6482  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting: how much knowledge is too much on: August 26, 2020, 09:33:52 AM
I dont about how others bet, but analyzing everything seems to me like an overkill. People like that are seriously making money, and made gambling as an online source of income, probably.
But for me, my strategy is simple know the game, teams, and players. Odds is not 100% accurate to predict the winner. I sometimes, even go by instinct and just put money on team that looks strong especially when their in a winstreak.
Yes you're right, unlike casino gambling games, when a sport team (or a single player) is in a winning streak, the chances to win the next contest increase.
Choosing a team with a winning streak will help win the bet and must be helped by your conscience to convince it, and besides that you also have to have accurate knowledge and information about the players, strategies and players who will play or other things and to make sure your choice is right.
Thats why sportsbetting is only for those who really love the game they will be betting for because this needs knowledge about everything from players, teams and their performance to each others when they played.
though there are some called Beginners luck yet this will not long and losses will face you then.
never Bet in any sportsbet that you don't have idea so better study first and take time, never rush and never bet too much at first, start with smaller bets and sooner you will grow,But also always have self control if you don't wanna lose everything.
Luck is not for beginners only, and it can last more than people generally think.
Someone winning at a gambling game where he had only 1/1000 chances to win has exactly the same luck as someone winning 10 times in a row at a game with 1/2 winning chances. (1/2)10
6483  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greatest Gambling Losers on: August 25, 2020, 10:11:04 PM
woah really? these people really can't do anything with their money or maybe they just have so much money that they doesn't care how much their losing.
Be careful bro when you are in the losing spiral you no longer pay attention to the amounts you're gambling and what they are worth. You are just trying to win back your lost funds whatever it takes.
Its because they gamble using the borrowed money so they have no more choice but to keep playing so they can get back the money they’ve already loss, unfortunately very few gamblers was able to win it back.

Losing the whole capital is a total mess, that only means you don’t have self control and you gamble so much. There’s a lot of losing story of a gambler, most of them are depressed that can lead to suicide if no one helps them. If you’re a new gambler you must consider this and learn to control yourself.
Yes when you gamble with borrowed money it's certainly even worse because you've no choice as you said but be careful even if you're playing with your own funds you can also lose control and the sense of the value of money. It could happen after having made big gains, you think you can easily win money so you don't pay attention anymore to what you're gambling...
6484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How fair is Provably Fair? Do you verify every bet as a gambler? on: August 25, 2020, 07:53:14 PM
This was the best explaination about server seed, client seed and nonce ive seen since i was wondering what this means when i was playing long time ago.

What i did then was always changing the server seed every bet, that was my strategy but dont have knowledge how it works. I even create new account just to change my luck then, it gives me a fresh new start.  Smiley
I think it's a good strategy to set your own client seed each time, because instead you've to trust the game code and/or your browser randomness... But more importantly, it's funnier  Cheesy
6485  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: August 25, 2020, 07:36:03 PM
~snip~
If PSG had scored the first goal they would probably be european champions now.

Why are you so sure PSG will win if he scores the first goal? There are many possibilities in the match, anything can happen. But we have seen the final result, Munich deserves to be a champion. They appear dominant. Just look at the goal from Munich, not a penalty or luck, it was born of good cooperation. Munich did better that day so they won.
yes I agree, the goal was totally fair, all the PSG defense was there, it wasn't even a counterattack, Munich was just better than Paris.

HELP ! on: August 25, 2020, 02:53:32 PM

sethdseed ( "newkeypool" "seed" )

Set or generate a new HD wallet seed. Non-HD wallets will not be upgraded to being a HD wallet. Wallets that are already
HD will have a new HD seed set so that new keys added to the keypool will be derived from this new seed.

Note that you will need to MAKE A NEW BACKUP of your wallet after setting the HD wallet seed.

Arguments:
1. "newkeypool"         (boolean, optional, default=true) Whether to flush old unused addresses, including change addresses, from the keypool and regenerate it.
If true, the next address from getnewaddress and change address from getrawchangeaddress will be from this new seed.
If false, addresses (including change addresses if the wallet already had HD Chain Split enabled) from the existing
keypool will be used until it has been depleted.
2. "seed"               (string, optional) The WIF private key to use as the new HD seed; if not provided a random seed will be used.
The seed value can be retrieved using the dumpwallet command. It is the private key marked hdseed=1

Examples:
> bitcoin-cli sethdseed
> bitcoin-cli sethdseed false
> bitcoin-cli sethdseed true "wifkey"
> curl --user myusername --data-binary '{"jsonrpc": "1.0", "id":"curltest", "method": "sethdseed", "params": [true, "wifkey"] }' -H 'content-type: text/plain;' http://127.0.0.1:8332/

Huh
Where exactly please?
In which field?
Are you sure about that?
Yes. You can enter the master private key at: https://iancoleman.io/bip39/.

Scroll to BIP32 root key and paste your xpriv there. After that, scroll a bit further to change your derivation path to suit your needs.
Yes you're right it works...  Wink
But the adresses are all in legacy format while I have legacy and bech32 adresses in my wallet.
The private keys seem to be the same at least, so how can I display the adresses in the bech32 format please?
Choose BIP141 at the derivation path part, choose P2WPKH.
Yes this way I find them. ✔️

I'm assuming your wallet isn't using BIP84 since it's generating both? If it doesn't work out for you, try BIP84.
I don't know, it's just the bitcoincore wallet

J'ai dit des conneries sur la seed, il  n'y en a pas sur bitcoin-core, désolé.

quelques pistes que tu as peut-être explorées:

- https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/59699/opening-an-old-wallet-dat
- https://github.com/akx/walletool

6499  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: VR online casino games take gambling to the new level 🚀 on: August 25, 2020, 06:06:08 AM
The cost is the major factor and most gamblers will not like to play in a VR casino. Also it will require a high speed internet connection if you need to connected to a VR based online casino. However, in the start only rich gamblers will enjoy it but with time, it will also become cheap and people will be moving to virtual reality games.
Most of people don't need to play in real 3D, they will enjoy the experience even if it is on a screen.
I'm not sure you need a very high speed internet connection for that, but you'll need to install a software, like for the Diamond Casino of GTA.

Huh
