The market's have been having a rough week but Bitcoin still holding around the $8.000 mark
Let's wait and hope for the price rise with next bull run for BTC.
Are you going to HODL or withdraw it now afraid of some drops?

I am pretty sure most people who have been here since 2018 have either sold or at least sold a portion of their BTC when it was like $5800 or so because everybody assumed that $6000 would be strong resistance.

Right now if you got any BTC left you are better off just hodling it and hope for the 5 digit soon, that way if you sold some of your stack too early at $5800 you can get a better average.

But I am surprised we actually broke $4200 in April and would of never guessed we would touch $9000 so quickly. So I am hodling the rest and hoping for 5 digits soon.
6542  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Global Facebook Coins Good To Buy? on: June 10, 2019, 06:32:22 AM
I think the coin might be a success but not from an investment point of view since it will be pegged to fiat currencies.

When someone sells something on the marketplace they can get paid in Globalcoin, and then when they want to buy something they can pay with Globalcoin. In the future the Globalcoin might get accepted by retails like Amazon even.

This is good because paying with cash isn't always ideal. Some people never carry cash and when buying high valued items its risky. Also it eliminates the need for credit card vendors, so it eliminates any fees. Credit card fees are like 2% or so and this way it would be free.
6543  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Anyone hedge your mining income? on: June 10, 2019, 05:52:16 AM
And if you wait for the transition to ETH POS it will be possible to receive passive income, of course if you have 32ETH. It's all theory, and as will be in practice, nobody knows.

Yes your passive income will be in ETH, not in US dollars which is what the main poster is trying to achieve. This is why its not always great to invest in masternodes, because yes you will get more altcoins but if the value of the underlying altcoin actually goes down with respect to the US dollar, you lose money anyways.

And who knows when ETH will actually transistion to POS, they are always slow in development and always miss deadlines. It could be another 2-3 years before we get the full POS.
6544  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU fans started failing, had to improvise a little on: June 10, 2019, 05:48:28 AM
PLEASE READ!

It has become evident that there is clearly quality issues with the fans Gigabyte's Windforce series graphics cards. I have come across hundreds of forum posts with people claiming they have had the following issues:

- Loud fan noises
- Fans failing to spin
- Bearing failures
- Fans hitting other internal components

Upon attempting to return their faulty graphics cards to Gigabyte or their retailer in which they purchased them from, many have experienced complete denial of any issues with the fans, some have been told they were using them for GPU mining - when they weren't, and many have still experienced the same issues after the repaired or replaced graphics card has been returned to them.

In my case, I was unlucky enough to purchase 120 of these graphics cards for my IT business to sell - So far, we have had over half of these fail which has caused irreparable damage to my business as my customers who purchased the graphics cards did not want to use any Gigabyte products anymore and demanded refunds. Since returning the faulty cards to my supplier only 4 weeks after purchasing them, I was completely denied of any refund and the cards were eventually repaired and sent back to me.
Although offering a warranty repair is a better outcome than nothing, these cards have been still experiencing the same issues so they have absolutely no resale value - I mean, who would purchase a graphics card that can't even survive 4 weeks out of a 3 year warranty?

I have since engaged a lawyer and will be taking the matter further.

The reason I have started this petition is because I know that there are potentially thousands of people who have experienced this poor quality issue from Gigabyte. For Gigabyte to turn around and deny any quality issues is absolutely unacceptable. I mean, google even has an autocorrect for "gigabyte windforce fan issues".

As far as I am aware, this only involves the Windforce series graphics cards - but could involve others.

If your Gigabyte graphics card contains the word "Windforce" this could affect you!

If you have personally experienced any issues with these graphics cards - please get in contact with me

Please share!!

I've dealt with the bad Gigabyte Windforce fans since the 2013 Litecoin mining days when the Radeon 7950/7970 were constantly throttling due to at least 1 fan failing. These are the ones with the triple fan setup. They said that since it has 3 fans it would run cooler, quieter and fans are more durable, completely untrue.

I would RMA them and a few months later, same issue. It was usually the fans closest to the opposite of the DVI+HDMI outputs section for some reason.

Your best bet is just to pull the blade and re-oil them monthly or as needed, and it usually gets them going again. I think the reason why they fail in mining rigs is due to being mounted vertically instead of horizontally like in a PC case, it causes more stress and they die prematurely.
6545  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com | The Most Popular Bitcoin Casino | V2 & New games out now! 👽 on: June 09, 2019, 08:22:28 AM
As far as I can recall there was only one time when the KYC was actually used and from what I understood it was because the user made a large deposit, made 1 bet, and tried to do a withdraw.

The withdraw was flagged for some reason because the deposit had a taint. Was some stolen coins or some mixed coins or some other shady past. So they required KYC to protect themselves in case any issues arose from that initial deposit.

However for most people I am pretty sure they won't go thru this ordeal unless the deposit comes from a weird source. This is understandable.
6546  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you hold a bag of useless illiquid tokens like me? on: June 09, 2019, 06:32:08 AM
We are all holding coins which are 99% from ATH, basically no point in selling those coins and no point in buying more either to get a better average.

Sure some will eventually turn into 100% losses but some might recover and those that recover might make some losses back.

Reason why its not always smart to buy more to average in is because if a coin is at 99% from ATH, there is usually a reason why and its usually because its dying and its a risky buy.
6547  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: June 09, 2019, 06:28:22 AM
Been a while since I last traded XRP. I missed the original pump that started at 4000 Sats and missed the 5000 Sat support area a few days back. So I added some right here at 5150 Sats and got orders for more at 4900-5000 Sats.

I think its time for XRP to run like it did back in the crazy bull market. Its got some news and I think we formed a low in the past month.

Only issue with this trade is where to put the stops, after 4900, there is nothing until 4600 Sats and then until 4000 Sats and it could lead to huge losses if there is a wick, especially on Bitmex.
6548  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Your First Stop Loss on: June 09, 2019, 06:22:38 AM
I agree with most people here that you need to use stops but keep in mind you need to pick a good idea to put your stop loss at so it doesn't get hit and reverse on you.

I remember when I first started using stops, I found them useless because almost everytime my stop got hit and it reversed in exactly that area.

Then I found that you should never place stops at daily highs or lows or near psychological numbers like $7000 or $8000.
6549  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Anyone hedge your mining income? on: June 09, 2019, 06:18:59 AM
Its not possible to hedge your mining income. You can always sell some BTC or ETH futures shorts and you would be locked in at a specific price but you can't control the difficulty.

If price of ETH keeps going up so will the difficulty. So if you sell your ETH futures at the current price of $250 and in a few months it hits $1000 per coin, your issue will be that it will be difficult mining that same ETH at $1000 than at $250 since there are more miners. So your profit per day would be much smaller even though your price is still at $250.

This method would work best if say ETH crashed back down to the $100 range, because the difficulty would decrease and you would get more ETH to sell at $250.
6550  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: how hard will Binance coin (BNB) get dumped? on: June 05, 2019, 10:34:59 PM
The reason why BNB has been so successful compared to many other coins is because unlike most Crypto coins BNB actually has a use and its to reduce trading fees. This is very important especially to all the high volume traders on Binance.

And you can tell it is useful when other exchange such as Bitfinex are doing the exact same thing and launching their own LEO type of coin. This was actually a very smart part of the Binance CEO and that's why its been so successful.

When it was first launch maybe assumed it would fail and nobody would actually buy BNB but look how successful the coin was compared to other alts.
6551  Economy / Speculation / Re: Little dip in bitcoin market, will it be recovered reach 10k on: June 05, 2019, 10:32:04 PM
You know how the markets work exactly they basically do the exact opposite of what most people expect.

Take 2017 for example, before BTC broke $10K for the first time. I sold most of my BTC at like $9500 and even took a short at $9800 because I assumed $10K wouldn't break, it did.

Take 2018 for example, people assumed $10K was strong support, it wasn't and broke under.

Then take April/May 2018 again, the taxes were paid and everybody was assuming BTC would break $10K and never trade under it again, it never hit $10K.

So now we are in the same boat. Everybody expect it to break $10K, and most likely it might come close $9800 and reverse like last year.
6552  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2019 Cryptocurrency (Elliott Wave) on: June 05, 2019, 10:28:57 PM
About 10 years ago when I started to trade stocks I learnt of the Elliott Wave method and was intriged by it. I basically got all the courses, ebooks and other trading material on Elliott Wave type of trading.

I even had a type of software that would search all the stocks on NYSE and Nasdaq and would find ones that gave a signal. However the issues with Elliot Wave was this...

It works great in hindsight... however its very difficult to use in real time.

I would lose money constantely and decided to drop it all together. I think if you want to use EW then you need to use some other form of TA such as trends, moving averages, support/resistance, etc.
6553  Economy / Gambling / Re: [INTEREST CHECK] Dice Duels! Play against other players! - BTCDice.games on: June 05, 2019, 10:24:52 PM
This does sound like an interesting idea however it was actually already available on Primedice a few years back ( I think 2015 or so) and they removed it due to lack of interest.

It featured a special section of the site, where you can go against some other player and it was provably fair type of PvP gambling. It was used from time to time as I can remember however I think eventually nobody used it and it was removed.

I think most people rather just gamble again the house edge rather than another player since the probably of winning is the same. And this way you can gamble almost anytime rather than have to go into the chat and wait until another player challenges you.

I think why it wasn't a success is because its not a skill type of game like Chess, its more of a game based on luck and odds and that's why those are usually never popular when PvP.
6554  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: June 05, 2019, 10:17:55 PM
Late reply to the thread 8 question about Zotac - I'm starting to have fans fail on the few Zotac mini cards I own.
I can NOT recommend most of their cards (or the NEW model EVGA stuff) due to their use of "fancy name" sleeve bearing fans and the resulting FAST FAILURES on those fans.

I'm more than a little ticked off at EVGA lately, as they're moving across the board away from their long-time use of GOOD ball bearing fans to JUNK - first it was the bloody G3 power supplies, now their graphic cards....

I haven't ever used a Zotac brand GPU, however I am aware that they are more on the cheaper brand of aftermarket GPUs.

Regarding the sleeve bearing fans, are those similiar to those of the Gigabyte Windforce series type of fans? They were notorious for failing constantly due to the bad design and always allowed dust to come inside the bearing and caused them to fail prematurely.

I have RMA'd a bunch of them only to get the same issue about 6-12 months later. What I found is best for those fans was to take some floss and put it around the fan blade and pull the blade off, and you can see the bearing and oil it with mineral oil and it'll last another 6 months or so.

Basically I got so good at it because of the frequency that they failed that its possible to perform it while it was still on the rig. So maybe try and pull the fan blade and try to reoil the Zotac GPUs instead of RMA'ing them.
6555  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook shitty coin. Facebook selling information of their customers on: June 05, 2019, 06:27:25 AM
We don't know if this will actually take place since it's a stable coin linked to the US dollar and there are going to be massive regulations to overcome.

I think this is geared to people who buy and sell on the marketplace. Because it lets people sell something for Facebook coin and then they can use that coin to buy something else.

It will be useful because it eliminates cash and also eliminates the high fees of credit cards. However I am oretry sure that KYC will be a must and most probably won't have issues giving FB their private info since they pretty much are an open book with all the photos people post everyday of their private lives.
6556  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Bulls Near Exhaustion, Investors Should Be Wary on: June 05, 2019, 06:20:53 AM
It was bound to pullback sometime eventually. Look at the bull market of 2017 in the second half of the year. Bitcoin was on a crazy bull run but it had huge pullbacks along the way.

I remember when it touched $5000 for the first time and about a week later it hit $3000 and people assumed $5K was the top but it quickly reversed from $3K to break the ATH about 3 weeks later.

So I am assuming this will be similar, we might get a nasty pullback but within a month should break the $9100 area we made last week.

2/6 Show Racism the Red Card uses the high status of football players to help end racism in society.
This educational charity aims to defeat racism through providing young people with role models and anti-racist messages.

Retweet or Like to see $1,000 go to @SRTRC_England

I had to read up on this Charity because it seems very different than what most charities are doing these days.

Most haven't heard about it because it originates out of the U.K. and it says that "foot ballers" are the ones which can send powerful messages to their fans which can end racism.

This is actually smart and I am surprised it doesn't spread to other countries such as the United Statew. Kids in general have role models and they have a greater chance at listening to them than a parent or a police officer.

I see this $1000 going a long way if donated to this charity.
6558  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com | The Most Popular Bitcoin Casino | V2 & New games out now! 👽 on: June 05, 2019, 06:07:18 AM
Stake created originally to diversify games on its platform, rather than only dice game as Primedice provides. Therefore, I think that when the right time comes, sportbook might be appeared on Stake.com. Right time means when Stake.com team finished their preparations for the activation of sporkbook on their platform, they will do it. I also agreed with you that such thing requires time, a lot of time to start with a new one, that has potentiality to be competitive with older sporkbook providers in gambling industry. It's not a easy task, but if Stake.com team have intererests, they might do it well. Over time, we all see that when the team behind Primedice and Stake.com do something, they usually do hard and get big success.
Maybe Stake should come up with a survey from its registered users whenever they log-in the site on how many would like to see or Stake to add a Sportsbook within the site. I agree that adding Sportsbook would add more traffic in Stake and this would add more players to visit the site.

Did Stake comment on whether they will add sports book or not? I haven't read the last few pages.

I think that Stake might have some type of agreement with the other sportbook betting websites not to go in direct competition because doing so they would lose a lot of their gamblers since obviously most gamblers would switch to Stake for their sports bets.

This would be like Apple creating its own Facebook and quite possibly overtaking them since most people trust Apple over Facebook. They probably got an agreement not to interfere in their main bread and butter products.
6559  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The similar chart of GOLD and BITCOIN on: June 04, 2019, 10:37:51 PM
I can probably find dozens of charts similiar to the above 2. I don't think Gold is a good indicator of the future of BTC. In the past there was very little correlation.

Gold has been actually trading very stable since 2013 or so and its definitely less volatile than Bitcoin. One is used in watches and other electrical equipment and the other is used on the blockchain. One is a better store of value than the other but those are the only similarities.

Alot of people are saying its digital gold however you need to realise that since BTC is very technical and has lots of thefts to it, it will never be similiar to gold. Maybe if we get an BTC ETF it might change things because then it would be easier for most retail people to buy but right now there is little correlation to Gold just like to the S&P 500.
6560  Economy / Speculation / Re: Little dip in bitcoin market, will it be recovered reach 10k on: June 04, 2019, 10:29:59 PM
You can't predict the top as much as you can't predict the bottom. I honestly assumed that we would at least hit $9800 or something similiar since it looked like the support held.

Now we are getting the opposite, since that dump a few hours ago, we are hitting resistance areas and being dragged down. We are also falling very fast. Which is a signal that we might hit the $7000 area sometime in the next few days or so.

I think that $6000 or $6400 or so is very strong and it will most likely hold, if it doesn't hold we might enter another bear market again.
