Would like to see how much needs to be spent till the bubble bursts, instead of 1.5x the spend.

Once the lotto is won will the bubbles go in with the bursted bubbles or a separate category.  I would prefer to see them in a separate category.

I've seen this question elsewhere on the net and it doesn't make mathematical sense.

That would mean EVERY time someone joined after ID 3, the site would be taking in 1 btc and paying out 2.2 btc. EVERY. TIME.

So basically the site would be giving away 1.2 btc all day long for everyone that joined.

It's not a charity, sorry.

The site takes in 3 btc for every 3 people joined, and pays out 2.6 btc for every 3 people joined.

On average this means that every time someone signs up, the site takes in 1 btc and pays out 0.86666666.

Didn't think it through much before i posted, I think i was tired and didn't feel like thinking, like i usually try to do.
so i'm waiting for about 200 more entries to get my payout (i'm #111) would be nice to see a status on the page.  Looks like i'm 1 of 51 still waiting for a payout

I think FXnet was the first one and they are up to 750 or so. hope the same people play sldoubler too, I'll go adjust my links.

Q: What happens when timer reaches zero?

A: The person who last made a spend will instantly receive the entire jackpot. Then all spends will be cleared and the bubble game will start from scratch.

all spends meaning all un-popped bubbles?  meaning you get nothing back if your bubble doesn't pop, before the timer runs out?
665  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin Bubble Game (with jackpot) on: April 25, 2011, 08:37:19 PM
Thanks for all your ideas and suggestions. I will think more about those, but for now I have reduced the timer to 5 hour and set minimum to 0.10 btc. As time goes on I will probably reduce the timer even further.

Also, I added timestamp to each bubble now.

5hr timer seems good.

Time stamp was a nice add.

I think it might be a little too soon to up the minimum to .1

make me wrong...

How is top spender calculated?
From btc address to pay, or from btc payment sent from addy, or from individual sale?
667  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin Bubble Game (with jackpot) on: April 25, 2011, 04:01:47 PM
How about rotating banners from advertisers at the top of the site? The more bubbles you buy, the better your odds that someone will see your banner.
Great idea, I have added rotating ads weighted on spent amount. The more you have spent in the bubble, the more likely your advertisement will appear. If you have not entered url and/or banner we will display a default advertisement (operation fabulous).

Operation fabulous links don't show up in empty bubbles.
Maybe also randomise empty bubble with content from topspender/next to pop/new/popped.

How about cutting the timer in halve and doubling the spend every day?

In 2 weeks this could get very cost prohibitive
669  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin Bubble Game (with jackpot) on: April 25, 2011, 03:48:04 PM
Tried to get al my thoughts on one post, just remebered this one...

Place the most recent bubble, and the bubble that will pop next in the part of the page that has your top spender ad,and on every page.
Also maybe a random popped bubbble.
Or if that's too many (I think 3 or 4 is good though) banners at the top make a random rotator for topspend/nextpop/newest/popped.

This will help the bubble that's about to pop go out with a much louder (more clicthrough) pop.  Help the new guy get some quick exposure, and give some exosure to your past contributors.

I do find upto 100 of he same ad somewhat poinntless when looking through the pages.  Can't think of anything other than the suggestion in my previous post to allow the user to put a different ad in each bubble at the time of spend.  Also kindof time consuming since I posted about 10 different links.

Nice work on the site.

Nice game, id like to see a time stamp in each bubble, or maybe a calculator showing how oftent or how much is being spent.

I expected the time to go down one second per bit cent instead of resetting.  Now that I see how it works maybe one bitcent raises the timer by 1 minute.  Once the jackpot gets higher and you get mor traffic might want to change to 1sec per bitcent.  Would be nice to see about a jackpot a day.

There was a 4 or 5 hr window last night that I could have won the lottery if the timer was lower.  I think 4 hr time would be good.

On raising the cost of entry, allow small entries, that way newcomers who got something from the faucet and haven't found other ways to get btc can play.  Instead low plays only get the 150%, or maybe they only get a partial jackpot.

On buying multiple bubbles, i'd like to use a different link for each one.

Another thought was something like payout 10% when the first full (not just a new page created after but a full one) page of bubbles is created after yours, pay out 10% when yours moves up one full (from top of page to bottom of next doesn't count needs to move a full page) page pay out 20% when yours reaches page 1, then pay out the remaining 110%.  I think this would get people putting back into the game quicker.  Course my bitcould would be required in this case for bubbles under .1 or make a selector switch fo the user.

http://sldoubler.com/?id=111

question about the structure, the wording wasn't completely clear to me
I'm guessing it is set up in the first way wich is nice.  If its the second way then people further down the line will take a long time to get paid.  either way admin is getting quite a nice profit, thanks for the opportunity to play and maybe get a quick return.

I'm guessing its set up this way but not sure
so person 1 gets paid after 2, 3, and 4 have joined
person 2 gets paid after 3, 4, and 5 have joined

or
person 1 gets paid after 2, 3, and 4 have joined
person 2 gets paid after 5, 6, and 7 have joined.

not sure how to keep anon (if your gonna use a dr.), but just came across this article and thought bone marrow might be a good category and other things depending on how far you want to go.  something like Ripple could be helpful too.

the potential for things to be involuntary concerns me though.

also i was thinking of a movie i saw a long time ago, a scene involves a bunch of asian guys, and a lottery.  When the guy's name is pulled he wins something he had requested, but has to give up something random.  I think one of the characters has to give up an eye, but his daughter gets a kidney. or something like that. any one know the name of the movie?
673  Other / Off-topic / Re: What would you do for $5 of bitcoins? on: March 04, 2011, 08:05:17 AM
I can't think of anything I could do for 5BTC, but ask and I'll try.

675  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Get bitcoins when you use Amazon. on: March 04, 2011, 07:36:34 AM
I think amazon policies are against paid referrals.
did you get special permission, or just keep quiet.
most CJ affiliates are against this, but unless you have some other way of driving huge amouts of traffic, you can't make much money off it.

dealspl.us, fat wallet and similar sites are good, but they tend to strip your refferal code and put their own in.

feel free to visit opticbit.com, let me know if you do some action the would get money for me, I'll send some BTC to you after its deposited.

678  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Common Law System on: February 27, 2011, 08:58:46 AM
I set up a wiki for people to come up with a legal system to agree on.
I'm not an expert on anything (government, legal, coding...) and the information started is only a seed, that can grow and change as anyone sees fit.

Some people need a legal system to fall back on, others do not.  Those who do not need it, still follow some type of rule wether it is written or not.

The goal is global, i think I've set it too high, it can be used as something to fall back on after an overthrown government.  Something to assist in the take down of a tyrannical government.  Something everyone on earth can agree on, that can be adjusted quickly, and its activities are open to anyone.

Maybe this will help? http://www.jonathangullible.com/PoL/philosophy_of_liberty.swf

Also, you might check out the wikipedia article I first linked to about anarcho-capitalism.

i've seen that animation or something similar a while a go.

anarcho-capitalism looks like something good to incorporate into the system I am suggesting.

my knowledge of legal systems is very limited and basic.   I have a lot of research to do, so that i can organise and explain my thoughts better before asking more knowledgeable people to assist in drafting something like this.
680  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin's immunity to government action on: February 27, 2011, 06:51:06 AM
You seem to be intent on recreating old mistakes... Voting? Limits on Business? Sounds more liberal than libertarian. I can explain to you, point for point, why government is not needed, as can probably each of the other people who responded to you so far...

Can you explain why we need someone to tell us what to do?

if not government then what?  I guess I need some things need explained.

Maybe i should say its more about what people will do and not making them do anything

voting is only a suggestion, some other system is welcome

MOST people do not need to be told what to do.

what do you do for those who do need to be told?

If my view is that the only exception to having the right to do what you want is if it prohibits others from doing what they want, and in that case it is just to take away that person's ability to continually prevent someone's freedom.
