661  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: user vortex20000 is a scammer !! ban him now !! on: October 10, 2015, 09:02:01 AM
The IP the RAT was connecting to (assumed RAT, connects on port 20000 and not HTTP bot nor IRC): 217.42.14.74
Reason : vortex doesnt have access to COMPUTER until monday, so until then things cant be sorted out, on monday i will update.
These two statements seem to be contradictory to each-other.

I think he meant personal computer, not any computer. One can always use public or other people's computers

And never execute files send by unknown people in the same OS that you store your BTC and login into your accounts, specially if you use windows or if the unknown comes from BTC world.
662  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is Kraken down? on: October 10, 2015, 08:56:54 AM

you can always test here:

http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/

just put www.kraken.com/ and press enter
663  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 2 BTC in 2 months on: October 10, 2015, 08:53:53 AM
Spam loans is not a good idea, only will waste your time and destroy your account, because I think even the nigerian prince scam has bigger rate of sucess these days.

If you really need money you always have the traditional work or you can sell stuff you don't need or take a loan if you you owe money to criminals(at least the bank won't kill you and your family)

665  Other / Meta / Re: [HeLp]Lost my bitcointalk account.Proved Ownership.Still not reset! on: October 09, 2015, 05:42:34 AM
Recover accounts has very low priority for the admins. I think you should expect weeks for the account be recovered, not days

(btw signature verifies)

by the way, I think you are suposed to include the link to the post in your message
I sended the exact signature and link to themos
And this verifies it's my account and he should reset my email and password but no response from him
Any other admin that can help me?

I think only BadBear and Theymos can reset accounts.

And I was wrong when I said that you need to put the link in the signed message, please disregard what I said

667  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happened to all the old timers? on: October 09, 2015, 05:26:36 AM
The smart and early adopt people already earned enough and are doing whatever rich people use to do, so the only people left are the trolls and the unpreparated people.

Sadly
668  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 09, 2015, 05:23:47 AM
Gemini's low trading volume could also be due to the lag in wire transfers. Give it a week and we will find out.

they need to verify people's ID too before they can trade, I think it will have more impact than the lag of wire transfer
669  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gemini's launch and impact on Bitcoin price on: October 09, 2015, 05:21:48 AM
No effect so far, good or bad.

I think not much people will go for Gemini because of all docs required for sign-up
670  Economy / Economics / Re: How to save money. on: October 09, 2015, 05:08:53 AM
Lately i'm doing this experiment or test if this can help me save Bitcoins from my earnings, I opened an account from Poloinex and every time I get paid from my signature campaign, faucets and any profits I get from trading I set aside a certain amount or percentage that I transfer to my Poloinex account and I never look at how much I have there already, I just check the transaction ID if transaction went through. I'm looking at 2-3 months of testing and i'm hoping to get positive results.

Why Poloniex? Why not a cold storage wallet? I think cold storage is better because would be harder to use it, so will be less likely that you spend the coins by impulse
671  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: The fee income is the future for bitcoin on: October 09, 2015, 03:26:42 AM
I can't see a scenario where the fee reward will be low for the end user and the block reward will be negligible, unless there is a huge adoption and the block size is heavily increase.

At 1 MB of block size, I think the fees will be too high
672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best long term storage. on: October 09, 2015, 02:09:01 AM
discreetly design the key as a piece in a tattoo sleeve

But you still can lose your skin in some kind of acident, and I think that walk with a private key is always a risk, even if hidden.

And if you die and your body is not recovered, the keys are lost forever. I think OP wants the keys safe even if he dies
673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best long term storage. on: October 09, 2015, 01:57:03 AM

They may last for more than 5000 years. Of course you'll have some work and learning ahead, and you'll need a place to put your stone without arising suspicion, but if the storage place don't blow up, then I don't know how it can be destroyed in less than some millennia
674  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Use cases. What do you actually use Bitcoin for? on: October 09, 2015, 01:52:14 AM

How can you use BTC to climb pyramids Huh

I use to trade and transfer money and put money in a safe place where others can't reach.

Just it.

Acceptance still is too low
675  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you holding your bitcoin for a price increase? on: October 09, 2015, 01:50:27 AM
No.

I expect price doesn't fall and I don't lose, but I have no hope that it will skyrocket.

Better don't have big expectatives, so you'll never be disappointed
676  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin maleabity attack - who made it and is it still running? on: October 09, 2015, 01:44:33 AM
i read somewhere that somebody said its him doing the attack yet i cannot find this post.

so my questio nis - who did this attack and is it still running?

marcotheminer said something about maleability issues with the bot that affected some users from the bit-x campaign.

I thought the problem has been solved long ago after the Gox thing Huh
677  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: sending bitcoin to users in china on: October 09, 2015, 01:43:10 AM
How big is the amount? You may have problems with bank and maybe legal problems if you can't prove that the money has been obtained legally.

But you still can use localbitcoins or withdraw slowly
678  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you really feel comfortable giving away all the information Gemini requests? on: October 09, 2015, 01:15:38 AM
I won't give my information when I don't need have too. Specially when I don't know about how they handle their security.

Then I will not use Gemini
