669  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [Pre Announcement] PHPCoin on: July 14, 2011, 08:05:27 PM
By now just someone with good design skills, later, as I publish it to GitHUB or SourceForge, PHP developers may join too. At this stage would mess up a bit as we may use different coding ways, making it inconsistent.

The overall goal is to provide an OpenSource system able to be used locally (like SWAT for Samba for an instance), or served in the web for services like MyBitcoin.

Been looking for something like this for quite a while,
please let us know when its up.

Cheers

671  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Someone spamming the MtGox userlist with TradeHill referral spam on: June 19, 2011, 11:28:23 PM
Just got this in my email..  not cool!

Quote
Dear Sir or Madam,

A few hours ago the Bitcoin trading website Mt Gox has been hacked. Malicious individuals have been able to obtain a database containing usernames, email address and encrypted passwords. This information has been posted publicly on the internet.

As a Bitcoin supporter I'm now sending a message to every email address contained in the hacked database. This is to warn you that your username, email address and password have been leaked. I therefore strongly advice you to change your passwords. If you have used the same password on different websites it's highly recommended to change your password on all of your accounts!

For a more secure alternative to Mt Gox, the community appears to be moving to TradeHill. So this is no reason to lose faith in Bitcoin itself. It must be seen as a warning that not every website can be trusted with your data however! Their link is http://www.tradehill.com/?r=TH-R15683 (Note: You can remove the Referral Code when registering if you want!) This is certainly not the only website where you can exchange Bitcoins, also check out http://www.thebitcoinlist.com/dp_bitcoin/bitcoin-exchange/

Sincerely,

A Bitcoin supporter

Disappointed to see a lack of PTC links yet. Are you making these affordable to advertisers? You should make the cost for inclusion in this section variable, with links displayed in order of profitability...

Unfortunately no ptc ads have been snapped up yet,
when some have been purchased they will available
to click within the members area.
676  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Introducing: btcsurf.com in soft launch on: May 19, 2011, 12:40:00 PM
Soo.. (@ #3), the credits can only be spent on your site to buy page views. There is no benefit of sitting and viewing 500 of them unless you plan to advertise?
i.e. you can't use this to get actual BTC..

Its seems your not understanding the concept,
members can earn btc as a free or upgraded member.

Free members can only earn by taking part in the referral
program which offer 1% referral commission from upgrade
purchases made by your referrals.

Upgraded members who purchase Ad Share Packs
are required to earn 15 credits per day in order to receive
2% daily R.O.A, the Ad Share Packs matures when the share
has yielded 200% upgraded members also 2% referral commissions
from upgrade purchases made by your referrals.

Please note:
To all members who have signed up recently,
you need to assign credits to the websites you have submitted
as your website are not being shown to others,
so please ensure you allocate the desired amount of credits
to your websites other wise your sites will continue not being shown !!
677  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Introducing: btcsurf.com in soft launch on: May 18, 2011, 08:42:22 PM
Ok, I registered but I'm pretty clueless about a few things and hope that you could answer them..

1) I have to register a website, which will give other people credits for visiting.. Where does that money come from, do I have to pay people to be able to get some?
2) I think you wrote that I wasn't allowed to have other ads on my dummy website, why would that matter?
3) How many credits is 1 BTC? If I'm browsing for 0.8 credit per 12sec it would be nice to know..

1) When you register on the site you are asked for your first website to be advertised in the surf rotator,
upon login to your account for the first time you will need to surf 5 sites to activate your account and to receive
200 ad credits signup bonus.

You then assign these credits to the websites you have submitted for the surf rotator,
when you site is shown to other members 1 credit is deducted for each view you site receives,
while members viewing the sites earn credits for each site they view.

2) You are free to have ads on your site but not the type which is mentioned on the signup form
ie:  "Popups Or Popunders, Flying Ads, NO Frame Breakers" etc

3) Credits are only used for the purposes of advertising your websites and nothing else,
to earn daily rebates you will need to upgrade and purchase a min of 1 Ad Share Pack to earn,
although this not required, so if you choose to remain a free member you will still be able to earn
1% from purchases made by your referrals.

679  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Introducing: btcsurf.com in soft launch on: May 18, 2011, 06:52:45 PM
I have a question regarding credit policy.

1000 credits = 1 BTC or 1 USD ??

All pricing is in BTC and not USD.
680  Economy / Economics / Re: BitCoin Bank on: May 18, 2011, 06:42:54 PM

has anyone asked the question yet... how do you enforce a loan?
say i put in bogus information.. i'm anonymous.. i take out a 10btc loan... then I go and decided to forget that account, email, whatever... suddenly you have no way to force me to pay back 10BTC.... even if you had my information, going to court for it would be really really tough.
That's why i think bitcoin bank will never work...

I think it could work with the correct KYC polices in place,
but of course this is at cost of anonymity.
