661  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AHHHHH Nicehash Legacy is making me pull my hair out!! on: February 19, 2018, 07:47:24 AM
I am running Windows 10 Pro.
I am pretty sure it is the #6. When I saw the machine this morning it was the only one with the fan still spinning (all the others were stopped) and the machine was completely locked up....
Try to check your Win 10 version, Open Run type Winver and hit enter. I suggest using Win 10 latest update 1709.

If you sure that the GPU 6 is causing your problem, try to disable it when mining, you can disable it using device manager or hit number of your GPU on Claymore if you are using Claymore.

Yes, you need to increase your Virtual Memory, at least 16 Gb.

2000 Watt PSU is enough for your 8 Cards, but maybe something wrong with powering scheme.
662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Asus, Gigabyte or MSI cards? on: February 19, 2018, 07:29:26 AM
unfortunately evga is not really available here also zotac, so I'm kinda stuck with those 3 brands. But asus / msi prefered over gigabyte?
I have a few series of those 3 brands, R9 (290, 290x, 390, 390x, RX 400, RX500) and only 2 NVIDIA card (1060) if I referring to my personal experience. Yes, I vote Asus or MSI from those 3 brands (ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI).

First, which Windows version you are using?
Yes, you could try to disable one by one card on Claymore, and see which card causing your systems crash.
664  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Asus, Gigabyte or MSI cards? on: February 19, 2018, 05:42:33 AM
This is my personal experience with those brand with r9 390 series.

ASUS: Pretty Good in performance, the temperature is stable, but its fan quickly wear out.

Gigabyte: Standart performance, temperatures tend to be hotter (even with a triple fan).

MSI: Pretty Good in performance, the temperature is rather hot but still in the normal category, more Durable than another brand above.

I have more than two cards for every brand, So I can compare each brand.

how can one get to start the mining o Nicehash as i have often times been interested in mining but then the skills aren't easily gotten if not impacted upon by someone who knows better
almost most new miners using Nicehash because it's very easy to use, automatically switch algorithms and payment will be on Bitcoin. and I believe if they enough knowledge to switch manually coin. that's more profit and more safely.

With RX 580 8Gb will be better if you didn't use Nicehash Legacy, it will give you a little bit different Hashrate with other lower cards. Using Claymore would be better, you can mine Ethas or maybe Equihash coins with your RX 580 8Gb.
667  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: for 2X PSU are you doing paperclip method? on: February 17, 2018, 06:53:39 AM
3 month I have been doing it using a paperclip, The lack of this way is If our PSUs efficiency not so good the 12 V cable will not produce the right Voltage. So we need to create dummy load for 5V cable to make sure the PSUs produce the right Voltage. will better your using relay tool such as add2Psu.

some people said to use a paperclip on our PSU, we need to connect green cable and black one. in my case, all of my 24 pins has a black cable, which one I need to connect?
the green one is number 16 Pin, you can connect the green one to any ground Pin cable, 3,15,17 etc.for more clearly you can see the picture below:

668  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Asus RX 570 ROG-STRIX 4G GAMING capability? on: February 17, 2018, 06:19:25 AM
I have same variant and is in my most under performing rig compared to Sapphire version of RX 570. I downloaded all possible Bios files from anorach tech as modifying it with PBE wouldn't work strangely.
your ways to modification your GPU bios less precise. every card has a different bios version. if you're using downloaded 'mod bios' from somewhere that didn't use the original bios of your card.
it will make your system unstable and may damage your card. you can do standard mod bios using newest of PBE with one click, and the rest key is tune it with the right settings, will be safer.
669  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: for 2X PSU are you doing paperclip method? on: February 17, 2018, 05:02:02 AM
I am tired of looking around PSU with 6x or more gpu connector. There seems to be second PSU can easily be turned on using paperclip method. Is that how most miners do it?

670  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining hijack - worth it or not? on: February 16, 2018, 02:24:09 PM
Infect 100 servers with miner and get 10$ monthly for each, its 1000$ per month.

Have in mind that those kind operations can be huge and infections are done using automated scripts to search and install virus miners on 1000 of servers, i doubt its done manually one by one server.
I have server two Xeon 12 core 24 thread mining ETN in January, I get 30 ETN per day. I believe there have are many servers infected and someone or admin don't know.

the comment manji is true :

(but that fact don't influence hacker because he/she nothing to lose because a server, mobile phone not his)
yes, they (hacker) nothing to lose because their don't buy hardware, paying electricity, paying internet. they just sit and look at the balance in the wallet.

thank you sir, payment has arrived safely.
672  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is mining still worth it for the average person? on: February 16, 2018, 04:01:58 AM
A budget of $1000 is about 1 GPU probably a 1070 or 1070ti - with an old mobo/system or 1 GPU 1060 with a mobo, cpu etc. It would take you a while to mine a profit with 1 GPU. You'd want your own rig so that you can swap between algo/coins. You can def make a profit, but with that budget it would be a bit low.
1 GPU very difficult making a profit because profit mining related how much price electricity per kWh and every country are different. but mining can't get short time profit  (ROI) except have surprise such Hardfork 1:10 or price a coin rise when to convert BTC.

675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: leaving home with 5 gpu miners paranoid of fire safety on: February 15, 2018, 04:26:57 AM
sound nice, an option 4. you spend an additional budgeting for buying these parts, and maybe also the electricity bill increases because the AC keeps on alive.

in short a story, you go vacation and you always check the RIG on the web using a Mobile phone or Laptop in Airport, on Taxi, in a hotel or everywhere and every time you want. The atmosphere of 3 months of vacation becomes anxiety atmosphere. Although the holiday destination was for fun.

better choose option 5: You canceled the vacation
676  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU fans started failing, had to improvise a little on: February 15, 2018, 03:42:40 AM
the same case, I have Sapphire 290 triple fan. one fan is broken then I replace a fan using delta fan (12 inches, powered by 12 volts). has been running for 1 month so far so good.
677  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nvidia rig not recognizing cards help please on: February 14, 2018, 03:24:16 PM
Did you have tried reinstalling your Windows 10? If you stuck on that problem, you could try with fresh installation Windows on your rig.
678  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: time to switch from ETH to ETC ? on: February 14, 2018, 03:10:49 PM
If everyone (miners) think that profitable coins are the coin on the top in coin profitability web, it would be dropping the profitable of that coins itself.  Wink
679  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Power supply acting up on: February 14, 2018, 02:39:37 PM
However I have noticed the PSU is very hot at this point when it reboots on its own...

Please show to us your powering scheme, it must be something wrong with your scheme. Check your electricity voltage, may down voltage. Also, check your Physical PSU, make sure a fan working properly.
680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Need advice for the RX 470 cards mining on: February 14, 2018, 02:05:17 PM
You need to use the AMD blockchain drivers or the latest Adrenaline drivers and switch to Compute mode from Graphics mode in AMD settings. That will apply the AMD epoch Dag size fix and give you the hash rate you had before the Dag got over 2GB.

https://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/DH-024.aspx

From the workload tab, please confirm which one I have to choose for high performance since my hashes dropped almost 6 MH.

Dag Epoch effected to Polaris cards, so do this:

You could try to modifications your bios cards for the best Polaris cards performance. Polaris bios mod do by almost every miner. But if you are happy enough with stock bios, it's okay.

When the time initialize the awesome miner. Initially in the prompt page I find the message saying 4xx crimson polaris is recommended. Since I am newbie to the mining field. I am not sure what bios modification you are mentioning here. Please elaborate me bro.
this day, your 470 4 GB can reach almost around 27-29 MH/s on Ethash with modded bios. globally bios modification mean replace original conditions of your bios cards. we would change a few thing on it such as timing strap, voltage etc.

a simple way to do it :
1. you need to download Atiflash, Polaris bios editor, Pixel clock patcher (atikmdag patcher).

2. Save your original bios using Atiflash, duplicate it, one as your backup if something bad happened. and another one you would modification it on Polaris bios editor.

3. Open your Polaris Bios Editor (PBE), I suggest using Version 1.6.2 or above with one click modification (since you didn't have much experience on it).

4. Save your Modded bios and then flash it using Atiflash to your cards.

5.  Use atikmdag patcher for handling bios signature, So the system would recognize your device.
