Bump.
6402  Economy / Speculation / Re: $2000 anyone? on: May 14, 2017, 10:55:53 AM
It reach near, but it is still not reaching it, It may hit $2000 these month, but I doubt it to stay there. We are not sure about reaching $2000, especially $3000. It pumped enough these year I think.

It depends on how strong the demand for more coins remains. Don't forget that more and more people are holding Bitcoin as long term investment - they buy on exchange, and in most cases these coins get stored offline. Result of this is that the availability of tradable on-exchange coins will only decrease, and that throughout all major exchanges. If this continues, the price will even go up while the demand stays relatively on the same levels.

Core is losing hashpower and BU is gaining it.
BU isn't gaining anything - rebellious pools that signal BU do that for the fine reason of not letting Segwit activate, that's it. It has nothing to do with BU gaining support or whatever. If pools that signal support for BU really wanted, a hard fork would have been initiated already. Regardless of the risk, 51% is enough to do the job.

Segwit is simply and utterly DEAD - blocked on BTC, and useless/pumped/dumped LTC.  Core is against the wall, and those Blockstream investors must be screaming on those conference calls... Seems to be EXACTLY the time you might try to force people to adopt Segwit by spamming up the mempool.
Segwit isn't dead. You desperately try to force through your opinion without any factual information. Segwit by no means is a solution, or something close to that, but it's the best possible option at this point to go for. Everything else available is pure rubbish, you must see that as well, right?
6404  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-05-14]Markets Update: Bitcoin Price Cools Down After Slight Correction on: May 14, 2017, 09:43:27 AM
I'm hoping that we'll finally start seeing some altcoin blood soon, in which case we'll have a whole new stream of money into Bitcoin

I am hoping for that too, not directly because of the money shifting position from altcoins to Bitcoin, but mainly to get rid of those noobs that think Bitcoin will be surpassed by an altcoin as altcoins are gaining big time. Most people have the ability to differentiate a lowered overall market cap versus Bitcoin's adoption, but the noobs I am referring to can't. I am not a fan of any altcoin in particular, but I am kinda happy that Ethereum got pushed to the third position in market cap by Ripple. I simply don't like Ethereum and everything around how they have distributed their coins/tokens in a shady manner.
6405  Economy / Auctions / Re: Luxr.com on: May 14, 2017, 09:31:25 AM
We can use Escrow.com or Payoner Escrow no problem. No scam here.

I am not interested in those escrow services. Do you mind using an escrow from a reputable member of this forum, like OGNasty or Lauda? If yes, then I up my bid to $400 in BTC. If not, then please void my bid.
6406  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Earning with BTCs? on: May 13, 2017, 11:30:44 AM
If I share my strategy with him,I can easily help him get by 0.30-0.50 bitcoins profit per 3 bitcoin investment.
Mostly this is nonsense. If you have a certain profitable "strategy", why on earth would you share it with someone else? Doesn't make any sense... Selling such a profitable "strategy" would also be pointless since it will allow you to easily generate profit, and thus you won't need the few bucks that you would get for selling it. It reminds me of people requesting a loan here on this forum, so that they can use these funds in combination with their guaranteed profit making "strategy" to win big.

But one has to deal with the risks that come along with. That's how investments work.
In case of the "strategy" you're talking about, what are exactly the risks according to you?
6407  Economy / Auctions / Re: Luxr.com on: May 13, 2017, 11:10:51 AM
$350 in BTC through escrow.
6408  Economy / Speculation / Re: Warning: Bubble about to pop. on: May 13, 2017, 11:06:56 AM
i can even say miners are not supporting BU, they are just signalling it to disagree with Segwit.

BU support is indeed fake. If the pools that signal support for BU wants it to get activated (with a chain split as result), they have the power to do so by allocating enough hashpower to BU. But that's obviously not the case. Pools that aren't somewhat tied to WU and Ver, know that BU is pure trash. It's not even worth supporting, but as you also mentioned, they just signal BU support to not let Segwit activate because they don't see value in it. It's a nasty practice nonetheless.
6409  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Losing Faith in Bitcoin? on: May 13, 2017, 10:50:06 AM
Blame miners for not yet having activated Segwit. Blame miners for artificially choking the network with rubbish transactions to boost their income through fees. Blame miners for being a toxic entity in this whole system. Blame BU gangsters for contributing to this spam attack. Blame the people that take this spam attack far too serious. I seriously can't wait for the implementation of LN.
6410  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-05-13] Massive ransomware infection hits computers in 99 countries on: May 13, 2017, 09:45:04 AM
Don't worry.
It's just tax.
 Grin Grin Grin

Good one. Governments; If you don't pay the tax you owe us, we come and get it from you. Cheesy

Jokes aside, I have been seeing quite some news articles in the local media and the mainstream media channels regarding the recent flood of ransomware infections. One thing that gets me pissed off badly, is the fact that they blame Bitcoin for the increased number of ransomware attacks. It's beyond insane how stupid people can be. Blame the people that download rubbish, blame people that blindly click on any links, blame hospitals, universities, law enforcements, etc, for running outdated crap software. Blame the people, and not the tool - how difficult is that to understand?
6411  Economy / Speculation / Re: sub 1000 gone forever on: May 13, 2017, 09:25:31 AM
buyers will come in at 1100-1200 on next dip.  you will never again get the chance to buy a bitcoin for under 1k.

Yep, apart from future major negative news, sub-1000 is really gone... as anyone would buy huge quantity already when price is close to 1200. No chance it will go lower.

Only negative happening that has the potential to crash the price back to sub $1000 levels, is if the BU gangsters decide to initiate a fork at the 51% mark. But they aren't that stupid to jeopardize their entire operations at such a marginal network majority. I remember that Jihan Wu even threatened to do so, but of course, it's just an empty threat. I won't discard seeing sub $1000 levels again, but it's more and more becoming an unlikely thing.
6412  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin transaction fees fair? on: May 12, 2017, 10:45:05 PM
It's not a question of fair or unfair, but of Bitcoin design. Simply put, as the mining revenue from block discovery goes down (halvings) and the adoption grows, the other incentive for the miners to stay and process the transactions kicks in - fees.

Eventually speaking, you're right. But don't let yourself get blinded by how Bitcoin is set up, to even in the long run be beneficial for the miners. It's a piece of a cake for miners to create a fake form of block space scarcity by choking the network with rubbish transactions. Just think about it; what's the direct result of this? Right, it's people paying a higher fee in order to have their transaction included in the next few blocks.
6413  Economy / Speculation / Re: A price correction is happening now on: May 12, 2017, 10:02:00 PM
It's not really a correction yet. If a correction kicks in, I am more thinking at levels as $1300-$1400 as being the target bottom. I have mentioned it a few times already, but the price is more or less 20% overbought. It won't take long before we see this "premium" vanish to make place for a price more appropriate to the situation we are sitting in. If you're trying to benefit from current increase as a trader - you have done good by cashing out profits over the $1800 level. If you time it right, you'll have some nice buy back opportunities ahead of you. Wink
6414  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin ever drop to $1200-$1500 on: May 12, 2017, 11:40:02 AM
I think bitcoin price would not drop to even $1500 as we can see more countries accepting bitcoin payments and more people willing to buy more bitcoins. So it would be better if you buy bitcoins now itself.

$1500 isn't that far away. Especially if you look at how poor the buy support among exchanges is. It takes a relatively low number of coins to dump the price down significantly.

Example;

It takes 2900BTC to dump the price +$400 lower on Bitstamp.
It takes 3000BTC to dump the price down +$600 on GDAX (Coinbase).
Only difference is Bitfinex, but we know that people can't get their USD out. It takes 3700BTC to dump the price down +$200 there.
6415  Economy / Speculation / Re: Warning: Bubble about to pop. on: May 12, 2017, 11:02:26 AM
Oh look at that nice balloon deflating... who could have expected that?

It was just people cashing out profits, and rightfully so. But of course, you expected the price to sink further than that, right? You've been preaching about a popping bubble since we touched the $1000 level, can you officially confirm that you have been wrong? Say it -> I admit that I was wrong.
6416  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think bitcoin price will crash again in 2017? on: May 12, 2017, 10:37:02 AM
I prefer to talk about corrections instead of crashes. If you're purely referring to a crash, then it's mostly something negative that takes the price down significantly, with a high probability of it resulting in a bear market not long after that. We've been through that already after the MtGox debacle. People that were active back then know how long it took to get over that period. That's luckily not something we have to worry about anymore. Sentiment is fantastic, demand is increasing, certain countries might follow Japan where they legalize Bitcoin, etc. Aside from a correction here and there, we're likely to continue this long term UP pattern.
6417  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-05-12]While Bitcoin Price Hits Record Highs, Nearly 100,000 Transactions A on: May 12, 2017, 10:05:04 AM
It's obvious that there isn't anything to write about, and thus they will refert to the stacked mempools to write about. Another funny thing is that I get the impression that they want to make Bitcoin look bad by stating that this or that transaction hasn't been confirmed in 14 or so hours. SERIOUSLY, INCLUDE A PROPER FEE YOU PENNY PINCHERS!!! While people complain and complain, my transactions get confirmed directly by the next block. It's rare for me to wait till the second block. You know why? Because I add a network-situation-appropriate fee with all my transactions, that's why.
6418  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-05-12]Russia’s Largest Online Retailer Will Accept Bitcoin Despite Central on: May 12, 2017, 09:38:28 AM
I wonder what third party payment processor they will use to handle all Bitcoin related transactions. Ideal situation would be that they accept Bitcoin directly, or at least a certain part of their Bitcoin revenue, but that's too much to ask for considering the heavy fluctuations that Bitcoin experiences from time to time. Merchants need a constant flow of liquidity, and most importantly, they are not willing to take any risk of swallowing a hefty loss at the time the price goes down with 25% or so. But let's first see if them accepting Bitcoin becomes reality, because it's not fully certain yet.
6419  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price overvalued? Price Today: $1,827 on: May 11, 2017, 01:18:24 PM
Currently, I do believe that the price is overbought (MAX 20%). But in current circumstances it's more or less 'normal' since people are buying in panic (act now think later stuff). The price might go up further from this point, but I seriously believe that the $2000 level will form a heavy resistance barrier. In that regard, I believe that a relatively strong correction is imminent very soon. I am waiting for this shake-out to happen, because it will allow coins from weak hands to flow into stronger hands.
6420  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-05-11]Bundesbank Board Member Still Warns about Bitcoin’s Volatility on: May 11, 2017, 12:48:47 PM
Seriously, if you bought your coins at $500 and kept holding them till now, how much does this volatility matter? Absolutely ZERO. If you just buy Bitcoin to hold as long term investment/store of value, then this volatility shouldn't be a concern to you - volatility only matters to traders. These warnings from financial institutions are only meant to scare people off...
