@Sho, I hope my question doesn't get too buried in this thread: how long should the negative feedback stand in the case that all continues to go fine with dadice?

A simple signed message will do, I dont think time can restore the faith in them.

people have played on dadice and will play on it as most of them dont care about cold storage and stuff they just want good design and thats it

Ok, I care and my warning is for those that do. You are free to ignore it.

Oooh, you are advertising a ponzi, I get it.

Not really sure what that has to do with what I said...

New users have default trust so when they see people with scores of +10 and +20 they will assume they are trusted. The old system that would be sort of correct, but with the new system it can be someone with only a few old positive ratings.

+10 does not make you trustworthy its the comparisson that makes +10 look high and thus trustworthy. With people like you around (+403 on my list) 10 still looks small.

Besides Im not sure I trusted those fancy numbers when I came here, I wonder why this is a common assumption. IMHO it makes more sense to assume that people comeing here to trade take their time to understand the system first.
6585  Other / Meta / Re: Does this happens a lot, I saw this for the first time. on: May 21, 2015, 07:04:16 PM
I guess it's some kind of SQL Database error , After searching I found on reddit this answer from Theymos so I'am not sure if it's the same issue or it's just a default message for a lot of issues .

Code:
It was a technical issue while I was sleeping. It's fixed now.
How it happened was that Slickage was downloading a big chunk of the database for testing without turning off some SQL transaction stuff, so ~10 hours into their query, some configured limit was reached (probably the size of the InnoDB undo log), blocking all other queries. The disk wasn't actually full.
(You might be worried about the security of letting someone have access to the live database, but they are restricted via SQL permissions to only reading non-sensitive columns.)

Is that regarding the current situation or the last issue when the first assumption was that the server had a raid crash?

IMO, dadice never scammed anyone, why those people attack them, lol.

Do not consider it an attack, but a warning. If I feel the need to warn others it would be strange to advertise for the service at the same time. If I would keep advertising even though I feel the need to warn others but keep quiet because I get paid so well I would be corrupt.

The "they never scammed anyone" argument has been said for every shady service in the past. They always pay until they no longer do. As I said above, I dont want them to fail, Id like it very much if I am just paranoid because of my experience in the past and there is nothing but bright skies ahead.

Okay mr. intense. Like I'm sure somebody would really be concerned to lose 20 pence

No, it did not bother me, but its also not something Im willing to do or on a regular basis. Its like I particularly care for some anonymous entity that I will never see again and I have never seen before. Maybe if you contribute here next year someone will give you a few dollar worth of coins.

Consider the real world equivalent. Someone you dont know asks for 20$ and they promise to return it to you X days later just show up at the same place and at the same time again. Would you do it?
6589  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 0.1 BTC loan no collateral on: May 21, 2015, 05:51:30 AM
Again, it's only 12 dollars now. Dont fuck with me man. I'm in a phase. Shocked

Dont blame us for learning from past mistakes, blame those that scammed for 20 cents in the past.

EDIT: I also want to stay away from any drama.  I'm not an investor in the site but at the moment I'm not seeing the sketchy part of this and I'm wondering if competitors of dadice are merely stirring up FUD to hurt their business.  I dunno the facts, but I'm curious about the motivations of the parties involved.

Didnt see your edit. I see the sketchy part. I have been blind in the past. I just cant stand on the sidelines and let this unfold any longer. I dont like drama either and will do my best to avoid it, but I also feel I have to make sure the warning signs are seen.

Wow.
Shocked at this, surprised you're almost bowing down to peer pressure here shorena just because a few rival sites seem intent to shit talk da dice.
You're probably the best poster on the sig campaign.
Shame to see you go mate.

Other dice sites have nothing to do with this, besides maybe other sites that have scammed in the past. This was the best signature campaign I every participated in. I hope Im wrong and there will all be a happy end next month.

The stats are broken. The counter only goes up, thus if you invest 10 times 1 BTC it will show 10 BTC invested even though you never had that much BTC in the first place.
6593  Economy / Gambling / Re: Recent dadice.com development on: May 20, 2015, 09:47:36 PM
From what I can tell, these complaints add up to this:

Someone wants proof about bankroll, dadice decides not to provide proof.

Is there really anything more to it than that?

I can see why they wouldn't feel good about revealing their resources to Stunna (their biggest competitor, right?).

Im willing to remove the ratings if a trusted, neutral party (e.g. devthedev, tomatocage, DannyHamilton) has verified the bankroll.

Its not only the fact that they do not make the existence of funds public, but also the attitude towards IMHO valid criticism. They come up with new reasons for every one that is refuted. I have seen this highly defensive behaviour in the past and I cant say that any good came out of it.

Wouldn't be the first time a dice site has gone rogue. Anyone remember the previous two?

You are probably refering to dice.ninja and dicebitco.in.

-removed formatting-
I just want to add my two cent worth of thoughts here...

You are welcome to.

1. Someone mentioned DaDice hot wallet earlier (https://blockchain.info/address/1HMAgvunJzr3HoRAUFg3VuU2UJm9KWDjFu) and its clear Da Dice has paid 108+ BTC, Which is a very reasonable amount for a new dice site.

Yes I checked that, the address was funded by their deposit addresses. ~600 different ones IIRC. Which is a reasonable amount of players for a new dice site.

2. Da Dice as far as I have seen has been honouring all withdrawal requests. I have seen users been paid up to 18 BTC per request here.

3. The only person who should be demanding a cold storage address is the one who is investor of Da Dice himself. No other person, 3rd party casino owner has any right to tell Da Dice how to run there business. You cannot compel Da Dice to do something just because you have done it or somebody else would have done it.

The way they handle this is the reason I am not an investor currently.

4. Da Dice doesn't promote/spread/chant "Invest Here!!!" slogans. Da Dice (as its well known) started with Bankroll of 500 BTC, If over 108+ BTC have been paid out, and Bank roll is nearly double right now it is a VERY HEALTHY sign from Da Dice.

It is claimed that they have 500 BTC, it is not "well known".

5. Da Dice doesn't force its users to invest. Investors are free to do their own due diligence proir to making any sort of decision, anyone including dean and stunna have no right to do this for others. Making an investment or not on Da Dice is solely on any individual's own determination. Da Dice doesn't force its users to invest nor any sort of investment is required to benefit from Da Dice.

I am not forcing anyone either. It is however important to makeing an educated choice to see different opinions on a matter. If you are only ever confronted with a single perspective how is your decision to follow it an educated one?

6. Sharing your "concerns" here 1 time is reasonable, doing it again and again is SPAMMING and THREAD HIJACKING.

I like how you just copied this even though it is not applicable here.

7. Last but not least, let us also agree to the fact that no other dice site would be threatned right now if they also didn't agree to fact that Da Dice is gaining popularity very fast and is (for fact) way superior then all other current ones in industry.

Keep it Simple!

Sure if no one cares about you, no one will criticise you.
6594  Economy / Gambling / Recent dadice.com development on: May 20, 2015, 09:21:39 PM
Today I resigned from the dadice.com signature campaign and left negative ratings on all known dadice accounts.

I would like to use this thread to explain my reasons behind this. There is a full copy of their thread linked below if you want to read everything in detail.

#1 NLNico asked for a cold storrage address to be made public in order to verify the bankroll.
screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/VCoewnP.png

#2 They declined because crowd funding is below 10% of the site
screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/FpWzbHl.png

#3 After this was not accepted as a reason, they stated "others dont do it either"
screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/Dgxi0Qx.png

#4 After they have been presented with a list of examples of others that show their cold storrage address, they stated they have a large secret investor that prohibits this for privacy concerns.
screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/FTDDH0o.png

#5 After they have been made aware that this makes them look shady and might hurt their business, they stated that its a risk they are willing to take.
screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/OKUReNF.png

#6 A quick summary of arguments by NLNico.
screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/EekzAxc.png

#7 The privacy issue is not a valid point (as was nicely explained by NLNico) due to the fact that the majority of the bankroll is provided by the dadice team themselves and could thus be presented.
screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/iIwNVU4.png

#8 They answer: we dont do it, period.
screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/eE2puVY.png

#9 Stunna offers to vouch for them.
screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/Md27P5z.png

#10 They still refuse to provide anything and instead disable investments.
screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/jX9zBiY.png

There is also plenty of drama regarding this, I tried to keep this out of this post as much as possible.

Every reasonable argument has been stubbornly waved aside by the dadice team. Many of the arguments given have been used by other services that turned bad in the past. I obviously can not predict the future and have no way of knowing whether they will run with your funds or not, providing a cold storrage address will also not prevent this sort of events[1], but I do not recommend playing or investing there. They show all warning signs of a scam.

@Netpyder,
Can you explain this in more detail??? Would like a complete explanation on this...
And I think Mods should have a look into such cases as how activity reaches such levels, is it good???
Also, does the 14 day thing only matter here or it also takes time into consideration???

when is the next activity date? ill make one and it will be a faster explanation

See the thread MZ linked, but to be exact you will have to create an account any time from now (time and date of unedited post) until 2015.05.25 11:33:20 (24 hours before next activity period) and have over 28 activity any time before 2015.06.09 11:39:59 (1 second before the activity period following the next).

Its actually ~6.5 minutes longer than 15 days.

All times are forum times.
6597  Other / Meta / Re: "Quickseller" marked my account red rating with no evidence in ANGER, UNETHICAL on: May 20, 2015, 03:46:25 PM
-snip-

My point is, that if someone has a reputation of accurately outing scammers then the scammer will not bother to ask for proof because he knows it can be provided. As what happened in this case, if proof is requested then it can be provided (it was quickly provided when asked for by the OP).

Also not all deals are done openly via threads. It is not uncommon for a deal to be done entirely via PM when one person sees a post indicating that they have something for sale/want to buy something (for example person B posting on person A's thread offering to buy a widget, then person C can PM person B to try to work out a deal if A and B cannot reach a deal.

I think we just have to agree to disagree here. I value your input because it is well researched not because it comes from a certain account. Maybe I am the minority here that does not make the standards less important.

If it is like you say that building a reputation to leave an accurate rating is enough than it is exactly like the long con with trades. If any dispute will just be seen as a scammer causing drama and no evidence is requested or vetted a position on DT can easily be exploited.
6598  Other / Meta / Re: Question: If i Promote my Loan request on P2P platform on: May 20, 2015, 03:35:43 PM
If you were to sell your altcoins then you would need to pay trading commissions to an exchange and would miss out on any price appreciation that happens during what would have been the term of the loan.

Another good example of "good" collateral used for loans would be physical Bitcoin, as these are often valued well above their face value and their owners often do not wish to part with them

This is good collateral. You could quickly sell it, but you dont want to. So you give it to someone else for security. You want it back, they dont actually want to sell it. If everything works out both parties are happy. If not you lost something you did not want to lose and the person providing the loan has the extra work to sell it.
6599  Other / Meta / Re: delete Investor-based games section on: May 20, 2015, 11:27:48 AM

Get it?

All I understood is that you are apparently unable to argue. Your parables makes no sense as they are none. You try to project your assumptions that the games are scams into them which render them useless. Repeating the same boring and tiresome dance is useless. Maybe our next discussion will make do without these.
6600  Other / Meta / Re: Delete this account on: May 20, 2015, 11:18:50 AM
I can explain this (CMIIW)
Activity counted every 14 days So Netpyder wrote 14 posts while 1 day before activity counted (So in 1 day he could earn 14 activity)
And then after the activity conted he just keep posting until the next 14 days, so that's why he could reached Jr.Member just in 15 days Smiley

Yes 28 activity after 15 days, which is not enough for Jr. (30 activity).

-snip-
i know about the link, was perplexed too. so i created another account to check.

create an account 2 days before activity. post 90 valid post, easy to do if you dont spam. my activity became 28 in 1.5 days.

That is not possible. You either posted in both periods and get 28 activity or you posted in a single period and get 14 activity.

wait for activity change. 1 day later, post 20 valis posts. activity changes every hour + 5 minutes.

Activity is recalculated every 30 minutes AFAIK. The time points that are limiting your activity are only changing every 14 days.

there you go. but it wont happen over jr member. i was at 52-54 activity in 5 days on the other account.
i tried more, thinking more post = more level. which makes it obvious the posts starts to become more or less spams. i got banned. well nevermind, didnt even claim it back, was just trying to see how high i can get

Nevermind. I will leave you to your illusion that you can spam your way to higher activity levels.
