661  Other / Politics & Society / Re: the point of having high IQ? on: June 18, 2023, 06:11:10 PM
There are endless benefits of having a high IQ and just saying it seem needless, in a world were the general IQ levels is at a constant decline it's a great thing to actually be able to still maintain a high IQ.

High IQ can
+ Help you get task done well and on time.
+ Help you have a better understanding of thing faster.
+ Create financial opportunity for yourself.
+ Be logical and discipline in your approach to things.

But it has a side effect and that you may not be able to interact properly with people of lower IQ, because of the distance IQ and you may be see as someone who feels perfect and you opinion may seem hateful
662  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Suggestion on: June 18, 2023, 03:02:20 PM
Although I think it would be impossible for the internet to just go down and even if that happens it would be back up in no distant time but have you asked yourself if that scenario actually happens you losing your Bitcoin would not only be your point of worries, the world is now a technology HUB and many things are running on the internet even your banking system so if it should go down it won't just be the crypto-currency world going into panic virtually everyone should be worried about that.

I believe that your friends are very worried or scared about the financial technology but truth be told that's where we are all headed to, so we would get going cashless and some stores has also adopted very advance form of payment.
663  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does ranking not guarantee post quality? on: June 17, 2023, 08:52:14 PM
I think to drive your point home you should describe what you call nonsense, just because you don't agree with any members post or you can't relate with a post that should not mean the post is nonsense, yes the quality of post has reduced I would accept that but I wouldn't put the blames directly on any rank, because in every rank there are the positive posters and also negative posters.

You aren't an exceptional poster yourself but definitely there is always room for developing for anyone, I think if you find a post not helpful you can actually move on from it, pay attention to those post you find very useful and also make contribution yourself that would be helpful.
664  Economy / Economics / Re: Rent or buy real estate - let's have a debate on: June 17, 2023, 08:00:51 PM
For clarity sake you said what's the best option buying the property and rent when you actually have the funds for both, this is really a good question.

Well this is not a straight forward question because there are alot of other things you would have to consider like sites of the property, your preference, your family choice and generally what suits you.

Personally I have always love to own my own house but I would not want it in the form of loan or paying mortgage I would love to have my property bought in full, if it has to be about taking loan for mortgage I would rather prefer to rent, I know people who tried to pay for their mortgage all through their lives.
665  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Potential newbies on: June 17, 2023, 05:22:55 PM
Well you can either get noticed positively or you get noticed negatively, if you get noticed for your contributions of good post quality, charitable work or providing good services then that's great, also on the other hand you can get noticed negatively by either having controversies, being a troll, plagiarism or any negative side.

So now it's up to you to choose which way you get noticed just also know that if you are noticed for the positive reasons then you are likely to get merited for it but negatively there are high chances of you getting banned.
666  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Success or Fail? - Talking about Gambling as a major income on: June 17, 2023, 02:35:37 PM
Well gambling as a major source of income is dependant on individual, yes I am a gambler but I won't consider it as a source of income, because my believe of the word source of income is a place you earn from, like make your leaving out, an individual can have various sources of income to progress financially.

Gambling is not a business you go into empty handed, you have to stake something, so a business you have to stake your funds everytime to make profits out should not be considered source of income especially when it's has a huge percentage of having to do with luck.

I would consider gambling as a side hustle, it can also be considered as a recreational activities to some people, it should be seen as a probability having this at the back of your mind rather than it being a source of income can help you stop loss and also have better control of your emotions while gambling.
667  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to fight with FUD about Bitcoin on: June 17, 2023, 12:36:20 PM
I learnt from a wise man that don't try to talk to people who aren't ready to give you listening ears, and ever since I have been living that way I have been very happy with myself.

One point you must understand is that there would always be people who would be against Bitcoin and crypto-currency in general regardless of what you have to tell them, Infact if the academic qualifications you say he has is truth then he isn't stupid and probably has done his research and there is nothing you have to tell him that he hasn't already researched about, but he has chosen to be stubborn and adamant about his personal views on Bitcoin, if he doesn't give you a platform to interact with him then let it be.
668  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies Stop Teaching When You Need To Learn. on: June 17, 2023, 12:15:34 PM
This issue is amongst the reasons why newbies aren't making it here. For real Bitcointalk is not a forum you try to play on people's emotions, that's what all those type of post by newbies are all about.

I still think it's wrong to make a post about you learning the rules and regulations and you would follow it or the one that a newbie formed an anthem for newbies. I don't know where all this began from but honestly it's not working, and it can be so irritating that the newbies who post this sort of things can get put on ignore by some members.

Funny enough the members who has the merit rarely talk about how to get them but those who does not think they can actually be in the position to talk about it. as a newbie you part now is to improve yourself, focus on getting personal knowledge and find a way to contribute properly.
669  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Promoting Meaningful Engagement in the Local Board on: June 16, 2023, 09:04:30 PM
Honestly I must say that I am very impressed and proud about the topics we are seeing here on the board so it's really shows that we have been able to grow. This is not to say that the board has been completely rid off those spam post, but the number has been cut down tremendously.

I am really proud of the Nigerian representative here in the forum, we have been carrying ourselves in a very transparent and honorable manner. Remember when Nigerians use to be involved in issues especially that of plagiarism but right now all that has been reduced or even ended.
670  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Without money, the knowledge is a waste on: June 16, 2023, 08:09:10 PM
The only reason why you think it's a waste if effort is because in truth you actually don't have the knowledge for it, and you can't say something is waste when you haven't verified it, you have never been in a position of absolute crypto-currency knowledge so don't make irrational judgement.

The knowledge of Bitcoin and Crypto-currency is very important, it can be your resources even when you do not have enough capital, it's knowledge about Crypto-currency that can actually make you understand other way you can use to build yourself here before you invest, it's knowledge that can help you recognize opportunity and also potentials traps here in the ecosystem, so it can very be undermined .
671  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Encouragement and lesson learnt on: June 16, 2023, 06:33:35 PM
I don't think you should bother to much about how Senior members react to your post or should you be bother about giving advice for now, you because you say all that on your post doesn't mean you would do it, I think newbies are pushing the wrong effort by making this sort of post, it's unnecessarily and sounds unreal.

The stage is already set for you to go for everything you want on this forum you don't need to tell us this, just start doing your very best to see you have a very productive stay on the forum, this should be your priority, build and improve yourself first before giving advice.
672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Quote prices in Bitcoin or Satoshi on: June 16, 2023, 03:23:38 PM
Good luck on your investment I believe it is going to be a very productive one, also I would not like to get you wrong. And I believe what you meant is that you are trying to place your price at £10 but you want to place it in Bitcoin.

If that's the case then it's a bit complicated and still very simple in my own opinion, it's complicated in the sense that the Bitcoin price is very volatile and unstable. I believe you can place your price tag as £10 in the current value of Bitcoin.
673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is This the End of Crypto? This U.S. Congressman Hopes So... on: June 15, 2023, 06:19:36 PM
what's happening right now could affect the price of most assets, but not the crash of crypto. they do not have the ability to control crypto assets like Bitcoin. and that is their reason for shutting down the exchange platform to disrupt the value as well as the Crypto market.
we will feel the impact if exchanges as big as Binance and Coinbase are affected by this problem. but it's not going to completely destroy crypto like Bitcoin which they really can't control.
I don't know why this should even be a topics, this won't be the first time we would be seeing this sort of issues, many times we would see that the government and institution has always tried hard to stifle the growth of crypto-currency but non of this scheme has ever worked and there is a reason to this and that's the fact government don't have authority on how the crypto-currency market would go.

Well but I think the only people government decision on crypto-currency can affect are those that aren't rooted into it or the newbies. Even in countries that has banned crypto-currency the citizens has still found a way around it.
674  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'am a newbie on: June 14, 2023, 10:25:22 PM
The forum may have lots of rules like you said, but few rules must not be broken and those rules you should be wary of, such as plagiarism, spamming, AI contents, and using abusive words on members. Plagiarism and spamming are two easy route out of the forum, if boycotted. If you can use the forum without breaking few rules out of the many rules, you won't have any reason to be scared. When you are not sure, if you are getting things right, scroll through the rules again and refresh your memory. Also visit the mega board to know why some users with ban appeals are getting banned. It will enlighten you more on how to place yourself in the forum.
Well I think I understand where you are coming from but there is no rule and regulations that should be broken, yes some punishment for breaking a rule can be different from the other still there is always punishment for all rules that are broken.

Although if we are very honest keeping to the rules is very easy just be civilized and do what's right. What I would advice newbies is not to do the unnecessary things like making unnecessary post it may give you away as using your post to hunt for merit.

I think rather than that take your time to learn and then come back here with helpful post that isn't plagiarized then you would get good recognition and also the merit to grow your account.
675  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A portion of my clothing store's weekly profit is invested in Bitcoin on: June 14, 2023, 08:57:40 PM
I have a small cloth shop. Currently everything in my own country is very expensive, so we are facing many problems in our life. The shop I have used to sell well. But now due to the increase in price, there are not as many customers or sales as before. Again. On top of that I have to pay rent for the shop which has become a bit difficult for me. After entering this platform I got to know Bitcoin. Then after browsing many places I realized that I can earn money by investing in Bitcoin. So I want to invest in Bitcoin. So I have my weekly I decided to invest in bitcoin from a profit share. I think I made the right decision. I hope that I can use my bitcoin profit for other purposes. Hope you guys can help me with good advice.
Yes you have made a good choice in my own opinion, I also assume that your weekly earnings from the shop won't be that much going by the fact you said times are hard in your country, I personally wish you well in your business but if I may be frank with you.
It's best to have multiple streams of income, really it doesn't have to be one like now you have your shop, still you can learn new things that doesn't need to you invest capital.

You can learn freelancing, web designing, graphic designing and any other thing that can assist you financially. Also investing in Bitcoin with so much pressure of it being a success may not make you last in Crypto-currency.

If you don't know already I would state it that the market is very volatile and it's not easy to predict I think you should cultivate the habit of patience if you want to make profits from that means.
676  Economy / Economics / Re: Landed properties is the best investment on: June 14, 2023, 07:16:14 PM
There is not one true best investment it actually doesn't exist, there are various investment options that people use to accumulate wealth and it's all about the more unique your investment option and it actually something the general public finds useful you are likely to get more gain from it that those who are investing in things that has already been very popular. Although this still doesn't completely determine how successful you would be..

I have had the opportunity to listen to billionaires from my country concerning this issue and many of them has always began with that they invested in things that many investors at that time saw stupid making competition lesser for them at that time and they gain good strength in that sector and now many investors are rushing into it but they are the biggest. Investing is about having an opened mind and good research skill and good instincts
677  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk is not an office on: June 14, 2023, 07:07:00 PM
If we are being very frank we won't be putting all the blames on newbies, yes we understand the human mind keeps searching for wealth or money to sustain ourselves, but I would blame the people that are inviting newbies into the forum they are mostly the reason that newbies has a twisted thought about the forum and are oriented into believe you are only here for money.

I am lucky that I wasn't having that thought when joining the forum but many newbies face this issues and it takes the dedicated once to actually retrace their steps and start to do the right thing. I think we should start telling and guiding the newbies properly when inviting them into the forum.
678  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful and don’t promote a scam campaign on: June 14, 2023, 05:06:55 PM
Promoting and supporting scam projects in bitcointalk is not encouraged by this forum. Though scams don't moderate on this forum but members can with enough proof. I saw 1xbit runs their campaign for long time and many forum members promotes that by wearing signatures. I don't know how they manage to run the campaign for so long but it is good that now they are gone.

As a member of the forum we should take the responsibility of what we promote.
It's common sense that promotion of scam projects is never condone on the forum and any other legit forum, but what are your criteria for knowing that a project is a scam?

The non regulations of project entering the ecosystem gives opportunity to any project to get into the system, yes there are things that expert advice to look out for in spotting scam projects but this days scammers are now getting wise and covering up those leakage holes. It's really hard to spot a scam projects especially when the scammers are investing time and funds into it.

I would advice that we reduce the way we join in or spot any random project that comes into the ecosystem. It may stop you from exploring new possibility but also reduce your risk on getting scammed.
679  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, suspended!! on: June 13, 2023, 07:24:44 PM
Although I have never supported president Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his campaign and even after getting elected the president and also the electoral process was very much questionable regardless I am personally impressed by him removing/suspending the CBN governor.

Since his appointment as the CBN governor for a very long time Nigeria has not yet known any for of progress in the financial sector and the implementation of the last new naira note that caused hardship in the country was the last straw that broke the camel's back.
680  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kids and Bitcoin on: June 13, 2023, 06:52:36 PM
I would like us to be very realistic about this, yes we would love the younger kids to know more about Bitcoin and your suggestions is having a Bitcoin comic in as much as I think it's great to make people aware but I think they are still kids who should at that time of their life be having knowledge according to what their Brain can carry. I enjoyed my years as a kid having the fun of reading fun comic books that where so simple and shares how to interact with my play mate.

I am curious to know how would the comic book about Bitcoin be that a kid would understand, they are mostly used to super heroes in their comic book, except you just want to create a wrong impression about Bitcoin to kids like Bitcoin man can be a character who fights bad guys I guess. But that won't be what Bitcoin is all about.

I think we should let kids be kids and in few years Time when they can assimilate then we can introduce to them gradually what Bitcoin is all about.
