6522  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How did I do? on: November 22, 2013, 10:42:18 AM
At this point that 5BTC gives me enough to buy a hashfast babyjet plus upgrade to 800gh/s. I have to do a bit of research on whether or not that'd be a smart buy at this point though. Either way, I figured I could sell 80gh/s now for 5btc and then buy 800gh/s and wait for it to come out.

You mean you could buy a babyjet , and wait (hope) for it to be delivered , right?
6523  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where is your logic?! on: November 22, 2013, 10:39:47 AM
I go and buy a *something* from  subway with btc , then I want my btc back and i'm.....making a wire to japan?
You see the problem here?
6524  Economy / Economics / Re: What kind of BTC businesses are MISSING? on: November 22, 2013, 10:38:07 AM
Lets' make the list easier.
What we have now paying with bitcoins ?
And remove bitpay , it's just like using cc cards , another middleman.
6525  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China Has more of EVERYTHING.. How many bitcoins? on: November 22, 2013, 10:33:47 AM
Yeah , it's due to it's size , nothing more.

I don't wish for this  , but in a case of a poor agricultural year , Buddha helps China.
Because the one who afford 10$ for a bread will be the ones safe. And that ain't the average Chinese.
You country could be the most powerful in the world or the richest , it doesn't help a growling stomach.
6526  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A proposal: Forget about mBTC and switch directly to Satoshis on: November 22, 2013, 10:29:24 AM
Warning: rant below.

[rant]
I hate to be a troll, but I really think this thread is quite silly.  I mean, there's really no conflict.  Why on earth should there be some proclaimation that on a given date "we starting using the word Satoshis".  All correct terms can be in use at the same time.  People will naturally use the most relevant demarcation.  Jeesus, if I have 25 cents, I can refer to that as 0.25 dollars, and likewise if I have 1Kdollars, I can refer to that as 100Kcents.  I don't understand the hype here.  Please.
[/rant]

because with a dollar you could only have 100 cents, it's either 10 dollars  or 10  *100 cents.
with one bitcoin , you can have 1000mB, 1000000uB , two possibilities.

Balance of trade :

http://www.tradingeconomics.com/china/balance-of-trade

http://www.tradingeconomics.com/germany/balance-of-trade

China recorded a trade surplus of 311.07 USD Hundred Million in October of 2013

Germany recorded a trade surplus of 20.40 EUR Billion in September of 2013

80 mils germans vs "the country that makes everything in the world".
6528  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China Has more of EVERYTHING.. How many bitcoins? on: November 22, 2013, 10:11:02 AM
I don't know if you have ever been to China , but judging by the air there and all the pollution , I doubt most of them will be able to make the second child.
6529  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China Has more of EVERYTHING.. How many bitcoins? on: November 22, 2013, 10:01:24 AM

Definitely not. Netherlands is VERY wealthy for its size and even compared to far larger countries  Quality of life and social safety nets are far better than most countries ( probably top 10 or 20, I got married there and lived for 2 yrs in Rotterdam 1979-81) unless of course things have greatly changed for the worse which I doubt. Germany is also unquestionably wealthy, probably no 1 in TOTAL wealth in Europe

So you realize , that India might beat China on this numbers pretty soon  at the rate their population grows , while there are still thousands of people starving from hunger and dog bites in that country.

Let's wait for  A.H. shirt!
At least that guy did a few good things like building a few highways , DPR did only the bad ones.
6531  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The question going through everyone's mind. on: November 22, 2013, 09:54:43 AM
You don't.

Do I win a prize?

You do like you did it before Bitcoin.
I'm in for the second place prize.

China has more of everything or soon will have

2 Cars /autos

China was #2 in 2010 but now probably #1

According to Ward's, the United States has the largest fleet of motor vehicles in the world, with 239.8 million by 2010

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motor_vehicle

but 2012 figures

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-02-01/china-vehicle-population-hits-240-million-as-smog-engulfs-cities.html

China Vehicle Population Hits 240 Million

and so it goes on..and on and on.

Whatever you define as something of value they are #1 owners or soon will be

On the other side they have 160Million BELOW the official poverty line but the yearly reduction on this number is HIGH with a probable 0 million in 5-10 yrs

Well ,
List of countries by vehicles per capita
111    China   85
3    United States   797

Yes the per capita issue Smiley  If you realize the per capita is a ratio to POPULATION and that China pop is so much larger than USA and everyone else then simple maths show that the actual TOTAL number is higher even though the per capita is lower as in the TV example above

Cars are neck and neck and production in China is double so very soon ( if not already) they will be no 1 in TOTAL autos owned  ( but still lower in per capita)

You know , China has more cars than the Netherlands , does this mean the dutch are a third world country
Also , China has more highways than Germany , and Germany will never be able to compete , those poor Germans and their dirt roads
Also , if you took your time , to go to this
http://www.tradingeconomics.com/china/indicators

Please let me know how the balance of trade looks , for China and Germany.

6535  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 22, 2013, 09:29:32 AM
Again and again , why does it have to either crash or go to the moon , can't it have a week of relaxation around this comfy 700 price?

Because this is Bitcoin Cheesy

Bitcoin price derives from human actions , can't you all take 24(h) off ?
It's morning , raining , no coffee , and in this situation price movements aren't as funny as they were.

I suggest you get some sleep  Cheesy

I just wake up Cheesy.
And unlike most of people here I couldn't care about those bumps , call me when it hits 10k.
6537  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I know this has been brought up before, but confirmation times are getting weird on: November 22, 2013, 09:21:47 AM
So after a few days where I thought times are getting back to normal it seems they are going back up.
For now there are only a few minutes , but we're talking about 50k transactions/day if those are the cause. Make them 10x and somebody will have to make those block changes.

Also , funny:
Height   Age   Transactions   Total Sent   Relayed By   Size (kB)
270900   2 minutes   382   5,327.14 BTC   GHash.IO   151.13
270900   2 minutes   369   5,037.41 BTC   BTC Guild   145.65
270899   5 minutes   313   7,642.39 BTC   Deepbit   138.48

1a) Ignore icebreaker and try to come up with a decent discussion that does not involve my mum. (that's some pathetic trolling, anyway. HF should lower you hourly payrate); (i wanted to keep fighting the troll, but didn't want to annoy other readers, so i stopped).

From what i see, they are simply trying to do their best to stole the biggest amount; they know that their time is running low and the future is really uncertain. What other reasons would justify their behaviour? BFL was really even better at communicating.

Ignoring Icebreaker it's not a good move.
He's an indicator on how shitty the situation is and how it's going for the worse
