $2,000-$1,000 PREDICTION

That might happen in a normal play out but by Schiff's own judgement he knows inflation is the norm.   I think alot of it is his personal reckoning is off on technology and its usage for normal people being high.
We could see [Interest bank base rates] 10% rates if this virus was spreading in the 1970's.   Hong Kong had something very deadly like this back then but the whole world was different also.   5% even would be too high to handle right now so they have to do the opposite.    If that trajectory is correct, this idea of 1k or 2k for BTC is way off as a target though volatility can make every price register .
6411  Other / Meta / Re: [BitCoinTalk][COVID-19] Grim Reality on: March 22, 2020, 02:19:49 AM
I did read an advisory earlier on high alcohol spirits as drinks to combat Corona and its actually a danger because it lowers immune response.   As a cleaning agent if you spilled your drink over the table and even better set fire to it, thats great but drinking like smoking I suspect is not the best choice for improving % odds.
Oxygen supply or highly oxygenated drinks if thats such a thing, maybe or I was suggest Vit C drinks as its very easy to be low on this intake.

Statistically a widespread change to world would likely have some change to the forum but I think its going to be hard to guess how much.   The biggest deal is change in behaviour by everyone ill, survivor or uninfected and thats the biggest alteration.   So I thought OP was about to say more accounts created from a greater online population.    Also Corona can be passed and caught via paper money, surely this should be helping Crypto alot.   A side point is phones should be wiped clean regularly or its reducing benefits of washing hands.

On deaths, memento mori.  Unique active accounts 1% with another 0.1% to account for the forum membership in high risk groups who are a minority is my guess.        Overall dont be too down about this all imo, I'm quite certain the chances of dying in a car accident far out rate the dangers of this virus and people ignore this from familiarity hence ironically it becomes an ever greater danger.   Not sure thats a cheery note exactly but the biggest risks in life, the odds can be improved.
6412  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is 12K USD is the next target? on: March 21, 2020, 11:55:45 PM
Way too much work and volume in the way of any price objective before we get back to five digits.  4500 to 7500 is an area I want to see worked out first.    As we progress, it will be like rungs on a ladder and each with its own resistance and support band before we move to the next range.
6413  Economy / Reputation / Re: Roobet.com not paying on their mistakes on: March 21, 2020, 12:40:59 AM
Nifty, glad it got worked out.   I'd agree if the bet is taken it should pay out but also the company wants to limit their risk involved in any one game.  I can see why they'd not want to honor outlier 'errors' as such.
Its also very much the case that gambling is a leisure pursuit, its not open market risk where you have to get a lawyer to read through the prospectus before taking a gamble.  Its really advisable for any site to avoid leaving the customers feeling like the rules were tricky or deceptive even, obviously we all get sour enough from losing out the normal risk route nevermind overly intricate or small print type failings.

Didnt expect to go this high. Damn i early cashed out this time.

The multiples possible on that kind of game especially seem to run into the extremes, amazing and confusing because I dont know how thats possible.    Hell of a pay out if anyone were to catch such a thing, obviously its hard to be in that round and not back out early.  That is the beguiling fiddly bit to winning  but yep I've seen these rounds more then once.
Parabolic curve seems to be the part of why and all parabolic moves must eventually topple, that is the lesson and logic from chart actions.

I lost the screenshot but I wanted to point out the discord invite link to join Roobet server is not completing.    They tend to expire for a variety of reasons.

6415  Economy / Speculation / Re: we all were waiting for bitcoin halving, we got bitcoin price halving on: March 20, 2020, 11:52:05 PM
Many people cannot speculate, they have only so much capital to hold in crypto.   Leverage doesnt count because the market will always flush you out, either early by a personal stop or fully by margin calls as it registers lower.   The market naturally searches for points where people stop selling because 'all bets are off' then its hard ground, every market does this.

Just a quick look at weekly view though we aint closed yet, lots of range in just 3 weeks.    Though its wild its kept to prior historic trends, BTC often does sharp moves and I would guess we do see it again.  Thats why I always say roughly try to get the mood of long term involved BTC holders as they know par for the course.
Halvening my guess doesnt alter this year overall, no extreme move as a bet from me. I dont expect it too easy, I think years we develop over and every year is a slap in the face for those who thought BTC couldnt exist.  Low now is 8 day average and roughly that 200 week average, its a base that those bullish short term would hope to see kept.  Below 5500 we repeat action I guess but looking for 4.5k to 7.5k to be worked through which is  very volatile but reasonable in context to these last few weeks.
6416  Economy / Speculation / Re: The only way to identify the BOTTOM. on: March 20, 2020, 02:23:41 AM

Only using TA is one of the most ineffective trading strategies for bitcoin. The market is heavily manipulated by a small group of large controlling interests.

To no great surprise greed exists in the world and occurs in free markets, unless that phenomena manages to be different on every instance how is the examination of market history and statistics then invalid.     This is like the argument against capitalism because only the rich benefit, ignoring that capital is with the people not centralised as in many systems that deny power to the people.    Profit isnt negative, people trying to win trades easily is always going to be the case but it doesn't mean we cannot observe a trend in the market and gain from its occurrence and thats all TA is.
6417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CPU usage 0% but still staking on: March 19, 2020, 10:13:07 PM
The major feature to staking is that its an online system of very low requirements by its users, its really a million miles away from the normal system of mining.     I'm really a big fan of proof of staking and I did believe it would break through and propagate across crypto users far more by now.    Ultimately mining will always go onto industry to be centralised, refined via economies of scale and is far more conventional but staking is closer to real capitalism imo which is capital and means of production with the people.   Modern economies we all know are centralised, big banks and political statements with stimulus and so on, a world away from true capitalism.
Yes its low resources and very well may show 0%, CPU cycles can still clear light work in an idle state they are designed to save energy nowadays in this way.  Staking is far more eco friendly and dont let anyone ever try to argue pow has to be the system for crypto, I really dont think it is but we are a young sector still I guess.

6419  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOLD - First 100% Liquid Stablecoin Backed by Gold on: March 19, 2020, 06:45:26 PM
I have no doubt gold is rare and will continue to be for decades, I wouldn't put a fixed amount available as its part of the inner core makeup to the earth but its never going to be plentiful.   The reason I say that especially is world population growth and that natural demand or division of resources it creates in the gold price.   Industrialization has been a much bigger factor over the last hundreds to vastly increase the recovery rates possible in mining, like the more recent fracking in oil allowed; thats the big story.    Even with that effect I'm bullish on gold as we have been lax in that standard holding for money and value in national economies for so long and the average holding across the population of most nations is very low.

Quote
Dollar is not the only currency that rises today.
Dollar index or DXY is a measure of dollar strength vs various major national currencies.   So we are tending towards dollar rising above more speculative currencies, this does apply some pressure to gold and also crypto.  Its risen about 1% per day in the last couple days on top of the previous gains.
Long term we know the dollar has horrible flaws, politically compromised and its not likely to stay the global reserve hence the market will provide alternatives.  It would be nice to see this project as part of the macro economic effect, its going to happen anyway and its better we prepare for it.
6420  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES - Complete Blockchain ecosystem for a token economy on: March 19, 2020, 06:24:55 PM
The faster the move is made, the less people involved and so the greater the inaccuracy in the price and more likely we retrace those prices to revise and reset any level of support and resistance.   Its a general rule I would not presume as not being applicable to every market with humans and leverage and people being forced out of their positions without meaning to leave the trade altogether.    I like trading to some extent but with alt coins I need to hear on its fundamental utility and progress regardless of the price also, so always interested to hear details.
