661  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Too many mining site were closed?Halving is near what happen to the bitcoin? on: June 29, 2016, 07:16:52 PM
Stay away from mining at least until halving has taken place, even after the halving scammers will be online again with their bait waiting for fish to fall in their trap. You can not believe anymore in cloud mining as is not profitable now , so it will me more unprofitable after the halving. You can go solo mining though, altcoin is still profitable in some areas you just have to be knowledgeable what coin to mine.
662  Other / Archival / Re: Where you get Bitcoin ? on: June 29, 2016, 07:13:27 PM
I mostly buy bitcoin with FIAT which I save from daily work, but also do a bit of signature campaign, and a bit of faucets here and there. Thinking to go into trading but thats an unfamiliar environment for me so I am thinking twice before making this step as I don't want to lose my coins, I have bought them with FIAT most of my amount so losing it into trading is really some bad thing that will happen to me.
663  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Do Hashocean company will close on: June 29, 2016, 07:11:07 PM
If you use a VPN and Norton can they still hack into your computer or get into your appdata files?

Yes, even with a VPN (hiding your real identity on the net) you can get infected. The problem with these ransomware virus is:
Most likely they come in the form of a PDF, DOC, DOCX, XLS (Microsoft Windows data types). After opening these files you see a message: "macros disabled, please activate macros for fully seeing the document". After the activation of the macro, a tiny script is launched. I have encountered different ransomware, starting with a simple visual basic script, going over to a json (java) to a lua (lua worst case "language", because it can be used to infect nearly every system, most PC game cracks are programed in lua). The script is downloaded the "real virus". The download is most likely moved to c:\temp or %temp% (user temp folder) and starts to encrypt all your files. I repeat: ALL your files includeing wallets, personal photos, music, movies... After the encryption you have the possibility to pay about 2 BTC right now (price is very different, starting from 0.5BTC going up to over 3). If you dont pay, you will, in most cases, never get your files back encrypted.
These virus are (thats a new version) also getting put into flash videos, yes Adobe flash videos!!!

But please keep in mind that this is nearly a worst case szenario. But still, even with Norton (or general antivirus) and a VPN you can have an infected pc.

I am interested to know how the hacker for example can steal my coins when they don't know my number and I have google authenticator installed in mobile phone and not in my PC. Personally I think this is impossible as the hacker doesn't know my mobile number or the code in the google authenticator in my phone but maybe I learn something new today, lets see the in depth explanation of this.

First of all, i am no "hacker" or "white hat", but i have some experience.
The problem is your emailaddress. You can imagine your emailadress as your last wall of defense. If anybody is able to get into your emailaccount you used for facebook, okpay, poloniex,... he can simply use the "forgot password" on all the desired pages. Even if you say: Hey, i have secret questions, he can't guess them:  That's not true. With a bit google work and/or a bad facebook profile (everyone can see nearly everything) these questions can get solved.

So in our szenario the hacker has taken control of:
- Your emailadress you used for hashocean registration
- Your password you tryed to login on the phising site (for example hashocion.PHISHING), even if its not your master password, it's a password you used!!!
- The hacker/attacker might not be able to take control of all emailaccounts, but he will be able to hijack atleast a nice amount of the emailadresses
- Keep in mind that "forgot password" feature can be used on almost EVERY website!!!
- Worst case: your mobilenumber with active two factor authenticator. I am not 100% sure how this can be done, but it is possible to setup a "fake" google auth with your phonenumber so google auth thinks that this is rly your phone!

I hope this made the situation more clear about.
This "warning" isn't only for hashocean: If you want to login to a page, and you see: hm, normally it is PAGE.com and now its PAGE.io ======>>>>> DOUBLE/TRIPPLE/QUADDRO/PENTA check if this is just a different domain pointing to page.com or if this is a new, infected/phishing sate.

I also use 2FA on my email via SMS message, not all emails have this option but most of them has it. Also I never put my mobile number in any website so the hacker cannot make any changes or make Google Authenticator to behave in a strange way.
Forgot password cannot do anything as long as I have my email 2FA secured, as the hacker cannot access my email. Thats why I said waiting to learn something new, but if you always do your homework the hacker cannot really do anything, he is just a person like you and me. It depends who plays better in this "game".
664  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: XAPO Hot Wallet Service did turn into SCAM! BE AWARE ! on: June 29, 2016, 07:07:40 PM
Xapo is one of the biggest players in the space. There is no way they scammed you. You must have done something wrong.
End of story.

XAPO is an online wallet, anything can be wrong with an online wallet, they can run with your money any day they feel like it. The OP is saying has done all of the verifications and everything but apparently XAPO is being selective and locking accounts here and there, this is not the first thread against them so I would not trust them my hard earned bitcoin.
665  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HashOcean.com - Cloud Mining Service on: June 29, 2016, 07:04:51 PM
We will see if it comes back on as said. I hope I been scammed enough

Use common sense logic, if they were to come back online why did they need to go offline in the first place and don't believe the excuse that hacker hacked their domain, its the excuse of all of these scams. They said they would be back on 29 June and 29 June is almost passed in many countries so they scammed the people who were part of it another time and whats even worse is the most of them fell for it. Most of them believed they would be back online.
666  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Do Hashocean company will close on: June 28, 2016, 07:17:38 PM
I think for the most people it isn't clear what is happening right now. I also don't know if hashocean will come back or not, but we musst be prepared. Please read my following sentences, if you have any further questions or anything feel free to contact me or post on the topic here.

General warning informations:

- please be VERY CAREFULL on which sites you enter your emailaddress and passwords!!!! The page might look similiar, the Mailaddress and the street/postal code might also be correct
- PLEASE perform a whois-check before entering anything else!
- i DO NOT RECOMMENT to enter your emailaddress ANYWHERE, and it's a completely NOGO to enter your email and password (sometimes even phone number)
- On the "new" domains could be running a script. A script which isn't harmfull yet. It could download sth to your appdata/temp folder and encrypt your whole HDD/SSD or server/NAS/SAN -> check google for ransomware or "locky virus"

What could happen if you do so:
- With your emailaddress AND your password they can check these combination on poloniex, bter, bittrex, kraken, localbitcoins,... and check if they can login for STEALING !!!ALL!!! your coins.
So now you think: hm, even if they try i have 2 factor auth activated. And here is your phonenumber comeing into play: Your number will be used for creating new google auth codes and again STEALING all your coins

Sorry for my "big warning post", but i want to help/assist people without any knowledge about domains/servers etc.

667  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What do you think of Genesis Mining? on: June 28, 2016, 07:13:44 PM
Genesis Mining, they maybe legit until some point, the fact that in their contract they don't mention any approximate ROI time is a smart move from them to scam people. No one has ROI-ed so far there except a few shills saying good things about them. Cloud mining is not profitable anymore and its best to stay away.
668  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who next do you think gonna run away with people BTC on: June 28, 2016, 07:11:05 PM
Any website which tells you a beautiful fairy tale to be true. Any website that has no real pool data or has no videos posted that they are generally mining, pictures can be faked but with videos is a bit more difficult. I think bitsrapid and biteminer as they all look like bad copy cats of the Hashocean page.
669  Other / Off-topic / Re: Average Age of Bitcoin users on: June 28, 2016, 07:08:56 PM
Since bitcoin is the currency of the internet the most appropiate age should be 22-35 , I personally am part of this range as I think this is the generation who started out with windows 95 and now we are at Windows 10 so we have been through a lot and it means we are more prone to embrace bitcoin than other age generation.
670  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Eobot scam or legit?? on: June 27, 2016, 07:28:55 PM
There are a lot of other threads regarding eobot in this forum. We never know if they are ponzi or not , most of the people here think they are ponzi. And from what we have seen from history usually the people here are right when they smell ponzies.
If you still are unsure just read the below thread is comprehensive regarding eobot

671  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Anonymous Enough For You? on: June 27, 2016, 07:24:52 PM
For me is anonymous as I rarely use online wallets which can be tied to my email address and can find who I am although even this is difficult if I decide to use a fictive email address. When I use desktop wallet no one knows that a specific address is mine, and in Multibit classic you can create as many new addresses as  you like without anyone finding out to who these addresses belong. I use bitcoin for good reasons but there are a lot who are using it for evil intentions and rarely we have seen someone getting caught using bitcoin for illegal activities unless they have showed their dirty doings for the public of  dark net, you can be caught then.
672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Proof that bitcoin was NOT affected by the Brexit. on: June 27, 2016, 07:19:42 PM
Brexit did have a lot of impact  on financial markets like in the forex and commodities area also in the stock and shares which all tumbled after the british voted to leave Eurozone. But this has in no way any connection that bitcoin is affected by this decision. Price of bitcoin is stable these last 2 days after the Brexit vote so I cannot see any correlation between the two.
673  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHOCEAN ONLINE BITCOIN CLOUD MINING, IS IT GONE FOREVER? on: June 27, 2016, 07:15:04 PM
The net is flooding with  cursing messages saying the Hashocean.com is a scam. I have checked the website and its no longer there. Some claim that hashocean will be back and its just under maintenance due to attack by a chinese hacker.

What do you think guys will it still go back or no more?
yes i notice from social media and some site like cointelegraph,of course the member of hashocean start panic because the site cannot opened, and i will said it was hacker attack, take over the domain, feel sad for people who still believe in cloud mining after so many victims are frustate.
http://cointelegraph.com/news/major-bitcoin-miner-disappears-along-with-millions-of-dollars-worth-of-bitcoin

Cointelegraph has been promoting all kinds of shit lately and all kind of scams as long as they get some payment for them. You cannot really believe it was some hacker doing this, it was just Hashocean that run away with more than 3.5 million dollars as you can read from other threads in service discussion. I laughed a lot at a guy in the article who still has hopes to get his money back, really some persons never learn, its sad.
674  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Someone received a email from Hashocean about refund? on: June 27, 2016, 07:08:17 PM
What a shocker! Someone is trying to gain as much Bitcoin as he/she/they can by using a f*cked up website like that one which can be done in only few minutes. Any person who send money to the website can consider their money lost, will greed of you people ever stop, I read here someone thought to risk 0.5 Bitcoin which is stupid to the very core. Do not fall for these scams it appears many are trying to take profit through these websites now from people sorrow, greed and despair. You need to stay cool and don't send money to scammers like this.
675  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ▁ ▂ ▄ ▅ ▆ Cloudmining 101 (ponzi risk assessment) ▆ ▅ ▄ ▂ ▁ on: June 26, 2016, 07:22:49 PM
TOPMINE scammed along with HashOcean! They're all starting making the preparations for halving reward!  Grin

Wow , it looks like these ponzies are falling one after another , but don't be so happy , they will pop up with new names unfortunately and people will still believe them. Anyway it looks like the Topmine scammed way too early with only exactly 3 months and a bit, I think this is the fastest fallen ponzi of all so far. Lets pray that people have learned their lessons and don't invest anymore in cloud mining.
676  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HashOcean disapeared and scammed 700,000 users ? ! on: June 26, 2016, 07:18:53 PM
Come to BiteMiner, BiteMiner is fun, come right now, don't walk - run!

http://themerkle.com/biteminer-feels-like-a-revamped-hashocean/

They are the new scam , registered on february 24 of 2016, they can at least stay alive for another 3 months as most of these ponzi scams run for at least 6 months, remember that CLDmine thing. This company has all of its data protected not showing anything from this link here, that smells like scam.

677  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hashocean-More than 3mln USD made on: June 26, 2016, 07:14:23 PM
Without doubt this from the site of hashocean maybe they have members to site like totally they have 3 members and each of them got the same price like this so we will calculate 5700 x 3 so totally they got 17, 100 BTC what if they have more than 3 members so if we will convert it in USD, well thats WOW! A realy big income from the biggest ponzi sites ever in bitcoin.

Another Mt.gox you mean  Wink
Shame on the people who used the cloudmining websites and for the other who still using thoses kind of ponzi, time to quit it people!
Hope it will not affect the bitcoin price pfff...

I don't think bitcoin price will be affected by ponzi companies like this, we all knew sooner or later they would have quit business, they found the perfect opportunity and run away with 3 million dollars, thats just crazy and unbelievable. By the way whats their new website called as I am pretty confident they are already moving on with their new scam plan.
678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: June 26, 2016, 07:06:27 PM
What a great Moto GP race today , I am still thrilled from that race even now that several hours have passed, and its been 10 years since a private team had won a Moto GP grand prix since Tony Elias in 2006 with that photo finish against Valentino Rossi. A lot of so called big riders crashed today some were unlucky like Petrucci, this race had it all, a lot better compared to Formula 1 , I think Formula 1 needs to learn from these boys.
679  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Euro 2016 on: June 25, 2016, 07:41:29 PM
Come on Portugal!
You better win this one or the euro's are fixed too as well as Copa America Angry

Maybe Copa America is fixed, they are poor countries compared to the European countries so anything can happen there and no one from Europe is really worried what happened there. But this game is not fixed even if Portugal cannot win today and lose this game, Croatia has very good players in this team and this will be a difficult match, maybe it will end 0-0 and penalty kicks will decide the fate of this game.
680  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: As Global Currencies Plunge Over Brexit, Investors Turn to Bitcoin on: June 25, 2016, 07:38:28 PM
Nothing to turns our head on and being more enthusiast about it than we should. Of course its a great thing popular media talking about bitcoin, but honestly Brexit got nothing to do with bitcoin, and investors if they decide to turn to bitcoin which I am confident they will in the long run, will decide so because of the potential they see in it. Still a good publicity like this doesn't hurt at all Smiley .
