6501  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN] SaltySpitoon's Silver "Garlic" Bread Loaves DIY Wallets *Out of Stock* on: February 17, 2018, 09:07:10 PM
Of course, the weather took a turn for the worse, so I'll have to hold off until tomorrow to cast. I got two bread loaves done, but they aren't cleaned up yet. I used a new casting technique, and they turned out quite a bit different, but I'm liking it. Will upload pictures when done.

This is also unfinished, so it looks really rough at the moment, but.

Nah this is still cool as shit.  Anything Star Wars and you've got my attention.  Look forward to the finished product though!

Are you still selling the gold panada?   If you are I might be interested in grabbing that, just didn't know if it had to be sold within that hour window or not.

Panda has been sold. Just selling silver at this point.  Thx

edit-I do have several 10 oz silver bars I'm looking to sell as well.  Ask if interested.
6503  Economy / Collectibles / Re: unfunded/redeemed casascius prices on: February 16, 2018, 09:41:12 PM
I know people swear by ebay but in my short selling time on there i had 2 different times when someone tried getting a refund from paypal for single satori chips and once for a gpu.  I won all 3 times because i documented it right but i would expect that to go flawless each time....just be careful, id much rather take lower prices here taking escrow than dealing on that scammy site.

Selling loaded is a different story.  Selling anything unfunded is a straight up market just as any.  The markets also much larger, and has plenty of informed buyers from on and off this board.  You're also fully protected as long as you're not dealing with funded coins.  Ebay/PayPal is a scum sucking parasite, but a necessary one sometimes.
6504  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Interest Check] Custom Designed Satori Coins on: February 16, 2018, 10:53:29 AM
Sorry for the slow update guys! I've been reading what you've talked about and I agree with most of you Cheesy.

As of right now this project is put on ice.. Moto has asked for my patience as they are working on a lot of things over there and can't focus on this right now.

As for the custom chip, it is also looking like we can't do what we want with it, some guidelines have to be followed as using the same hologram (front might be able to change slightly) and then only changing the color of the chips without adding/removing any elements. We'll see what happens but as of now, no custom chips are going in to production in the near future..

Thanks for the update Hhampuz, I thought they might have quite strict guidelines in terms of the design of the tokens, but will watch this thread to see if this changes in the future.

Take care,

-Untold

Hey Untold, not sure if I ever replied to your PM (Sorry about that if I didn't). I love your chip design but I would almost think that it is worth pursuing that as your own thing, I'm sure it would sell if you were to make it!

Will keep you, and everyone else, updated on any progress made Smiley

Thanks Hhampuz,

No worries at all, I appreciate you taking the time to reply to me here!

I ended up doing an additional design (the one I sent you was a quick test), thanks for the kind words, I would love to explore the idea of creating a custom token, but seems super daunting!

Anyway, here is the design I made, and I look forward to any updates Smiley.

I am heartbroken now by Hampz words + this design.  Well done! I agree with Hampz, you should really pursue having some chips made up.  I hope Satori at the very least changes up the color.  IMO a small change in design would be good for them, their brand, desirability, and long term collector value.  Markets are flooded with orange chips now..change is good.
6505  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying from buy orders on: February 16, 2018, 09:02:44 AM
When buying from a buy order of a cypto currency trading page, is it advisable for the buyer to offer a higher price than the seller's price so he can fill the buy order or has a higher possibility to fill the order?

This is no different than in the stock market  (I don't advise placing market orders in the stock market very often however).  You can buy at the "market" if you're looking to lock in a trade right away.  It's very liquid so it's not difficult to obtain the current price you're seeing right there on the screen in front of you.  Now setting a "buy limit" order would be advisable if you're looking to lock in a certain price below where the current market value lies.

Also- many exchanges don't offer the kind of tools needed to let you set a limit order.  I would recommend the "Bitcoin Ticker" app by XBT Apps ltd...It's an awesome application that allows you to set price alerts.  I set this guy and will wake up in the middle of the night to place an order if need be  Cool
6506  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: stop listening to false news on: February 16, 2018, 07:12:59 AM
Very nice write up and sentiment by the newbie here!  This is absolutely dead on as well as an important topic.  I'm not so much on board with the creator of "fake news" so he says..but "fake news" does most certainly apply in the world of crypto-coins.  One thing we must remember is that the news outlets are doing everything they can to grab your attention whether that's by making a misleading headline or printing a bunch of FUD.

Look deep in to the technology.  Study and learn from great bitcoin minds like Andreas Antonopoulos.  You can find his youtube channel here (which he's always posting new and important content).   https://www.youtube.com/user/aantonop

I'm interested as well as interested if anyone has one of these peeled and looking to sell.
6508  Economy / Collectibles / Re: unfunded/redeemed casascius prices on: February 16, 2018, 04:02:05 AM
There's a few of us here who found out about this world via Ebay, myself included.  While I'm not saying the market on ebay isn't a bit over inflated, it shouldn't totally be ignored.   You won't find an empty Cas 5 BTC blank here for 10 bucks anymore or anywhere close to it.
6509  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Interest Check] Custom Designed Satori Coins on: February 16, 2018, 02:58:41 AM
Have a hard time believing the dream for a custom is dead.  The buyers are here and the L.N. seems to be working in our favor and should only make things that much easier/better/more likely/etc when the time comes.  Of course I'm not looped in like Hampz and look forward to hearing more from him.  Glass half full for once here.

Good god people is anyone going to bring up the LN network, do any of you do any homework or just spread FUD?  Honest to god it's so damn annoying.  If you're not educated..as a bitcoin supporter..than how are you going to teach non-believers?!

6512  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BREAKING NEWS : Bank of America and JP Morgan Are banning CC purchases on: February 15, 2018, 07:56:23 PM
Is anyone concerned about this?

Not me, especially that i hate using credit cards because it will drive you to be indebt. In fact lot of people are now in trouble on how to settle their debt with the banks and regretting that they should not own and use these cards so better we stay away from these type of cards and focus to support Bitcoin and other digital currencies that it can be use in any establishments. Anyway JP morgan is already very famous of hating Bitcoin so there is no big deal about this news.

Well that's not a smart way of looking at it.  The fact of the matter is right now (at least in the united states) using a credit card is very important for many peoples future.  First off using cash makes little to no sense here in the U.S. and it makes me sick seeing it.  Using a credit card allows one to build "credit" which is VERY important.  Also, most credit cards offer rewards for using those cards.  Personally I use an airline card and get great benefits from this card ( a lot of free flights).

It is true too many people were buying bitcoin on credit they don't have to re-pay.  That's just as dangerous as buying anything on credit with money you don't have.  Don't just ignore CC's, but be smart about them.

6515  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is bitcoin back to its own rhythm again? on: February 15, 2018, 01:15:51 AM
I think just about a week ago it seemed like all doom and gloom with bitcoin and cryptocurrency as a whole.  Now let's step back for a second and exam just how "news" is reported these days.  Often whatever the story is things are glamorized and or taken out of context in a big way.  That being said it looked like bitcoin and alts had a lot going against it in the news.

Just like that the US senate had a very promising hearing with the SEC/CFTC where many encouraging statements were made, good news rang out from Singapore as well as South Korea.  As we speak fears have dampened in South Korea and bitcoin seems to be reacting from that as well.  There is no doubt fear and FUD have been a large part of the recent swings but I think price could be heading North, albeit a potential rocky road along the way.
6516  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there any good news about Bitcoin from your country? on: February 15, 2018, 01:07:38 AM
Recent news from the senate talks where the SEC and CFTC met roughly a week ago.  A few quotes show much promise in the US government and it's agencies being more receptive to bitcoin.  “We owe it to this new generation to respect their enthusiasm for virtual currencies, with a thoughtful and balance response, and not a dismissive one,” Giancarlo said.

“Sixty-six million tons of American soybeans were just handled through a blockchain transaction by the Dreyfus company to China. So Bitcoin is now being used, it’s being used in our American transportation and logistics system,” Giancarlo said, professing that his niece is a so-called cryptocurrency HODLer. “I think this distributed ledger technology has enormous potential. Now how it will be realized, when it will be realized are challenges, and those we can’t say.”
6517  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buy when market is Red on: February 15, 2018, 12:49:52 AM
Buy when market is Red, a trick to successful trading.

Oldest rule in the trading book. Problem is knowing when the floor is already hit and readying for the bounce.
Today's gains seem to be going steady with all coins gaining values. Maybe after CNY we will see spike in the BTC and ETH volumes and value again.

It is surely going to go down, its been going up for the past couple of days, thats how the market works.

What kind of experience or knowledge do you bring to the table that anyone should listen to your statements? It would look to me that you really have no idea what you're talking about and you're just making baseless claims.

I really hope that no one logs in to their accounts here to look for financial advice and I surely hope people don't log in to their accounts and take financial advice from bozo's who just like to see themselves talk via blogging aimlessly. There is no sure thing in finances and to say otherwise is irresponsible and foolish.

A kilogram death star is awfully tempting!

1) I hate flash
2) The big one isn't finished or assembled

The smaller one is about ping pong ball sized, the larger one is a little smaller than a baseball

6519  Economy / Economics / Re: What is a good amount of BTC to Buy? on: February 14, 2018, 07:00:36 PM
I am a broken record when it comes to this question but as a financial guy I will lay out a brief financial plan that almost anyone can follow.

1) When do you want to retire?  Have a year range in mind and set your investment goals to that range.  It might be short term or it may be long term ..so tailor your investments accordingly.  BEFORE investing in Bitcoin, you should have a traditional portfolio in place.

2) 3 buckets.  The average person should have 3 buckets of investments.  Of course age plays a big part in this but as a general guide, as well as not being retired..

Bucket 1-Short term (cash on hand, savings accounts, money markets etc)-Everyone should have this bucket

Bucket 2-Mid term (Stocks, mutual funds, bonds ETFs, etc)

Bucket 3-Long Term (401k, 403b, 457, pensions, IRA etc)

After all 3 buckets have been filled..then you can pull in a 4th bucket called the "speculative bucket".  In this 4th bucket I like to invest in riskier more speculative types of investments such as BTC , commodities and riskier stocks.  This is where you can hit home runs and if the rest of your portfolio is well established as well as diverse...then investing a small % of your net worth could make good sense.  No one has any clue where bitcoin is heading so you can't guarantee profits just like you can't with traditional investments.
6520  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are they afraid of bitcoin? on: February 14, 2018, 06:48:12 PM
This question makes me think of a question Andreas Antonapoulos was asked about if he enjoys engaging in debate with any of his biggest pundits.  He basically describes his pundits as either not being intellectual aware and open and that for many it goes against there core political beliefs.  He states..."I think many of the intellectually honest people eventually stop being critics, because they suddenly realize that the flaws they are identifying are temporary features, issues, and not inherent problems. There are very few inherent problems in a dynamically evolving design or ecosystem of different designs all competing, that cannot be resolved.  There are critics who criticize this technology primarily based on their world view.   It is politically inconsistent with their world view.  It’s not that they do not like the technology it’s that they do not like the implications of this technology and the primary criticism you get then is “this should not be” to which all I can answer is ..and yet it is.  “but we mustn’t”… and yet we did, “but you shouldn’t”.. but yet we did".
