661  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Popularity Soars in Argentina Due to Mass Inflation on: September 27, 2020, 04:13:43 AM
The Argentinian peso is going down, because of the inflation but I don't think it would massively push people into Bitcoin.

It might be true that there are people that is putting their money into Bitcoin but I think it is just enough to prove that they look at it to be a great way to save themselves from inflation. I think we should see some great changes in the price of Bitcoin if its popularity is actually soaring in the country.
662  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen if you invested a $1 in Bitcoin every day for 5 years on: September 27, 2020, 03:07:41 AM
It looks great but I think that is a bad strategy.

Since that would be daily transactions, most of that investment is going to the fees instead of investing $365 or $366 straight. Another thing is that with the price change in those years, I think it is better if you could invest as fast as you can as the price is not that high. Considering the price changes in the years, it is better if you could invest early. Also, you could take advantage of the price changes that will happen within those years so you can maximize the profits you will be getting.
663  Economy / Economics / Re: Why criminals prefer cash (Fiat) on top of crypto? on: September 27, 2020, 01:37:17 AM
I am not a criminal but I guess the reason is liquidity.

It is true that cryptocurrency is safer to use than any fiat right now since we will be able to avoid direct contacts but since we are talking about crimes, it doesn't matter. With their places limited to spend money right now and with Bitcoin's acceptability here in our country, I would still use fiat. Just imagine you buying drugs and offering criminals Bitcoin which they don't know or even see its value.
664  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people claim cryptocurrencies aren’t an asset? on: September 27, 2020, 12:36:47 AM
It isn't going to happen overnight, it sure will be a tough battle, but I see it as a sensible way forward. Is cryptocurrency legal in your country? What are your thoughts?

It is legal in our country.

Despite that, people aren't that stuck on using Bitcoin or even have an idea of accepting it but when they are given the idea that many people actually earned a lot of profit in this cryptocurrency, they can change their mind. There are also many people thinking that it is a scam but I usually say that it is a volatile cryptocurrency, an intangible asset where they could earn profit through time.
665  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Problem Gambling in the wake of covid-19 on: September 26, 2020, 11:59:57 AM
Self-control is vital in gambling else as you said it is easy to be addicted to it and not only will lose money , but also will have bad relationship and will have health issues etch. So it is said never gamble just to make money else you will keep chasing those money forever at times without realizing at some day you are addicted and cannot stay without it.

So true.

I am not addicted to gambling but I did some esports betting while I am in quarantine. That also made me think of doing some roulettes and poker but to keep myself in control, I downloaded some mobile games which is also gambling without using my money. It is fun and I am only spending my time in these games instead of spending both my time and my money in it.
666  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do think about skill games? on: September 26, 2020, 10:27:27 AM
<...>

I would love to bet on skill based games like 8-ball pool, clash Royale, PUBG, Carrom etc. I usually play such kind of games a lot but since no betting option available for such games, it's just for killing some time. It will be great if we can also bet on our own abilities!
I think it'd be fun betting on our own abilities. It comes with analysis. I mean, if you win, great. You'll just have to keep it up. But if you lose, you'll also be able to determine what to improve the next time you play. I personally love to watch skill based games. And I think it would also be interesting to watch slots relying on skills and not luck alone.

I agree, it is so fun.

I usually do some bettings on esports and NBA right now which is fun since you are not just watching the game because it is the playoffs but because you are supporting a team and you have a bet on them so that adds up a spice there. You could see how they play and that gives you information on what you expect the next game.
667  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which type of trading you think is good? on: September 26, 2020, 09:30:42 AM
I think the combination of the two is good but TA is also better.

At first I thought that if there is this positive event about Bitcoin or cryptocurrency as a whole, it would affect the price but it is not always the case, I am also doing that because I am not that experienced with trading at all. Then I started to study about the trends and make an adjustments based on that but there is still those risks since you can't actually avoid a risk since no one can perfectly predict the future.
668  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why people run away from trading!!! on: September 26, 2020, 07:36:39 AM
People not only run away from trading but they also run away from crypto. Because they loss so much. The main reason for this is the crypto currency exchanges. Even the top crypto exchanges are so greedy like binance. They keep listing new coin without proper invitations and create pump and dump. And trader lost their whole fund. This kind of activities giving negative impact on whole crypto market.
I totally disagree if you mean that exchanges like Binance manipulate market prices,
If a trader gets a loss, it is most likely due to the fault of a trader who does not understand trading such as risk management, exchanges like Binance have high and reliable liquidity, so it is impossible for Binance to cheat or manipulate prices.

Reading this I remembered a thread about this but not manipulating the price.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5123236.0

It is said that some exchanges are making some "market strategies" to fool traders that they had a huge volume. Obviously it is a way for them to be noticed since with a lot of exchanges, it is rough to compete. I guess with this people experience losses that could make their interest in trading go down. That is the reason why we should just trade on trusted ones and be careful with the new ones or the unpopular ones.
669  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and tax in your countries on: September 26, 2020, 05:37:37 AM
in my country bitcoin is not  tax, the exchange of bitcoin for paper money is not  tax, maybe in the future it will change because more and more people use bitcoin as a medium of exchange, maybe the government will make a decision to tax but that's not necessarily correct.

I think it is on the exchanges.

Since Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are not that popular in most of the countries, exchanges are the ones that gain most profit in the transactions happening when it comes to converting crypto to fiat. Maybe they have this tax for these kinds of exchanges where the currencies they are using can't be taxes like virtual currencies in games.
670  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for salary on: September 26, 2020, 04:44:47 AM
Legality of paying btc to your employees or anybody you want to, depends on the country you live in and the state of crypto there. To be very honest, there is nothing that can stop you from paying BTC to your workers, but you need their consent that they are interested in getting paid with BTC. You get paid in BTC, your campaign pays you after calculating your total payment in USD and then convert it to BTC based on its value at that time. I get paid the same way. So what's the problem?

Actually it is very difficult to implement this in a company. First not everyone will have know how about bitcoins and secondly the crypto currency must be legal in the country where this system needs to be implemented. Also you know that taxes are calculated and deducted on salary, companies pays taxes also, all of this needs to be incorporated into the system also.

Well, this depends on the time and company we are talking about. If this is implemented, that just means that bitcoin is not just the crypto currency we know right now, it is been a popular alternative to fiat in this world. That means it is legal and almost all of the people in this world know it is. That also means that income taxes, regulation and the system is not a problem.

I think this also depends on the government.

Upon knowing about this, I don't think the government will just let this slip by. They will find a way to regulate this kind of payments and they will make laws all about it. If that is also the case, I think that a lot of people are actually using it that it is an alternative to fiat hence it might already be accepted or regulated by the government. I think that future is still quite far from now.
671  Economy / Economics / Re: IMPACTS OF ROBOTICS ON WORLD ECONOMY on: September 26, 2020, 02:44:36 AM
The use of robotics in the business world can benefit business owners, because it can reduce employees and this can reduce
the burden on the company to pay employee salaries. But on the other hand it can increase unemployment, even though robotics
can do jobs that humans do, but not all sectors can be done by robotics. So in fact, the existence of robotics forces humans to be
more creative and work hard, so that they are not replaced by robotics. In other words, robotics forces improve the quality of human
resources, of course this has a good impact on the economy.

There will be an adjustment to education too if that happens.

Since manufacturers might be focussing more on getting AIs or robots in the future, education will be shifted into something that would adapt to these changes. Maybe they would let people handle things that couldn't be handled by robots like medical cares and stuff that needs the warmth, the intelligence and knowledge of a human being.
672  Economy / Economics / Re: Can legalisation of Cannabis help US economy? on: September 26, 2020, 01:31:44 AM
Doesn't mean it will be legalized means all of the people could use it.

Obviously there will be a limitation to the people who are using it. They could just let them use these drugs in medication, just to treat those people who really needed it. They will not be legalizing this if they will not be thinking of the obviouse consequences that would happen in the future.

A lot of people, especially those who are suffering from cancer and other serious ailments would like to use cannabis oil (Cannabidiol). There is a widespread belief that it is very effective and it has less side effects. Also a lot of people say that Cannabidiol is not as addictive as some of the synthetic Opioids. Actually, if Cannabidiol is legalized then it can prevent tens thousands of deaths. Last year, around 50,000 people died in the United States as a result of overdose from synthetic opioids.

Does that mean that they can't actually use cannabis?

I mean they couldn't use cannabis even if it is for medical purposes? Isn't that bad since there are a lot of people that needed cannabis and without that they would be exposed to other things that could affect their health just like you said about the overdosing to synthetic opioids? I thought people could use cannabis despite the ban of it as long as it is for medical purposes.
673  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: September 26, 2020, 12:34:51 AM
Very well, Rondo has great performance in their last two winnings, his classic fake pass was still there and can still confuse the defense of their opponent. He will be a great factor in this series, even in the NBA finals if indeed Lakers will break the curse on the opposite team of Denver who came back from 3-1 disadvantage.

We are just talking about Rondo and Howard but how about McGee? He's been in the bench for so long in this series and I think he could contribute in the team with his under the basket offense. With a lot of great players in their roster, I guess they are having short period in the court. Is Javale Macgee injured? He just played for five minutes in the last game.

AFAIK, he is not injured.

I've been wondering that for some time now and they are not using McGee the deeper they get from the playoffs. I guess you could read this article since they already explained it well why they chose Howard than McGee.

674  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do think about skill games? on: September 25, 2020, 12:15:50 PM
you should have fast instincts on whats in front of you to precisely do this strategy. however, skill games has better chance of winning if you know your game. because if we're talking about luck-based games, you dont have to think on this game, just go with the flow and hoping that luck will strike you. so dont expect also that you are on the winning side on this one.

It is also the same with skill-based some times.

When we used to bet on a team, for example a NBA team, if they have a great record or a great run in a series, they have a high chance of winning in the next games that just means they percentage is high to win which we would be betting on them. Though sometimes, the lower percentage happens and we have no control to that. Don't forget that we are still gambling, it may be skill-based or luck-based, we are still gambling.
675  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: September 25, 2020, 10:58:27 AM
I'm a little bit confident the Lakers will close out this series, specially If the Celtics will survive in game 5.

I hope we could see a game 7 in the ECF.

I know Miami Heat would end this early but I think Boston Celtics could do better. But still, I like the finals to be a LAL vs MIA game. I want to see how would LAL would react to a great team with great defense and a young roster like them.
676  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin price are decreasing? on: September 25, 2020, 10:09:19 AM
I am thinking why Bitcoin price are going down? Is Bitcoin Bull run is finished? I want to buy Bitcoin, so is it the right time to buy Bitcoin or I will wait for a while.
This dump in the bitcoin price is temporary and the bitcoin will rise again soon. We just not need to panic on 1000$ dump or get excited on $1000 Pump. Rather we should invest in crypto for long term duration. If you buy bitcoin for long term. you will never face a loss.

So true but let's be wary in the long run.

It is true that in a long time frame, Bitcoin's price did not disappoint us and kept on giving us great price that would give us good profits. But let's be careful since doesn't mean you hold for a long run means you will not have any losses, you should also be wary when you should sell some and when you will buy some again. Knowledge and timing is also important.
677  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What the future holds for bitcoin on: September 25, 2020, 08:58:43 AM
For now accumulating wealth is still a bit unreliable.

The price is still unpredictable and unless you are not that kind of person that would dump your Bitcoin after a huge downfall, you could just hold it. I am not saying that it is bad but right now it is unreliable since there are better assets right now that could give you reliable profits in time. I am holding Bitcoin but I don't hold all of my savings to Bitcoin.
678  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for salary on: September 25, 2020, 08:04:35 AM
I think the government will interfere with that due to the tax matter. Also I think it would be unfair for the employee if they receive a bitcoin then the price drops because of the volatility of the market also it depends on the country whether the cryptocurrency is legal on a certain country.

I think that should be a choice of that employee.

The fact that the employee are accepting Bitcoin means they know what it is and how volatile it is. Obviously that would raise some brows since that could be really unfair to people that is why companies, if they ever think or thought of paying their people with Bitcoin, they should let them choose whether they will accept Bitcoin or fiat.
679  Economy / Economics / Re: IMPACTS OF ROBOTICS ON WORLD ECONOMY on: September 25, 2020, 07:52:41 AM
I figure it will affect awful on our economy.

Individuals will become jobless if each organization starts employing the robot they don't have to pay compensations to robots so they'll replace humans with robots.
The second terrible thing is peoples will become sluggish by giving their work to robots.

Robots or machines will definitely replace most employers in the future because they are faster and more productive, and business owners don't need to pay these robots' salaries. That is why jobless people will increase their numbers in the future. It is the reason why only computer programmers and developers will exclusively remain if that happens because they are the ones who create and program robots to function.

I guess this depends on the job, right?

Most of those people in the producing industry would definitely make or find an AI to cut their budgets and make their manufacturing faster, cheaper and efficient. As you said, that would just mean that people in these places would just be in maintenance or maybe engineers that would monitor these. I guess this will also depend on the country.
680  Economy / Economics / Re: Can legalisation of Cannabis help US economy? on: September 25, 2020, 06:18:05 AM
Of course! It will be good in the sense that this business from the shadow and criminal business became an ordinary business (sorry for the tautology), and also related to medicine.

Thats will be the main problem when that time comes. Criminal activities will increase as this drug can be used anytime, as guns are so normal to own in US, it will be a good pair in my opinion.
