Right, I've still got some merits to award, so I'll spend 10 minutes to see who I can find that I think deserves it. I've just looked at the beginners board, and I didn't open any threads, this was because of one or more reasons. The title didn't appeal to me. The Op was on my ignore list, so the thread is greyed out, The thread was too long and I'd read it before. The thread was about a topic that I didn't feel qualified to comment on. I'm off to the serious discussion and Ivory tower to see what's there. - no updates on those boards since my last visit. Now for the frog pond. I gave this guy a merit - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3109910.msg32136158#msg32136158The product is mildly interesting, but may not be practical, but I think it is useful for us to know how the commercial world is embracing cryptocurrencies. Nothing on any of the other boards that I looked at. I'll have another go later, so get posting with those great topics.

I've put you on ignore - so no merits from me ever.
I've done this for two reasons.
- You shouldn't beg for merit, it makes you look desperate and pathetic. - I hate your oversized bold text. It pollutes the board, and it is really an indiction that you don't have anything worthwhile to say, so you have to shout at us.

The first point is that it is on the alt boards, and I don't read those. That's just an explanation as to why I hadn't seen it. It is too long, and it appears to cover a variety of topics. It might be better to focus on one aspect, and to concentrate on the salient facts. Also, I foind you english hard to follow, and this was a bit of a deterrent, and I'm sorry, but I didn't read the bulk of the post.

He is the mayor of London, and that really doesn't include the City of London, which is a separate entity. The Lord Mayor of London should be the one to speak for the financial centre. As a known supporter of the immigation of terrorists into England, Khan should really be removed from office, rather than pretending he is some sort of important voice for British business. This is a quote from the City of London site. Charles Bowman has today been elected as the next Lord Mayor of the City of London. The elected head of the City of London Corporation, an Alderman and a senior partner with PwC, he will serve as a global ambassador for the UK-based financial and professional services industry from 10 November 2017 for a one year term. https://news.cityoflondon.gov.uk/new-lord-mayor-of-the-city-of-london-elected/

I thought that "mooning" meant showing your bottom ( ass ). Maybe that is what they mean.

Handing out merit is fucking hard dude, I go on a roll end up giving members plus a load but really struggle sifting the wheat from the chaff with the newbies and its a real shame
Newbies and Junior Members are the future lifeblood of the forum, so I believe it is important to encourage them to become valuable members, and not just spongers trying to scratch a bit of money by exploiting the forum. I think it is important to help to re-build the boards as well. I've started to look at the Serious discussion and Ivory Tower boards. I think they have great potential if members supported them a bit more.

Alternatively, you could leave the alts alone and learn about Bitcoin.
Bitcoin has become such a sophisticated system, that it is worth serious investigation as the unique product that it has become.

When I first hear about it, I thought the timing seemed a bit odd, and, on the face of it, Russia would seem to have more to lose by his death at this time, than they have to gain. If they really wanted to get rid of him, they could have faked an accident rather than risk world condemnation.
Some background is strating to be found. It seems that it may be a contract killer, and not a Russian agent that was the perpetrator. There is also evidence that Skripal was associated with the Clintons, and recent investigations by Donald Trump seem to have resulted in a number of accidental and other deaths of people who may have been in a position to give evidence. Russia is starting to become a major world commercial power, and many of their changes must be worrying for the Deep State. Russia is producing some of the healthiest food in the world which will mess up their eugenics programme, and their oil exports supporting the Petro-Yuan must be damaging the dollar. I'm sure you are aware of many other actions by Russia that are helping us to move towards world peace. The Deep State hates world peace, and it loves war and the profits and death that result from it.
So what do you think? Was it a Deep State incident to attempt to destabilise world peace?

Actually "to" and "too" are not really homophones. It is bad enunciation that makes them so, as "too" should be slightly longer when spoken. Correct enunciation of the word "colour" will include the "u", although it may be difficult to detect.
The word "donut" is an unfortunate Americanism, and such diminution makes it harder to realise the origin and meaning of words. A "doughnut" is a small cake made by frying a lump of sweetened dough.

why bump a thread that is over a month old? it had died.. you obviously want merits and wont get any behaving like that.
Big bumpers are great on girls, but they are annoying on the boards. Bumping old threads with useless comments is one of my pet peeves, so I've put him on ignore. I've still got merit to award, so he's lost out on the chance of getting any future merit from me.

Also, for me, I'd be more inclined to merit users I have seen frequently make good quality posts.
This is something that I've thought about, and I've started to give a merit to members who make a number of "useful" posts, but no single one that is outstanding. I feel that the steady support of reliable and honest members is as valuable, as that of the member who has the odd flash of brilliance.

Displaying quotes by ignored members is one of my pet annoyances. Especially qhen the member is being ignored for excessive formatting or large image inclusion.
That raises the possiblity of another exclusion - large images in quotes.

I like the concept of following members. It's not a feature that I use a lot, but I find it useful on some boards. It is also interesting to see the forum members who are following you. I think it is a useful feature, not just because it allows you to keep up with members with opinions you value, but because it allows you to check on the forum opinion about your posting behaviour.

I've seen so many threads complaining about posts being deleted, that it seems the mods have got a new thread Hoover. Thank you for cleaning up the boards. The difference is noticeable.

Are you sure it was a mod, and not the programme manager?

Oh man, change your way of thinking. Merit is not to be hunted. your current rankings do not limit you to contribute to forums. You will feel trapped forever in your own thoughts and not your rank.
Was it unfair that I gave you a merit for speaking the truth?

There is no merit to that suggestion. The merit system is working well, and it's time members learnt to live with it. yeah because you can get hero member rank without merit system.. then u can easily talk like this, I only need member rank to display my signature.

Which country is regulating Bitcoin transactions, and how are they doing it?
I thought it was just the exchanges ( the Bitcoin banks ) that were being considered for regulation.
|
|
|
The number of merits required to get membership upgrade increases as your membership grade increases which has the tendency to make higher members a bit more reluctant in giving out merits cos they need it also.
You need to reread the posts about the merit system. You need merit to remove the block on ranking up. The merits you earn stay with you, and you can't give them away. sMerit is the merit you can award, and if you give away all of your sMerit, it has no effect on your ranking potential, or the quantity of merit you have been awarded.
