6541  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquiao vs Keith Thurman on July 20 on: July 11, 2019, 04:57:14 AM
Of course, it is very difficult to predict the results of the battle now, because really great fighters will enter the ring.  Even bookmakers today are in difficulty to determine the favorite, because the odds ratio for opponents is only 1.91.

Thurman is clearly the favorite, but bookmakers have changed the odds in order to adjust the crazy amounts of bets being waged in favor of Manny Pacquiao. In normal circumstances, Keith Thurman should win the fight handsomely. The only way he can lose is if he takes Manny too lightly, or become too overconfident and ignore the basics.
6542  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Cricket World Cup - Discussion & Analysis on: July 11, 2019, 04:52:28 AM
The anti-Kohli lobby (Tendulkar, Manjrekar.etc) have come all guns blazing to defend Dhoni. My personal opinion is that he should concentrate more on Test matches and retire from T20s and ODIs. Just because he enjoys the support from the team management, he can't cling on for long. Good players such as Jadeja are being denied slots in the playing XI in order to make room for Dhoni.
6543  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CWC2019 Prediction Pool - Win x BTC [Additional prize in every round] on: July 11, 2019, 04:48:54 AM
Cricket at his best. What a contest and what a match which kept the hope alive for both team till second last over. Finally NZ was marginally better and due to which they won the match . Though rain effected ystd due to which pitch was little better to bowl as well.

Jadeja played extremely well on today's match but still not enough to reach the line and the heart breaking moment for Indian fans is the run out of Dhoni,if that didn't happens the result could be changed but finally kiwis into the final and going to up against Australia I guess.

Team selection remained poor for India throughout the tournament. Ravindra Jadeja was arguably the best all rounder available and yet he played only two of the 10 matches. Mediocre players such as Kedar Jadhav, Dinesh Karthik and Vijay Shankar were given opportunities instead. Another blunder was playing two spinners (Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal) against England.
6544  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Dominance on CoinMarketCap on: July 10, 2019, 10:00:57 AM
Considering there are thousands of coins and tokens out there, what sort of dominance should Bitcoin have which shows that even though it remains the dominant force there is still a lot of space for others to narrow the gap?

Currently the BTC Dominance according to CMC is:  62.6%

The dominance stands at 65% as of now. IMO, the value for most of the altcoins come from pure speculation and their user-base and acceptability is at a level that is only a fraction of Bitcoin. Two and half years back, Bitcoin enjoyed a dominance of around 86-87% (before going down sharply due to the influx of the ICOs) and in my opinion that represents its fair valuation.
6545  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin and altcoin on: July 10, 2019, 09:57:27 AM
in these days bitcoin had a strong rise, but the other coins seem to be standing at the stake, is there a reason?
do you think that the whole market can be resumed? or will most of the altcoins fail in these months? sorry for my english=)

Bitcoin is the no.1 cryptocurrency in terms of the number of users and acceptability and that is the reason why it continues to increase in value. The value for most of the altcoins come from speculation that at some point of time in the future they may be able to overtake Bitcoin in some or all the spheres. But now it looks like these alts are not capable of doing so and therefore they are going down and BTC is increasing in value.
6546  Economy / Economics / Re: If a pyramid runs forever, is it still a pyramid? on: July 10, 2019, 09:34:07 AM
The question is basically wrong, because no pyramid can run for the infinity. Eventually the bottom tier investors need to get returns to their capital. Either they should convince new investors to join the scheme, or they should get it forcibly from those higher up. If they are able to do the first option, then the new tier of investors will face the same dilemma eventually.
6547  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CWC2019 Prediction Pool - Win x BTC [Additional prize in every round] on: July 10, 2019, 09:30:50 AM
2019 World Cup : Washout World Cup! The winner will probably hold a wet cup while the awards ceremony would take place with everyone holding umbrellas.

Can't really blame anyone here. The global weather patterns are changing due to human-induced climate change. Here in India we are having drought-like conditions in certain parts like central India and at the same time we are having flooding in some other parts. The next edition of the world cup will be even more interesting, as India will be hosting it.
6548  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin dominance hits 60%, alts lagging behind on: July 10, 2019, 09:27:12 AM
Eth and BTC are really all that deserve any attention, Bitcoin is golden and eth has its smart contracts and willingness to adapt. Bsv,bch are bullshit propped up to try and stay relevant. Ripple is dead especially when Libra eats in centralized lunch.
This dominance should be obtained by eth, but why is it that only bitcoin currently dominates up to 60%. I think maybe this is an unfair thing, but after all we have to be sure if ethereum can get the best position and if ethereum has increased maybe other altcoin coins will also increase.

Dude, Ethereum is in a very bad state right now. The exchange rate has gone below the crucial support level of 0.025 BTC per coin. Currently Ethereum is trading at 0.02384 BTC per coin and trends are overwhelmingly negative. During the past 12 months, the market share of Ethereum has gone down from approx. 17% to 9%. The destruction of the ICO market has a lot to do with this.
6549  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-21] Bitfinex Argues Why Judge Should Dismiss NYAG Case in Latest Case on: July 10, 2019, 06:43:26 AM
I am not supporting the Attorney General of New York in any part. But Tether should be more transparent about its assets. They claim that every coin is backed one-to-one against USD or equivalent assets. But then they are saying that some of the backup is made of Bitcoin. How can a volatile asset such as Bitcoin be used to backup a stablecoin?
6550  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is why I am so frustrated with bitcoin on: July 10, 2019, 06:35:10 AM
This explains everything, LOL:

Connor MacLeod, also known as The Highlander said it the best.... "In the end, there can be only one."  Wink  <If you do not know who he is, then you are too young to play with the older kids.> *joke.

Kakmakr is right. In the end, there can only be one. Bitcoin is the only true cryptocurrency and it is the only crypto that will survive to the end. I feel bad for those who made their investment with various altcoins. May be it is time to admit that there is no point in holding on to these shitcoins and move ahead. You can either convert your coins to BTC, or sell them for fiat. It is up to you to make the decision.
6551  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin dominance hits 60%, alts lagging behind on: July 10, 2019, 06:31:01 AM
One more milestone has been achieved. The Bitcoin dominance has now increased to 65.0%. As of now, the market share of various cryptocurrencies are as follows:

Bitcoin: 65.0%
Bitcoin forks (such as BCH, BSV.etc): 3.3%
Stablecoins (such as USDT, TUSD.etc): 1.2%
Altcoins: 30.5%

It is just a matter of time before the altcoin market share goes below the 30% level.
6552  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin remains the king of Crypto Market? on: July 10, 2019, 06:23:52 AM
The fact that Bitcoin's dominance is over 60% is another proof that things will not change anytime soon.

The dominance has now increased to 65%!!!!

It is surprising that there are still people who doubt the supremacy of Bitcoin. Altcoins are getting destroyed right now, and even established alts such as Ethereum and Litecoin are on their way to oblivion. Litecoin is now trading at 0.0091 BTC per coin, and if the trends continue, it may dip to as low as 0.004. Ether has also gone below the important support level of 0.025 BTC (currently trading at 0.023946 BTC, as per coinmarketcap).
6553  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin now a stable coin? on: July 10, 2019, 05:52:14 AM
Bitcoin can never be a stable coin. It's purchasing power can become more or less stable, but its exchange rate against USD will continue to increase for the foreseeable future. It is very simple actually. USD is not protected against inflation, while BTC is protected. So in normal circumstances, the BTC vs USD exchange rate should go up, as long as both the currencies exist.
6554  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pacquiao Now Stands as Favorite vs Thurman — Sportsbooks on: July 10, 2019, 05:49:11 AM
Many choose Pacman not only because he is a legend and experienced but also because his personality is very humble and respected in his country, but in a match sometimes it doesn't have much effect. Now Pacquiao 40 years old that will affect his appearance, He need to prepare his energy to win this fight.

Who knows? There is a chance that Keith Thurman may be thinking along similar lines. He may be thinking that Manny will get tired after the initial 8-9 rounds and he can go for the kill after that. From his earlier trashtalk, it looked to me that Thurman is taking Manny a bit lightly. And that can be his undoing. If he loses this fight, then it can deliver a major setback to his professional career.
6555  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CWC2019 Prediction Pool - Win x BTC [Additional prize in every round] on: July 10, 2019, 05:46:12 AM
As Indian I wish India enter in final without playing a match Tongue

Ok then we will award You (India) the world cup trophee , without playing the semi final and the final too.  Smiley
Is that OK for you ?

ROFL... If that was possible, then the ICC would definitely do that. They changed the format of the world cup, so that India has a better chance of qualifying to the playoffs. Had India crashed out during the group stage, then ICC would have lost a lot of money. Now they can sleep in peace, as it is almost assured that India will be playing in the finals.

I am yet to come across a sports body, that is more greedy than the ICC.
6556  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2019 betting [ODDS UPDATED] on: July 10, 2019, 05:43:36 AM
I vote for Lewis Hamilton, he is best racing man, i don't think we will see anyone better than him in the coming generation, because i read an article about him that he is considered the best driver of the generation. So my voting is always for him.

Lewis Hamilton and Raheem Sterling are the favorites as they have huge fan following in England. On the other hand, I consider individuals like Tyson Fury and Ronnie O’Sullivan more talented than Hamilton and Sterling, but they lack the star power. Ronnie has definitely dropped out of the favorites list, after his loss to James Cahill in April.
6557  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Cricket World Cup - Discussion & Analysis on: July 10, 2019, 05:39:55 AM
It is true that when both countries have played rain has interrupted the match. But just if match happens fully then NZ have some great bowlers and that score chasing in semi finals is a pressure one so already chasing say 240 is like 280 on the minds and thus NZ still have a good chance to be in the game.

Even scoring 240 is going to be extremely difficult, as Jaspreet Bumrah will be bowling half of the remaining overs.  The spinners don't have any overs remaining so I guess the other two may be bowled by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. And if somehow they are able to score in the vicinity of 240, it is simply not enough to beat India. Any score less than 300 is going to be cakewalk for Kohli & Co.
6558  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin will to the moon? Trust me!! invest now before you regret it. on: July 09, 2019, 08:20:17 AM
LOL.... we can expect these sort of posts when Litecoin is sinking. It is like the "last sigh of the Moor". Please check the market data first before making these threads. LTC has lost the no.4 position and it has been relegated to no.5 (in terms of market cap). The trade volumes are down, and the exchange rate against BTC has fallen by 6.5% during the last 24 hours. And LTC has fallen below the psychologically important mark of BTC0.01 (currently it is trading at BTC0.00968 per coin).
6559  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Cricket World Cup - Discussion & Analysis on: July 09, 2019, 08:13:25 AM
Small correction, Don't know you remember or not but the Pakistani team played 5 ODI and 1 T20 against the English team in England, just before the World cup. They were literally camping there.

Oh... my bad... Yes... Pakistan was there in England since April 2019. Somehow forgot that. And if I am not wrong, Sri Lanka also played a few matches in Ireland and Scotland before the world cup. That means that India was the only South Asian nation that didn't had sufficient preparation. So it looks like failing to acclimatize was not one of the reasons.
6560  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CWC2019 Prediction Pool - Win x BTC [Additional prize in every round] on: July 09, 2019, 08:08:31 AM
For India, the only weak spot is the middle order (even that is debatable). In that case, should they decide to bowl first if Kohli wins the toss? The New Zealand batsmen (apart from Williamson) are not in good form recently, and the Indian pacers like Mohammad Shami and Jaspreet Bumrah may be able to take a few quick wickets and put them under pressure. What is your opinion?
