661  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: ELI5 on taxes in Croatia please? on: March 16, 2024, 07:46:29 AM
I have close family members living in Germany and I don't remember them complaining about having a problem finding place to to live. Then again, they live in smaller cities so maybe that's the reason.
662  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Possible method for cold wallet spend with bitcoin core. on: March 15, 2024, 06:11:20 PM
If I were you, I'd buy myself an airgapped device instead of a hardware wallet. Either Foundation Passport or SeedSigner. It is an opportunity to educate yourself about the Bitcoin space as well.
I would add the Blockstream Jade to that group. It can be used as a normal hardware wallet (not-airgapped) or as a stateless signer, as it uses SeedQRs just like the Seedsigner. The one thing that is questionable is that it requires Bluetooth or USB connection with the Blockstream Green software wallet during the initial setup to download the firmware. After that, everything can be done with QR code scanning. The official shop is in the US, but they have a bunch of resellers all over the place.
663  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Are bitcoin core psbt and electrum psbt cross compatible? on: March 15, 2024, 02:58:02 PM
Yeah, I'm not certain what it means about the fees being later maliciously adjusted.

Seems strange.

Does it mean.

A. If you had 10 bitcoins in your wallet someone could charge the entire 10btc in fees
Even though only want to send 0.01btc to the recipient and want to spend 0.0002 in fees.
I have never heard of such an attack or read about someone suffering from it. I remember seeing mentions of maliciously altered fees, but that's all. I don't know how it's possible to modify a transaction that was already signed by a private key that only you have access to. Wouldn't such a modification require access to the signing keys because it's different transaction data @nc50lc? In that case, you would need to ask yourself who has got your private keys?

665  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: What to know of Nodes and Running a Node on: March 15, 2024, 02:39:33 PM
That's because of the conservative design decisions made by the Core developers. Because IF they did what the Ethereum developers are currently doing, it will definitely be harder to run Bitcoin using consumer hardware, then the network will centralize towards the entities who could afford to run full nodes, weaking Bitcoin's value proposition. How then would the community validate the blockchain for themselves?
Ethereum has never been user-centric. Their philosophy is worlds apart from that of Bitcoin. It has always been a network where a selected few who belong to the Ethereum Foundation has the say on the future. Just remember the big DAO hack of many years ago when these 'big' players lost. What did they do? They simply clicked the restart button, and it never happened. That same button would never have been hit if you and me lost that money or anyone else of less importance to them.
666  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🐳 @Whale - Whale.io 🐳 💰 Daily Cashbacks 💰 #SometimesLoseAlwaysWin on: March 14, 2024, 08:12:07 PM
Interesting slogan. I mean the #SometimesLoseAlwaysWin from your subject.
It's true to some degree. You get cashback when you lose, retrieving a part of your lost wagers. Is the cashback applicable only for lost wagers or all bets in a specific time frame? Most casinos give cashback only for losses, but occasionally, you can find one that considers all bets.

A tip. Perhaps you shouldn't call the supported altcoins shitcoins. They are, but still. Maybe some of your players will take offence. Cheesy
667  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: BTSE on: March 14, 2024, 04:54:42 PM

668  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Novosti on: March 14, 2024, 04:44:09 PM

669  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: What to know of Nodes and Running a Node on: March 14, 2024, 04:29:27 PM
Many people keep repeating that nodes need more storage, but it's not the actual concern. Storage is cheap. It's bandwidth that's currently the potential problem because in some regions they are more expensive. RAM and CPU are also getting more expensive, and that might also be another concern if network consensus allows more transaction throughput.
One usually follows the other. If I can afford or want to purchase a PC/laptop with good amount of RAM and a CPU, I can do the same with storage. And I can also invest in an internet package that supplies me with the bandwidth that I need to run my full node. But you are right in stating that there are areas where all this is unfortunately still a luxury.
670  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Are bitcoin core psbt and electrum psbt cross compatible? on: March 14, 2024, 04:23:09 PM
Yeah I'm confused why I get a warning that qr code can not contain all the data of the psbt unsigned tx.
When I scan it on the airgapped machine it gives a warning yellow triangle says cant put the fees and it can be maliciously changed.
I think it's telling you that there is a possibility that someone could change and try to manipulate the transaction. That doesn't mean it will happen. After all, it's you creating it and you broadcasting it afterwards. Why don't you try the entire process with a small amount of a few dollars to see if it will work. Create a $5 BTC transaction on your online machine, bring it over to your airgapped computer for signing, and finally broadcast it on the online computer.

I probably shouldn't use that usb again even though I do format it straight away as soon as I used the psbt from it
Good idea. Use it only as a communication medium between your hot and cold wallet and format it every time on either end if you are worried about catching malware.

Someone suggested to me you can break the unsigned data into parts and make several qr codes but I got lost on his idea.
That's again adding new complexities to the transaction creation process that don't need to be there.
671  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Have Bitcoin, looking for USDT on Tron and DAI on: March 13, 2024, 07:30:52 PM
Edit:
I am now also willing to accept DAI in exchange for BTC.
Post here and PM me your offers.
672  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Green Energy Subsidies on: March 13, 2024, 05:06:24 PM
Bitcoin miners aren't opting for dirty sources of energy because they hate the planet and want to help in its destruction. It's very simple: they are using the cheapest energy they possibly can to make money and make as much as they can. Unfortunately, that's fossil fuels. It it was wind, hydropower, or electricity from solar panels and there was enough of it for bitcoin mining and other community needs, they would use that.
673  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: apogio's Bitcoin Tools & Tutorials on: March 13, 2024, 04:52:20 PM
I am sceptical now, whether I should implement it or not.
Perhaps I shouldn't, because I know that seoincorporation is aware he shouldn't use it, but I can't be sure for other people too.
Do whatever you like. Don't let what I said stop you from developing what you like and creating your own tools. However, I would make sure that I place a visible warning for the brain wallet generator in a way so that anyone who wants to use it sees the notification. That should stop people creating such wallets and funding them. With such a warning, you have done your part of informing people about the dangers. It's their job to take it seriously.
674  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Are bitcoin core psbt and electrum psbt cross compatible? on: March 13, 2024, 04:47:26 PM
I have never been a fan of overcomplicating things and trying to come up with non-traditional systems. It's one thing to be interested in learning and experimenting. That's ok. But creating an unorthodox setup increases the risk that you took a wrong step somewhere which could prove costly. Both Electrum and Bitcoin Core can run as hot or cold wallets. All the user has to do is to pick one or the other. There really is no increase in security to combine the two. And perhaps it can cause compatibility issues of some sort in the future.
675  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: apogio's Bitcoin Tools & Tutorials on: March 13, 2024, 04:36:08 PM
Hey apogio, is there any plan to add a brain wallet generator to your tools list?
To use it for testing and playing around with, sure. But it should never be advertised as a way to generate your keys. Brain wallets aren't safe. And we humans are bad at randomly picking anything. Such a wallet would be less safe than one created from random sources of entropy. It could lead to loss of funds if you were to deposit bitcoin into a wallet created that way that would then get brute forced by someone.
676  Economy / Reputation / Re: Standing Strong Against Unjust Attacks: A Call for Community Support on: March 13, 2024, 04:19:08 PM
To tell you the truth, I am not sure your signature campaign manager will like your very offensive comment about him.
Were is the offensive comment about him exactly you neanderthal? Can't you tell I am making fun of your coloring skills? You are a bit slow, aren't you? The type that gets the joke the day after.

I don't like it because he is a very serious campaign manager as far as I can tell.
Kissing ass won't get people to support you. Nice try, though.

BTW many years ago I was also the first to shout scam and warned that Moneypot owners will pull the rug. what they eventually did.
Congratulations! Did you get yourself a nice coloring book to celebrate? It can help you to stay within the lines while coloring pandas, tigers, various birds, etc.

Watching your failed attempts to stir up drama has been fun. But I have no intention to talk to you anymore. It's been going on for too long already. I will not be replying to your uninspiring colored posts any longer. Try and get someone else's attention. I will only get involved in the discussions if I get tagged or quoted by other users.

Try not to bite your tongue off out of frustration or anger that no one took you seriously. Wink
677  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum seed words on Trezor Hardware Wallet on: March 13, 2024, 04:00:50 PM
I keep my Bitcoin air gapped as I think it's safer than on Trezor that requires regular firmware updates.
A properly airgapped computer is safer than a hardware wallet connected to the internet.

The Trezor wallet is only for smaller amounts as quicker to sign a transaction.  Yes I will buy another Trezor should it fail, but I like knowing the seed words and pass phrase also work on an air gapped Electrum wallet.
OK, good. I was worried that your intentions were to export your seed from Trezor and import it into an Electrum hot wallet. Electrum supports BIP-39 seed phrases and Electrum's native seed format, so you shouldn't have problems there. The only other software wallet I know of that supports both seed formats is Blue Wallet.
678  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: USDT na Liquid Networku on: March 12, 2024, 08:29:28 PM

679  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Have Bitcoin, looking for USDT on Tron on: March 12, 2024, 08:14:33 PM
Hi, I have some USDT, if you want let me know
Hello,

I have two users that I have traded with already. You didn't state how much you have.
Send me a PM with your offer, so that I can consider it in the future. If I like it, I will contact you when I need more tether.
680  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: BTSE on: March 12, 2024, 04:58:21 PM

Ako neki admin zaluta, izbrisat će ti temu. Šteta je. Stavi kod u svoj signature potpis, svakako nemaš tu ništa napisano.
