661  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: With this recent surge in BTC, is it possible to have all time high this year? on: August 15, 2020, 10:35:59 AM
Despite the pandemic and the current situation throughout the world, BTC keeps on surging upward in price. This might not be far from the upcoming halving happening in the next 13 days. If BTC can recover like this from $3800 and now trading above $9000, it is likely to speculate that we might have another all-time high this year?

Bitcoin is being traded over 11K for some times now. No one can exactly predict where the price would be heading to. The current lack of productivity would decrease the cash flow for many and the job losses and recession may make it hard to bring money into bitcoin. On the other hand, the brewing trade war could make the USD and other fiat a little less valuable as people move to regional currencies and crypto currencies. I'm overall bullish about bitcoin. An ATH is probable this year.
662  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Rise Due to Lower US Dollar? on: August 15, 2020, 06:34:16 AM
I don't see USD falling significantly in last few days against other fiats.  0.1-0.5% of changes are normal. The fall since last two days is lower than the rise in last Friday. It's normal forex market.
And Bitcoin has not only increased against dollar but also on all major currencies. For last 24 hours, bitcoin increased 1.75% for USD, 1.59% for GBP and 1.60% for euro.
What we can call is every fiat currency are falling and all of them are weakening against bitcoin.
663  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: August 15, 2020, 04:01:30 AM
That was really humiliating. Munich's players just seemed to be outperforming barca's in every field. They couldn't keep pace with the Munich's players. Barca is considered a good defense team but their defense seemed non existing. Barca failed to deliver a few chances but mostly it was Bayren trying to go into Barca's post. Bundesliga is much more fast paced than La Liga.
664  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coins and tokens with dividends on: August 14, 2020, 05:15:21 PM
There are different types of staking in crypto world. And some exchanges now makes it easier to get your stakes by holding the specific coins on the exchange.
Masternode coins like Dash needs VPS for properly staking.
Exchange coin like KCS provides dividend depended on the profit of Kucoin exchange.
Other services coin like NEXO provide profit depending on the profit of platform.
Binance and some other exchange provide user rewards for holding your coin on their wallets.
665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coinmarketcap's New Feature "Earn" on: August 14, 2020, 02:48:20 PM
I imagined that as soon as coinmarket was bought by binance they would implement many changes, but I did not imagine that in such a short time they would change many things which really shows that they have a lot of long-term vision and I think it is a good thing that they are doing because it will allow people to start trying to find out more about the projects they want to invest in

We see in practice how the investment made by Binance from the purchase of Coinmarketcap is processed. Such investments in novice traders are intended to attract them for permanent trading on the Binance exchange. And the first step to this is to create an account on the exchange.

Yeah but Binance is not a bad exchange to start with. Though exchange should never be recommended as wallets as they have an insanely high withdrawal fees. The fees on Binance are pretty decent and would be a useful exchange until it goes a scam or something. And I also like the way they are making people read about the projects, that would bring some technical knowledge about how modern coin works to a newbie.
666  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: August 14, 2020, 01:55:29 PM
I am still saddened by the defeat of Atalanta, now also sorry for the defeat of Atletico Madrid, my predictions always go against me 😅. tonight there Barcelona Bayern Munich, some simple bet? tough game I believe in a nice 1 + over2.5

Same thing I was thinking about, just seems too easy... Huh
I like how Bayern has been playing, just dont trust Messi, he can sure make a defense shaky.

it is a tough game with both teams full of strong players, Messi is an alien and he is not afraid of any defense, so I think it is a game with at least 3 goals, I bet on winning barcelona because I think it is the most fit team

Bayren Munich have a had great wining streak now and they seems to be a fit team but barcelona is much better on defense. If they be able to hold some players like Lewandowski, they might have a better chance of wining. Suarez and Messi would surely not miss a chance to score. Bayren would be more attacking while Barcelona would defend creating some counter strikes. If Barcelona be able to stop Bayren forward, it's their game.
667  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / BTC and ETH on their 2 years high on: August 14, 2020, 02:38:53 AM
Bitcoin is steadily increasing over time, quietly reaching 11.8K today, highest price for last two years. Ethereum's rise is much sudden and higher against BTC, it's traded at upto $430+ today, it's highest for last two years. Where do you see the market heading? would there still be bullish ride or there ought to be an immediate correction?
668  Other / Off-topic / Can't remove dontbeevils(dot)de malware by crypto-webminer on: August 13, 2020, 01:59:14 PM
I seem to have been infected by a malware that try to access dontbeevils(dot)de. I get constant notifications from my antivirus that dontbeevils(dot)de is blocked from accessing the internet. I don't know how I got infected as I'm very careful about what I browse and download. I accessed the site dontbeevils(dot)de on sandobx and found it sells bitcoin and crypto related domains and is from crypto-webminer.com. The problem is I and my antivirus can't get rid of it. It's active even when there's no app or browser open.
669  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should we promote acceptance of "zero-conf transactions"? on: August 13, 2020, 11:54:07 AM
Even if we get used to it, it would be procrastinating our problems rather than solving it. It could turn into a growing trouble. I'd rather use bitcoin as it is than to use it for paying my taxi or coffee. There are things like lightning project that are trying to achieve the same though freezing some coins and issuing equivalent digital tokens. Other wrapped bitcoin solutions are also getting popular which are a better take to that solution.
670  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is This Site Legit? on: August 13, 2020, 11:41:46 AM
As you said that are the ratings depending on their own metrics but for such affiliate sites, the affiliate bonus percentage is the prime factor for the ratings. They'd bring up any gambling site with larger referral percentage while may omit the good ones that don't provide affiliate promotions.
I look these sites for occasional promotions but don't depend on them to find which sites are good or bad.
671  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is bitcoin so unstable? on: August 13, 2020, 11:12:39 AM
Gold is another store of value, but not that unstable. It reached 2000$ recently and was above 1000$ for many years. Those who invested in gold back in 1900 would have made a great choice since it costed only 20$ back then if I'm not wrong. (Although dollar was way more strong than now)

Bitcoin can lose 500$ within one night. Gold can't. Why that?

For $500, it's also about how much gold you are talking about. There's no exact measure of what amount of gold is to be compared with 1 bitcoin.

If we were to talk about the percentage change, we have seen plenty of days with more than 5% of change in price for gold. In 11th August it dropped by 5%.
Another reason for sharper changes on bitcoin price could be due to it's 24/7 trading time while gold are trader for less than 12 hours a day.

672  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: August 12, 2020, 02:09:13 PM
As we have been seeing most perform well at the start of the year but they fade away at the end and some perform poor at the start and come good at the back end of the year like we saw with Medvedev last year. We can see the talent they all have, they just need to be able to win against the top three in grand slam finals. Like I said anyone can go back and see that I'm a big fan of Thiem, I've even had several bets on him to win the French Open for the last 2 years before it started because I believe he will be the next great clay court player once Nadal retires.

agree for Thiem, think that he will be great on clay, and he would be now, if there is no Nadal, what is the issue there is that Thiem is also not getting any younger, and he is not a talent anymore, in his age Nadal was already crowned "clay king"
regarding Medvedev and other players, IMO, Nadal, Federer and Djokovic are not that great, it is more that competition is really bad, so these three shine out, just look at some side-players that hanged out in top 10 for several years, without being called great, for example Berdych, Tsonga, Del-Porto, would you call them great as well, and some of them even managed to win grand-slams when top 3 where at their best

I'd not say tennis has became less competitive. There are still much newer talents coming every year. Tennis was for some times dominated by a single player but at the moment, it's not that. Though the game has became more technical and players are receiving coaching and training according to their opponents. All three of them Federer, Djokovic and Nadal has been improving their games with every passing year.
673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So every dead project that adding "DeFi" to its name, pumping 100000% ? on: August 12, 2020, 01:00:30 PM
yes it is,,, and this is a big bubble that will burst, if not today then tomorrow for sure. Interest does not grow on trees,,, it has to come from somewhere and when enough people lose money and liquidate capital, this thing will fall.
Good that you point this out but I'm not ready to wait around and let this happens without me not taking my own advantage, we all know that good things don't last forever but it's fun riding along, isn't it? I prefer to buy some DeFi tokens and make profits while it lasts.

DeFi are of course the future of crypto but the current hype is a bubble that's going to burst soon. I hope the burst would not be counter inutiative to the overall development and adoption of DeFi. Cross platform DeFi solutions would certainly change the face of crypto sphere. But our investment on such should be calculated rather than jumping in the herd.
674  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where to invest BTC other than in casino bankrolls? on: August 11, 2020, 05:11:42 AM
I've just move a large portion of my BTC in casino bankroll to my binance account. I was getting an average of 14% per year on my bitcoin investment but realized I could easily make that amount with passive trading and arguably with lesser risks. There still remains the risk of the exchange going a scam but binance has became so large that it going a scam would be unimaginable thing at the moment.
675  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitTorrent client and bitcoin blockchain submission idea! on: August 11, 2020, 04:37:52 AM
Bittorrent has already implemented incentive for seeders with BTT coin if the content up-loader are paying for it. And optional donation this way for content up-loader from the leechers could easily be implemented. Bitcoin would have been a good coin but the problem with bitcoin is micropayment is no feasible at the moment and centralizing the donation system would add up resources. BTT is a good coin for micro donations and rewarding.
676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: August 10, 2020, 06:57:52 PM
A good news for IPL fans BCCI received approval from Indian government for conduct IPL in UAE now search for sponsor is going on https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/id/29632558/bcci-gets-government-go-ahead-conduct-tournament-uae

BCCI is hoping anything above 300 crore for the sponsorship and many companies have came forwarded with the proposal. The mostly likely of them would be the highest bidder among Baiju, Coca Cola India and Amazon. Even Patanjali is on the run for bid. The only question is how close would be the final bid to the VIVO's schedule sponsorship of 440 crores.
677  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum's supply cannot be verified on: August 10, 2020, 03:43:32 PM
currently on coinmarketcap, the total supply of Ethereum is only a few different, on coinmarketcap 112,123,103 and on etherscan 112,123,177.59,
of course my benchmark is still at Etherscan, the total supply of Ethereum cannot be verified due to inflation,
my question, what is shown in etherscan about the "total supply" is the circulating supply? If there is a total supply, why doesn't Coinmarketcap show it?

As the supply is ever increasing, they need to map every new blocks to find the new supply of the coin. And I think every of the tracker would not track for the coins everytime but do so on scheduled time to limit resources. The difference in supply might be due to the difference in their last update time. With ETH 2.0, things might get more predictable.
678  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Voters’ Data on Sale After Blockchain Poll on: August 09, 2020, 12:31:27 AM
Electronic voting is pretty risky,it doesn't matter if it's conducted in Russia or the US.
It doesn't matter if it's based on the blockchain technology or some centralized technology.
Such voting systems can get hacked and manipulated.
Unfortunately the good old paper ballots are the still the safest way to vote(if the voting administration is out of the direct control of the government so the elections are fair).

The technology is still in the early phase and they just hurried it up to show something new to it's voters, afterall many things are going to be same it was for some time. A government built technology is often of low cost and quality and probably didn't wen through any penetration testing. But as they learn form the mistakes and keeps patching the holes, electronic voting system based on blockchain would be a norm within two decades.
679  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Google Advertises Uniswap Phishing Scams on: August 08, 2020, 04:41:28 PM
I do not think google is to be held accountable for the content it currently hosts as it is only a platform that people levergae on. The content on google servers are put in by people and not by google so google is not to be blamed for the shortcomings. but people should be aware of what they are about to get involved in and get remedy as to that effect.

Yes google is just a marketplace. But they need to have a swift system to respond to any scam on their platform. Though they have a report option on search ads, ads and youtube videos but they never quickly respond to the report. Scam youtube video pretending to be a live giveaway by popular person or company runs for hours and sometimes days before being pulled of due to reports.
680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Chainlink destined for New Highs in 2020? on: August 08, 2020, 04:24:58 PM
already crossed $10 USD mark and expected to cross $20 USD till end of 2020
source: https://cryptocurrencypriceprediction.com/chainlink-price-prediction-2020-link-coin-forecast-till-5-usd/

It’s possible considering that DeFi hype will not gonna exhaust this year. Your source is possibly using fibonacci and elliot wave indicator that’s he come up to that price list. Chainlink is the leading DeFi project so that means that it is the most beneficial on this current DeFi hype. The explanation OP about the growth of LINK was very accurate. It’s good thing that I onboard on this project before it start to get upward phase.

Chainlink seems unstoppable. It has broke into the top 10 coins by marketcap and is on number 7 spot. It's total valuation even larger than Litecoin, Cardano or EOS. Don't know where this Defi craze would be taking us but interblockchain connectivity is still a new field to be conquered. We could expect a correction soon as the development and adoption is not going to boost as quick the price boosted.
