PS: I still think the default 3 points to opponent of whoever fails to submit their answers is fair, and the additional -1 point is very cool, but 3-0 scoreline still feel a bit much in my opinion as we all saw how much the goal difference mattered towards the end, and it's almost out of ordinary to defeat your opponent by 3 points margin, more so given the number of matches per season, and goal difference being the first metric for ranking for equal points makes it quite unbalanced imo, perhaps when points are tied H2H record should be the first metric for the decider, I mean that way it becomes fairer and at least first take a some default 3-0 scoreline that some might have been lucky enough to get more than once or twice, H2H in this light pitch them against their direct contenders first.

To be honest, this makes a lot of sense and is something to consider.
Initially we wanted to make it as close as possible to real football, but there it does not happen that the team wins 2 games in a season like this.

The 3-0 works both ways - if we lower it, the punishment for the team that failed to submit becomes less severe.
The goal difference is the standard in most leagues, so again - the closest to the real football situation.

I'll speak to Trofo about this, I'm tagging him here as well.
We do feel that the punishment now is even more severe for those not submitting and we hope it won't happen in the first 2 Divisions at all.

I think we'll monitor it in s04 and leave it as it is but yeah - if not submitting remains a thing then we'll surely revise it for the next season.

I would prefer to have one option to delay match for each player to different date if there are good reasons to do that.

Not a fan of this, the tables are kinda skewed then and it leads to potential calculations later on.
Trofo already explained it in more detail a few posts above.

Maybe you should have ready option for everyone to join the BSFL league and quickly replace any team that drops out, but for higher fees.

Current teams will always be given priority. You see that even Hhampuz has to do everything by the book Grin

CRO2
Well, according to post #6997, payment for permanence in a supposed expansion of leagues, (something was mentioned at some point; I think it was once said 20 per league), zero.

Someone already jumped ship, so if someone promoted to div2 leaves the BSFL, I don't know if I have the option, but they sign me up.

If someone leaves Div2, the first one with an option to enter it would be the playoff loser. You'd be 2nd in line.
Same way for Div1.

Since there are now fees applied on division 2, I kinda wonder what would you guys do to fill in the spot in division 2 in case some people want to quit on the next season? I reckon there wont be issue on the current participant on division 2 because they will be paying fees from their reward but what if 2 new promoted players from division 3b could choose to not participate next season?

We feel everybody will want to pay. If not, the next one in line by ranking gets the opportunity.

up to when we can change our BTC address?

The sooner the better, we want to pay when the tx fees are cheap - this tx can potentially be really expensive.
The deadline for everyone is by the end of this week, so as soon as we know the playoffs spots we can pay out.

Ideally we'll wait for the Cup finals to finish and pay in 1 tx, but if we catch a time with really low fees we'd like to pay the big chunk of the tx then.

Now, back to the new late submission penalty rules - they seem a little grave to me, as I believe we are still in the early stages of implementing anything like this.

Does this means that if one misses two GWs, he loses 8 points and -50%? This might potentially kill motivation. Imo

Nope, not submitting still carries the same penalties - 3-0 for the opponent and -1 total point.
The additional penalty is if you win 5mbtc at the end of the season, if you failed to submit on 1 occasion you win 4mBTC and 1mbtc gets deducted and if you fail to submit 2 times you win 2,5 mbtc and 2,5 mbtc get deducted.
663  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: February 19, 2024, 08:33:28 PM
Few things to add:

  • We will probably have something fresh as a season-long side competition, we're finalizing it as we speak.
I think it will be tremendously fun, high risk high reward. Might keep it for the Euros though, but it will be a part of BSFL at some point for sure. Either in s04 or s05.
  • The fees collected from deducting the rewards of those not submitting will go towards the next season's rewards pool. We feel the punishment is hard but also fair.
  • The players that get disqualified don't get any rewards. That wasn't actually in this season's rules but we're inserting it retroactively for those that haven't finished the season.
These rewards were freebets, but still doesn't make sense to reward the lack of effort.
  • Division 2 comes with 50% of the Division 1's fee. Considering the rewards, it isn't quite fair - but we'll bump the Div2 rewards a bit to compensate.
It makes sense from the competition's point of view though - we want Div1 to be even more elite.
90+% of participants will at least get their money back from season rewards anyway.
  • Please understand that the budget is initially calculated in USD and then transferred to BTC - so the rewards in BTC will be lower in S04 that they were in S03.
The Division 1 entry fee is therefore increased if we look at it in USD terms, but we feel it is warranted. The same is for the new Division 2 fee.

Damn... That three points lost due to not checking if I did submit has cut my reward in half. Pretty expensive mistake to make, but OK. I know I'm probably boring you all with this so I promise I won't bring it up again Grin

Anyway, I love the rewards and I once again Trofo and cryptofrka I thunk you guys are doing one hell of a job!

This is for next season. This season you will receive full reward.

Nunez out of the Luton game as well. Holy fucking shit, I picked 3 Liverpool players for the DGW and it seems that all 3 got injured in the 1st game and will be missing the 2nd one.
2 are surely out, we'll see what the call is with Salah.

You just can't make this shit up.

When will next season start?

The plan is to start immediately after the Cup Final, so beginning of March.
We think that 2 weeks is enough holidays for most of you, the only one without any break will be chi20.
666  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BC.Game 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: February 19, 2024, 10:59:58 AM
When choosing players, I took into account the empty game week. Me and cryptofrka (as he said earlier) are not even in the top 5 and the gap from first place is about 90 points, and the inclusion of Salah and his appointment as captain was logical.

There are some rumors that Salah has renewed his hamstring injury and that he's doubtful for the Luton game.
If that happens, we don't get another captain for that game (I asked Trofo already), which means that we'll get destroyed - Haaland's got an easy game coming.

I based all on Salah vs Luton, used both my wildcard and my triple captain for that to happen. Nothing's going my way recently, in any of the competitions.

I'm not confident at all in my answers so you might have the edge here haha.

My form is so shit that there's nothing for you to worry about Grin

2mBTC side bet accepted!

Hey @Hhampuz, I saw you submitted your answers, I guess you're preparing for the Cup Final.

Hit me up if you want to make it a bit more interesting, 1-2mBTC sidebet between the 2 of us.
My club needs the additional revenue to breeze through The Purgatory once again.

So, after one of the most boring games ever, Jinetics1111 is our new Division 2 member while MAAManda will play in the promotion playoffs vs arallmuus.

Final score:
Jinetics1111 - MAAManda 3-3 (2-1 pen).

To be honest, I still don't understand how I got relegated with -1 goal difference. leea-1334 and mitchr4 are 4th and 5th with the same GD.
6 draws and only 3 wins with 49 correct answers. jeremypwr has 5 wins with 37 correct ones and leea-1334 has 8 wins with 50 correct ones.

I didn't think I'd be so pissed off, but I guess that 2 extra time goals (one in the last game of the season) does that to you.
Congrats to you all, I'm too bitter to not feel hard done by this right now. RNG at its finest Sad

The Playoffs questions are here!

For Division 1 spot
LTU_btc - chi20

For Division 2 spot
arallmuus - Jinetics1111/MAAManda (they still shoot penalties, winner is promoted directly and loser plays the playoffs)

The deadline is February 13th, 18:00 GMT.

It's CL week so the questions are mostly football, but we have table tennis for the first time in BSFL.

As Trofo said, considering that chi20 is playing in the playoffs and in the Cup final, we have decided to host the Cup final next week. Otherwise it was supposed to be on schedule now as well.

Freebets winners for Round 15 are:
Division 1 - leea-1334 (40$ freebet)
Division 2 - notblox1 (30$ freebet)

Great tension between Mallorca-Real sociedad.. Mallorca takes the lead 1-0 then Sociedad equalises. And now Mallorca gets a red card just before the break.. This will be an exciting second half😁

Crazy game hahah, I'm watching. Sociedad have the upper hand with an extra player of course, but Mallorca has been defending well throughout most of the game.
Sociedad is @5 odds to win now, I'm actually thinking of adding more money to them winning. This will be intense until the last second.

EDIT: Sociedad scored in 94th minute - sums up the season perfectly for me Grin

We'll bounce back next year.

Bets on Sociedad placed, now I either get relegated or walk away with 1000$ in profits.
For what it's worth, I think they won't be winning today.

The funny thing will be when Sociedad doesn't win, I lose my bet and then get relegated in the playoffs Grin
673  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: February 17, 2024, 07:37:54 PM
The results are in, a lot of the duels are already settled before tomorrow's game.

I think I'm gonna place a 10mBTC bet on Sociedad, that way if I get relegated at least I have something to look forward to Grin
I'd rather lose the 10mBTC tho, my ego won't be able to handle relegation.
674  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BC.Game 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: February 17, 2024, 06:30:23 PM
I think you are underestimating a bit how hectic second part of the season usually ends up being

Probably, I told you that this is my first time playing fantasy seriously.
I made a shitload of mistakes with early transfers, I'm surely misinterpreting how close or far from the top I currently am.

What I can see though is that both Salah and Watkins are as useful as Haaland's been, and Salah gets points from assists as well. I prefer him as my captain and I'll hope I can outscore Haaland with 2 good players most of you won't be able to afford.

Alvarez looks like he'll be playing behind him, I'll rather have him and KDB instead of only Haaland.
675  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: February 17, 2024, 05:48:52 PM
Arsenal's on fire, damn. 11 goals in the last 2 games, without conceding as well. They scored 21 in the last 5.

Liverpool performed well too, but we still have to see if the win was paid with a heavy price. Our team is already decimated, Jota's injury looked like at least few weeks out.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I really hope Nunez's ok. He's having a good period, he took his goal with some style today.

Next we have Luton, and then Chelsea. Considering the injuries, I really don't care that much about the League Cup. Yeah, it's a trophy, yeah, I wanna win it. But we're in a great position in the league, that would be my main priority.
Chelsea will fumble the Cup anyway, we can win with a mixed team.
676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BC.Game 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: February 17, 2024, 05:43:43 PM
Getting Mo Salah right this game week doesn't seem logical to me, especially given the fact they have blank week for the next round, That'd be tying some decent funds up that could into bringing in other players with better game weeks and assured playing time, but it's the FPL, we've more weird things happen right ?

For me it does, having him triple captain in 120 minutes I expected him to play against bad opposition is a no-brainer. I have a plan for the blank week, it's only 1 game for Salah and he'll be benched, while Jota will be sold.
I simply have to go with a differentiator, that was my reasoning. That's why I'll play the rest of the season without Haaland as well.

I'm in 8th, top 5 get the prizes. If I play with logic, the best I can do is 5th - and that's a big maybe.
If I risk it, I'll probably drop 10 places but 8th gives me nothing - so this was a logical risk to take.
677  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: February 17, 2024, 05:39:39 PM
Wow, somehow I'm still alive. Did not expect vd309 to win the EPL question after Liverpool scored 4 goals.
It will all come down to tomorrow's Mallorca - Sociedad question, if Sociedad fails to win I have a chance through the playoffs.

Would be one of the biggest escapes in recent memory, so let's do it!
678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BC.Game 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: February 17, 2024, 02:41:48 PM
I gambled on Salah and Lady Luck smiled on me this time. Jota is almost certainly out of the Luton game (it is probably a knee injury) but I hope that Nunez substitution was a precaution of some sort.

Salah did his part, now all eyes are on Haaland. I have a feeling he'll score 5 goals in the next 2 games.
679  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: February 16, 2024, 05:50:44 PM
Anyway, Swiatek just got a walkover. How many sets will it be on the final game with Rybakina? I got her to lose with 2 sets atleast so if its 3 sets then Rybakina should win this game for me to get a point but damn Swiatek seems to have been having way easier matchup compared to Rybakina so far

Nope, it's best of 2 sets - so no way for you to get a point here anymore.

We both hope she loses, but considering the form she's in - it's highly unlikely. The bookies have her as a big favorite @1.40 odds.
680  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BC.Game 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: February 16, 2024, 05:46:18 PM
Klopp saying Salah's fit is the worst thing that could happen to me, now I have to reassemble everything once again.
I'll probably take him, although he surely won't start tomorrow. But he'll probably start vs. Luton - which is one of the easiest games of the season.

The other thing that bothers me is who to captain. Now with Salah back, Nunez isn't guaranteed to start both games. Go with KDB? Meh, City has worse games than Liverpool.

Whatever I do, I'll overthink it and fuck it up Grin
