There are various suggestions on the best Altcoin to hold or buy now. I believe, the choice of the buyer should be reviewed taking cognisance of his purpose of buying, duration of holding and budget. I will advise that exchange coins should be taken into consideration in making any decision.

In my opinion, I'll go with ethereum. I believe ethereum has a wider market and can easily multiply one's investment in a short period of time compared to the litecoin. Though litecoin is a great project and has the support of Bitcoin. I still believe ethereum is a more valuable digital asset.

It's imperative that everyone has to be extra careful before investing in ICO's. The cryptocurrency industry is a very interesting industry and to be honest, the issue of scam ICO is very rampant. Over 70% of the ICO's are potentially a scam project. I personally won't advise anyone to invest in ICO's. Its best to wait and buy low from the exchange when the project is listed.

The mass adoption of cryptocurrency is still a long ride, there are so many structural issues that need to be put in place before the mass adoption can be considered. Cryptocurrency is still in shambles and no government will be willing to accept it as means of payment.

One of the greatest accomplishments of Satoshi is the establishment of this forum, where cryptocurrency information is discussed. I'm personally glad that Satoshi didn't only establish bitcoin, he also brought people of link minds together in a forum, to discuss and learn more about the industry.

I think it's imperative for people to understand that, what makes one profit out of cryptocurrency is selling of digital assets. Its laughable to think that your assets are growing in value when they are unsold and in your wallet. The market is highly volatile and the only way to profit out of the volatility is through buying and selling. You sell at a high value and buy back at a lower value or vice versa. Keeping your altcoin for futuristic higher returns is only logical, when the high return is sure. And in this industry, nothing is sure.

One of the major reasons why people prefer using the centralised exchange is because they are uncomfortable with the decentralised exchange asking for private keys or other sensitive information to gain access to the exchange. People are scared of loosing their digital assets to hackers. Centralised exchange only requires your wallet address to transfer the funds and some decentralized exchange fees are economical and affordable.

In my opinion, if there are only 50 coin in the cryptocurrency industry, it would make increase the influence of whales who may hold all the coin available in the market and determine the prices for the coin. Secondly, decentralisation of the financial market which is a key component of the cryptocurrency space will not be achievable.
