661  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: there is no screen to be attached matching miner on: September 27, 2017, 01:38:20 PM
This error simply pops up because the miner console might be attached to remote screening or SSH. An example of nvOC setting for this:

If it's local, mining process will show on the screen itself but if its remote, the screen will display, "There is no screen to be attached matching miner" and you'll have to SSH to IP of this rig to see the mining process.
Find this option and change it to LOCAL. Done!

BTW, if you're running a Nvidia rig, why not give nvOC a try. It's really good.
662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Miner hosting? L3+ x2 and GPU's? anyone know of a place in the USA? on: September 27, 2017, 01:29:14 PM
I've read about this not a long time back. The project name is Giga Watt and by the looks of it, they might be the best hosting solution out there. Just check them out: https://giga-watt.com/
663  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best Mining Settings for my Rigs on: September 27, 2017, 01:26:31 PM
GTX 1060s can do 24.5 MH/s ETH easily considering GPUs have Samsung Memory. (Check with GPU-z) [If yes, -150/800 Core/Mem will get you there]
GTX 1070 is alright with 30.5 MH/s ETH but you'll be better off with other coins like Zcash Classic, Hush, etc. (Just search around)
GTX 1080ti can also hash around 750 Sol/s, but you might have to push power limits on them.
664  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PCI Riser V08 need help! on: September 26, 2017, 06:23:04 PM
Seems like a really poor design having the molex and the PCIe pointing up towards the card like that. It would be a real mess powering them that way.

Exactly what I thought when I first saw them! Molex and 6-pin will practically be unusable considering their placement on board.
665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Radeon Pro Duo on: September 26, 2017, 06:20:03 PM
As much as I know, Workstation GPUs sucks in mining any crypto coin. They don't suck but they cost a lot and doesn't crunch more hash rate than the gaming ones does. Considering your suggestion, Radeon Pro Duo Professional cost around USD 999 and they won't even reach break even in years to come. So, a no go.
666  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gigabyte GA-Z270P-D3 (rev. 1.0) M2>PCIE possible? on: September 25, 2017, 01:05:56 PM
You can definitely run additional GPU from M2 adapter on your motherboard. The common mistake that I've made all the time have I never screwed down the M2 adapter which caused the pins to not align with M2 slot on the motherboard. It should work or else try another M2 adapter. There is no guarantee that each one will work.
667  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gygabite GTX1060 OC issue on: September 25, 2017, 01:00:05 PM
Try this config with MSI AB.
+155/+100 Core/Mem. Power target - 70%. It should provide pretty results.
Moreover, you're overpowering your GPUs and PSU. No need of 115% Power target.
668  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: best non nvidia card for 9th gpu? on: September 25, 2017, 12:55:02 PM
If you want to stick with Windows. I don't think you have any other option than to go with AMD for the 9th GPU. Tbh, RX 580 works well compared to other AMD counterparts. Vega is good for nicehash but the power consumption is off the roof. It all drops down to two best options for AMD. Either RX580 or Vega.
669  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Powersave BIOS for Sapphire RX470 Nitro (non+) 4gb? on: September 24, 2017, 11:32:40 AM
Windows 10 Latest Version --> Latest Blockchain AMD Drivers --> Claymore v10.0 --> Set Core clock and Memory clock using -clock and -mclock in Claymore --> Set Core voltage and Memory voltage using -cvddc and -mvddc. You'll be back to your previous power consumption. (Note: Don't forget to bios mod GPUs).
670  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: installing multiple GPU on my ASUS ROG STRIX X370-F GAMING on: September 22, 2017, 01:21:18 PM
If you're ever going with multiple GPUs in your system, you're better off using risers always. First, check if the risers are problematic. Switch the working risers with the other one and see if they work. If all four are alright. Head to bios settings and change the PCIe lane speed of x16 and x1 lane to GEN1 for all the slots. That should probably do the trick.
671  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Dual PSU combine different PSUs on: September 21, 2017, 06:17:50 PM
You can definitely use the cable that you have mentioned. It'll work just fine to connect your PSUs in one system. Just for future, you'll be better off if you consider same rating and same company PSU for dual PSU set-ups. It's better that way.
As philejmath said:

All risers, cpu, mobo, sata on one PSU and all the GPUs on the second PSU.
Is the best way for dual PSU configuration.
672  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: A few questions for setting up multiple Antminers in my house: L3+ and D3 on: September 20, 2017, 01:39:49 PM
1. It is perfectly fine if you run 2 L3+ on a 20 amp circuit if nothing else is connected to that circuit drawing power. Definitely run them on two different outlets.
2. Are you suggesting to connect 5/6 different Extension cords from upstairs to downstaris connecting them one by one? If yes, get just one extension cord with preferable length such as 10-15 meter or so with built in surge protector. Their won't be much difference in price.
3. No, I don't think its required. Bitmain ++ Power Supplies are actually platinum server PSUs which are very efficient and comes with all kinds of protection built in.

Two similar posts asking the same question? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2193686.0
Try to avoid that in future.

In most of the times, mining doesn't rely much on the processing speed of the CPU. The only important thing is if the CPU supports that many GPUs (PCI-e Lane Sharing). Well, with the options you listed - any of the both can do the job just fine.
675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Getting 5th GPU to Mine with MSI Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon Motherboard on: September 19, 2017, 05:51:30 PM
Let's make a checklist for troubleshooting, shall we?
First, Head to BIOS and update it.
Second, Enable 4G Decoding.
Third, Check if any x1 or x16 lane is problematic by heading to bios hardware detection section. (Google it)

This should be enough to solve your Code 12, inefficient resource available.
Reason: This problem pops up because our motherboard, in usual is made to work with up to 4 GPUs, after which resource allocation becomes an issue, for which enabling Above 4G Decoding enables resource availability for fifth GPU and so. In most cases, this is the solution for it.

Do I need to do something? or any issue with the pool??

There is quite some delay. Just moved the wallet to server with lot more RAM.

Hope it'll catch up soon.

677  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining rig 6 gtx1060 6gb keeps on crashing since last Thursday on: September 18, 2017, 10:01:44 AM
Yes, exactly and that seemed to be the problem.

This is the cable that burned.

All my other PSU are shorted alone and they work fine.

Thanks a ton for your feedback. Actually, I've always used this for my dual PSU set-ups.

I wanted to give the cable that I've posted above, a try. I might change my decision after your feedback though.  Smiley

@Nokia555. You're doing an awesome job with this monitoring app buddy. I've been using it since the launch of this monitoring software and the advancement you've made with this, Totally worth it. Keep up the good work!
If someone is in need of a monitoring app for their miner. I know exactly where to send them.  Wink
679  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mine new coin: VoteCoin - equihash, very low difficulty now on: September 18, 2017, 09:54:22 AM
hi, please advice,
is it any Windows wallet? as i can see it's only linux now.
so i can't mine without address

There is no windows wallet available as of now. Yes, you can mine without an address but on someone's else address and you probably won't get your coins. So, getting your own address is a must. Follow the guide, set up votecoin node, generate an address, backup private key and you're good to go.
680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any upcoming new ASICs? on: September 18, 2017, 09:43:06 AM
You can follow twitter accounts and regularly check their website of ASIC companies like Bitmain, Bailkal, Innosilicon, BW, AwalonMiner, PinIdea and much more.
