661  Economy / Economics / Re: DEVELOPMENT CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS on: February 22, 2024, 05:04:29 PM
We cannot use the USD as an index to calculate poverty, if you have been to any central Asian nations or countries like Iran you get to know that things are very much affordable if you compare it with USD but rather it should be measured in their own average income in their local currency and take a baseline to define below poverty line index because in some nation if you own a house then $10 per day would be a good income wherein in some developed nation you will hardly get a sandwich or coffee at a decent restaurant barring the likes of McDonalds.

Regardless of whichever currency used to measure we can eradicate poverty by providing basics to have a dignified life like government should ensure everyone has shelter and work towards creating jobs which will help them to lead a dignified life. More welfare related policies should be launched as you cannot resolve poverty just by paying them rather creating a source for their livelihood by creating jobs.
662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The best new cryptocurrencies to buy in 2024? on: February 22, 2024, 02:28:42 PM
While I appreciate you effort in doing research and collating the list of promising projects for the forum users but I think we need to do our own research and need not to rush with huge investments at the moment because we never know which coin will rally since all of these are new and TBH I haven't heard of them as may be I am too occupied with the established coins or only those new coins which are getting attention due to their listing in top tier exchanges. We cannot predict which coins can pump because in the previous bull run we have seen even shit coins pumping up and good projects taking time, and those pumped up shit coins drops dead post bull run hence let's invest based on the technical aspect and the service which it has to offer.
663  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many times we will make the same mistake? - History repeats Again & Again! on: February 22, 2024, 02:13:52 PM
I have a slightly different opinion on real estate as it's not a guaranteed return as it depends on a lot of factors and I have seen some plots being idle from decades and useless so real estate is bit complicated one needs to do proper research before investing into it so 10x or 15x is not an easy feet to achieve. But agreed with gold as it has gained little over 2x in a decade. The problem lies with our mindset is that we expect quick profit or we are too carried away during the bear market we end up selling everything. I think we need to earn form mistake and give a chance to Bitcoin but the kind of prediction you have made about a whopping 8 digit seemed to be exaggerated for me but I may be wrong and short sighted.
664  Local / India / Re: Consequences of skipping 30% capital gains tax! on: February 21, 2024, 08:09:33 PM

Also, I am interested to know what will be the charges if someone doesn't pay tax? I thought added amount along with tax money but I can see they can imprison an individual too up to 3 years, so if you know please share. Smiley

In India, you are legally required to keep a record of all your transactional documents for 7 years. You have rightly said that anyone can receive income tax notice couple of years late. Firstly income tax will send you a demand notice and you are either require to pay that demand or to deny that demand if you have documented proof. If you do not submit your reply even after multiple notices from IT department, they can begin with legal proceedings against you.

But unless you have done something criminal or have not siphoned a huge amount of money, IT department will try not to take legal proceedings against you but will ask for payment of taxes. So my suggestion is to always pay your taxes. Also from next year onwards, start paying advance tax. That one thing will show your good intention to IT department that you want to pay your taxes. So even if anything goes wrong they will try to help you.

Don't bring such thoughts in your mind that IT department cannot do anything. Everything is linked with your PAN and Aadhar. It's not of task for a government department to find out about your finances.

Yes we cannot escape from IT as everything is linked with PAN as it will help IT department to track our transactions but the real problem is the unjustified 30% tax which no one would be ready to pay and TDS as well. Stupid policies of government has killed Indian crypto market and even if Indians are using foreign exchange still it's a pain to withdraw or convert it into INR. I see people holding on to their asset due to these rules and assuming this will be relaxed but I don't think it can happen anytime sooner but we gotta figure out how to survive if government don't take these policies back.
665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Seeking Advice ‼️ on: February 21, 2024, 07:25:45 PM
Splitting up $1000 doesn't seems to be a good plan IMO though I have diversified my profile a little bit but we are at the verge of Bull run or even bull run as some of the users claims you never know which altcoin can pump and when it will start dumping. Hence, I would suggest you don't experiment with lot of altcoins rather stick to Bitcoin and Ethereum, if you notice any coin having rally then you may take call at that point of time but for now Bitcoin and ETH will be the safest options.
666  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Start preparing for the next bear run. on: February 21, 2024, 07:05:57 PM
I have made similar advice in my previous responses as best time to accumulate Bitcoin is during the bear market and whales would have already accumulated it by now, though the current price is not a bad option but the profit margin would have been huge had they invested into Bitcoin an year ago. If I had to invest into Bitcoin now I would have rather waited for a market correction before or post halving (Currently I have doing DCA for a while and it has worked like wonders). Still there are chance to invest into Bitcoin and make profit as we are yet to enter the bull run but just the matter of profit margin which we will get by investing now verses someone who have invested last year.
667  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are most scammers from Nigeria? on: February 21, 2024, 06:42:45 PM
It looks messed up and something which have been created over the years, government should be held accountable for pushing Nigeria into such crisis but at the same time if your government is looting from you or pushing you to poverty that doesn't justify you doing the same with somebody else. people need to kick out the corrupt government but I don't think there are any honest politician who can lead because people still vote based on their tribe, connections wherein they end up selecting corrupt government.

It's really difficult to go back and correct it unless they adopt the method used by Singapore to convert it from a resource less poor strip into developed nation as they stopped voting and selecting candidates based on their connections or religion or tribe but selected government based on merits.
668  Economy / Speculation / Re: Capitalise on Bitcoin Bull Run on: February 21, 2024, 06:10:32 PM
The real winners or smart investor have already accumulated enough for this bull run but yeah there is no harm in entering the market now, I have just one condition if we happen to invest now which would be wait for a market correction and as you have mentioned let's not wait for dip but I would say let's not wait for massive dip but capitalize during the market correction and when I mean market correction it's similar to the one we saw after Bitcoin touched $48K. Anyways we have decided to invest so let's make the most of it by investing at the right time which will increase our profit percentage when Bitcoin goes on massive rally.
669  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where did u put your Money ? on: February 21, 2024, 05:25:41 PM
Investing in low value altcoins makes no sense if you are doing it without checking the total supply as it's a common misunderstanding that the coin which is priced very less let's say sub set of $1 have more chances of increasing by multi folds which is incorrect, for example people used to say the same for SHIBU but those who knows about how the market works will be aware that it can never reach $1 looking at it's supply. Bitcoin investment is good option which I am aligned.
670  Economy / Economics / Re: How can it be possible coping with one source of income on: February 21, 2024, 04:57:34 PM
Yes even I have gone through this as I had been doing more than one job but still struggling to cope with with the bills even after cutting down on all the unnecessary expenses. Here's the point if you are working multiple job with lesser income you will still struggle rather upskill yourself with the latest technology and get into high paying jobs in the market. Because I have seen a friend of mine who had invested his free time doing some networking course and end up earning more than what I earn with my two jobs combined. We need to focus on increasing our salary and yes having multiple stream of income is must as you never know when you may lose your job especially now as we are witnessing layoffs by tech giants as well, hence cannot be dependent on just one job or stream.
671  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Coin suspension on: February 21, 2024, 04:25:33 PM
There are various reasons listed by users in the above replies briefing about why a coin can be suspended and if it's suspended for conversion of ratio or some other technical reason it would be restored as per the announcement by the exchange, we need check their announcement and notifications to know the estimated time as these suspension comes with estimated resolution time. But, if a coin is getting delisted from the exchange you will not be able to trade it but you will be able to transfer it to a different exchange where it's traded within the cut off period which usually goes for months.
672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in Bitcoin, for long time Holding on: February 21, 2024, 04:12:39 PM
Agreed to certain extend as long term investors are safe and end up receiving more profit than the short term investors but not everyone can be an long term investors as those who have enough money, allocated some fund for risk investment can be a long term investor but someone who couldn't save much won't be a long term investor because those with lesser capital wants to increase their capital by earning profits as a result end up with lesser profit by cashing out early or enduring loss. I think DCA is the solution for all but one should require patience.
673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Opinions on the Pi network on: February 20, 2024, 09:02:31 PM
They have delayed it way too much and made people think it's a trap because here are people mining it through mobile for ages but we have not seen any further development about listing. Why would one project take such a long time to be rolled out? Users have done KYC as well. People have given up on this project after waiting for such a long time and I am on of them.
674  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If there was no government to govern us (humans) on: February 20, 2024, 07:55:41 PM
What you have are trying to ask is something which is not possible as there would always be some governance or rules which will laid on by a leader, elderly family members or even head of tribe but not necessarily in th form of government else the world will be messed up place of everyone decides to do whatever they think is right as there has to be alignment on do's and don'ts as even those rarest tribes who have no access or idea about technology have a leader and commands to follow. Without governance everything will fall like stack of cards.
675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to find and hold in Atlcoin effectively? on: February 20, 2024, 07:33:34 PM
Community and exchanges listing also play vital role in choosing any altcoins. A very good project, good usecase without a good community will not bring a good result. This is the reason Meme coins without any usecase getting lot of attention of big exchanges to list while good usecase project doesn't able to list in Tier 2 exchanges. Altcoins mostly work with trend. If gaming trend is on then its not wise decision to invest in Web 3 project. Similarly when layer2 projects are trendable then it's not time to invest in Layer 1 projects. I mostly choose coins having big community and team do many testnet phases to make their ecosystem friendly for all users. Token distribution also should be checked especially team members tokens. a good project always have a two year at least vesting duration.

Yes that's the sad reality as exchange plays more vital role than the project capabilities itself and you are right as we have seen lot of shit coins I would say meme coins which are listed on top tier exchanges like Binance tends to pump much higher than it's listing or ICO price but wherein there are good projects which are listed in smaller exchanges are just undervalued but unfortunately that's how the market works on a short term but on longer term good projects thrives and eventually shit coins gets delisted fron top tier exchanges and it's the investors who loses it all.
676  Economy / Speculation / Re: A new ATH before halving. Is it possible? on: February 20, 2024, 07:04:28 PM
Initial it seemed not an achievable figure but if we notice the way Bitcoin has been on a rally there are 50-50 chances of Bitcoin achieving a new all time high even before the halving. But I am more concerned about the correction phase which we might see before the bull run as usually we achieve new ATH post halving and if new ATH is achieved before halving and then we go on correction phase before actual bullrun it would confuse people further as they may think the bull run is over.
677  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it too advanced to get into Bitcoin now? on: February 20, 2024, 06:41:58 PM
You can simplify it, first of all if you are a long term investor you can go for it but if you are someone who don't want to be committed for a longer period of time then you have two options. Either you wait for correction phase a the current price definitely not a stable one as it has there may be more fluctuations or even market corrections. Apart from waiting for correction the second option would be to get into Bitcoin and so multiple quick trades to make some profit as the market is fluctuating. I would say you have missed the ticket for doing DCA.
678  Economy / Economics / Re: I went London i have questions now the wealthy life there on: February 20, 2024, 06:18:58 PM
Glad that you have seen brighter picture which doesn't speak for whole region or country because you will find such localities in even country including war torn nations. I have worked for UK based companies and interacted with consumers and I have seen other side wherein people are struggling with their pension with increasing inflations and ever increasing gas and electricity tariffs, etc. Every country has posh locality but that doesn't represent entire nation.
679  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it good or bad idea saving every penny on crypto stable coins on: February 19, 2024, 06:47:57 PM
Big No, don't risk it all, as there has been lot of controversies going around Tether and whether they have USD reserve for all the circulating USDT or not since all the audit reports posted are from themselves and not from any third party. It can go down like USTC anytime I am not a fan of USDT as I have seen in the past how it fluctuated in Indian market when there were rumors about banning it and if it really is backed by USD then these news shouldn't bother USDT. Bitcoin would be much better alternative as it could yield decent profit and secure as well.
680  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC hit 1M ? on: February 19, 2024, 06:18:47 PM
Indeed Bitcoin can achieve this remarkable milestone but 15 to 20 years are way too longer IMO and it's really difficult for people to hodl something in cold storage for such a long time as just one hardware device can ruin your life long saving if you lose it. I would say let's split our investment into long term hodling and depending on market flow as well. There is no harm in buying Bitcoin in the bear market and selling them off during the bull run or even when it gives a decent amount of profit and repeat the cycle but this would require a lot of patience where many people would definitely fail.
