661  Economy / Economics / Re: COVID is dead, "long live the new COVID". World economy get ready? on: December 28, 2023, 05:39:38 AM
Seems every year comes with its peculiar challenges and as the year goes on, new sicknesses and wars keep coming regularly.

So many persons haven't recovered fully from the effect of COVID-19 both in their businesses and the trauma some families have to go through because a live one went down because of being infected with the virus.

I just want to assume that this is just another exaggeration coming from the media and that it's just a minor issue that would be address easily and won't end up becoming a major global problem.

God will help the world.
662  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is Too Expensive For Me. on: December 28, 2023, 05:29:18 AM
The value of Bitcoin has gradually reached great heights. It has become impossible for a new small investor like me to invest in Bitcoin. I am a very small investor. $2k wealth is mine. Well does Bitcoin provide any opportunity in future that I can invest.
when it comes to investing in Bitcoin, the interesting thing is that you don't need to have the equivalent of 1 bitcoin before making your initial investment, with as low as 100 dollar , you can make your first investment which gives a spare $1900 left in your hand.

The jerk is to invest a reasonably high that won't put you in a condition of regretting ever making the investment in cases when you experience a momentary drop in the price of bitcoin. Start small and grow big and soonest you will be the advising those coming behind you.

Wish you the best of luck.

To be youth for this country no easy at all, the way our country done dey now, e Dan give us the youths the impression say government no get our interest at Heart,  with the way Nigeria youths dey creative and hard working, even in the face of this hardship and unemployment most youths still find way to improve themselves, through other means like crypto currency, social media etc,
So this our mentality is second to non in Africa, the way Nigerians dey hustle if we get better economic atmosphere for this country more youths go make in the face of all the hardships and pressure.

664  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: When last did you drank to stupol on: December 27, 2023, 06:48:36 PM
Being drunk is am awful feeling, in this  season of celebrations  and enjoyments don't get caught up by this act.

How funny it is to become unconscious by what you consciously use your own hand and put in your mouth.
You have to watch yourself and know your limit because it has so many negative effects,  many accident on the road are cause by people that are drunk.

Share your own experience or thought about this.

the first and last time I can remember ever taking alcohol should be almost 15 years ago.

My experience was bad and I can't imagine myself in that state again, I guess that's the reason why I have never tested alcohol again.

My granny use to sell alcohol then and because I looked very innocent, she would normally send me to go fetch it for customers. To cur the long story short, a day came when I foolishly drank a quantity I can't even remember, after drinking it, I went for more and continuously took it till I couldn't move again.

Everywhere was reviving around me and I didn't know what was happening to me, I felt I was going to die and when I finally came out of it, that was the end to anything alcohol.

I no do again, no matter the pressure, nothing fit push me to try am again
665  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: YOUTHS AND 2024 on: December 27, 2023, 06:40:58 PM
With the saying that youths are the leaders of tomorrow, which I believe doesn't really resonate with most Nigeria youth, how are we going to change this narration come 2024 as hope for youths in this country are getting dimmer and dimmer by each day.
I need us to deliberate what Youths can do to take their future back as things are not looking good as 2024 approaches
live your life without and forget all those cliche. The truth is that youth are actually the leaders of tomorrow and that most of them have started leading already.

That a youth isn't the president of governor of a state doesn't mean that youth see not holding active offices in the country. Except you want to be sentimental with your analysis if not, their are let's of youth that are currently leading in different positions in the country and their are lots of firms and offices that are looking for qualified youth to take up responsibility and most of them aren't even interested in it.

How many youth are even putting interest in circular politics?

Almost all the youths I know of that take circular politics seriously are occupying one political position or the other. Those old men you see their are looking for young individual that has capacity and that can relate with fellow youths whenever they want to reach out to the grassroots.

If you are interested in leading the country in a way, don't sit back and complain, join a political party and engage activity in their activity and see if they won't allow you to run for a position provided you have what it takes to fining the party a win at the pole.

No political party is giving any leadership position to an individual just because the person is old, the major factor they consider is who can bring victory at the like, if you are that person, no matter your age, they will all support you.
666  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: [Fun Discussion] How Will You Escape if You Find Yourself In Such Situation 😁? on: December 27, 2023, 06:30:23 PM

667  Economy / Economics / Re: Sometimes tips the securities at the mall or local shops on: December 27, 2023, 06:23:08 PM
I haven't worked as a security before, but from my observations, I would say the securities are really doing a pretty good job. Securing whatever we go to the mall, we keep an eye on shoplifters to avoid thefts and nuisances. Personally, I am scared of that kind of job because you have to sign an agreement that stipulates that anything could happen while you are on duty, and only your family will be compensated on your behalf if it eventually leads to death. But i see those guys do their jobs with passion and happiness.

When we walk into a mall, I believe they are the first person we see, and i have seen most of them with a lovely smile and welcome message. While you are leaving as well, they say goodbye and thank you for shopping with us. Don't you think they are worth tipping? Sometimes we should tip them and appreciate them for their services because it is not an easy one and their salaries are low as well. Tipping them will help solve some other needs, or if they have a family, it will help provide extra money for the family.

the security agent at every location they are assigned to carry out their duty perform task that endanger their lives just so the masses can engages in a peaceful activity. Once you see them, you just comfortably go around the mall with confidence because you know if for any reason anything goes wrong, you have someone to come to your rescue.

It's very necessary for occasionally express our gratitude to the services they render even with the little pay they receive at the end of every months
.

And some of then still manage to put out a smiling face even after they've not been paid for a long time.

I guess this popular statement by my local police force sums it all up, "the security officers are your friends, and so treat them like one and don't be mean towards them.
668  Economy / Economics / Re: Why must you used such money to purchased a car? on: December 27, 2023, 06:06:12 PM
I know, having a car as a young guy is very good to reduce some transport fair in some area and to make it easy for your family or siblings to catch some fun in some good area. But how can someone at the age of 20 years used $28 millions to purchased a car that is not going to bring income to he, when we have some decentralized investment you can invest such amount of money in the bear season and have hope of making more money that will reach you to start other business that will be fetching you cool money. This is what one of my friend did few months ago despite the advise I gave to him to invest the money on BTC or Ethereum, that  he will make more money that will give him more opportunities to build more companies but he never listen to my advice despite the inflation in the country but he went to used $28 millions to purchased Rolls Royce that will not last more than 5 years before it will start looking like old car to the eye of people. If you have such friend that doesn't have any investment and he went to invest such money on car will you continue to take such person as your friend? I have separated from him based on the money he use to buy car that will not add value to his life but people said I would have not separated from him that it have been long we became friends in the environment. What I did is it good or bad so that I will know how to apologize to him to continue the friendship with him.
you want to advice someone that can spend $28 million dollars just to purchase a car? You are doing very well.

Anyone that can use that amount of money just to purchase a car should be a wealthy person that has dozens of $28 million dollars in his savings and you should definitely not bother advising him.

If I convert that amount you just wrote out their casually into my local currency, it's enough to feed a full community fr months and such a friend if such individual is damn privileged to have such person as a friend.

Truly, if this story is not fabricated, you are a big boss and should show us the way.
669  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the need to be known a requirement to qualify for a loan(s)? on: December 27, 2023, 05:55:11 PM
I have come to realize that our traditional local banks only really give out loans to persons, or organizations that are known either online or offline and has a location with documents to proof their existence.
Same goes for those who use loan apps. You have to at least identify with the verifications stressing on passport, state of residence, age, and the funny thing is that your device location will be required to be turned on while doing all this or even applying for the loan.

I have no doubt my observation is applicable to even crypto currency lenders, because even these days the P2p system isn't as decentralized or anonymous as before where we think we were trading with bots or fake people/scammers.

Is there any truth to the fact that an individual needs to be known in any place before they can qualify to receive loans?
That is, is the need to be known or identified really required to qualify for a loan?

What are thoughts?

before you decide to give out any loan to an individual, it's necessary you at least try to know who you are dealing with. The thing is that people are always afraid when you threaten to post their pictures in the public domain if they fail to pay there loan and that's the reason why most loan vendors would want to get your location and face verification before accepting to give you loan.

If you don't do those things, people will create multiple account and will get your loan and zoom off with it without any trace and that's why they take it as a necessity before even considering you for any loan. Most liab apps now require that you use your face ID to log into your account whenever you log out and if the face doesn't correspond with the initial face you used for the account registration, you can't even be granted access to the loan app in the first place.

If you found a particular post or thread this year that has helped you in anyway, feel free to post the link in this thread and let us know why it has helped you.
The topic of the post I'm recommending is "how to avoid a scam project" posted by @FireDAO CY. Although he is a newbie, and although the post is more of a question type,  from the replies I read in the question he asked, I learned a lot of things about scams associated with new projects and also read through peoples experience as they shared it under the thread. This is the link to the post.  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5450212.msg62150669#msg62150669
671  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you prefer to own a luxury watch or invest in bitcoin or other assets? on: December 27, 2023, 04:56:31 PM
Luxury watches at the top end of the market can be considered as an alternative form of investment. While I don't possess extensive knowledge about watches, my understanding from available information suggests that reselling them can yield a substantial profit. The return on investment for luxury watches tends to be quite satisfactory. Prominent examples of such watches include Patek Philippe, Rolex, and Audemars Piguet, some of which have a waitlist spanning two years. Most of these watches tend to appreciate in value.

However, the worth attributed to an item is typically influenced by its demand and supply. While I believe that owning one or two high-end watches, provided they are well-maintained, may outperform stocks, gold, and real estate, it's worth noting that their appeal may diminish over time. This is because future generations are increasingly gravitating towards other interests, such as bitcoin and other emerging trends. If given the choice, would you prefer to own a luxury watch or invest in bitcoin, digital assets, gold, stocks, or real estate?
i have never considered buying of luxurious watch as an investment to be very honest. If I am not wrong, most wrisk watches becomes outdated after a while and apart from the authenticity of the material used in the making of the watch, most persons would want to buy a recently manufactured watch with a current design and aesthetics than going for one that was manufactured five to ten years ago.

Bitcoin has proven to be very volatile in a positive sense and although at certain occasion, it value might reduce, deoreciation doesn't act on bitcoin and I would prefer it over wristwatch investment anyway and anytime.
672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: biggest misconception about Cryptocurrency? on: December 27, 2023, 04:46:56 PM
What do you think is the biggest misconception people have about cryptocurrencies, and how would you clarify it?
the major misconception I know most beginners have is that they think investing in cryptocurrency will guarantee financial freedom within a twinkle of an eye and most of them don't even know the right cryptocurrency to invest in.

The clarity is that although investing in cryptocurrency could increase you invested funds, it's not aimed at guaranteeing you freedom financially, and knowing the right cryotocurrency to invest in is very key as it is very possible to hold on to the wring cryptocurrency and get nothing out of it in return, bitcoin has gained the trust of the populace and has been consistently increasing at reasonably speculative way so investing in bitcoin could be the best form of investment as it patterns to anything crypto investment.
673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin investment is kind on: December 27, 2023, 04:20:05 PM
Probably many people has invested in bitcoin and they got profit and some also got loss for the investment, also some people have converted their business payment with bitcoin instead of making payment with fiat currency but nevertheless you can not decide to follow a steps of someone who benefited with bitcoin and open a shops and demand payment with bitcoin,

So myself I have decided to launch a vehicle parts shops in my city by January 2024 and I have decided to use Bitcoin as one of the criteria of payment because of what I'm seeing for bitcoin increment and my country that permit for cryptocurrency transaction in my country, secondly I want to start having my own bitcoin with the payment of my vehicle parts, I don't know if mempool of bitcoin I have being hearing will still continue by next year 2024 because I sense that it's what will bridge people not to make a payment with bitcoin if i open by January 16th, because all the necessary arrangements has already put in place and  awaiting for January 16th to open officially.
interesting!

Hope you know that before thinking of including the use of Bitcoin as one of the payment channels in your business, you need to have carried out thorough research t know if the prospective customers in your chosen field of business knows about Bitcoin, have bitcoin and will be willing to make purchase with their bitcoin.

You should understand also that even though I have huge amount of bitcoin, I doubt I would want to give it ou in exchange for any goods I intend buying. Have you considered that even if your prospective clients have bitcoin, some of them would wand to hodl it and wouldn't want to use it for any mode of exchange.

You have to do the needed research before making your final decision.
674  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Help someone in the year 2024 on: December 27, 2023, 05:01:52 AM
How hilarious it is when some persons brag about there there assets and achievement to the people close to them, but when it comes to things that will add values and meanings to there life they become mute, they don't share ideas and opportunities, many are quity of this act but don't forget that someone you help today can help you tomorrow.

Happy Christmas day my people.

its very necessary I help others rise with you, if you are the only one doing well financially in your circle and all you do is just gist with your friends and has never cared to carry them along you are endangering yourself big time. The truth is that you can't help everybody rise up financially and you can't always be their to provide financial advice to everyone that comes your way but its very necessary you guide the few ones who are sincere about their zeal to learn.

Put up one or two persons you can trust in your circle and build them up to becoming strong with you, they will feel that they owe you are lot and you will always have a trusted backup in times of difficulty.

It's better you don't even associate with people your financial state intimidates than associating with them freely and assuming they will always be happy with you even in their brokenness.
675  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Limitation curse due to over dependant on: December 27, 2023, 04:51:44 AM
The curse of many failure is over dependant on successful family member I observed this I said let me bring to the table for more discussion close neighbor who brother always render help both on festival season and others days was fully hoping to receive gift from the same person as usual on this Christmas but the hope failed him I saw him murmur and so sad I asked what happened due to closeness he open up from the things he outline I come to discover he didn't plan when he have opportunity all his mind was things remain constant that changes will not be immediately but unexpectedly it comes leaving him begging to survive  my concern is should one wait till become victim of circumstance before he learn or take from others occurance in relation to our work on bitcoin I know is platform that is professionally manage by business taccum ,sound investors, best market analysts etc, as one who operate on this area do you think enjoying all you got here without plan is good idea won't a day of regret come such one I witness crying discuss.
depending on anyone at to solving your financial needs at this stage of life will put you in serious disadvantage.

You've got to understand that life is a personal race and no one owes you a dime in terms of providing shit for you and so if you for any reason they decide to do so at any point in time, you should never feel entitled to it.

Some of these our supposed rich relative before even coming back to the village already know those ones that will always ask them for money and don't have respect for them, the least you can do for yourself is to respect yourself and find something reasonable you can do to support yourself financially.

Them swr make you no de give others money?
676  Economy / Economics / Re: Setting up financial structures before going into the family way on: December 23, 2023, 10:31:10 PM
There are girls and women and you know what I mean.

Girls love fancy things that is why men are interested in spending their money so they can attract girls whereas women who are mature enough to know what is really needed and who can understand their partner and lot of other things so the marriage will last forever.

even though we call them girls or woman, they both like money and it literally takes money and love to keep them. No matter how responsible a woman his, if you don't have the financial resource to take care of her, you will loose her to a stranger.

Age only goes to show that she might have had a financial  backup that will help her support her partner reasonable and that's what will fuel and enable the union to work
677  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nowhere is safe part 2 on: December 23, 2023, 10:26:26 PM
I remembered when I posted this some time ago and some people kept saying to be safer you need to be on an off/hard wallet.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5469814.msg62971784#msg62971784

And here, I talk about Hacks that happened both in Cex and Dex
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5471139.msg63031458#msg63031458

I said it, if we are in this cryptocurrency ecosystem, our first safety comes from us. No matter what you want to use, there are times when what we believe is the safest won't be the safest. In my post in that link above, I talked about navigating how to be at least 60-80% safe with your assets.

I just got this news that some users lost over $600k from hackers on their Ledger wallet.

https://www.dlnews.com/articles/defi/a-ledger-employee-got-phished-defi-users-lost-thousands/?utm_source=telegram&utm_medium=organic_social&utm_campaign=
safety is not always 100% guaranteed, but their are method that are safer than others although they both require carefulness and lack of unnecessary greed that could lead to hacking of a users account.

One has to know that anyone can be victim of hack and so its necessary we put in the effort in ensuring that we put in law all the safety measures that are needed to guarantee our safety to a reasonable extent
678  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: YouTuber's hype video is not good advice on: December 23, 2023, 09:00:49 PM
Yeah, that's true.
An average YouTuber is after getting a huge number of followers and so they will create topics and images that will fetch in subscribers for them even when the quality in the information they are padding is very low.

For those that are a bit experience in the Bitcoin soave, its easy to know when a channel had content of low quality byt I doubt a total novice who is just trying to figure out his way around Bitcoin will easily different the good from the bad channel.
679  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: What opportunities do you see around you? on: December 23, 2023, 08:53:33 PM
Nigeria is a very blessed country with virtually everything you can think of... from Natural resources to human resources. We really do not have a business with being poor.

The major problem with Nigeria is that we have not really had a leader with vision and the political will to pursue the Nigerian dream. All we have so far are people who want to enriched themselves and their cronies with no regards to what happens to the country, her citizens and her future. Now that leadership failed us, should we fold our hands and cry forever?

Look around you, you can practically see opportunities everywhere. I intentionally went for market survey this Christmas season to see the prices of things especially those with high demand. I was shocked to know that 4 months old broiler is sold for as high as N15,000. A rubber of garri goes for N1,700, a bunch of plantain goes for N5,000 while a bag of rice goes for N56,000. I quickly recurred growing up in the family of farmers, these were items we were playing with then that have turned treasures.

It is actually funny that the food production of Nigeria is not enough to feed the citizens.  Why then are people not going into farming? Why do we cry about unemployment when many people have lands they can cultivate in the villages yet lying fallow. I truly see a very big opportunity in farming.

There are many other areas that present huge opportunities that people are not tapping into. My mindset has changed so much lately as I have realised that Nigeria is like an untapped treasure. I'm from South South Nigeria and I can only say about my area. Those from other regions can narrate what they consider as opportunity in their place.
there are lots of opportunities surrounding is in this country that are yet untapped she its very evident around almost all the 33 state of the federation. Every state has abundance of resource that is enough to sustaining our youth but the problem is that most of us aren't looking into it and our concern is so much fixed on the oil that other resources has become obsolete to our view.

In my locality, we have abundance of fishes and a lot of fertile ground that are yet to be cultivated and I bet you that if you involve in either of those two you will earn 5× the amount you will be oaud as a banker but because we're too used to certain jobs in the society, who cares about those supposed manual jobs?

If you decide to go into those jobs eh, you self go belief say God truly bless us on a normal.
680  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Don't fall victim in this season of Christmas and new year. on: December 23, 2023, 08:45:55 PM
Greetings my country people, I know many people are in their various places already to celebrate the Christmas and new year. I created this topic to please Naija bitcoiners to always delete their alert text message from their phone which are some of the things that is making some of their friends or relative to organize Kidnappers to empty their money they have struggle from January till december to saved. Something terrible just happened to someone in my community that came with his new car and his family to celebrate the Christmas in the village but on his way to pick some of his friends that he has been with since on Thursday and, he was Kidnapp despite he didn't go out with his camera phone but the Kidnappers was demanding for #500,000 from the victim family before they later changed their mind based on the transaction text message they saw on the victim small phone and they changed the ransom from #500,000 to #10,000,000. And the Kidnappers empty the guy account before releasing him to his family and I hard that the guy has vow never to come home for any reason again.

I'm in the village to celebrate the Christmas and new year with my people, but if you see me, you will not no that I came from city to join my village people to celebrate the Christmas and new year but I have deleted all the alert text message in my phone and my camera phone so that nobody will know anything about me. Let us be our brothers keeper by always alert us in this Naija local board and to be in security caution through out this season of celebration.
this is a very good information and we need to take it seriously. Some of us are very careless die some sensitive information about us, as much as you can try, ensure that no one knows how much is in your account, it's better they assume the amount but never tell them or make them see the amount you have, even someone that normally will not take your financial life seriously on a normal day will start looking at you with a strange eye once they confirm with thier eyes that you have a certain amount saved.

We need to understand that people are going through a lot and that the frustration of life can push people to ding unimaginable things just to get access to money and so you don't want to fall victim.

Make everybody use him head abeg.
