Come on Zangelbert. You can't possibly believe everybody is going to get rich? I mean, sure, if bitcoin is a more efficient method of payment and finance in general, then it will benefit the general population, much like the internet itself has already provided many benefits to the economy. But it doesn't instantaneously transform everybody into millionairs.
Not instantly. I said financial freedom in a decade or two, and I mean by today's standards. Bitcoin is more than just frictionless payments and finance. It's a complete restructuring of the world and the elimination of many inefficiencies that held people back. The removal of those inefficiencies isn't just going to make sending money cheaper and some online goods available at a discount. It will enable whole new industries like the Internet has, but it goes far beyond even that. It fundamentally, radically decentralizes power. It blows away most of the borders that kept people from participating in the international division of labor. It thwarts all kind of oppression, especially economic oppression. It is "rat poison," as Charlie Munger inadvertently said, or as Chamath Palihapitiya called it, "schmuck insurance." Power to the people. Truly free markets, everywhere. Think China during Mao's reign versus now. That's the kind of change that's coming. Even for people who never invest in this bull market. You said not instantly , but you still stay by the word "everybody'? Common , that's an utopian never to be achieved dream. You're quoting Spaceman_Spiff, not me. I said "just about everyone." And this has already happened before: Just about everyone is wealthy by 1950 standards, and especially by pre-industrial, and most especially by feudal standards. One to two decades is a long time these days. I now he said that , but you didn't denied the word everyone , just the time frame. And I really don't get it how you can say everyone is wealthy now by the 1950 standards. Wha??? Even the beggars are bow wealthy by the feudal age standard? I 'm missing something or I haven't had enough coffee.

Well we know we are fucked. We just want to know the degree of fucked'ness. All I care about now is when the MPP chips will be sent.
Do you care if they use lube or not? I guess somewhere between April and next April.

Do you have a screenshot of them telling you that they are not releasing because you posted it on reddit? I mean wtf? Thats childish to say the least...
Yes, it was in an e-mail, via the support ticket system of localbitcoins, here it is: http://postimg.org/image/83durg4zf/ wording: "Please also note that we would have released the escrow for you already, if that reddit post would not have happened. Now it can take quite a time to get a peaceful resolution here." That "tiny" amount of BTC is worth 10k usd right now , that email response is making me think 10 times before using localbitcoins again.

Localbitcoins.com staff stated that they did not release the BTC from escrow, because I posted the case on reddit. As of now, my BTC have not been released from escrow.
Do you have a screenshot of them telling you that they are not releasing because you posted it on reddit? I mean wtf? Thats childish to say the least... +1 I think this is the dumbest excuse I have ever heard. If indeed they said this I think it's time to start avoiding them.

Out there are people on ebay, which pay atm 15000 usd for an knc miner. So many people want these machines.
They will pay double or treble also in dec jan feb aso.
And we have no other things in our burned brains then to kill the ponies, Eduardo and the hole hf company.
Can anyone make an thread for this kind of people. Shure, I also feel better when i hear something sometimes.
All will be nice
no more ponies! Vote for the 31. dec.
we have learned on day to install an printer driver.
p.s. I got 0.5 btc paid for this post.
So it would make then for hf to sell those on ebay and then refund from the profit the actual customers who waited months for their miners. And legally it's all gonna be alright!

that's the problem.. who will invest in infrastructure? the one who does that will have all the power because they control access to trade. if say i am a large supplier of apples.. all i'd need to do is provide some money and maybe allegiance to whoever the fuck owns the roads, and they will ensure my transporter will be safely escorted. that creates an advantage for me over my competitors. i will gain more money and power, and continue the process until i'm filthy rich and everyone else is poor. they are then economically disarmed.
let me reiterate.. herein lies my point: government is a problem, but the nature of man is THE problem. if you remove government, you still have the nature of man.. which is to dominate others.
Well , you found the problem why all system/societies will eventually crumble and fail. This damn ingredient called human is making a mess of everything.

Don't like this : "While bitcoins are not illegal in India, the Reserve Bank of India is “watching and learning about the developments in bitcoin” even though it has no intention of regulating it right now."
Don't like it at all.

Wow people are hating on china here... lol... if it wasn't for the chinese, we would not have cheap shoes:D
Actually I had a talked about this a few weeks ago in a store and it seemed all the shoes there (all types of them) were made in Bangladesh actually. The same misconception applies to pc parts , lots of them made in Malaysia or Philippines Taiwan etc. Don't worry , once the Chinese demand a wage increase most factories will move to the next cheap labor country.

I really don't understand why people must be FORCED to use this - i.e. get pools to enforce this rule.
Can someone answer why it MUST be done - and why the current system CAN'T be allowed to continue.
Why can't people have choice?
You CAN implement the option of accepting payments to choose to use a new address every time - so people who want that can have it.
But why are people trying to FORCE this as mandatory?
Seems like: "We know better, we will tell you what you should do and we want to force you to do it" Sounds very religious to me ...
No-one said "lets force everyone to accept this new culture against address re-use" What happens when your friendly neighbourhood tax barons decide they must FORCE you to use ID VERIFIED PUBLIC KEYS. Then what, Mr. Anti-Coercion? So , do you know where this is going to lead? Pools forcing people to "x" because government is planning "y". You open the door to pools abuse combined with government abuse , both having some stupid "reasons" to do so.

The real comparison is between EFTPOS "debit cards" 20 cents transaction fee versus Bitcoin "3% transaction fee". An average transaction is usually above $10, so bitcoin loses already.
I doubt bitcoin will work competitively unless we starve the miners and exchanges...
-----
Paypal 30 cents fee on international transfers.
Ebay fees don't count. If ebay started to accept bitcoins, expect their share of bitcoin fees to rise.
We should be looking at websites that use paypal for e-commerce.
Either way we need to see miners earn less fees and exchanges earn less fees. Furthermore, the ponzi element of bitcoin needs to be removed otherwise it will lose the mainstream audience.
Where did you get those 3%? bla bla bla i think i'm a genius Oh , god , just accept that you were wrong and transaction fees are 0.0001/kb and stop sprouting non-sense.
