661  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HODL bitcoins, you can do it! Look at HODL camp map to build up strong hands on: February 05, 2024, 10:23:22 PM
This map is screaming out the importance of the Bitcoin four years cycle, and it only favours those who understands, this was how I found peace with Bitcoin investment, if you can respect the four years cycle you will be a long term winner.
For sure the map shows the role which the four years cycle plays in Bitcoin but I disagree with the bolded statement because most people do not really understand the four years cycle of Bitcoin but it's really favouring them through the help of DCA. For instance I never knew of the for years cycle of Bitcoin but I know about the volatility of Bitcoin so after reading some threads like buy the dip and hodl I quickly adapt to DCA strategy of accumulation without understanding the Bitcoin cycle and I have been accumulating Bitcoin for some time now and I'm get favour from it because it's convenient enough to allow me take good care of other bills.

What I'm saying in essence is you do not necessarily need to understand the four years cycle of Bitcoin before you get favoured from it. as long as your practicing a favourable strategy you can also be a long term winner without understanding the four years cycle of Bitcoin.

Although, I choose to remain a realist, Bitcoin can't pump like it used to do in the past year when it was earlier and cheap, now do not let your too much price expectations take the best of you, be ready to start taking some profits after having going into the year 2025.
I don't know any thing about how much Bitcoin will do this time, so I will only follow some few guides in this forum for sustainable Bitcoin withdrawal strategy in order not mess my targets up.

To some people, Bitcoin is the best-known asset to humans and they are willing to sit and even sleep on their bags, they have the conviction for long term, this is also my goal but it won't stop me from taking profits and buying back the dips in 2026, like I've said before, all it takes is understanding the four year cycle.
You know, the first line of your sentence seems to be a criticism but I will skip that. the sad truth is nobody makes decisions for anybody so it's in your court to play your ball but I will not be a party to regrets. although its good to enjoy your profit I mean what's the need to invest if you won't make use of the profit and like someone once told me life is too short to be unhappy so make your self happy. but even before investing you should know that what you're investing is an amount that you can do without for a long time so if this has been put into consideration then you wouldn't be think of touching your investment at any point soon.

Note; don't mind my English only take the message.
662  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This was my highest risk. on: February 05, 2024, 09:45:30 PM
Merely looking at the stake and the win one could just conclude that you didn't take any risk because the stake is less than a dollar but looking at the whole story I can't believe someone will take such risk, although that amount you bought the game with is based on ones capacity there are people who can afford it whether they loss  or not they don't worry about it but for you OP with your expression it means it cost you alot if that amount was lost.

Well on a personal level I will never take such risk even if I got a lot of bucks sitting on my desk I won't imagine trying such. You probably got a 2X of your stake and that's very nice. Congratulations on this but I wouldn't suggest you take such anymore.
663  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's stupidity to have thousands in Bitcoin using a software wallet on: February 05, 2024, 06:43:32 PM
As they say there is no 100% safe wallet based on some biased points but there are wallets that are more secured than others.

At your level I don't think you should be making this kind of mistake because even from the first week I got here (when I started participating in discussions) I noticed that almost everyone suggest electrum as a good wallet when ever it required wallet issues and with the time you have spent here you most have heard of such too, so I'm not expect a person of your rank to make such silly mistake. Even with a little amount like $500 we are always advised as newbies to start considered better wallets like Electrum, Sparrow, hardware and cold store wallets and from such you should have moved yours to this preferable wallets that you can be confident woth your stash.

Online wallets can still holds so big amount of Bitcoin but it's will more safer if one acquires a hardware wallet or a cold storage wallet but this two wallets are mostly used long term purposes. If you need to make a day to day transaction then you should have considered better wallets.

At the end I'm really really disappointed to see a senior colleague make such mistake. A 10k is an insane amount that you could toy with, if such mistake was made by a newbie it should be understandable because he/she lacks better wallet know at that point but for someone of such position is very disappointing. To think that you did even write than your recovery seed phrase, so sorry to day is that not insane?.

Well everyone has lessons to learn and I suppose this is yours.

664  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: February 05, 2024, 01:22:34 AM
In this world of cryptocurrency especially bitcoin you need to have your technical knowledge. most people engaging in bitcoin are uninformed money users, which don’t have any good knowledge about bitcoin, but if you are a smart money investor you will know when to purchase an asset when its price drops and holding onto it until there's a significant price increase and profit made. In in our society when engaging in bitcoin you need to crucial because of exchange rate and not to be at lost. But before you decide to “buy the dip,” you need to be fairly certain that the asset's price will rebound and not continue to decrease because you will be at lost. but to to able to engage in bitcoin dip you need to have good steady income to engage in it passively and to make profit. imagine those who bought bitcoin at the rate of 40k and which it decreases to 16k and should it would have been in lost .so have many income level it’s important before join bitcoin. but those who hold and waited till it raise will make profit.so engaging in this activity of bitcoin you need to have patience and good income level to succeed
Hey buddy! first before I digest everything you have said, I will advise you to make use of some good AI tools to give your writings a better meaning. I suppose it's exhausting to start editing your post before I can write a valid comment on it. You can use Grammarly and Quilbot Grammer checker to correct your grammatical errors.

In the aspect of Bitcoin Investment which is a core part of our discussion I do not see a relationship with technical knowledge and Bitcoin Investment because currently anyone can invest in Bitcoin without so much knowledge of it yet. as they say experience is the best teacher in this context ad long as one starts Bitcoin Investment with a minimum amount as time goes on he/she will get aquatinted with Bitcoin knowledge gradually as long as they practice. so having technical knowledge is absolutely not part of the discussion, I see that you're a newbie so you will still find it hard to understand everything that's is being discussed here, although before diving into the discussion you should have read at least 1 - 3 pages of he thread to get a clue of what's being discussed and at least 2 of the last pages then you will comprehend gradually.

This should cover almost every part of what you said wrong. Bitcoin volatile nature has brought about some critical thinking that lead to some purchase strategies that are currently keep the ships sailing with low risk and profit certainty if only held for a long term and this strategies are called DCA (dollar cost averaging), Lump Sum and buying the dips which was the intention of wind_fury for creating this thread. amongst all of this strategies DCA is the most convenient that allows investors but high knowledge and low knowledged invertors to invest and profit from the management without much worries. this strategy eliminates your fear which is the price of Bitcoin moving the opposite direction. those who invest through DCA do not worry about the market volatility anymore because they accumulate Bitcoin gradually with some certain amount and with this they put themselves inorder and do not panic when the market moves to a depreciating direction. if you want to know more about this strategies you can visit search for threads like JJG's Outline of Bitcoin Investment Ideas.

665  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Making informed decisions is our responsibility on: February 03, 2024, 08:15:13 PM
Information in is power just as they say so that fact can't never be neglected. reading of valid articles, books and other readable is very important in ones life not just for those of us in the crypto space.
Long time ago I read about the habits of the rich and I found out that reading is also part of their biggest activities. Another I saw too was the saying that the level of information you have determines the level of your success although it might be wrong from other perspectives but it's all connecting. we got to stay informed in the crypto space and that's why this forum was created to keep the crypto enthusiast informed always.

Mind you the right information is the core objective not just anyhow information.
666  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Financial advise from a self acclaimed crypto investment professional. on: February 03, 2024, 07:48:15 PM
This is just another reason why we need follow instructions in that we get forum the experienced members of the forum. although those here in the forum could be lucky to learn but those newbies that are not in the forum are the people that really need help on how to follow up this kind of financial advise.

Rationalizing what this person said, it could be correct from his or her perspective but also wrong in another perspective. there is a proverb that says another man's food is another man's poison, so from this maybe the person most have succeeded with a little profit from some altcoin (shitcoin) in the last cycles that warrant such advise thinking that it will work this time.

From what he or she is saying it's more like gambling with one funds which ever profits you then it might end up covering your total losses. but this might end up ruining the lives of people who are not into crypto already because they might all in to an investment and if it's starts moving the opposite direction they will panic and at the end loss so much money. but what will be the need of gambling with ones funds when they could focus one coins that have proven themselves in the last cycle and avoid puting too much risk.

Another thing is the adviser may not even be part of the program he or she predicts but will only give advise for people to try their lucks. if they succeeds with this advise he/she will use the testimonies to make some acclamation trying to show him or her self approved.

For me I would have love to give in to such advise but why will I take such risk again. I guess it's not worth risking my funds at this point except I have enough to gambling with.
667  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it valid to invest in a gaming projects? on: February 02, 2024, 11:13:52 PM
Another pump and dump project. Even with description that you said it's among the 10% that are good I still know that it's absolutely scam project that will rub all investors after some time.

It's even more obvious that you're shilling for the project because you're just a newbie to know more details of such new project.
668  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you use profits from the crypto market? on: February 02, 2024, 10:45:34 PM
I want to hear from you:
  • Have you ever been profitable and taken profits in the crypto market?
  • How did you use that profit? Do you use that profit or reinvest it?
  • Do you think using profits is also important for your investment journey?

Like most people said as long ad you have been investing in the crypto space in one way or the other you most be profitable especially those of us in the forum, we have benefited alot from the market. although I'm still a newbie in the crypto space but at least I have profited from the market a few times now both on altcoins and bitcoin.

For me I used the profit to settle my little expenses that rises on a daily basis, I mean what's the need of investing if you are not going to enjoy your profit. Additionally I used a part of the profit to reinvest but not on the same coin this time and i splited the profit to different areas and also keep some in fiat to my regular use, i guess that id meant to be called my emergency funds.

Yes of course, what's the essence of investing of not to take profit. when you profit you use your profit wisely that's the only advise because we can not always be lucky every time.
669  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Why is bip 39 a very much reoccurring word in Bitcoin on: February 01, 2024, 11:03:24 PM
From  my little knowledge bip 39 is a Bitcoin improvement proposal that provides how wallet generates the string of words to create a mnemonic sentence which are the seed phrases. Its responsible for converting bunch of words like 12, 18 and 24 words seed phrases to addresses and private keys.

Its most used for wallet recovery because it contains a bunch of words that could help recover your lost wallets.
670  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Too much pressure on the male child on: February 01, 2024, 10:40:31 PM
It's more like a norm that every man should be strong enough to face any kind of challenge in life even from childhood we are all expect to remain calm when situations get too tough and try as much as possible to be strong without crying out for help and this is killing some young men inside.

Although I have grow to see that society decides almost everything in life, if society say as a man you must have kids at this age and if you fail to have kids at that age you seem to be awkward or not belonging to the society. and this notion has to change everyone has a role to play in live let's not make it a big deal for men that they most be at the top every time and met up with our own failed expectations. some fathers couldn't make it to a certain level so they decided to force their male children to meet up with that goal and this has the biggest pressure on the male children.

Parents have to stop the difference in male children and let them live a free live not one filled with so much expectations.
671  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Why it's very risky to leave your coin in an exchange on: February 01, 2024, 10:28:38 PM
One major reason why them dey always advise person not to keep him or her coin for exchange na because of hackers and scammers. some exchange na scammers build am ooh inorder not to look like scammers wey dem be them go just try make everything legal then one day when them get plenty trust and people don up to billions of assets for the exchange them go just claim say person don hack them and so them go close the exchange with your coin. so like play like play your money don go.

So as soon as you get any asset wey reach at least money wey dey significant to you like $500 or 200 self na to find wallet wey go dey reliable like electrum etc then move your coin go there for am to dey self. as for me no na to buy hardware wallet like trezor to hold my assets. So the same advise go for every body make dey careful with out money for crypto because scammers them no fey give up.
672  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To what extent have you hated yourself due to your gambling losses? on: February 01, 2024, 10:07:51 PM
For me all the time I have gambled I consider it fun although I loss but it's funny sometimes because I intentionally place bet that even common sense will tell you that it's never gonna work but I still proceed.

I use to gamble because I want to make a significant amount of money that will change my life but i realized its never possible to make a good living out of gambling.

One time i had bad experience with gambling was when I got scammed apart from that experience I have never had any bad experience with gambling anymore.

Some time ago i was with my boss in his apartment and everyday we spent together after work we will fund our online casino which is the BC games we usually compete with each other who will make more profit while playing the crash game so it's just fun all the time.
673  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction does more harm than mere financial loss on: February 01, 2024, 09:44:16 PM
There are many negative effect of gambling addiction if been buttressed but you ended up almost summarizing everything in this few points.

Gambling addiction reduces one potential in life, most gambling addicts end up not achieving anything in life because all their funds goes down to gambling even in middle of work you tend to see some of them opening there devices to confirm if the booked games are done playing and so on. This attitude of addicts brings everything even their relationships for the floor just because they attach so much attention to it.
674  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reason for acquiring bitcoins. on: February 01, 2024, 05:45:24 PM
most people are tired of the financial services the banks offer so they make bitcoin they're last option

Most?

400k tx a day, 40 million total addresses with a  balance over 1
vs
100 mils CC payments alone in just US, 62% of the world population having a bank account

More like 0.1%!

I guess there is no better word that suits what I was trying to say. I can't say everyone is tired because some people are not even enlighten on what the banks are doing to them, while some are part of the beneficiaries so can't really quit their involvements.

I can't say few or more so I guess most was my alternative lol  Grin
675  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why a large Bitcoin transaction does consume more space on the Blockchain on: February 01, 2024, 05:28:17 PM
For example if you're to spend 1BTC in a TX and a 0.10 BTC you don't expect the smaller transaction to contain a bigger space. The higher the input the higher the space it takes in the Blockchain and also the higher the tx fee.
You are completely wrong.

Please always read previous replies before making a post.
As already stated, the transaction size and the fee doesn't depend on the amount you send. Therefore, it doesn't matter you are spending 1 BTC or 0.1 BTC.
What matters is the number of inputs and outputs.
I mistakenly hit the post button while I wasn't done writing. If you read it again you will see the difference although I was wrong in the above statement but I knew what I wanted to say.

Thanks buddy for the correction!
676  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why a large Bitcoin transaction does consume more space on the Blockchain on: February 01, 2024, 05:14:19 PM
I'm not too aquatinted with technical knowledge but from my little understanding naturally anything that is large should require a larger space too. You don't expect a small input to take a large space in the Blockchain.

The higher the input the higher the space it takes in the Blockchain and also the higher the tx fee.

So, size of input = size of tx fees = transaction space in the Blockchain.

Additionally, from what I perceived from the above statement is if 1BTC is spent in an input it takes only a small space because it's just a single input but if spent in different inputs it takes more space.
Like; 1 bitcoin to be spent on 5 different addresses will take much space than when it's sent to a single address.
Although I may be wrong but that's what I understand from the Bitcoin transactions.
677  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reason for acquiring bitcoins. on: February 01, 2024, 04:56:55 PM
Don Pedro Dinero has given the honest answer so far. One major reason why we accumulate Bitcoin is because we seek financial freedom and that is one of the reasons Satoshi Nakamoto created Bitcoin for.

Bitcoin gives absolutely freedom to your financial life carrying out transactions with out any third which works under the control system of the government. most people are tired of the financial services the banks offer so they make bitcoin they're last option.

If your are to accumulate Bitcoin. just keep holding and when you hit a peak that suits you then you can sell and enjoy your profit because there is no need to make money if you are not going to spend the money.
678  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Psychology of Investing in Bitcoin on: February 01, 2024, 01:50:16 PM
It's an individual thing everyone of us in this forum has what lead him or her to this forum and as such it's an individual thing. Your intentions is different from mine and that's how it differs to every other person.

Another thing is nobody goes into anything for losses it's either for the knowledge or for profits.

And for a privacy supporter like me I just realized this recently that im more into Bitcoin because of its privacy and freedom, I don't like being controlled so I chose to be free with my finance with the help of Bitcoin.
679  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: What makes BTC stronger. on: February 01, 2024, 01:33:08 PM
One thing I usually say is it's not just the characteristics of Bitcoin that makes it strong because there are lots of Altcoins duplicating this same characteristics and making it even better like Monero coins has the biggest privacy that Bitcoin has minimal of it.
but the what makes Bitcoin so unique is that its a paradigm shift of its own. it's what brought about all the changes and lead to the characteristics which is described as what makes it strong.
680  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Proverbs and Sayings that Act as Triggers to Gambling on: February 01, 2024, 12:50:54 PM
I don't know any proverb or popular saying that backs up gambling or support gambling but there are some that could mean otherwise but uses gambling as the phrase. Just say this statement you mentioned from the Chinese from my perspective it could literally mean something else but has the tune of gambling.

Like this popular proverb " life is a game, play it" it doesn't really mean life is a game but it's used to express some things that may not be understandable in other words thats my view of the Chinese saying.
