LOL - I got DRK flying ALL OVER THE PLACE - LOL

This wallet is running like a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse - so cool :-)

Are you on IRC freenode? make it easier to play ping pong

To investors...please dont expect drk to rise more than 40-50% after rc4 release. Any high price predictions will only lead to dissapointment and greed may even cause you to dump. DRK is here for the long term, it will have slow steady growth because of new buy support forming after each rc version.
So keep expections realistic, buy into a masternode or share a node and remain patient because best things come to those who wait.
Testnet wallet is going kick ass. Latest version is v.17 - it denominates and then selects the correct inputs for darksend. The system really works. Ok, I shouldn't be surprised but the execution and implementation was much more difficult than expected. Fortunately, Evan was up to the task. He is actually a genius! hahahaha.

Agree'd we are the night shift testing team (day shift southern hemisphere Tongue) haha

Coin lock issue is now resolved!

Anonymous inputs are selected correctly, denomination is happening very quickly.

Im going to do a few more rounds of ping pong and if all goes well - I am happy to call RC4 stable from my perspective!

I have a couple more updates to do for anonymity, which will be v18. Then we'll test for bugs for a few days and release RC4.

Hold on to your hats ladies and gentlemen - we are on the home stretch Smiley
Very nice, the changelog also looks great. This pretty much means that the long awaited RC4 should be hitting sometime next week if he does the minor updates quickly. Hopefully the anonymity works as supposed to and that those who are doubting Darksend+ (people who follow cryptonode, ring signatures) are proven wrong.

I am testing with multiple wallets now and so far its working perfectly!

Just thought of a few more test cases so need to go test Smiley

I really wish i knew the protocol when drkman FUDs,

either A) engage him telling him why and how wrong he is, and therefore giving him exactly the attention he wants

or B) just scoff at it from a distance, porribly through the use of hilarious gifs, and then get called "immature" by others.

cause really that guy is just about the worst. nothing that he's said has ever had a lick of validity to it, and he operates in a fantasy world where 7 day PoW = instamine by devs. Betarigs was charging about 0.005 BTC per MH per day at that point. so the 60 GH or so would have cost the devs ooh around 2100 BTC. I'd lol but i'd be afraid i'd pull something. i'll just cry instead.

kinda sad i bought when it was 220, oh well, out of BTC. good news for late adopters i suppose, the low prices you've all been wanting are here now, enjoy them while they last.

Sorry to hear you bought in at 220, my advice would be to see if you can sell now and possibly buy back in alot lower, to offset buying high.

Looking at the charts there is a very good chance of sub 120k prices in the next few days. All the best.

AMAZING - now to play ping pong

Wow new RC4 denominates & anonymizes at the speed of light!!!! Well done Evan!!!

WE ARE GETTING CLOSER!

Been watching testnet...

Looks like the rare vanishing MN problem may be responsible for the equally occurring false collateral fees... C'mon Evan, you can nail this one... Been nagging for a while now. It's not a coincidence. That nagging MN problem that only rarely happens is where you should be looking, not banging your head against mixing code that works just fine... ;-) It's not the client disconnecting, it's the MN!

Yep Evan is definitely getting there - looks to be a race condition - and they are hard to troubleshoot!

Hopefully version 15 will address this and we are stable!
671  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anonymity on: August 06, 2014, 06:50:01 AM
One of the bitcointalk ads says:
"Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing."

In your opinion, which coin really has anonymous transaction? Is total anonymity possible at all?

I research this question for some time. There are a lot of peoples under each post who trying to promote their one RealAnonCoin but what i get

Bitcoin mixer and shared transaction services - it looks like real way only if you trust the service.
https://bitmixer.io/index.html - one of them

Darkcoin - Masternode technology. popular, interesting and expensive if i get the ino right(10% for darksend)
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=724083.0 look here - there are a lot info and links about darkcoin technology

Bytecoin/Monero - cryptonight. ring signatures. if you want to look at this kind of coins - just read about Cryptonight and ringsignatures, not about concrete coin.

There are a lot of "truly anonymous"  coins with Guy Fawkes but they look unserious for me.

Thanks for the response. I just read about Bitcoin mixer. It's an easy idea, but I guess its implementation is complicated. How much is the fee for it?

Darkcoin is way too expensive, as you mentioned.

Monero seems interesting to me.

Do you think governments will forbid anonymous transactions? For example, by forcing exchanges not to accept them.

If governments force Exchanges in their country to not accept Darkcoin for example, the price will go up even more as it will be perceived as a rare, sought after item. And other exchanges will pop up in countries which are less regulated to fill the gap.

Why do you think drugs are so expensive but cheap to manufacture.
672  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | RC4 Testing on: August 06, 2014, 06:35:20 AM
Go ahead, call me a troll.  You people are idiots.  Just because someone disagrees, doesn't make them a troll.  You both need to grow up but I'm done offering help.  Continue your fantasies and think that's reality.  I'll hope there are grown ups present that can address the real issues so you can continue to tilt at windmills or pee in a sandlot.

Now who's spitting the dummy?

You opened with "Are you fanatics worried at all about the somnolescent prices?  Since the great May pump, DRK has been in the doldrums."

First you called us fanatics, which I agree, the innovation and talents of the DRK team does cause people to follow with great loyalty, but the word "fanatic" is often confused for "dedicated".

Secondly, most of us knew the coin was going to correct after the May pump, and it's corrected and held good resistance around the .001 mark.  Before the pump began it was .0039 I believe, so again, the coin is still doing really well.

Then there was the "I can't quite put my finger on it but Dark is in the doldrums" comment.  Have you seen the masternode count recently?  The network is poised and ready for RC4, we are making Crypto history here.

Then you try and lecture us about regulation and how governments can crush a coin etc... Why come to the DRK thread and rattle your sabre?  If BTC goes down in a sea of regulatory red tape that's going to propel DRK to new heights quicker than we all imagined...

You want to be shown respect, give respect...

I think you've made some very pertinent points Ignition75 about Forceflow's posting and the mindset behind it. However, as someone that's read pretty much every page of this thread and is heavily invested in DRK, I do worry that all of us who are so excited and committed to Darkcoin are a bit over zealous in denouncing anyone that challenges us.

I'd like to see more accurate rebuttals of someone's bearish views on DRK, and some level of grace demonstrated when it's apparent they're here simply to muddy the water. Now we all know when you get someone who's so lacking in awareness of how governments work (i.e. that the public's perception of governments' power is as much about governments' maintenance of a smoke screen and the broad acquiescence of a public more interested in bread and circuses than standing up for their freedom) it's very hard within the limits of typing text in these response boxes to articulate why their "but the government won't allow it" statements are so naive.

But I think it would be better to try and correct misunderstandings rather than engagement in a "you're obviously a completely fuckwit" responses. I think some of the notions people we're labelling as "trolls" bring to this discussion need to be discussed.

For instance, it is possible that some sort of repeat of the 9/11 terrorist attack will happen and Darkcoin could get inexorably mixed up in the ensuing investigation and held up as a key funding facilitation mechanism the terrorists used. Do you think Darkcoin would be safe then? I expect the public backlash and draconian pursuing of everyone and anyone involved in Darkcoin would make the MacCarthyism communist witch hunts of the 1950s look tame by comparison. This is just one of the risks Darkcoin could be subject to. We need to take some of the notions people that come to this thread with and discuss them or we're all just on a continual "DRK DRK DRK. Give us a D, give us a K...." cheer leader session which ultimately isn't healthy.

Above all, let ensure we discuss all aspects right to the outer edges of the envelope so we all have the best chance of making this THE enduring crypto-currency of all time.

The problem is the BCT is full of trolls, idiots, morons, scammers and asshats.  Someone with a real interest or concern in any coin is going to get buried here.  If someone really wants to know more about dark or has questions/concerns they should vist darkcointalk.org

Additionally id like to add, 99% of this stuff has been discussed to death already. Its not just 2600 pages of trolls.

The smart genuine investors with serious money would do their due diligence, research and know most of the answers and formed their own opinions already.

And yes - if you want proper information and discussion go to Darkcoin talk, there is over 1400 members and very active. Why come here where keeping track and wading through the BS posts is hard.

First off, let me state that I hold a ton of Dark...

Just thought I'd give a friendly heads up.

Anyone who releases these things in a week or two are hack jobs.  Use some common sense.
674  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cloakcoin's PoSA is not a trustless system for anonymous transaction on: August 04, 2014, 01:33:20 PM
What you guys don't understand is their block escrow. They are trusting the block chain, not the nodes. If nodes don't send, original gets his cloak back and tries to find new node. No way to cheat the system. End this stupid FUD haha.

I have been around programming before, not the blockchain though, but even this makes sense to me.

Read the posts above carefully. Many flaws for block escrow and the overall design is stated.
675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | RC4 Testing on: August 04, 2014, 12:45:43 PM
Technical masternode help requested
Dyslexic_Zombei has allegedly lost access to one of his masternode addresses (node 3) due to a 'phantom self-payment' and he says the address is disassociated with the wallet and his blockchain file is corrupt or something. See his posts here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=626715.msg7888788#msg7888788

Could we get some help on this from El Presidente or even a glance by Evan or InternetApe? He's blaming the issue on Evan essentially, saying the community has been no help and he is claiming the Darkcoins are irrecoverable due to Evan's 'beta software'.

To me DZ just seems highly incompetent.

after going through the last few pages of his thread, this is my conclusion as well. I've been running a masternode since rc3's release and I have had 0 downtime and 0 issues with the remote wallet configuration (takes like 15-20 minutes to harden server + get a masternode running). A corrupted blockchain database isn't a big issue, just delete the blockchain folder and redownload it.

Agreed I wrote on his thread in defence of darkcoin - there are over 850 masternodes running with almost zero downtime. We dont get people in the darkcointalk or in this thread screaming about instability or corruption problems. Its not an issue with the masternode software, its an issue of the user setting things up wrong. Amazon servers dont randomly die or corrupt themselves unless the user does something crazy.

You can read through his threads and he has a massive number of problems from remoting into the servers, network issues, random corruptions, and he is even using the RC2 QT wallet in linux. He should be running the RC3 daemon if he is going to setup the masternode properly.

As said previously, he either has the worst luck in the entire world, or is incompetent. I am voting for the later.

Masternode numbers have grown significantly - 891 = 854 actives + 37 inactives

Payouts wont be as regular as before. You might not get anything for 5 days, then all of a sudden get 3 payments in a day.

That being said, yes the Masternode voting consensus is brand new in RC4 Smiley

We are in war with Cloak
cloaks deverlopers are working
Personally, I don't think any of the PoS coins have legitimacy. They're just pump and dump.

Additionally its the way they are launched, i.e with 7 days only of PoW....what ive seen is people spend up to 10btc renting out huge farms to rake in the coins for 1 week. Then sit and stake and cause more centralization and un-even distribution.

With PoW yes people have large farms but the distribution continues past the 7 days as more people join and the hash and distribution spreads over time.

Another Coindesk plug for Darkcoin as bitcoins supplant  Grin

"For example, one may believe that bitcoin does not have as much immediate potential in the international remittances market as compared to its use as an alternative investment vehicle or store of value. Or one may feel that Darkcoin is going to supplant bitcoin as the preferred cryptocurrency in the black market and that therefore the size of the informal economy in each country is not a significant factor in bitcoin adoption. If the NSA shuts down my nodes. Good luck. I can have them back up and running in a country of my choice in a few hours. Don't see the issue.

Once the amazon 12 month free offer is over. Expect the distribution to be vastly different.
