It seems (while it's a bit weird) installing openssl for windows solved the problem for one of our members having problems with mintpal updating. On the other hand cryptsy api is just slow & bad. If you still have the issue PM me I'll try to help you, and in any case don't worry if this or this is not working 100% as intended it will be fixed quickly and swiftly.

Just found out today why we had problems in the past to add them, will be added for next update for sure !
The focus on next update will be the trading bot and an even more improved market tab + a game .

After that we'll be quite close to the release of the eco-system..

Let's start by talking about this update.

We listened to all you had to say and tried our best to improve the current wallet and solve all the current bugs and glitches.

*Lot's of UI improvements, fonts more readable, visual glitches solved ui parts finished. Also a few network bugs were solved.
*An unlock button right in your Dashboard, just beside the stacking tutorial for new comers.
*A whole new Market Data tab with MintPal, Bittrex and Cryptsy integrated. You asked for Mintpal and an overview panel, you got it . This is in prevision of the next update built-in exchanger, I'll talk about that later in this post.
*A few IRC bugs solved, as you may have noticed the client was still in construction. No more points instead of spaces and a much better response time.
*And yes we also integrated the "Minimize to taskbar" button on top of the "Minimize to tray" since a lot of you complained about missing it.


Now let's talk about the roadmap.. Most of the time as you have seen in the past we prefer releasing than talking about it for days because announcing great features always bring haters, fudders, impatients and pumpers. But this time I'll let you know a bit more what the current plans are and what the future holds for Silkcoin.

Next Update :

Will be in ~10 days, we will integrate the exchange feature into the market tab and a trading bot is coming but it's not 100% sure it will be included in the next release with trading.
Due to a big community demand games will be integrated in the wallet, at first it will be a simple betting game but we plan to expand this area in the future.
Also a big rework is being done on the IRC tab. After the next update we'll start to have a decent wallet  .

The eco-system :

The release of the white paper is still planned for the end of the week so I will not talk a lot about it this time. If everything goes well we will start the beta phase about 2 weeks after the white paper, the beta should not last for long as the system is already very solid and we're constantly running tests.

For those of you who were criticizing the lack of information, I will still give you the same arguments : we started Silkcoin without talking about the eco-system and did not want to unveil it so soon because we knew without a white paper it would attract fudders & paranoïa. Also a lot of "secrets" are present in this white paper, we want to make sure we're advanced enough on the development side before making it public. But I reassure you, it's not quite finished I'm not making you wait .

Anyway it's been 1 month and 8 days, judge by what you seen. We're at the 5th update and our community is growing stronger everyday, the wallet is now far away from the others and even if you look at our clones they can't even hold the speed of our updates or worse can't even copy our existing features.

Dev Roadmap:

Here is the order of priority and how the most important events of silkcoin are supposed to happen in the next 30 days:

- First the release of the White Paper Friday.
- Followed by a big update including the built-in exchanger and first game
- Private beta for the eco-system will begin
- Then we'll launch the Multi-pool, we're already talking with a few pool managers who are interested in working with us, but we haven't decided yet; We may build it ourself.
- The launch of the Eco-system with social features and decentralized exchanger. For now this is planned in ~1 month, it can be faster but it can also be delayed.
- The launch of the decentralized marketplace, yes we reconsidered it and we will launch the marketplace with a trust system we'll explain later.

The rest of the roadmap is still uncertain regarding timeframes but will include for sure :

- 2FA authentification, our devs have already started the work on double signatures this is not going to be a very long dev so it may come as a surprise feature .
- Blockchain games in the wallet, followed by network games (all betting games, first game will be introduced next release).
- Anon, I would prefer not to talk a lot about it but we've been working for quite a long time now on Zerocoin implementation, it's not finished at all but yet shows promise since we thought it would've been impossible to integrate but we got back on it and found some interesting solutions.. We find most of the other alternatives (the one we can apply like darksend) not interesting.
Once again most of the time I prefer avoiding the subject because it atracts and feeds fudders and also because this is not the main feature, the eco-system is.
- A few other functions for the eco-system we currently looking what we could do without bloating the blockchain. You'll understand soon why we have endless possibilities when you read the white paper .

We don't work together, and most graphics used in the screenshots are under commercial license.
They approched us today with a proposition and we said we'll think about it depending on who they prove to be in the future, we'll see how their devs implement our wallet.

In any cases they are in their full right to fork the code (not the graphics on the other hand) and right now we are not working together.

Little Sunday update :

- New version will be released on tuesday fixing and improving a lot of things.
- White paper will come ~Friday maximum Saturday.

Also regarding the eco-system we're still actively seeking help, but it's quite a hard task to recruit new members, especially for the eco-system. Adam Garrity aka Silkcoined is not a member and not a dev, hah as if.
He was about 48 hours on the team, and got very mad when we told him to leave. He created silkcoined 1 month ago without our authorisation and is known to have done that with other coins, better to just ignore both those account on twitter.

Edit : Just took the time to fill a complaint at twitter for impersonation since he stole our graphics and created the twitter with no authorisation. You're right it needs to be handled.

Just a quick update about the premine since it's been a while . There's about 1 150 000 left on the 2 000 000 and it was 2% of 100 million at first. You can check here to get the premine wallets address.

And really who cares if it's not 2% since we're distributing all of it? Even more, we pay in bitcoins when we can to make the premine last you can ask team members (the occulus is not paid with silkcoins by the way regarding the last posts).
Also, more than 200k were spent only for the mintpal campaign and you know there's a lot more than that going on and a lot more people to pay.

Other subject, we wanted to say a big THANKS to the community and don't forget the team members, Wulfcastle, Quantum12, Judge Crypto, Karudea they have been helping and supporting us since start, nothing would've been possible without them.

We just have a great community, this thread has been one of the most positive thread I've ever seen.

On the dev side, expect some news coming in early next week (we didn't expect MintPal integration so soon), everything is coming in place and we got absolutely no major problems since start so it's all coming in nicely.

Yes we spoke with the devs and it has been added to the dev list, it would be a great addition to the eco-system but will surely be released after.

I think we may find a few suitable solutions with double sigs, and of course it would be an optionnal feature. Really fits nicely in the eco-system, nice idea.

Just a quick answer about the debate going on.

First thing I said about the eco-system is we didn't want to unveil it too soon that's why there's not a lot of details available and no real infos were given to the community. Once you'll read the white paper you will really understand what is going on, but in the meantime yes this is an investment and in every investment there's risk. I can't put an exact timeframe on the release of the white paper but expect it to be soon. It's a bit longer and more complicated than the usual coin white paper you see these days. If you want all the details available the best thing to do is to click on my profile and read my posts, I usually post only important updates.
So the wisest thing to do would be to make your investment based on what we already proved to the community since a bit more than a month of existence, I think most of the community is pretty satisfied; This was also the point of this second phase : let us time to settle and let you know who we are.

Also I find it's better to be based on bitcoin hierarchy and have thousands of devs around the world fixing glitches in your protocol than on a fresh new code. Anyway there are a lot of arguments to be made of both sides, still bitcoin is the source of all those ideas and systems it should stay the source of the code, I don't know if there's a lot of S. Nakamoto out there.

As for the 2FA, yea that could be a good idea!

Guys if you add nodes and be just a little bit patient you'll see it will sync with no problems..

Also when you added nodes please wait at least 10 minutes before complaining back it will not sync in 20 seconds... Adding nodes solved the problem for every single person who had problems with syncing. And if you read just the last page you'd see it has been answered already 3 times and solved 3 times.

A for the GUI don't worry it will evolve , once again we rushed this release because of the Fork.
And yes the fonts will change to be more readable.

Edit : the two hard-coded nodes went down today I guess that's why some of you have problems to sync , I'm currently setting them back up, in a few minutes they will be back..

POW starts in about 24 hours, and all pools with updated wallets are getting added to list.

If you guys have problems syncing, just ask someone to run the command "getpeerinfo" and paste their peers.
We have a VERY healthy coin network, so normally it's very rare to have connections issues. I currently am connected to 45 peers in the wallet as an example.

Add the nodes, I'll send you more by PM.
If it still does not connect it may have something to do with your connection/firewall blocking the used port. In the history of SC we got only one other guy that had problems to sync and he synced pretty fast after adding nodes.

Keep me informed, by the way PMs are better .

We never added more peers because no one has problem syncing since we have a VERY healthy network.

Yes the percentage is now higher than it states & 400k have been distributed on the premine already; We're trying as much as possible to make the premine last for a long time so we pay a lot in bitcoins or $ instead of using the premine (occulus rift & co) and of course never sell any silkcoin on exchanges. The premine is here to fund Silkcoin for a long time, the inside team (me and the devs) are not allowed to touch it, but on the other hand we may give out bounties also to the marketers (as I told you earlier we're all working together on a task management software).

Regarding bounties most of the time it depends on the work done and price of silkcoin because each work is very different but we try to give out a bounty to every single person who helps SC , there's a LOT of ways to help and I think most people can testify the bounty they got was pretty decent. A big part is distributed via giveaways also (Mintpal giveaway is the biggest in date, and not finished yet) and there's a lot more to come.

The point of this premine is to support Silkcoin on the long run. And we'll try to make an allocation list soon (everything is labeled in the premine wallet) but we didn't take the time for that yet since we don't consider this as primordial since an allocation list doesn't prove anything (its very easy to cheat), on the other hand constant distribution and non-stop work will prove our dedication.

And to answer the last question yes there will be a multipool, we're currently working on that .

Regarding the last FUD comments it's obviously linked to the fact we're having a big spike in volume and price today. Anyway most of the last FUD comments don't make any sense if you followed just a bit our updates.. Also main difference between us and the other people : we deliver we don't just post photoshops as Numus I guess or any other examples you said, have you at least downloaded the wallet  ? You know it's not photoshop on the gif right?

And I'll say just one last thing that will counter any FUD spreading : 1 month pause and 2 POW phase is the LAST thing a scam dev would do, think about it...

Anyway it's great to see so much people rally to Silkcoin and the last POW phase haven't even started !
