Normally, it will boil down to privacy reasons, which may have any of a large array of subjacent motives. Say for example that you’ve got 20 BTCs on a given address, and want make a small purchase at a local store with BTC for 0,0009 BTCs (just under 50$). If you pay from that 20 BTC address, and the shop teller has access to seeing the underlying TX, he may well be able to see that you are in fact relatively wealthy, and own at least north of 1M$ in BTCs. He may also snoop through all your prior TXs, and learn something about your spending habits or incomes. Now that is a major privacy concern, especially if you reiterate your appearance at the shop (or the actual purchase TX ties you to a physical address, besides the BTC address), and though one my depict different strategies to make that more anonymous, one option is to use a Mixing Service. |

Yes, he’s trolling (as the profile’s posting history denotes + Trust comments). The issue might be that someone catches-on believing it’s true, sees an offer of the kind somewhere around, and foolishly goes head first for it.
One thing is to create awareness, even if common sense kick-in before anything else, and another is to play it down and mess around with it.

Merit does not count as a vouch for the post’s fitting to the forum rules, and remember than not only a post can be deleted, but also a thread, deleting all post within (out of which, some could have been merited). Likely, plagiarized posts that try to lure some merits by deception are amongst those most common reason for merited posts being deleted. I’ve received about 20 merits on later deleted posts, and sent at least 119 merits to posts that were eventually deleted. Overall, considering all merit history, I make it over 27K merits sent to deleted posts (3,06%). |

En el foro tenemos la visión claramente sesgada, sea por repetición del mensaje, o por creencia en el subyacente del mismo: Si no controlas las claves/llaves, no son tus monedas.
Eso lo vi rápidamente, y de hecho, prácticamente lo primero que hice es comprar un hardware wallet para cumplir con la máxima. Eso no quiere decir que no podamos tener algo en un Exchange: yo tengo algo, esencialmente por ser caso más caro sacarlo que dejarlo allí en ciertas criptomonedas, pero también puede suceder con Traders por ejemplo, que precisan tener parte accesible con celeridad y bajo las reglas de compra/venta que uno parametriza.
Ahora bien, intentando hacer un ejercicio de negación de Bitcointalk, y mirar alrededor, uno se plantea cuánta gente de su entorno está realmente capacitada para gestionar sus criptomonedas con todo lo que conlleva, y cuántos no serían capaces, o carecerían de interés en temas técnicos y de autogestión (y autoresponsabilidad por ende).
A ojo cubero, en mi caso, estimo que:
10% podría realizar una auto gestión responsable.
10% podría realizar una auto gestión irresponsable.
20% podría tener interés en bitcoin, pero no en su autogestión.
60% ni criptomonedas ni leches (puede que, si fuese muy muy sencillo, cambiase un porcentaje hacia el segmento anterior).
Mi entorno es sólo una minúscula muestra (nada extrapolable), que no apuntan hacia el mainstream …

Regulations are asymmetrical across countries, and even if some entity was willing to promote bitcoin through adds (quite expensive to do so, and normally one would to this under ROI parameters, which tend to be more of a corporate vision), some regulators are setting-up the barriers to down-play the scope of these possible options.
Spain for example is quickly drafting regulation that will give the CNMV (Market Values National Commission) the ability to veto or demand changes in marketing campaigns related to Cryptocurrency (especially those targeting mass media). That was probably triggered by the fact that a given exchange (Bit2Me) flooded Madrid with posters promoting bitcoin (and of course their business). Others are more open minded. Grayscale had a national tv campaign running past summer in the States, although its mentions to bitcoin were diluted and restricted to the last frames (amongst other cryptocurrencies).

It does seem that it is way better to keep him/they anonymous than to make it public. Now, what shines is the technology and it’s properties, and that is where trust is placed. Hypothetically (completely made up worst/bad case scenario), were the creators to be a government agency, it could disrupt the market value heavily, as do many of the fundamentals we see today. There’s probably no positive outcome to knowing it, which points to the current scenario probably as the best case scenario available. What would be heavily disruptive is another scenario, whereby the near to 1M BTCs are moved or sold. That is a massive amount, and one would hope for the associated keys to never surface. Fortunately, all the mad hatters that have surged have not been able to prove ownership, thus not bringing this scenario to life (so far). I actually hope it was all deliberately planned (anonymity and destroying keys to 1M BTCs). |

As some people have already mentioned, you can, provided you place them in the proper subboard within the language (not just on the root board of a given language), and the content created is comprehensible in that language. Often, on my local board for example, people detect Google Translated posts that enclose many grammar mistakes, and these may get reported and deleted (besides contravening rule: "27. Some do, if there is no content update to their thread, but wish to make it more visible (bumping is intended to place the thread at the top of the list, but it won’t always work as we’ll see in a moment). Others will do it in a more organic manner, by placing additional content in that post. Bumping is limited to once per 24 hours (and you’re not allowed to create multiple accounts to increase the frequency). Nevertheless, some boards (such as Services or the English Altcoin Ann boards) changed their allowed bumping method (11/09/2019: Bumping changes on some boards ). On the boards where this bumping method has been implemented, simply posting on the thread may not even move the thread any further to the top of the list. It will depend on the bumpers's base bump power (derived from Activity and earned Merits), and whether the bump is a Mini bump or a Super bump (see the prior referenced link for definition an mechanics). |

Este hilo no está mal para hacerte una idea con un carácter un tanto técnico e introduce más conceptos (en inglés): Master Private Key for Beginner. Mucha gente confunde ambos términos (clave privada y semilla), y llega a utilizarlos indistintamente. La esencia es que la semilla te permite controlar todas las direcciones de la wallet, mientras que una clave privada es un caso particular que, aunque derivado de la semilla hoy en día, te permite controlar una única dirección. Por razones obvias, ni la semilla, ni una clave privada, deben darse a conocer a terceros, dado que permite el acceso y el control de los bitcoins que están detrás de las direcciones. La semilla, además de ser representada por un mnemónico de 12 palabras, tambien puede ser de 24 palabras, como sucede por ejemplo con la hardware wallet Ledger. En UK, El banco NatWest ha anunciado que no prestará servicio a clientes comerciales (negocios) que acepten criptomonedas como parte de su actividad principal. HSBC ya a principios de año anunció que no aceptaría transferencias desde Exchanges y negocios afines. Lo anterior viene a exponer que la arbitrariedad de la relaciones entre cliente y banco en el ámbito cripto, puede devenir en situaciones taxativas de rechazo y, por tanto, de veto efectivo. Como vemos, hay de todo en el mundo, desde los bancos que apoyan invertir en cripto, a los que usan el socorrido pretexto de proteger al cliente para vetarlo (habiendo probablemente un subyacente técnico AML/coste/riesgo, tal y como cita el artículo abajo referenciado). Faceless is shameless. That’s one of the principals to remember, and although one may feel that interacting with other in a crypto social community may be enriching, one needs to be wary of the potential counterpart from the get-go.
On top of that, one needs to consider whether the community, or part of it’s leaders (so as to say) may have an agenda, which could lead to information bias, using less than desired objectivity, driving the collectiveness in a certain direction with intent. All in all, one needs to be a judge of character, and learn to discern what’s what.

Si es una versión antigua, normalmente se recomienda actualizar a una versión reciente (si lo haces, asegúrate de que la bajas y verificas a partir del sitio oficial). Por otro lado, también puedes intentar conectar a distintos servidores, a ver si sigue iterando en la misma problemática. Uno más para la lista – potencial por ahora, pero con mala pinta: Aunque algo desconocido para nosotros, el Exchange turco Thodex ha dejado colgados a más de 390k usuarios, los cuales presuntamente se han quedado sin acceso por ahora entre 2 y 10 mil millones de dólares en criptomonedas. SU CEO está aparentemente a la fuga, así que no tiene buena pinta. Es una situación en desarrollo, y mientras el Exchange se escuda en necesidades operacionales para paralizar la actividad durante cinco días, los usuarios están que arden y tremendamente preocupados.
