6541  Economy / Economics / Re: Will Crypto Mining Become Obsolete? - Recent Reports Show Its Decline on: August 29, 2018, 06:54:25 PM
No bitcoin mining will not be obsolete. What those company are saying that their sales are declining, and it coincides with the price of crypto plummeting this year. Last year they are booming and their boards are running out of stocks, even gamers are complaining that Nvidia and AMD GPU are very expensive because crypto miners are using them.

So its pretty obvious that there's some price correlation going on. But it doesn't mean that crypto mining is obsolete or something. Let's wait next year when crypto started to bounce back again, I'm sure that both companies will make a lot of revenues similar to 2017.
6542  Economy / Speculation / Re: $ 5,800 is the lowest threshold for Bitcoin in 2018! on: August 28, 2018, 08:10:58 PM
For now , that can be specified from the bitcoin price chart on Bitfinex available on Bitcoinwisdom. Bitcoin prices have fallen between $ 5,800 and $ 6,500 several times in 2018 but has never lower than 5800$ before it reachs 5800$ last year.

As of the moment, I should say yes, its the last bottomed we seen. However, we still have the September news coming from SEC, so it might have a bad effect on the market if the news suddenly went on a disapproval.

So we can't really tell unless we see a dramatic rise in the next coming months and we can totally say that we are out of the woods for another bottom this year.
6543  Economy / Economics / Re: Huobi's Fierce Move to March Forward on: August 28, 2018, 07:51:02 PM
Huobi, an international blockchain asset firm, currently headquartered in Singapore and founded in 2013, has its offices spanned in the United States, Japan, South Korea, and Hong Kong.

After China’s nationwide crackdown on cryptocurrency exchanges and initial coin offerings (ICOs) in late 2017, the Huobi Group shifted its headquarters from Beijing to Singapore. Now, despite the declining prices of cryptocurrencies in 2018, Huobi appears to be moving forward aggressively with its expansion efforts.

Make sense for them to moved to Singapore because its crypto friendly. I think top exchanges have a plan B, just like Binance and OKex moving to Malta.

So I'm not surprise by their move, I wouldn't call it aggressive though, perhaps its a business decision on their end to shift their HQ to a more friendly nation like Singapore so that they can still operate without any pressure from the government.
6544  Economy / Speculation / Re: will the beginning of 2019 btc rise? on: August 28, 2018, 06:26:49 PM
Now the price of btc is starting to crawl up. It is possible to continue to rise until the end of this year. And at the beginning of 2019 btc will be better and will continue to increase.

I do hope that this rise is sustainable at least and not another bull trap. We have been expecting that Sept will be the start of something big and I think we are still on track. Everyone is excited to see the price being bump today but we cannot rule out that someone might be manipulating the price from behind so its better to observed how the market will go specially coming this September.
6545  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC: 2014 & 2018 comparison on: August 26, 2018, 11:54:22 PM
Oh I did not analyse these chart ever, maybe because in 2014 I was not having any much idea about cryptocurrency so never had look on 2014 chart, thanks for bringing up this comparison, its seems that 2014 history will repeat in 2018 charts are looking so similar, I see current level of BTC as bottom, I am expecting a upmove from this level, good analysis.

Majority of us here doesn't know what crypto is back in 2014. I'm haven't checked the historical logs though, the last stop I did was 2016. But it like every 1 to 2 years we will have this bearish trend followed by a dramatic rise. So it history repeats itself we might see bitcoin going up next year.
6546  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Hodling on: August 26, 2018, 11:42:01 PM
Hello, everyone, I was thinking if it is still profitable to hodl cryptos. Having lost by a huge margin 70% isn't this Hodl just not working. I seem to have finally had enough. What do you guys think?

Its profitable to hold. But the question is how long are you willing to hold?

My guesstimate is that at this trend, we should hold for more than a year. It is expected that this trend will continue up to 2019. So if you are a holder, you should look at 2019 as the best year you will see good profits. Everyone lost at this bearish trend, specially if you are a holder. But no need to sell everything, have patience and I'm sure that we all gonna see a good returns specially next year.
6547  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ETFs are gone, now it's Bitmain IPO? on: August 25, 2018, 09:10:53 PM
I wonder no one mentioned about KYC. Bitmain are now enforcing to KYC if you are going to get hardware from them. The only reason I got is because of their IPO. Is Bitmain really losing grounds that they needed this IPO thingy? Or because of reportedly holding BCH, which drops significantly, perhaps they needed another source of funding right now. But I don't think it will have any impact to the price of crypto though. Might just put some hype, but that's it, nothing of significant to be expected.
6548  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day trading and heavy manipulation on: August 25, 2018, 08:36:25 PM
I have been day trading Bitcoin for a few months now. Overall I'm pretty much making nothing and losing nothing. It seems to me that there is no logic at all to the market. No matter how much research you do, how much you look at the technical's and how much you try to hedge you absolutely can't predict the massive dumps that happen every day. They appear out of nowhere at random times and drop the market by $200 - $300 at a time.

This smacks of huge manipulation of the market. They are making it impossible to trade with bitcoin in any way other than a pure gamble. Anyone else noticing this?

Yes, its pretty obvious that you will see a huge jump then suddenly in matter of minutes the price goes -300%. So it really doesn't make sense to day trade.

Good that you look at it like gambling, very unpredictable and whatever tools you used are useless once those manipulators started to used their "magic wand" and turn the price to their favor.
6549  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China Cryptocurrency Ban Escalates on: August 23, 2018, 11:28:10 PM
And it really boils down to control. They are really suppressive and just imagine if crypto took off in their country. That's why I'm not surprised by this news and it seems they are really irrelevant haven't they? Although Bitmain still has the monopoly but sooner or later their government will take care of it as well. They really wanted to eradicate everything that's relates to crypto so its logical that Bitmain will be the next target and the puzzle will now be complete.
6550  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: August 23, 2018, 11:10:48 PM
Bitmain requiring KYC now? What's up with that? Why all of a sudden they required potential buyers to go through this whole KYC process?
6551  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have received some tokens. Should I sell or hold? on: August 21, 2018, 09:27:32 PM
If the project has some fundamentals behind then its worth to hold and see how it goes. But if its just another shitty tokens, then I advise you to sell it immediately and don't be caught by the hype. Sooner or later a big dump will come causing the value to depreciate and you are going to be trap for a long time.

Edit: I'm thinking of just holding the coins if they've just been listed on a exchange. Chances are, the price could spike a bit, you just wait and see how it goes. Everything involves some timing as well, so continue to observe once its listed and then make your decision, it can go either go to 0 or all-time-high.
6552  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Future of BITCOIN CASH ? on: August 21, 2018, 09:01:21 PM
Are people really using BCH . It's Market value has drop almost 85% from it's all-time high value.
So many BCH but about 60% of all is controlled by only 67 wallets .

The  payments have also  slumped to $3.7 million in May from a high of $10.5 million in March. Bitcoin payments totaled $60 million in May, down from a peak of $412 million in September.

What are your thoughts on BCH's future .

Just like any other altcoins today, it will continue to suffer. And people are all aware that Roger and his cohorts are the only investors or bagholders of BCH. The hype has died down, perhaps if Roger will pour more cash and create a artificial pump, Bitcoin Cash can stay survived in the next coming years.
6553  Economy / Speculation / Re: Former CEO of Paypal on CNCB: "Bitcoin is going to 0" on: August 20, 2018, 08:08:06 AM
Everything is possible, no one really can know what will happen, but there is many speculation about cryptocurrency. People often try to manipulate other people's self-awareness, by buying a well-known person's speeches. I can not say that this is the case here, but people should be more smarter in some case.

Exactly. Its really hard to understand why those people will just say non-sense on crypto and even speculate on its demise. Oh wait, crypto is a threat to their business so to eliminate, tell will go on a tirade and attack it on public so that people will take twice about investing. But I'm sure there are a lot of smart investors out there and would just believed what those anti-crypto are saying.
6554  Economy / Economics / Re: Facebook now joining btc? on: August 20, 2018, 07:15:01 AM
First of all, i don't think facebook will let that happen for now as they have let the crypto projects be banned on facebook. You can't see ads anymore about cryptos because they've prohibited it and then all of a sudden they will make crypto or bitcoin as one of their payments? That may take a while.

As far as I know, Facebook already change their policy towards crypto.

https://techcrunch.com/2018/06/26/facebook-reverses-its-crypto-ad-ban/

But they are implementing strict policies and applicants will go to a process.

Second, I don't think that facebook or other social media platforms will consider cryptocurrencies because if they really see crypto or bitcoin as a big one, i think they already joined in investigating.
But i think everything will come in the right time. If they will really see crypto in a positive way then time will tell.

I agree. Social media is not into bitcoin and some of them are totally against it. They might change their stance in the future but they will not go into bitcoin and invest on it.
6555  Economy / Marketplace / Re: For god's sake, stop lestening to mainstream Media and wake up people... !! on: August 19, 2018, 09:04:08 PM
Why bring the gods into this world. Are you a follower of Buddhism? Do not bring the gods here to describe them. Doing so is not very good. Let's for the investor community that works for the legitimate.

Its just a expression dude. And don't take the words literally but learn how to read between the lines.

I think by now people have learned their lesson very well. We have matured and I think no one is really listening to those people anymore. And those who kept listening will understand later what those guys are really up to. Those attacking bitcoin have their own agenda behind. And by the way, Facebook has already made a U-turn and no longer banning crypto ads as far as I know.
6556  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In Venezuela, Cryptocurrency Is an Oppressor and a Lifeline on: August 19, 2018, 08:48:19 PM
Venezuela is one of the growing country. I hope and believe that crypto will be one of the economic condition changer in coming days for them. Though they are struggling now, I think, it will end soon.

Did you really think that Venezuela is growing? Lol. You need to read the news dude. They are sinking specially their economy due to political reasons. That's why people are using bitcoin to buy necessities outside of their country because the government can't provide it. They are not struggling, the country is really in deep trouble and they rely on bitcoins in order to survived.
6557  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is 'capped' at 20k maximum now, because of high Fees (till when?) on: August 18, 2018, 09:00:55 PM

Hi  there!

So if Bitcoin would go to 20k in eg december 2018 -
then fees would go cracy high like 50usd again, wouldn't it?

Is that right?

I mean, what do we have, a few more % adoption of segwit, which does.. not do anything much, does it?
Anything we have now that we don't had in last december 2017?

So basically bitcoin is capped at eg 15k (when did fee's become cracy?) - until lightning is mass adopted?
What is a guess of timeframe for lightning mass adoption - 3 years?

The network spammers is gone, trading exchanges are batching their transactions and people are adopting Segwit now. So I doubt that we will see a network clogged if ever bitcoin tops $20K again at the end of the year.

And I get your idea that bitcoin is capped because of fees.

Lightning is still in beta phase, as far as I know (please someone correct me if I'm wrong), And until its rolled out, we don't know the extend of its adoption.
6558  Other / Off-topic / Re: What will you be remembered for? on: August 18, 2018, 08:42:17 PM
People have always been rather interested in acquiring wealth. They do this at the expense of other people's progress. They go as far as cheating their society or community just to acquire wealth. Remember, everything is vanity. When you are gone, you are done. Endeavor to live your life well so that you will be remembered for the good things you did.

Yeah but what is exactly your point? People have choices, if they choose to acquire wealth in this world in the expense of others then its there problem. Can they have a good night sleep knowing that they step on someone? And those people don't fucking care what people are going to say if they died. As long as they enjoy their life to the fullest they will go and continue to do bad deeds.
6559  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto market is all time low on: August 17, 2018, 11:13:45 PM
if my suggestion for coin holders who are now experiencing price reductions do not panic and take a deep breath to be more calm, if indeed the price of the coin decreases and if it is not sold we will experience a large loss, you have to think about cutting loss or still holding until Coin prices are back up

Really hard not to panic if you see your investments is slowly going down. But for me, you have to look at your investment for the long haul, so that you will not be affected by the current market trend. Yeah, its really frustrating but it doesn't mean that we will give up already. Just keep calm and continue to accumulate when the market started to slide again.
6560  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: They want you to panic :-> on: August 17, 2018, 10:54:44 PM
some people who read here will understand. but those who are not in this forum will still panic. especially coin holders are beginners. since the rise of Bitcoin at the end of 2017, many new investors are entering bitcoin. and they suffered a loss when the price dropped until this time ... so panic selling still happened. Coin holders are still waiting for the right time to remove all their coins. and try not to panic.

I don't think that panic can be totally eliminated specially in this market, its a behavioural response, so its either fight or run. But it looks like more people are running, meaning getting out of the market because they are afraid that it might collapse. But for those who are very familiar of the situation, there's no need to be emotional and sell. Just wait till everything settles down and I'm sure that you will be happy that you didn't push that sell button.
