6461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How to recover BTC "Trans rejected ... Non-canonical signature: High S Value" on: June 01, 2016, 02:49:18 AM
Just restart bitcoind with the -zapwallettxes argument. This removes all of the transactions from the wallet and rescans from the beginning so that it will remove the unconfirmed transactions. You should then be able to respend those Bitcoin.
6462  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: please help me unconfirm blockchain on: June 01, 2016, 02:47:30 AM
update after nearly 3 days, my pending 0.04 btc of me in coinbase is disappearing  Huh
This is normal behavior. After a few days, the network "forgets" unconfirmed transactions due to the natural node restart cycle which clears the node's mempool which contains the unconfirmed transactions. If it is "forgotten", then you should see the Bitcoin back in your wallet and be able to resend it, but this time with a fee.
6463  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can I earn bitcoins by being a bitcoin node that process transactions? on: May 31, 2016, 12:10:32 PM
I predict that one day full-nodes will charge for the information they provide.

The information of the users that were connected to them?

That sounds very sinister.
No. Full nodes provide the entire blockhain and all transactions that they receive and accept. That is the information they provide, not the information if the nodes that connect to them.

Bump.
6466  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: stupid question how created blockhain? on: May 30, 2016, 11:30:18 PM
stupid me i thought blockchain.info was the main blockchain lol.
A lot of newbies make that mistake and it is very problematic that they do.

man what bitcoin wallet do you suggest not blockhain.info the best wallet or? what is your suggestion xapo#?
I suggest using a desktop wallet not an online one. I recommend that you use Electrum.
6467  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: How do I find xpub in Armory? on: May 30, 2016, 11:26:32 PM
xpub keys are BIP32 extended keys. Armory does not support BIP32 yet and thus does not produce these keys.
Well Armory development has stagnated recently due to ATI having issues and no longer developing armory. Goatpig is the only active developer now and he it's planning on adding BIP32 support as well as other improvements to make up for the technological gap that armory suffers.

Thanks for the info.  Wow isn't bip32 from 2012/2013?
6468  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: stupid question how created blockhain? on: May 30, 2016, 08:56:34 PM
well i thought blockchain was developed by anyone other than satoshi. by the way if blockchain was created by satoshi the who are replying to my emails which i am doing to blockchain support is it satoshi or blockchain team.i know it was not satoshi ;p
There is the Bitcoin blockchain and the service called blockchain.info, two entirely different things. You are emailing the service called blockchain.info which is completely different from the bitcoin blockchain.
6469  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum - Change address on: May 30, 2016, 06:28:23 PM
I think this is not the best place to ask this this is for technical support for bitcoin you can also try to move this in altcoin discussion or can you try go hear and ask about your problem https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1407495.480
What the hell are you talking about? Electrum is a wallet software for BITCOIN. It is not an altcoin. Please stop spamming.

Hi guys. I have money in change addresses I want to move it all to a single address in the wallet do I just sweep the keys?
Have had a look but read some conflicting info on this process to thought better best to ask.

thanks
You can just send the entire balance of your wallet to a single address and you generate from your wallet.
6470  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Confirmation time on: May 30, 2016, 05:56:42 PM
Hello, is there any progress being done with these ridiculous confirmations times?
Sure. Just pay a higher fee.

And yes there is work to increase scalability which in theory will allow more transactions to confirm and reduce fees by increasing block capacity. Segwit is being worked on as are hard forks to increase the block size limit.

But the only real way to guarantee that your transaction confirms in a timely manner is to pay a high enough fee.
6471  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BITCOIN.ORG questions about the platform. on: May 30, 2016, 03:33:34 PM
Hello!

I would like to ask some questions concerning your bitcoin platform.
There is no "your" here. There is no central governing body and there is no one person or group which controls Bitcoin.

First of all I could find any support tab, hence I need to post this here.
Because there is no one central group that owns and controls Bitcoin, there is also no support for anything. People can help you here, but there is no official support for Bitcoin, just support for software that uses it.

I'm representing one of the biggest affiliate program in the world and we would like to implement bitcoin payments in our offer. Therfore, we are looking for the best platform.
Best platform for what? There is only one Bitcoin. What kind of platform are you looking for.

For the moment we would like to get answers to the following questions:
- How the currencies are calculated, knowing that BitCoin values change rapidly is it all in Real Time?
The price of a Bitcoin is determined in the same manner that everything that is traded is determined, by supply and demand. This is exchange specific, like how the price of a stock or a foreign currency is specific to the exchange on which you are trading. The price changes rapidly because people are trading at different prices and the prices are reflected as these trades happen. The same happens with stocks and currency trading.

- How does the ewallet work?
What ewallet? There is no one Bitcoin wallet, and there is no "official" Bitcoin wallet nor is there an "official" website.

Can we safely submit money to the wallet (our account) in any currency?
It depends on what wallet you are using. If you use an online wallet with an exchange, then you may be able to have different currencies. However, the vast majority of desktop wallets only support one currency. For Bitcoin, they support Bitcoin. For other altcoins, they only support that altcoin.

How long does it take to see the money in the wallet (is it instant)?
It depends on the wallet. If the transaction is unconfirmed, some wallets may not show it. Other wallets will. For the money to become secure enough to be spendable, you will have to wait for at least 1 confirmation, and that usually takes about 10 minutes.

- How does the payout process look like? We are interested in multiple payouts to different partners.
Payout process for what? To pay Bitcoin to multiple people, you open the wallet software and enter the Bitcoin addresses for all of the people you want to pay and the corresponding amounts and the software will create the transaction for you. Usually you will have to pay a large transaction fee so that the transaction will confirm quickly.

Could someone please thoroughly elaborate on these questions and answer ASAP. In mean time, I will prepare some other questions.

I highly suggest that you try to do some research to understand Bitcoin. You can read some of the stuff at https://bitcoin.org and at the Bitcoin wiki: https://bitcoin.it. These are all good sources of information. If you ask more questions, please be as specific as possible.

What prevents me from spoofing my bandwidth usage by connecting with another device that appears like it isn't mine but actually is? Then I use a lot of bandwidth and get rewarded a lot of coins.
6473  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Reindexing blocks on disk on: May 30, 2016, 04:45:23 AM
I still don't understand which address should I use. One that I've sent bitcoins? Received?
?¿
Any address that contains bitcoin and any address that you want to have in your new wallet.

Isn't there another way to just export the wallet.dat file and move it into another wallet without doing that dumpprivkey?
No there is not. The only software which is capable of importing the wallet.dat file is Bitcoin Core.
6474  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Reindexing blocks on disk on: May 30, 2016, 01:45:52 AM
How do I generate that address for the dumpprivkey command?
That address is just any address that you have used that has Bitcoin that you want in Electrum. If you don't have any such addresses, then exporting the private keys is not necessary as you have not used any addresses.
6475  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Reindexing blocks on disk on: May 30, 2016, 01:35:56 AM
I want to move my wallet to Electrum, I'm tired of Bitcoin Core. It's too slow.
Is it possible to do that without waiting for the reindex to be finished?
Yes.

Start Bitcoin Core. Go to Help > Debug Window > Console. In the text box at the bottom type
Code:
dumpprivkey <address>
Where <address> is the address which you want the private key of. The output should be in black and be a single string that starts with a 5, K, or L. This is your private key.

DO NOT SHARE YOUR PRIVATE KEY WITH ANYONE. ANYONE WHO HAS YOUR PRIVATE KEYS WILL BE ABLE TO SPEND YOUR BITCOIN.

Do that for all of your addresses.

Then start Electrum. You can either import your private keys or sweep them. Importing means you will still use the same addresses, sweeping will simply move all of the Bitcoin to an address in the Electrum wallet. I recommend you sweep.

To sweep, create a new normal Electrum wallet. Make sure you record the wallet seed. Then when the wallet is made, go to Wallet > Private Keys > Sweep. Enter all of your private keys, one on each line, and the wallet will automatically sweep the Bitcoin into your wallet.

To import the private keys, go to create a new wallet but instead choose "restore a wallet or import keys". Click next. In the box, enter your private keys, one on each line. Follow the rest of the instructions and you will have created a new Electrum wallet with your keys imported.
6476  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Reindexing blocks on disk on: May 30, 2016, 01:18:38 AM
Is there a way to bypass this reindexing thing?
Like, moving the wallet to Electrum or something like that.
I've been waiting like 2 days for the reindexing finishing.
It hog all my PC's resources.

There is no way to bypass reindexing. It is a part of how Bitcoin Core works. You can move to another wallet, but the wallet files are not compatible so you will have to export the private keys and import them elsewhere.

So I have to wait until it finishes reindexing by slowing down my computer?
I'm 35 weeks behind and it seems that it doesn't progress at all...
If you want to continue to use Bitcoin Core, then yes, you will have to wait for it to finish.

6479  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Clearing the FUD around segwit on: May 29, 2016, 08:11:36 PM
Based upon the discussion that the Core Devs have been having in the IRC, a release containing segwit will be out before the halving. Whether it is deployed before the halving is up to the miners.
Any links to those IRC discussions? We are talking about a potential release within the next 6 weeks.
Somewhere around here: https://botbot.me/freenode/bitcoin-core-dev/2016-05-26/?msg=66783313&page=3

They want to get Segwit merged in before the 0.13 feature freeze which is scheduled for 6/16 (https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/issues/7679). If that gets merged, the backport to 0.12 should be around the same time. The release should then be out just before the halving.
6480  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk mobile friendly? on: May 29, 2016, 07:28:56 PM
As of now, no. The new forum software will be mobile friendly though. There are also a few apps for the forum but they generally don't work very well. I made one a while back and you can find it in the project development section somewhere, but I have stopped working on it.
