661  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 30, 2023, 01:53:27 PM
I had the same thought. Chelsea has had a very inconsistent performance. So even though they play against mediocre teams, which incidentally are at a level below them, but there is no certainty that Chelsea can win the match. Luton is not better than Chelsea, but they have the advantage of playing at home, so there is still a possibility for Lutton to get points in this match.

The first half of the match has ended, and they both played well in the match, even though we know that Chelsea is not supposed to compete with Luton Town, but Chelsea are inconsistent this season. Luton played well, but they couldn’t convert any of their opportunities into goals in the first half of the match, they didn’t even have any shot on goal in the first half of the match, but let’s see how the second half of the match goes. Chelsea had few opportunities, but they made good use of them, they were able to score two goals in the first half of the match, which is really a nice one for Chelsea. Let's see if Chelsea will be able to maintain their win in the second half of the match, or maybe they will be able to score more goals.

It's really been a while that Chelsea is winning comfortably by 2:0 in halftime, I think the last time they won 2:0 in halftime was during their match with Arsenal which Arsenal later equalized the goals and the match ended in a draw. Though Chelsea and Luton are playing good football in this game but seems Chelsea is gonna maintain the lead and claim all three points. Chelsea winning crystal palace in the midweek and also trying to win Luton in this game will be a very good achievement for them as they are running far away from the relegation zone. Well let's watch and see how the match ends at last as they are just in the early minutes of second half now.
662  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rich, average or poor. Who loses more? on: December 30, 2023, 01:41:55 PM
To me I feel the Rich loses more because they play with huge amount unlike the poor and average that stake with little amount though the poor are more of gambling addict because since they don't have much money they always play so that they could win and possibly achieve something with the money.

The Rich and wealthy people in our society are mostly secret gamblers as you hardly see them in gambling hall all they do is stake huge amounts online so when they lose a bet they just drink it off and move on with their life because the money is their but if the poor plays and loses he becomes so angry and unhappy.

I believe that the average and the poor in our society plays more than the rich but it's just obvious that they stake with small amount such that if the lose it will be a little amount as well but the rich takes advantage of their wealth and stake huge in other to win big as well so if he loses a bet the money he used in staking might even be the amount the poor or the average want to win.
663  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Turkish Super League 2023/24 Season on: December 30, 2023, 11:26:00 AM
Despite Fenerbahce and Galatasaray going head to head on points that's the both clubs have got 44 points each, I still see Fenerbahce winning the Turkish super league this season because of their high goal scoring in their matches so definitely they will win the league also considering the availability and strength of their players they are still very much in form so they should maintain this awesome performance they've started with so that they can be more confident in achieving the trophy.
664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Conference League 2023/24 Season on: December 30, 2023, 11:17:10 AM
It seems like the Conference League isn't much to get excited about, even though the teams that play here are at least still part of the top European leagues . But ya,still, the reality is that the Conference League is not as interesting to look forward to as it is about what kind of team has a better chance of getting the trophy . But maybe, becasue still there Aston Villa who is having a very good trend this season, then maybe Aston Villa will be a strong candidate to get the Conference League trophy this season.

But about Ajax who will play against Bodo/Glimit in the play offs, I think both have a chance to qualify for the next round of the Conference League. Because ya, anyway, at least we can't put high hopes on Ajax at this moment, because Ajax is really facing a recovery period . Also,it's unclear whether Ajax will prioritize the Eredivisie or focus on the Conference League and therefore, I guess it doesn't seem like there are any guarantees for Ajax at this point.

To tell the truth my favourite to win the title is Aston Villa as they are the strongest one among the remaining teams now. If their performance in the group stage was bad then I would have reconsider my choice but they weren't like that at all. They had a solid group stage. Maybe their group wasn't the most challenging one but still.  Smiley

Aston Villa are really busy with the Premier League on one hand as they are fighting really hard in the most difficult league in Europe. They are very competitive for even the title there for now. Considering that I wonder if they would have any problem on balancing these two tournaments later on. But they are just playing really different in Emery's control so I would expect them to be successful at doing this.

Though looking at Aston Villa's performance in the conference league and in the premier league so far, it can be believed that Aston Villa might be the likely favorite to win the Europa conference league but notwithstanding Aston Villa's lovely improvement this season, I still see clubs like Fiorentina, LOSC Lille, club brugge as teams that are also stronger in the conference league along side Aston Villa so definitely, there's gonno be lots of competition in the league so for now tipping Aston Villa as the title favourites isn't too certain.
665  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: December 30, 2023, 11:07:54 AM
The mistreatment of a family member, especially a granddaughter, is a separate matter that suggests deeper psychological issues. It's essential to address the root causes of such behavior and consider appropriate interventions, which may involve both legal consequences and mental health support. Severe sentences alone may not be a comprehensive solution, but a holistic approach that combines legal actions with rehabilitation efforts could be more effective in fostering positive change.
bad actions committed by gambling addicts like that actually deserve more punishment than that, but maybe that's not enough for the rest of the family, but for me, an addict just needs rehabilitation and education and space to talk about why he committed such madness. meanwhile gambling is not a valuable thing and gambling is just a place for entertainment and with rehabilitation and a gentle approach this is the most severe punishment because if he is aware of his behavior he will feel regret for the rest of his life and will not repeat it rather than having to give a very severe punishment. gambling addicts become more aggressive without remembering their mistakes and may repeat the same madness.

but in the case you say, it is indeed very serious and legal action must be taken to fix it, but I am worried that as I said above, if the punishment is too heavy, he will not regret it but ignore it.

You see, it is very bad for a gambler to transfer aggression of losing a bet to family members or people around them because even there are age range of people gambling and this age is an acceptable stage when one can take responsibility for their actions and inactions so it is better to be well behaved in the society and not to be too deep if you're losing bets consistently . There's no excuse for ones actions so a gambler doesn't need to be too mean and extreme simply because they lost their bets. The reason why there a slated age for gambling is because it is believed that at that particular stage, any one entering into gambling should be more matured and handle issues in a more delicate manner
666  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever heard about financing a gambler? on: December 30, 2023, 10:54:50 AM
How will you feel if someone you know or just a friend of a friend walk up to you and ask you to finance them in gambling in exchange for a portion of their winnings? Does this even make any sense?

Because the only place this makes a bit sense is the skills base niche like forex trading or crypto trading, how can gambling/gambler be financed?

Have you heard of such before? What is the end result if you have?

Why would you trust anyone to gamble better than you can when it's all about luck?

Is anyone doing this on here?

Someone explained this to me, and I believe he is already a victim because to me it doesn't make sense, I believe he is been used because he lacks knowledge about gambling, do you think my judgment is wrong?

OP, I don't think that's ideal to finance anyone or group of person in gambling, gambling is a risk stuff, as a reasonable person, if people work up to you for business collaboration, first of all you will have to study the profit nature of such business, and also the risk involved, you can't just release money just like that unless you decided to dash them the money, op, I will speak for myself, your judgment is right, this guy that explained this incident to you is a victim, but in the aspect of some gambling better than you, I strongly have the feeling that gambling is a luck game but individuals can master some games and become successful in those game that's all I know.

Like I don't even see any reason why a gambler or gamblers should be financed because gambling is basically a business that has a 50/50 chance of winning and losing, like the percentage are both at equilibrium so anyone who wishes to make profits will understand that financing a gambler is a very big risk of losing your money, though sometimes there are individuals or group of gamblers that makes real predictions, but it's not all the time they make reliable predictions.
667  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It is you who can't stop betting. on: December 30, 2023, 10:46:49 AM
Anyone that is gambling and not able to control it simply means that the person is becoming an addict already or he is already an addict. If you are gambling and you are losing but not able to control it but you continue to lose and you continue to gamble, that means you are an addict.

You see gambling most time is impossible to control because one major reason why people get involved in gambling is either maybe someone won a huge amount of money in betting and the news goes viral or maybe someone introduced you to gambling and you actually won. If you join gambling and you were able to record a winning then you automatically have been initiated into gambling especially when you're in a critical situation that requires money to sort out things then you eventually won a bet and you use the money to settle your problems. And to me addiction in gambling is just as a result of focusing all ones energy in gambling like your life is dependent on it or you can't do anything again rather than gamble so gambling addiction doesn't only apply to losing and continuously playing as their are also gamblers that records winnings but yet they act like their life is geared towards gambling.
668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you make gambling a profession - a full time job on: December 30, 2023, 10:36:51 AM
Every one is entitled to their own opinion but to me gambling shouldn't be taken as a full time job be it that you make a lot of profit from gambling or not. It's really sad when I walk in to gambling hall and see some gamblers so devoted to gambling despite that they're losing more as some of them can stay in gambling shops all through the day without making any profit but instead they keep losing even if is someone that wins a lot but at least is good to also have a source of income then if you play gamble and win a lot it will just be an added advantage to you but it shouldn't be what you depend on all through your life.
669  Other / Meta / Re: New Year = New Password (...and new you, too!) on: December 30, 2023, 04:59:01 AM
No, although it's recommended to frequently change passwords but i still  push how long and strong password combination is the most important.
As for the 2fa, the secret key should be saved to a safe place just like how important password and private key/seed is.

I see no reason why one should be changing password regularly but it it recommended to use a more complex characters combination to generate your passwords rather than changing password oftenly and changing password frequently can also pose a distrust because it will look as if the account have been compromised and since the password changes is visible to all in bpip.org it will be difficult to trust such a user, moreover the introduction of 2FA is also an additional security to enhance a safe account security measure.
670  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HODL is purely a mental challenge on: December 30, 2023, 04:38:36 AM
It takes a lot of courage to hodl in the face of Bitcoin price going up and down and I won't blame those who cave in when things get hard because as the Op clearly stated, there's just so much the mind can take, but I feel it's more blessed and rewarding to hodl than to sell Grin. The expectations most bitcoiners have of the event of the Bitcoin halving is to me enough reason to continue hodling.

The prices of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are very volatile but the best approach to raking in more profits is when you don't panic and sell just because you feel the market is crashing. To me panic sell defeats the purpose of hodling.

Sure it really not easy to Hodl due to the market fluctuations but however, a good trader needs to be very hopeful that the future holds more goodies than now so it is advisable not to be afraid of the uncertainty of the future of Bitcoin because so far as cryptocurrencies are concerned, bitcoin being a more volatile asset will continue to conquer and dominate the activities of all other cryptocurrencies.
671  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 💱🟢 P2P-Trading is NOT difficult. Start increase your crypto balance today 🟢💱 on: December 30, 2023, 04:28:53 AM
The p2p features on an exchange are a great help for traders who used to transact in their fiat currency. Binance for example, their p2p
feature is really fast.

In other exchanges that have p2p, it's fine too, but Binance is different. Maybe because of the well-known exchange in this field, more people trust the Binance platform. Even if we say that it has a required KYC, that's fine with me.

I have made series of transactions on binance P2P and all went very well and most traders also do commend Binance for giving a credible means of exchanging crypto with fiat despite some frauds but however, the fraud rate is at minimal due to KYC features though it doesn't really guarantee a full smooth trade but I think it's preferable.
672  Economy / Speculation / Re: What are we expecting between now and Bitcoin halving? on: December 30, 2023, 04:14:16 AM
Am expecting the good, the bad and the ugly but however ETF approval will be a very big milestone achievement towards the enhancement of Bitcoin price pump, so I'm optimistic that the ETF will get real and I'll take a new dimension in Bitcoin because we all know how the bull market will look like.
673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What we all learnt this 2023 on: December 30, 2023, 04:04:35 AM
👉 Don't take popular opinions as an investment advice. If there is anything I've truly learnt from my time in this forum, is not to follow popular opinions or crypto influencers. Making reference to a trend some months ago about bitcoin price reaching an ATH of 100k this year which is obviously not going to happen because of the current price and market conditions, I guess it would take the hand of God to make that happen and we aren't even sure if we are in a bull run or not.

Of a truth a lot of investors are so focused on predictions and speculations by some big names in the crypto space but yet most of their speculation never came through. Focusing on ideas of some crypto analyst is never a good step though it's good to make speculation because those speculation also gives an edge of optimism towards the future of cryptocurrency but one shouldn't be carried away because it may come through or it may not come through
674  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Am I being restricted? Again? on: December 29, 2023, 06:19:07 AM
So, you are asking...."Am I being restricted? Again? ...and the "again" implies to us that it is not the first time that this is happening with you.  Huh How was this solved the first time?

If you want to see if this is a problem with the account or the device/software that you are using, then I would switch to another browser or to another mobile device or laptop or tablet.  Wink

I was also thinking same way because if he was restricted before then there was actually a solution that's why he was able to access it again and he ought to have known the cause of the restriction before now and maybe now that a restriction has also been placed again there may be some rules that he broke or possibly from the device he's using because some time ago I was also experiencing some difficulty logging in my account from my device so I used another device and the site opened and I was able to log in. So if it isn't your browser or your device then it might actually be that there's a rule that you are going against.
675  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lack of proper knowledge on casino games increases chance of loss and reduce fun on: December 29, 2023, 06:02:07 AM
I played Roulette on a casino three days ago and it was obviously my first-time playing Roulette, I literally didn't understand my way out and I just knew I should select a number and click on spin. I did that obediently and time after time, I lost. I was really motivating myself with the next spin, and next and next, but all to no avail, I was lost in the ride until I drained my deposit for the day's gambling, that time It dawned on me that my Ignorance has contributed to my parallel losses for the day, I just logged out and ended that day's session disappointed.

Yesterday, I was discussing with my friend on my experience, and it was more obvious that my Ignorance played a major role in my bitter experience days before. It was after I was whipped badly that I went back and saw the demo option which I should've used to learn before I engaged. Also, I wish to advise all new gamblers to visit demo space in the casinos where you can learn before you start playing with real money cos I think it will help people master the games before engaging to have more fun, because not only did I lose money that day, but honestly, I didn't have any fun.

I would like to ask if some people here has experienced this too and what is the possibility that most people who experience repeated losses are Ignorant of the game play patterns.

It's essential to know that gaining experience is crucial not only in gambling but also in trading. Both share similarities, and if you lack experience, it's wise to start with a demo. If you lost, it's not entirely your fault; perhaps you were too hopeful about winning and overlooked the importance of knowledge and experience. It's great that you now realize the importance of starting with the right approach. Stick to the demo, give it another shot, and it will enhance your chances of winning.

You are right on gaining experience but I want to let you to understand that gambling entirely is a game of chance as most times, no matter how experienced you are, you will still get losses but however it is good one have an adequate knowledge of the kind of gambling they're getting involved in, so that he can apply some wisdom that may lead to getting winnings, I remembered some time ago when a guy that isn't well knowledgeable about gambling walked into a gambling shop and started playing very impossible options and he kept playing and losing and we got to understand that his friend won a bet previously so that made him to start playing gambling without any preknowledge of how gambling works so in this kind of scenario, getting some tips and experience is really needed before getting involved in gambling.
676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A hero or a fool? on: December 29, 2023, 05:46:34 AM
Definitely a fool, if he already went to a gaming commission to have his name blacklisted or banned then shouldn't his gambling habits have stopped because he was banned or flagged whatever? But as the story goes on, this person can still get into these casinos and still play but only get a 200 USD win, man can still waste money and not be able to bring back a profit because he can't win big which is stupid, if you're not stopping from gambling even after you did those crazy request from the gaming commission then nothing changed because the money spent is still there and he's still gambling.

Like what is even the essence of getting his name banned and flagged if he can still continue gambling with a winning limit of $200 like this is insanity, had it been he did that in other to quit gambling it would have been better but what he just did doesn't really change anything but it's just an act of childishness because I'm yet to figure out the motive of his silly decision.
677  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can loneliness make one addicted to gambling on: December 29, 2023, 05:37:40 AM
There is nothing loneliness can not do, it can make us to do undo and involve ourselves in something that is not going to affect us positively in the future. We need to make sure that we deal with loneliness and involve ourselves in something that is profitable so that we are not going to become desperate or do things without thorough thinking. We can involve ourselves in so many things to make sure that we are not lonely so that we don't ignorantly involve ourselves with something that is going to cause problem for us in the future.
Loneliness is very serious. I think if a person thinks that he is thinking about loneliness too much then he will be very weak mentally. There are some people who sometimes take up some bad addictions from gambling to other to relieve loneliness.  Gets involved in their own ignorance. After getting involved in this kind of addiction, they have to face many problems to get out of it. Loneliness makes a person very weak and can also ruin his life.

Loneliness, otherwise isolation is very bad because so far as you're always alone all the time there are some bad thoughts that would be running through your mind more especially if you're losing bets because sometimes you can run into depression and even make an attempt to take your own life but when you're mixed with people, maybe gamblers and you also see some persons that are also in same category with you, it makes you calm down and move on in times of challenges so basically, not only in gambling but in life, being too isolated is a bad attitude that can ruin ones life in a lifetime so no matter what you're experiencing or going through, loneliness isn't the best option.
678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any fun in losing while gambling on: December 29, 2023, 05:30:59 AM
Well the only fun I see while losing in gambling is just if one is losing and continuously continue to play with the believe that he might get lucky and win before he exhaust his money but basically, I don't see it as a fun if someone is losing because no body wishes to lose money while having fun of this nature (gambling) except maybe if the person just scrap out money to use and gamble some complex options in gambling with the hope that he wants to try his luck even if he knows too well that those options are difficult to come through.
679  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Just think of holding and not the high transaction fees. on: December 29, 2023, 12:49:48 AM
OP when you say we should think of holding and forget about high transactions fees is it not when you buy that you will be able to hold? Now buying Bitcoin requires you to also pay transactions fees and considering the high transactions fees now it will be difficult to buy and hodl Bitcoin because no one will want to buy Bitcoin at a very high price and also be expected to pay high transactions fees so it's really not easy for Bitcoiners now, Bitcoin developers should find a way to remedy this situation before the quest to accumulate Bitcoin decreases
680  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The danger of blaming everything on politics on: December 29, 2023, 12:21:56 AM
Na why we never still grow as a nation. We know say our politician no de try at all but we need to understand that our lives first of all is our individual responsibility, most of these politicians made sacrifices that the average Nigerian will never agree to just to get to that position, and you think they should be too bothered on the masses? The sooner we understand that "na only us waka come this life" the better it will be for us. Even our parents at some point no go provide everything we need .

Already I have always been saying it that we are the author of our problems in this country like me I don't blame any politicians or government for what we are experiencing now because we actually brought this problems to ourselves regardless of the fact that our government also contributed to this disaster because I see no reason why some groups of person will see something that is bad but due to the fact that they have been compromised, they now see the evil our politicians and government are doing as good things in their own eyes. The earlier we stop being compromise by these selfish individuals that doesn't have the well being of you and I in their heart, the better it will be for all of us.
