6501  Economy / Economics / Re: Putin warns of financial crisis the world ‘has not yet seen’ on: September 20, 2018, 12:00:01 PM
Vladimir Putin talking against protectionsim? This makes me laugh. Grin
Russia has a protestionist trading policy since the USSR collapse. They just export oil, gas, guns, grain and precious metals and always had a very restricted import, due to the high import tariffs.
I guess that the US sanctions still have a negative impact over Russia.
6502  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do Not Trade By The News, Follow The Price Action on: September 20, 2018, 05:53:13 AM
When it comes to crypto, most of the news are fake anyway.I'm currently searching thru Google News and reading some news about bitcoin and I can't figure out how the price will react. The current Core version update is a very good news, but a Japanese exchange called Zaif was hacked and the UK treasury comittee is about to regulate crypto in the UK.I guess that all the good news are equal to all the bad news about crypto. Grin
6503  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is anonymity the future for bitcoin??? on: September 20, 2018, 05:34:16 AM
Anonymity is the future of altcoins like monero. The future of bitcoin is in the mainstream adoption and having more people, corporations and countries recognising it as a reliable payment option and a good store of value.
Thinking that bitcoin transactions are anonymous is:
1.Wrong.
2.Helps for spreading FUD.
6504  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: THE IMPORTANCE OF THE MANY EXCHANGES on: September 19, 2018, 11:21:18 AM
It's good that the amount of cryptocurrency exchange platfroms is rising, but most of the crypto exchanges (the small ones)use the same programming script/template.That means that they are exactly the same and they offer little to no added value,in terms of customer services or transaction fees.
I don't know why would somebody choose a small crypto exchange instead of Poloniex or Bittrex?
6505  Economy / Economics / Re: We can totally eradicate poverty if we TRULY want to. on: September 19, 2018, 11:14:41 AM
Poverty will end only ,if all laziness, procrastination, ignorance and daydreaming ends.
Some people just want to work more and earn more. The distribution of wealth will take resources from them and give money to the lazy, ignorant people. Is this fair?
The people, who are extremely rich, due to breaking the law should be punished. This is the only justice I know.
6506  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would you say is Bitcoin's biggest weakness as an industry? on: September 19, 2018, 11:08:25 AM
1.The amount of money and power concentrated in a small group of crypto whales.
2.All the dirty tricks used by the crypto exchange platforms to scam their users and to manipulate trading volume.
3.The massive amount of ignorance outside the crypto industry.
4.All altcoins/ICOs.
6507  Economy / Economics / Re: $414 Billion Alibaba’s Jack Ma: Blockchain Needs to Target Manufacturing Industr on: September 19, 2018, 05:53:47 AM
There were some altcoins/tokens that were targeting the manifacturing/transportation industries.I remember that VECHAIN was one of them. The difficult part is that those industries aren't very open to innovations, beacuse of the high barrier of entry.Any blockchain innovation would require huge investments,in order to be implemented successfully.
6508  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hello BCH: 2.26 MB & we keep 1MB on: September 19, 2018, 05:49:55 AM
I don't think that Roger Ver cares about the BCH block size. It's all about the money, not about the technology.
BCH can still make him a few millions worth of USD,despite the fact that bitcoin cash is a shitty altcoin.
The "scaling" debate is now over and bitcoin core won. Grin
6509  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you agree with me ? on: September 19, 2018, 05:43:07 AM
no i disagree because so far all the things that were actually launched based on blockchain technology have mostly been hot air and was done for fundraising purposes not to use the benefits of the blockchain technology or even to improve it in any way.

not to mention that bitcoin has nothing to do with any of these! bitcoin is just a currency, it is not creating any market or anything like job.

I guess that by "bitcoin",the OP means blockchain+smart contracts(even though smart contracts aren't tied with bitcoin). The crypto industry created some jobs related to online wallets and cryptocurrency exchange platforms maintenance. The full economical and technologic potential ot the blockchain technologies is still undiscovered.
6510  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: During these hard times, it's time for self improvement on: September 18, 2018, 11:47:21 AM
Quote
What we need is scaling solutions

Scaling solutions?Do you mean Bitcoin Cash,Segwit and Lighting Network? Those are the "scaling solutions" and I don't think that we actually need any of them.
No,the times for bitcoin are not "hard".Bitcoin is going just fine. The fact that the btc price is far under the ATH doesn't mean that bitcoin is in a crysis.
6511  Economy / Economics / Re: Politics, Economics, and Cryptocurrencies, who will lead the crypto market? on: September 18, 2018, 05:18:02 AM
No country should  become the "capital" of crypto, because crypto will become more centralized (and dependent from a government) than ever.We all remember last year, when China was dominating the cryptocurrency mining and trading.Threads asking questions like "is China manipulating all crypto prices?" were all over the place. We don't want this to happen again.
6512  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the hype starting? on: September 16, 2018, 11:18:16 AM
Why do you need hype?We all need stable price growth. The hype itself can't help for that.It would just create a short term price bubble that will burst after one month.
I really want the bitcoin price to go under 6000 USD.A cheaper bitcoin price will force more people to buy because of the FOMO and they will be in a better position, when the price skyrockets.
6513  Economy / Economics / Re: If i could manage the government! on: September 16, 2018, 11:14:46 AM
IF i had the chance to managed a certain government i would really apply blockchain technology and give their budget in a form of cryptocurrency or digital currency that could be used as a form of payment and could even trade to fiat money. In this way we could eradicate the corruption because the public could be aware on where the budget of the people coming from taxes will going through. Yet, until now the government is not interested on cryptocurrency or if they are they are not willing also to investigate and checked how cryptocurrency works and how could it will be applied on their system. They just want their business to continue as usual doing ghost project? I do not know maybe!

If could manage a government, I would use 10% of the tax revenue to buy bitcoin. Grin
I would change the operating systems of all govenment clerk's computers from Windows and Mac to Linux.
I would upload all the paperwork into the blockchain and fire all the lazy bureaucrats. Grin
6514  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you still invest in Crypto related projects, if you know it was a scam? on: September 16, 2018, 11:10:41 AM
A few years ago, we had the "Cloud mining" phenomenon and most people were warned that it was a Ponzi scheme, but they

still invested. A Ponzi scheme is a form of fraud in which a purported businessman lures investors and pays profits to earlier

investors using funds obtained from newer investors. Source : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ponzi_scheme

I still see some of those types of schemes around, so I was wondering if these schemes has changed their business model or

if people are knowingly investing in these schemes.  Huh

I know Ponzi schemes are legal in some countries, but most of these schemes are advertised globally, so they should not be

legal in countries where they are classified as being illegal.  Undecided

Would you still invest in something, even if you know it is a scam?

It's not so easy to find a ponzi scheme. Most ponzi schemes hide behind terms, such as "MLM business" or "affiliate marketing".You know that all the only people, who lose money from a ponzi scheme are the ones that invest in the end of the scheme. The early investors can still get some profits. That's why there are still people, who believe they can make some easy money with this.
No,I would never invest in a project, that is a well known scam.
6515  Economy / Economics / Re: Poor Internet Services Could Cause Hamper Crypto Adoption in Africa on: September 16, 2018, 05:09:51 AM
Africa isn't "a large segment of the world economy",actually it's a relatively small part.I remember that the African GDP was more than 1 trillion USD,which is very little, for a continent populated with 1 billion people.
I think that Africa needs industrialisation first and then crypto adoption. Most of the african countries have 80% uneducated population of peasants, who can do only agricultural work.
6516  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do we really understand what bitcoin is capable of? on: September 16, 2018, 05:03:45 AM
Bitcoin isn't capable of anything, because bitcoin is just a tool. The users of that tool can be "capable",but the tool itself isn't capable.BTC isn't AI and it will never become.
I couldn't care less about all the people, who spread FUD and predict bitcoin's death.
There were people, who were predicting bitcoin's death back in 2011 or 2014,but here it is,still strong and standing.
6517  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if bitcoin seems to average about 7500 USD on: September 15, 2018, 11:25:49 AM
This topic is more about bitcoin mining, rather about bitcoin price speculation. It should be moved to the "Mining" sub-forum.
OP,do you think that the miners really care that much about the current bitcoin price?Maybe they just mine bitcoins to HODL them for the long term. The electricity costs might be covered by other revenue or by loans.
If altcoin mining becomes more profitable, they will switch to altcoins.
6518  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop allowing manipulators to switch you off and on on: September 15, 2018, 11:15:44 AM
This is what often happens in the cryptocurrency market.

Sometimes you just see the price of the entire market going dip as a result of statement made by one influential person. Such persons are agents of FUD and yet you continue to reverend them because of their past or current achievements. They scare you to sell cheap to them, and later, they reverse their statement through someone else probably their cohorts, then the prices start to skyrocket again, then you start playing catch up to buy again even at prices far above what you sold to them. And the process goes on, starts all over again.

My friend! wise up and stop allowing someone to switch you off and on. You are not a toy robot.

Learn to stand your ground amid such manipulations or low market prices.

You are kinda wrong about this. The newbies don't panic sell their coins, because some "influential" guy told them to do so.They panic sell because the prices are already going down. The newbies act like a crowd driven by emotions like fear and they have no market strategy.
6519  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Problems with advertising and email platform crypto bans on: September 15, 2018, 06:34:11 AM
It's old news that Adwords and Facebook banned all crypto related ads.
3 weeks ago,I saw a Youtube ad about a cryptocurrency platform,so I guess that it's still allowed to advertise crypto products on Youtube.
Reddit Ads are an option as well, there are many crypto subreddits on Reddit, maybe they will allow crypto ads, however, the traffic from Reddit isn't converting that much.
Perhaps you should focus on content marketing or influencer marketing, instead of PPC.
6520  Economy / Economics / Re: Lehman Weekend: The Biggest Bankruptcy in American History on: September 15, 2018, 06:24:46 AM
It was like 10 years when Lehman Brothers collapsed followed by a global and economic disaster. But we have to thank that this event has happened otherwise Satoshi wouldn't created Bitcoin in the first place. It was the catalyst for him to invent a P2P currency without any intermediary (usually banks), and to operate without any government's intervention, thus decentralization.

Personally though, I was affected by this event, was laid out after September 2008 and was out of job for about a month. I was caught by surprised because there's some assurance that we wouldn't be affected, but damn we are totally wrong.

How about you guys, you directly affected by it? Do you think that if Lehman was saved by US government, Satoshi wouldn't push to create bitcoin? Or it is inevitable? The man himself will release it with or without the financial meltdown in 2008?

I was a highschool student back then,so it didn't affect me(I had no job) Grin.
The global financial crysis hit my country somewhere around the summer of 2009,when I graduated,so it was impossible for me to get a job. Now,bitcoin is an important part of my life.
