661  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How can we understand market going to be Bear? on: January 14, 2024, 09:49:14 AM
My question is how do we know if the market will go bearish.
Some traders will tell you that if you use indicators and drawing lines that you can know it. But if you use both, you may see yourself still losing as the market will not be in your direction. Trading will make people not patient and most traders are losing.

The only time I know the market will go up is when it has falling significantly. The more it falls the more it is likely that the price will start to rise. I am taking about bitcoin and not altcoins.

You can see recently that bitcoin fall from $46200 to $43200. Later it moved within that price to $43900 for some minutes or hours before it fall again to $41500. As it fall within like 3 to 4 hours two time like this, you should know that if you go in at $42000 or a pice lower, that you will make money as the price will rise more as at that time.
662  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Another question? Tell me your average amount per bet and your monthly income? on: January 14, 2024, 09:35:52 AM
Average bet amount per single bet all total bet for the month? Like I don't understand but if it's per month I can't really tell as it varies because I don't play same amount on each bets I place or staked but to sum it up the total amount I spend on sports betting monthly is not greater than 30% of my monthly income as I earn around $100 to $120 monthly because my income doesn't come from a single source.
30% of my weekly or monthly income is too high for me. It will make me to be looking for ways to win unlike the smaller amount that I am using that I do not care about if I lost it. Irrespective of the amount of money that you earn weekly, be it high or small amount, I think gamblers should not make use of up to that amount in percentage. Have some in savings instead. But if not affecting you, never mind me.

I think my allocation is good for average players because I'm getting my allocation from my extra hours of work, my regular income goes to my family budget and paying bills and my extra income goes to my gambling activity.
Yes 10 to 15% of your monthly income is good if not more than that. As long as it is not causing you any financial problem. As for me I go for just 5%. I have a separate wallet for this and I do not touch any coin on other wallets for gambling.
663  Other / Meta / Re: Dead Bitcointalk Theory on: January 13, 2024, 10:39:13 PM
I don't feel any shed of humanity in bitcointalk left, no empathy almost all posts are gibberish with no meaning at all. Most posts seems forced. I miss the 2011 - 2013 bitcointalk before the signature campaigns era.
This is rubbish. Be reading the posts of members like o_e_l_e_o, LoyceV, pooya87, FatFork, hosseinimr93, OmegaStarScream, NeuroticFish, bitmover, nc50lc, Charles-Tim, stompix, BlackHatCoiner, mocacinno, The Sceptical Chymist, Pmalek, vjudeu and many other members and see how there are many good posts on this forum.

I came to this forum and learned a lot. If this forum is not a useful forum, I will not learn anything.

There can be some poor posters. The higher people are in a place, the higher would be some good and poor posters, but there are good posters.
664  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as P2P currency vs Bitcoin as an asset on: January 13, 2024, 09:20:39 AM
Unlike before, if I want to send money to someone that is not in my country, I have no option than to use fiat which can be very slow and of high fee. Although bitcoin fee right now is also high but I can send it to the person aboard which would be very fast. If I want to make an foreign online payment, my country is allowed to pay but the bank is declining the transaction. I used bitcoin for the payment. There are times that fiat will fail someone as it is centrally controlled. But I still use fiat for making payments, especially locally which is fast and cheap.. Locally, I see no reason to use bitcoin.

Most of my transactions are local transactions. I use fiat for local transactions. Most of my transactions are local transactions. This always still makes me see bitcoin more as an investment. I have bitcoin because I invested in it. But sometimes I use it for payment. But what I noticed is that people use bitcoin to hedge against inflation and also as an investment, than to be used for P2P transaction. But we should still know that if you use bitcoin for investment, that is not affecting its purpose for P2P transactions.

666  Other / Meta / Re: How do I embed pictures or video on my post ? on: January 11, 2024, 03:16:36 PM
For video, do something like this:

Code:
[url=https://youtu.be/hGuCsZ_y1o4?si=w8CXx-RADQHpbzKC][img height=150]https://www.talkimg.com/images/2024/01/11/sDm49.jpeg[/img][/url]

You will need to add the image link and the video url link. You can not upload the video directly. Look at the code and you will understand it.

I made the play image to appear on the image so that people will know they can click on it to watch a video.

Or you can use this guide for it: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1998997.msg36997484#msg36997484
667  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who is the money manager? is it a casino or game provider? on: January 11, 2024, 12:09:30 PM
I'm not familiar with that kind of trend in gambling, to be honest, as long as the only thing I know is that most of the time when it's like that in a casino, usually the one who has control over the finances is, of course, the house edge, as far as I know.
What you are referring to is 'the house' and not 'house edge'. You meant that the casino is the one that will have control over the finances and not the game provider. That is true. But it is not the house edge but the house. The house is the casino, while house edge is something different completely. House edge is the casino advantage, the advantage the casino has over its players.
668  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 994 USD fees (30 Sat/byte) on: January 11, 2024, 08:05:38 AM
Say I have thousands of inputs and the total size exceed the block size. What will happen? I can't sign the tx?
As far as I know, the limit per transaction is 100kB. Obviously the block size is a hard limit.
Yes it is 100 kb. But I have a question that I wanted to have asked in the past. For legacy address, it is 100 kb, but what about other addresses that are not using bytes but virtual bytes instead like segwit? Let us say the input is 750, having over 110 kb but the virtual size is 51044 vb. Will such transaction be able to broadcast until it reaches 100 vkb?
669  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How will Spot ETPs effect the economics of Bitcoin and existing Bitcoin markets? on: January 11, 2024, 07:22:32 AM
I do not know how possible it would be for those companies not do manipulation that you are talking about. I mean in a way they will provide more ETF shares to their customers than the real bitcoin that they bought. But I think the amount of bitcoin they hold to provide bitcoin ETF shares will be transparent for people to see, but I do not know how people will verify the total amount of shares they created from it to be 1:1.

About the second question. Trading the ETF directly will not have effect on bitcoin price, what will have effect on bitcoin price is if more people are buying the ETF shares and then the company that are providing it are buying more bitcoin when there are needs for it as more people are demanding for the ETF. As the company are buying and holding more bitcoin, it will make bitcoin scarce and the demand also will make the price of bitcoin to increase.
670  Economy / Services / Re: Paxful Requiring ID VERIFICATION to withdraw your funds... HELP Needed on: January 10, 2024, 10:51:18 PM
I already logged in with an european IP address , if I login
now from a non KYC required country will the 'lock' be lifted or is
this lock permanent now?

once logged in with a KYC country IP and Im forced to verify forever to take out my funds?
Even if you login with VPN, you will still have to get verified. One of the most important thing to read about any service that requires deposit and withdrawal is if verification would be needed for withdrawal.

The simple answer is that you will have to verify all your accounts. Or you can contact their customers care to know if you can merge all the accounts together, or request for the ID documents of someone like your parent and siblings if they will be willing to help you.
671  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin investment on: January 10, 2024, 01:08:51 PM

If your friend is a true crypto lover and wants to get crypto accepted in his work shop, the best advice I can give him is to move over to a crypto-friendly country, which will be the best thing for him to do, and that's where he can get his customers who will be willing to pay in crypto, because in his country, where it's not accepted, both he and those who ever want to patronize him using crypto as a method of payment will share the same faith.
This is not the best advice at all. He has a motorbike shop. To move to another country will not be the best thing to do. He can just continue to accept fiat and no disadvantage to that. If he is successful in a business in his country, another thing might be what would happen in another country. If he is successful in his business, no need to move to another country. What should make someone leaves his country to another should be because of business opportunity and that is not the case here.
672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin investment on: January 10, 2024, 12:51:58 PM
You said bitcoin is not allowed in your country. He has nothing to do than not to accept bitcoin or any other crypto as payment. He can continue to use fiat. If he wants to convert to bitcoin or any other crypto, he know the way he is doing it before and that is what that matters. But as for selling his bikes, he should only accept your local currency than to do what may pay him in problem.
673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hoax: No Bitcoin ETF approval (yet) on: January 10, 2024, 12:45:44 PM
To be precise, all we know after the X security team's clarification is, that someone managed to access the account due to the lack of 2FA.

It doesn't say, an external hacker or a malicious SEC intern... The possibility is still there. It could've been an inside job with the same 50% chance.

How will United States SEC account not using 2FA after several news of Twitter account that were compromised. This is not new. The hackers were able to have control over the account because of SEC mistake.

I am guessing that it might be an insider work but this can be very wrong. If other Twitter account can be compromised, it is possible that this might be an outsider work.

US senators are seeking explanation about this and Monday is the deadline. Let us see what they Gary Gensler will say about it. https://cointelegraph.com/news/us-senators-letter-gary-gensler-congress-report-x-breach-4-days
674  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does it looks responsible as woman telling husband you gamble? on: January 10, 2024, 12:24:09 PM
Two people married to be one. Even as their may be some things that you may keep from each other, gambling should not be there. But the best is for you to not keep anything away from each other. Just tell him if you are not comfortable not telling him. But make sure you are using just little amount for it, do not gamble too much and do not let gambling take your time. If you gamble in the appropriate way, there should not be a problem.
675  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who does gambling addiction affect the most? on: January 09, 2024, 05:57:12 PM
If you are a father who is addicted to gambling, the ones who are affected are his wife and children because they are all the dependents of a father, so this will be worse in its effects.
Yes, wife and children are affected. But not only them but also the husband will be affected. It is because the husband that was affected that made this family got affected. But the husband gamble irresponsibly and makes him to become useless husband. It is good for people to know that gambling is not for making money to have some fun. But I use to wonder how some people will gamble and lose and gamble again. After several losses and gambling not profitable, they should have known to quit, but they will continue to gamble until their family started to know when the gamblers are going bankrupt.
676  Economy / Reputation / Re: Cantsay needs to change on: January 09, 2024, 10:28:38 AM
@_act_ In the first post I made you can see that I added “or use” which signifies that I wanted to add something more to it.

After my last case I have always made sure to use “edit” to notify users that I edited my post but I didnt find it necessary in this case since it took me less than 30 seconds to include the post that I wanted to do.
'Insert the link directly' and 'or' are not the answers to that question. What I am saying is that Mia Chloe answered the question and not you. But if people are reading it, they will think that Mia Chloe was late to give the answer after you but which is not. If you like, do not listen to what I have said but see this will not help you as more people will notice and come up with what I have just come up with about you. Make yourself a good post before you click on 'post' at all than posting what is not helpful at all but later post what the person that later answered the question post before you finish editing your post. It might even be seen as plagiarism.
677  Economy / Reputation / Cantsay needs to change on: January 09, 2024, 10:16:12 AM
Someone asked about how to add link to a post. It was Cantsay that first answered and this was what he posted:

https://ninjastic.space/topic/5480937

Then Mia Chloe gave the correct answer:

Later Cantsay edited his on post:

You can see the thread here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5480937.msg63467086#msg63467086

I will say it is just like Cantsay plagiarized Mia Chloe. But the question has been asked before that Cantsay was the one that answered the question. So I will not say that he plagiarized than he wants to be the first to post. I am posting this in reputation for him to change because this is not going to help him later.

We can edit our post, but it should not be in an offensive way. You saw someone that posted what you are about to post that is the answer to a thread, then delete your post is better than posting what that person posted and making it appear like you were the one that first posted it.
678  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to add link to post on: January 09, 2024, 09:52:29 AM

Click on the blue circle that looks like the earth and follow what Mia Chloe posted. Or you can copy what he quoted and edit it to your own link and words to be appeared

I saw that Mia Chloe first perfectly answered you before Cantsay edited his posts.

You have to be specific about which type of link you want to add to the post, whether it is a source link, a reflink, or a post link. Or you are trying to create an URL, you should be specific in order to get an accurate answer. Some links are not allowed by the forum, especially reference links; they are not allowed unless, in some circumstances.
Those answers above are enough. This thread is not about referral link.
679  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which wallet can i use for my needs on: January 09, 2024, 07:14:45 AM
I had experience a syncing issue once on unstoppable wallet but I would still suggest it for multi-currency wallet because of their reputation + open source + overall wallet experience is still great for the most part. To make sure you're not on some phishing link, see: https://unstoppable.money/
Unstoppable.money wallet has synching issue with some coins. The ones that I noticed are bitcoin, dash, litecoin and some other ones. No synching issue with those like BSC, Arbitrum, Optimism, their tokens and some other ones. It is not a wallet I can recommend for those like bitcoin, dash and litecoin. I remember when I have litecoin on it, it frustrated me as I kept sending the litecoin and the transaction was pending for a long time before failing and this happened several times until I decided not to use it for those coins again. The best open source wallet for altcoins is still Trezor, but it is a hardware wallet. One other thing I do not like about Unstoppable.money is that it is not supporting many coins.
680  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting on underdog by choosing a favorite spread to increase the odds. on: January 09, 2024, 06:57:16 AM
We might have a different analysis on betting an underdog team but for sure we are confident they will win. At least with the underdog winning and we are getting good odds, that's an extra winning compared to taking the odds that are 1.90 and below. Other might see it as a bad strategy, but it's not consistently picking the underdog, just choose the quality underdogs as that's the key on winning.
Let me ask you a question. Are you taking underdogs to win the strong teams and you make money while gambling this than losing?

There are three possibilities. The first is that the strong team might win, the second is that the underdog might draw and the third is that the underdog might win. What if you chose the underdog to win and the match is drawn? That is still also a loss.

I know that sometimes it can be good to choose an underdog but these are just few occasions when a strong team is not playing very well. An instance is when the last 3 to 5 matches that are played are drawn and most lost by the good team. But I know how gamblers think, they will be looking for such opportunity to win high odd matches, but several try might still be of losses if no winning, if you chose underdog.

As for me, I prefer tomost of the time choose strong team. But to draw is still another disadvantage even if the match is not lost by the strong team.
