661  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Keep3r token going to be the next YFI? on: November 01, 2020, 04:17:00 PM
will probably be the next hype like yfi. cycle and exactly the same way. I even see people who are always promoting it on social media. maybe this is a new hype after yfi who knows, that's just a temporary guess. Grin

If you observe the token since it launched, it's not really making bigger moves like yearn.finance rally in the past. The volume hasn't been incredible though not bad as a new projects, It need time to get attention from traders.
The total supply isn't huge as yearn finance, we may not see any alternative yearn.finance any time soon  since the hype is already over. Nothing new even if they promise APR of 1000%  Kiss Kiss
662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I guess bounty hunters really kill projects on: November 01, 2020, 05:42:00 AM
It was your choice to hold for long term buddy, you can't blame anyone for not holding. They work for good 4 month, they were paid for their hard work, you can't tell anyone to hold or not.
Looking at the volume, YOUC volume was so low, you should have seen the dump coming, the price was good the volume wasn't great enough to handle those token they share to hunters. When order book is small( no buyers in this case), market order can do huge damage to any market.
While the market is still friendly, sell and move on. There are better opportunities out there.
663  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the duck is btc at 13.526,98 USD ? on: October 31, 2020, 05:03:26 PM
I love bitcoin to the core and I can never trade it with any form of financial instrument but to be sincere, Bitcoin currently is been manipulated in my opinion. I have observed some changes in bitcoin moves recently, it always do the opposite when you expect the price to fall and vice versa.
Last week for example, everyone was anticipating the price to fall back to 10k level as MACD on weekly Chart was about to change to sell off zone(red zone) but then, PayPal news roll out, good news comes when you expect the price to fall. I feel institutional investors are watching and wouldn't like anything that will fall it price. My opinion though.
664  Economy / Economics / Re: The pros and cons of going cashless on: October 31, 2020, 09:20:23 AM
One of the perks of living in a 3rd world country lol. There's just so much poverty that eliminating physical cash entirely is going to take out a huge percentage of the total population out of the economy. 1st world countries like the U.S. are far more likely to go completely cashless.
Eliminating cash in our society will be creating a bigger problem In unbanked countries, beside its not everyone that has access to mobile internet. Africa will suffer the most, how will a country with lack of access to Internet in order to make daily living and day to day business transactions. It will be  very difficult.
Local Market, Marchant and Retailers will be at verge of collapse in many countries. The cons will outweigh the pros when we fully go cashless.

The rate at which US is money printing, I don't think they will be going cashless any time soon as you said. Check the chart below, the rate at which new dollar bill is been minted to the economy is at peaked for now, more is coming as soon as the senate pass the bill for the 3 Trillion stimulus check.

665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on DeFi on Bitcoin Network? on: October 30, 2020, 10:15:17 PM
Why do you think most developers prefer to used Ethereum blockchain network for DeFi and ignored Tron if we are to consider the immense increase in transaction fee of ethereum?
Ethereum is simpler, very popular, and human friendly integration with DApps written in solidarity language. DeFi was one of the Buzzword that kept ethereum network demanding over this year crypto season.
DeFi can be hosted on other blockchain but I think ethereum fits the most, if its about DeFi lock up security fear, dnt forget that developers can make error and once Hackers locate the bug, they will wipe out all the funds. Bitcoin has also face different attacks from Hackers in past, so I don't think it's safe neither.
666  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I believe this is the way on: October 29, 2020, 10:00:19 PM
We all want to be rich in crypto space, I get it but there is possibility that what we want to achieve may not come to past when we plan only to hold coins and tokens for years.

Its not all planned event that comes to pass, some planned ones worked out amazingly beyond our limit and expectations. Since cryptocurrency isn't tightly regulated, expect anything in this space. We can only hope and keep planning on investing because those who failed to plan, plan to fail.

Quote

Buy a coin and hold like you intended but take profits when the coin shoot up like double Profit up to 2x and buy back when the coin dumps, crypto is like a circle, there will be pumps and there will be dumps, in that process of taking profits and buying back you will end up wining both ways, whatever happens you won't entirely lose out.

Personally, whenever I buy coin, I go for top 50 ones because when market goes south, it will always bounce back when bitcoin and others recover. Experience has thought me patience, loyalty and big profit and little loss on projects.

PS: Don't invest on hype projects, we have seen many of them in disguised as DeFi projects with zero level of inexperienced team and real use-case used.
667  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whats your fears in new cryptocurrency? on: October 29, 2020, 04:14:35 PM
The image below show the complete behavior of market cycle, from hope to euphoria and then down to anger. Every project on market cap must have undergone these route / will undergo these step. Now, how do you know when is the right time to buy and the time to exit the market?
I know the risk associated with this market but my greatest fear is buying a token at euphoria stage, the emotional disorder of holding a token for years just to recover a loss/loses isn't something I want to pass through again as observed from my previous investments. The nature of market cycle sometimes occurs only if the team aren't the relentless type, there are some similar cases where a project move from euphoria stage to flat bottom without any recovery.
These are my fears in this market, it's sweet but improper investment and lack of caution can end one in depression.
668  Economy / Economics / Re: Better Days ahead for the economy of developing countries in Africa on: October 29, 2020, 11:07:16 AM
Ikonja Iweala was the Finance minister between 2003 and 2006 during Obasanjo regime and I couldn't point her achievements for Nigeria even if European union has endorse her as the first female and a Nigerian Director-General of the WTO. The office she is occupying doesn't belong to just a single country but countries as whole that co-form world health organization, this might be an opportunity for African countries especially Nigeria but it's not done that way and beside, united states isn't giving her full support.
Trump will not support candidates who just became citizen of United States in 2019.

669  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top 6 DeFi projects to watch in 2020 🎯 on: October 28, 2020, 10:00:23 PM
The mentioned DeFi projects has performed greatly as an outstanding assets, however, I believe that's the writer opinion. If you check the market cap or DeFi market, we have some projects that has outperformed them in term of ROI and Apy staking they provide yearly.
The above projects have also lost about 49% - 50% of their value from all time high, so I dnt see anything special about them but hype.
If I'm to keep defi project for long time I will stick to top DeFi Oracles such as:
  • Chainlink, they started the hype.
  • DIA
  • Band
  • polkadot
670  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If you think you are smart just know that some are smarter on: October 28, 2020, 08:28:27 AM
If you think you are smart well think again

After UNI Airdrops many starts looking for people's Private keys and recovery seeds using search engines and data engines like 4shared and others but guess what?

Some smart scammers are out there willingly exposing their private keys and recovery seed so that greedy people can scan through them, here is what the scammers have in store

The scammers leave good valuable tokens on the wallet and set the wallet to automatically send out any deposited Ethereum, the greed people will want to deposit eth to quickly move out the tokens to exchanges but its a smart trap, once the eth landed on the wallet address it automatically send out to another Ethereum address...

How did I know this? I know someone who fell for this, luckily he only deposit 20$ worth of Ethereum..

Last month was really a good period for Uniswap lover's when they were showered with $1400 worth of UNI (400 UNI) but it gave birth to rise of scammers on different platforms, Facebook cryptocurrency related channels in particular were so spammed, scammers were looking for victims to prey on.
The thing is, most of this scammers are lazy developers, they know how and when victims make moves. They designed their tactics and if you aren't careful, anyone can fall for their scams. They are very smart, knowledgeable people but stupid to use it in bad ways.

Please note: There is nothing free in Internet, the earlier you realise this, the better to adjust your greed otherwise you may end up loosing all you have work for in this space.

671  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AUDIO massive pump after surprise Binance support on: October 27, 2020, 09:38:02 PM
Pump and dump is what you get from all DeFi tokens, binance was major catalyst that alter this gain and loss in some project. The day DIA ( Data information asset) was listed on Binance, it pushed the price to tick $5 but after then, the price tank to $2 before the recent attack on kucoin that bled the token. I like binance exchange because of immense volume and liquidity but I don't really like the idea why some project prefer token to be listed on Binance, probably they need global recognition but it doesn't worth it to me.

It should cost for a celebration when your portfolio made a 1000% ROI but imagine the guilt and depression those who bought at $0.5 would go true since it wouldn't go back there anytime soon.
672  Other / Archival / Re: European institutional investors are interested in cryptocurrencies on: October 27, 2020, 02:36:20 PM
@juggy777 you don't have to quote the whole thread to reply Ratimov.
The European institutional investors aren't the only interested in bitcoin this days. There is rise of crypto adoption in Africa and it's growing at rapid rate. Take a look at p2p transactions daily volume on naira metrics, their is increase in retail and merchant as well which is generally exciting and bullish for bitcoin.

According glassnode today, the last time bitcoin was in bullish mode was August 2019, if bitcoin maintain this green level, 15k is imminent.
It will be interesting if US can get on board and reduce some rules and regulations imposed on investors by SEC. Imagine if US allows cryptocurrency as alegal ( not legal and not illegal), some top countries has done the same which has been bullish for bitcoin.
673  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin will replace oil and Gold on: October 27, 2020, 11:06:12 AM
Gold and oil serve different purposes than Bitcoin. They are resources with industrial uses while BTC is meant to be a decentralized form of currency.

But in the future we may see oil and gold traded more often with BTC.

You have made a valid point in your first paragraph but I have to strike the second line.
Bitcoin is not longer in the age of 2017 when the foundation was base on making 2x or 3x profits. The adoption is at tremendous level, an average man on earth has heard about cryptocurrency( bitcoin) once in their life time, the traction and It wide-spread sometimes get reduced by government policies that's what has been the main challenges and FUD.

You hardly see a stock trader without engaging in cryptocurrency, the correlation between global traditional market and crypto asset market was strong that it made investors sold off their bitcoin during the pandemic brouhaha
There have never been such a catastrophic sell off in the history of Bitcoin, though its has begin to move alone without stock market impact since September.

The future is bright for bitcoin and it will interest you to know that it will outperform stock market if and if the world use cryptocurrency without government interference. Some DeFi platforms are already on the rise.

674  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Vs Altcoin on: October 26, 2020, 09:47:11 PM
Bitcoin has always shown sign of leadership while altcoins follow. The recent price surge was as a result of PayPal integration of Bitcoin and some altcoins in their platform. This was bullish for bitcoin as everyone has been expecting the news in the past, we may expect more pump by early 2021 when this is actualize.
The reason why some alts has not been pumping is because of trend, majority of altcoins have their moments some weeks ago when bitcoin was consolidating between 10.5k and 11k, now it's time for bitcoin to shine.

September was a hot months for altcoins, Ethereum experience the largest transactions so far since the last bull run in 2017, DeFi frenzy woke almost all the alts, Link, band, Atom and top other altcoins were all pumped weeks ago. There's nothing bad for increase in bitcoin dominance
675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: My opinion on Airdrop or Bounty hunters who dump token after the campaign on: October 26, 2020, 03:23:44 PM
Bounties are reward for your work, so it may be a personal reason when they decide to hold. If I see a future in a project, I may decide to hold but I know the difficulties of holding altcoins in my portfolio that's why I make sure to always stick to their social channels especially Telegram and do what's best for the token at the necessary time.
About dumping of tokens by hunters, the team don't have control over market and they can't tell them not to sell when they need their money. If a project is built on solid foundation, dumping shouldn't be a problem, it will revive back in time as the project progress with frequent updates. Don't forget that whales contribute to this projects as well, they sell once they notice team is about to make distribution of token to hunters and after a while, they buy back at low price and sell high. You can't blame them, everyone is looking to book profits.
676  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency Adoption: A Breakthrough? on: October 26, 2020, 10:09:44 AM
How can bitcoin solve all the problem of the country?
Bitcoin isn't just a store of value but it bridge the gate between government and the ordinary people.
Last two weeks, there was a peaceful protest that was going on in Nigeria against police brutality and reform of some components of police force especially the popularly FSARS known as Federal Anti Robbery squad with their inhuman nature of extorting the youth because you look fresh, young with cash. During the protest, the able ones were making donation for food, money to hire lawyers incase of illegal arrest of peaceful protesters, the single account was frozen not later than 5 hours after Flucterwave detected they received $5k in just hours. Donations were later received with Bitcoin which sustain the protest for two good weeks

This is one advantage of holding Bitcoin, no central authority, no middle man.
Bitcoin also helps banks the unbanked countries to transfer value between people and also provide jobs for unemployed ones. P2p transactions this year alone in Africa is at peak, I believe the future is bright for bitcoin and cryptocurrency.
677  Economy / Economics / Re: The Real Situation :( on: October 25, 2020, 08:17:25 PM
Still, not a reason to give up and considered life as worst.

We have to adjust as always. Learn to adapt to what's currently happening.

The world will not end with these problems and speculations. We have to move forward.
The world chaos state is dynamic and it always find a way to adjust, the people find it easily to move on and continue their daily activities. From henceforth, the new world will be speculative until 2021.
If world War 2, Hiroshima and Nagasaki nuclear war couldn't end the world in the past, we will survive this tense pandemic fear that has grip the world to the throat. Most of the countries economy activity are back on track, we can only hope for the best.

My interest remain the next candidate that will win US election by next month.

678  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Defi project like game pump and dump on: October 25, 2020, 02:47:49 PM
What do you think of defi projects, most of them are only good for the short term.To make a big profit, we must enter at the right moment, if we are wrong we will lose very deeply.
I have a little advice for you, it will help you, your investment, but you can dive into the knowledge and learn the fundamentals perhaps you may later make a right decision.
  • Don't invest on Defi presale, there were instances where the team run away with investors money. They are anonymous, you can't track them.
  • If you must invest, search for already listed DeFi with high liquidity to avoid swapping challenges.
  • Avoid hype DeFi projects.
  • Please, do your own research. YouTube channels might be wrong sometimes.
679  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Which instant crypto exchange is the safest? on: October 25, 2020, 06:31:50 AM

A serious question pops up for those of us who have already become cryptocurrency adopters – how to exchange one coin to another rapidly, conveniently, and, most importantly, securely? Cryptocurrency exchange safety is something that gets questioned quite often. When it comes to large custodial platforms, hacks occur, the funds can be managed without the owner’s permission, the service can, after all, just close down and take the user’s funds down with it.

https://swapzone.io/learn/safest-crypto-exchange/

It's not you keys not your funds!!!
No exchange is safer than your personal wallet, your private key or mnemonic phrase can only be access by you alone. When it comes to third party ( centralized exchanges in this case), anything can happen. They are prone to bug, hence Hackers can extort money from them. The secured centralized exchange I can put my funds is Binance since Funds are Safe because of Insurance that backed user safety, though they were once hacked and users fund were move out of the exchange, they refunded everyone couple days later and that's why I prefer Binance exchange.

Kucoin was also Hacked last month due to security bridge by an insider worker, these are the problems we encountered saving funds on exchanges which is highly riskier than your personal wallet. Please, don't leave your money on any exchange care.

680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Newbie thoughts about altcoin investments. on: October 24, 2020, 04:28:53 PM
I will not buy Altcoins( new ones) until I can see their performance because of challenges they face at early stage, volatility is something else. It can grow by hundreds of percentage as well as the opposite. So many con teams in this space, one have to be gallant and open eye when investing otherwise, you will fall victim to most of these new tokens.
I will make an example of one recent altcoin that was launched on September, Markaccy promised heavens as Decentralized market internet stuffs, they canceled IEO after the scheduled presale ended and made direct listing on 4 top exchange (as they claimed), Lbank, Hoo, Hotbit and bit exchange. The team decideed to distributed only 13% to every presale investors with reasons unknown to me but did that stop the market from bleeding?
Mkcy made listing at $0.02 and skyrocketed to $1.2, after a couple of days, the price began to crash and the current price is at $0.079 as I'm writing.

Today, mkcy has made amazing increase by 29%

If you had bought at the bottom, selling back is another challenge and problem, the order book is so thin as the sum isn't upto $800. What below are bots.

These are the challenge we face investing in altcoins sometimes, it's better to buy top coins than waste hard earned funds on unrealistic projects. There are other hundreds of similar projects on CoinGecko and coinmarketcap.
