661  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why sports betting? on: December 04, 2023, 05:29:23 AM
The sole reason for being involved in sports betting is to make money but there are a lot of hurdles you must encounter before making the money and that's if luck shines on you but if it doesn't those hurdles will kill you unless you decide to quit. Truth is bitter but it must be said, that gambling benefits only 5% of the people who engage in it.
Does stating gambling means overall gambling including sports betting?

5% is quite low but could be possible since gambling sites are ripping lots of money from us, but if you are gambling and you are optimistic you can win in the long run, at least that 5% is enough to convince you that nothing is impossible in gambling, i mean you can make money in gambling.

It's a challenging task but it's doable, I'd bet on that.

More persons are into sports betting because they easily interface with those sports and it is better and safer to bet on sports you know even though it doesn't guarantee winning it makes you to keep shouting every day "cut one, dying minute, I go soon win, Liverpool cut me, Salah no fit score etc"

Regardless of what gambling types you're playing, winning is not guaranteed, only desperate fools would believe there's such thing as guaranteed, and even if some games are rig, it could not guarantee us a win as things could turn not on our expectation. This is the beauty of gambling, particularly sports betting, it's totally unpredictable.
662  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Correction is possible in bitcoin price? After 40,000$ on: December 03, 2023, 09:50:32 PM
Bitcoin prices have been on the rise for the past two to three weeks, with no significant correction observed during this period. Currently, the bitcoin price hovers around $39,300. The surge in bitcoin prices can be attributed to the news of ETF approval circulating in the market.

However, what is your opinion? Do you anticipate a potential drop in the bitcoin price, revisiting $30,000 after reaching $40,000, or do you believe it will continue its upward trajectory towards $50,000?
I'm optimistic to see a consistent price increase in the market, but it does not lost the fact that this volatile market is not free from any market correction or price decline for bitcoin. That's why I'm also open that this current price will suddenly drop again but I don't think it will drop below $30k again, most probably it will only range between $30k to $33k and then it might recover after couple of days.

However, we don't really hold the future for bitcoin. But one thing is certain, bitcoin will not frustrate us of its price most especially that we are looking forward for big events by early next year.
663  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Combination of the young age correlated with Bitcoin for the future on: December 03, 2023, 09:11:20 PM
It depends — what does he mean by "in order to live his life"? Because 4 BTC is actually a good amount of money.

If it's for education, then sure as long as he has thought it out. Or if it's for some other purpose that'll be worth it in the end.
If it's for partying and/or dating, then uh.. probably not. Probably just sell a very small amount? You don't need to sell everything.

Work-life balance is always the key; it's not one or the other.
Selling would not be a bad idea though if he'll do it with a purpose, to buy a new project or to enter into another profitable and secured investment. He can sell one or two of his bitcoins to cater the amount he needs. But if his purpose is for only leisure and fun, think twice if you really want to sell. When you sell, that means you will lost the opportunity to make future profits.

However, selling just a small portion is fine if he wants to live his life at the moment. Of course, it's still a good feeling if you have time to reward yourself after a long effort from long term hodling.
664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why sports betting? on: December 03, 2023, 02:18:14 PM
Sports betting is a unique activity where your knowledge can change the odds. Sports betting uses insights, unlike casino games, which are random.
I find it not unique since it's the most popular type of gambling IMO. About your knowledge, it could increase your chances of winning but as to the odds... are you referring to odds set by bookmakers? If so, I think we see the odds as the same regardless on how we analyze it, and with a huge market available, it's always up to us on how to choose the odds that could result to a win.

Does this knowledge genuinely alter our risk perception? Many overestimate their understanding, leading to overconfidence. Sports are unpredictable, so even the best bet can lose. Let's examine your financial point. The idea of 'having funds to accomplish anything' is attractive yet perilous. Disposable money and needed funds must be distinguished. If betting becomes 'how much can I afford to lose?' it can be harmful.
We all know that, it doesn't need to be repeated from time to time. As a responsible gamble, we understand the risk very well.

Remember that gambling is fun, not a financial strategy. Could the real skill be self-control and financial discipline as well as game knowledge? Excitement and responsibility may be the winning combination!

It could be fun and financial strategy at the same time, at least for me. Since we are discussing about sports betting here, it's quite different than other casinos where house edge are gonna rip us in the edge, in sports betting, we can take that away with our skills to analyze in choosing the winner.
665  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Ryan Garcia vs Oscar Duarte (December 2) on: December 03, 2023, 01:16:12 PM

Garcia did the job but for me that wasn't impressive, he was caught with that left hook of Duarte a couple of times, luckily it was not so lethal that he still stood despite all of that.

Yeah, if he were to face a champion or even a fighter with a good rank, he would probably suffer another knockout. It appears that he was truly exposed, not the same guy as when he lost to Tank Davis. I wouldn't be surprised if his camp finds it challenging to secure a championship match due to his recent performance.

I guess he's done for this year; we can't expect to see him in another fight. Hopefully, next year, even in the second half, we will witness him in a championship match again. While Tank Davis is enjoying his champion status as one of the best now, Ryan Garcia is in the process of rebuilding his career, climbing the ladder once more. I now understand why boxers with undefeated records may be hesitant to risk fighting against a champion who has a real chance of beating them.

Speaking of upcoming games, I also like to share some bets to bettors here.
Warriors vs LAC rematch, this time in LA. I have the Warriors here +4.5 and to win SU.  Smiley

I got a W here, it was fun and easy, thinking that Warriors would also win the game as they had a very comfortable lead. However, like we witness in the past, their opponents could comeback against them despite being down big time because of their lack of size and defense, and the Clippers were able to do that with a one point win, courtesy of PG13 step back 3 point shot.

Anyway, I still win with the handicap, but no games tomorrow, so let's take a break for a while.
667  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Bitcoin investment is the key to success" on: December 02, 2023, 09:56:46 PM
There's no left for regretting as you did not sell without its purpose, and  since you decide to sell your bitcoin early, then you have now your own laptop without any hussle. Still, that is a big blessing that you have obtained from bitcoin, enough to be thankful for it instead of feeling depressed because you fail to maximize your profits. Bitcoin investment is not all the time for long term, most especially if you face sudden emergency cases that only selling bitcoin would make the best solution.

You see, there's actually nothing to regret. But work on your funds first so you can invest before the bitcoin halving. That way, you can still ride the bullish season where everyone else celebrates with their huge profits.
668  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New here and wants to make some money on: December 02, 2023, 09:22:37 PM
Hello everyone,

I'm totally new and I don't have a steady source of income so I'm looking for some help, nice to meet you all 😊
Find a stable job first outside crypto. This forum does not provide a steady source of income, but a consistent flow of legit information and valid experiences rather. And to make it clear to you, investing and trading do not guarantee stable and steady source of income. Yes, you can make decent profits from them at some point but you will experience more losses than wins, most especially if you are still in the learning process.

However, if you're looking for a good side hustle, then this forum will be a lot helpful to you. You can join in a signature campaign, invest or trade, but all of these require experience. So start learning the forum first to increase your knowledge and learn from other members experiences. But make sure to never rely in the forum for consistent profits because that will only frustrate you later on.
669  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do You Use Crypto Signals? on: December 02, 2023, 08:58:48 PM
I don't have issues with crypto signals. Some are actually benefiting from them. But since I trade on my own and does not rely from other traders to trade, so using crypto signals from other people are not my thing. Yes, I have read some of them but let's say I'm not totally convinced on their signals so I end up using my own developed signals based on how I analyze the market as well as with the coins  I am going to trade.

I think it's actually an individual's choice to use it or not. But I suggest if you have better analysis on trading signals, then trust on your own signals because to be a good and successful trader, one should be more capable to trade on their own based on how they understand trading  and the market itself.
670  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 02, 2023, 02:10:24 PM
We have part 2 of Wizards vs Magic, I'm guessing it'll have the same result, so i'm talking Magic -11 hoping they'll cover and their hot streak to continue.

Aside from that game, I'm also leaning on the following teams with point spreads.

1) Philadelphia  +6.5 and  a little touch on ML
2) Dallas at Memphis over 226
3) Spurs at Pelicans over 237
4) Denver at Phoenix under 224

Good luck everyone!

I got the Magic ML and took Dallas live to win, but I'm an idiot and didn't look to see that Luka is out tonight so my bet is probably a loser. Currently Dallas is down 14 ugh.

Good luck with your bets.

Won on Magic but you lose on Dallas.

Luka didn't play on that game but it was suppose to be a winnable game by Dallas since they are at home hosting a struggling less-Morant Memphis. This was unexpected as not only Dallas loss, but they loss like they don't have inspiration to play hard. 108-94, tough loss.

@freedomgo, sorry but seems like you had a tough day. Most of your picks didn't go your way, you only hit one which was Philly +6.5.

Anyway, these are just normal day on the office for us bettors, so let's focus on bouncing back on the upcoming games.

671  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 02, 2023, 01:42:06 PM
They already made a mistake for having Westbrook since they don't have chemistry with their team so its good if Lakers would focus to create good chemistry and confidence with their current roster.

That was the biggest decision that didn't went out well, they were suppose to make a big 3 but one has became a burden, good thing they let him go after 2 season I believe, so both teams in LA are happy now. The lakers are still revolving without Lebron, and old superstar that will continue to make history, but in terms of ranking as a championship team, that I don't know if they are even at the top 3 now.

With the present status of the Lakers, I don't expect them to even reach the same success last season, but I still have some hope since the playoffs is a different atmosphere, and you know, experience gives good advantage and Lebron and AD had that.

I don't think that they are a top 3 team in the West, they are inconsistent that there are games that they look championship caliber and then the next game, they can't even score and we can see Lebron's frustration as if he wanted to be traded on other teams or doesn't want to play with Lakers.

This team is really unpredictable, however, just like last season, they entered the playoffs not on the top spot, they are even the underdog on each rounds before they got eliminated, so this team is still very dangerous if you'll ask me.

Lebron's favorite time are the playoffs moments, they excel on that with Davis, so as long as they'll qualify the playoffs, consider them as a threat and has the potential to win a championship.

However, there could be some good news that Vando and Rui will be back in the roster. They've missed both fo this 2, specially Vando's defense and then Rui has a great time playing for the Lakers.

These guys are good defensively, the Lakers really needed them, being back gives more boost on the Lakers defense, so can we expect them to turn themselves from inconsistent to consistent now? Smiley
672  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Only Sell what you don't need. on: December 01, 2023, 09:58:29 PM
Selling your property is like losing your own advantage to your own property, which means you are not capable anymore to enjoy its future profits since you are already selling it for a cause. And for me, that is not an ideal strategy. It's still best to work on it to achieve or acquire a new investment, not selling your previous property and trade for a new one.

However, that is only from my own point of view. We all have different concepts about selling properties, and for me thats not my nature of doing.
673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should altcoins be blamed? on: December 01, 2023, 08:59:22 PM
It's not bitcoin or altcoins that should take the blame, but the kind of investor who decides to take the risk from investing in crypto. If you lose on them, simply because you don't have the qualities that suit for a good and reputable investor. And not that you blame altcoins for your losses and made people hate bitcoin in general.

However, if you are being hacked or scammed, still the blame should not only for those criminals but also you need to take charge of the responsibility you have by doing initial research first before you jump into a conclusion of investing into altcoins or any project that is making too good to be true promises.
674  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who says you can't be a millionaire in sports betting? on: December 01, 2023, 07:38:12 AM

What can you say about this? Are you willing to risk your $18 to win $18k, or a million in PHP pesos?

I am willing to bet but I have to accept the fact that I will have to be extremely lucky to win that huge amount because it's not easy winning a small bet to win that huge amount, even if you're good at sports betting you still need the luck to do that, many sports bettors are risk takers because they also believe in luck and extreme luck, while you may be good in analyzing every team and fighters it's still not a guaranty that you will be accurate in your bets.
Sports betting is much more challenging than luck-based games because even though you decide the result you will have to hope and pray that everything fall into pieces.

I think there's no problem risking with $18 for a bet that you are confident with, even if the odds is very high, like x1000 in this case. Normally, this parlay and bet builder bets are only done for fun (no high expectation), meaning, you don't do this on a daily basis due to its slim chances of winning, and it's still good to stick with the single bet odds as that gives at least 50/50 chance or higher if you are good at sports you are betting.
675  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - December 26 on: December 01, 2023, 07:00:30 AM
Let's see.... I can't wait to see this fight so speculation would stop, but personally I'm not expecting a miracle here, I just want to see an explosive fight, regardless if Tapales will win or not.

What miracle do you mean? Is it if Tapales will win this fight? Sorry mate, I think I would disagree with you on that because Tapales is also a champion and we've seen how determine he is to win by doing hard training, so supporting our own here is the right thing to do, maybe not what you want but I'd say the right thing.

Me, I don't care if Tapales winning the fight is called a miracle as long as he wins. It's pretty much obvious how fans sees this fight, there was a survey I read before and 80% believe Inoue will win this fight, so Tapales being the heavy underdog winning is already a big miracle.

Yes, it could be just an upset, maybe him winning against Akhmadaliev could categorically be call as miracle as well because literally no one thought that he can do that. But he eventually beat Akhmadaliev in a close fight by decision.
I know he was a heavy dog that fight against Akhmadaliev, but comparing Akhmadaliev to Inoue, there's a big difference here as Inoue is a superstar, included in the top 3 pound for pound ranking, so this is more like a real definition of a miracle, his win against Akhmadaliev was just a mere upset.

You're right there, supporting our own is good, but you can't force someone who he would support as we have our own right especially if you are not only a sports enthusiast but a gambler as well. As a gambler you don't follow your heart when choosing the winner as that's a complete bias which will likely result in a lose.

And there are many fans here who will support Tapales no matter what. Of course, Inoue will be Inoue, he is setting records already and he is the favorite in this fight. But in boxing, just one punch can turn the fight around, just saying. If Tapales has done it before, then maybe he can duplicate his success against the monster.

Tapales' name is  not popular in the boxing community, so they'll be surprise if Tapales will win here. However, if we try to look back on the previous fights of Inoue, it's easy to tell that Tapales has a very slim chance of winning despite people say that Tapales have train hard for this fight.

But like I stated, I would be happy if Tapales would win.
676  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Should trading be for the rich? on: November 30, 2023, 09:21:08 PM
There are people who have learnt how to trade, practiced on demo accounts for long but have not had the money to try trading on the market, and so they have abandoned trading to try search for money first. While there are others who have too little income, that they cannot profit from the market trading, they are always worried about loosing and because of that they make mistakes with their technical analysis and end up loosing the little money they have. Should trading be exclusive to financially comfortable and rich because of how risky it is?
If trading is exclusive for rich people only, then why do we see such poor individuals experience life's big changes because of successful trading. That only proves that trading has no limits or distinctions. Successful trading can both happen to rich or poor traders.

While trading can be a lot more risky most especially to those who only trade with limited amount of money, but if those traders have also developed working skills and strategies for successful trading, then risking in trading is always worth the efforts and risks.

However, someone attempted a 3 on the last possession of the Heat, and luckily it just bounce, so woah, big relieved for me.  Grin
I also saw that desperate final shot and we're lucky it didn't go in because it could've been a backdoor cover.

It's tempting to go for the bigger favorites like the Nuggets, Magic, or Lakers but i'm still scarred from what happened the other day. I switched my pick to the Suns since they've been on a good streak and should extend it even further if nothing goes wrong.

I was hoping the Suns winning streak continued but they let us both down tonight. Booker with only 8 points 5 rebounds and 5 assists kinda hurt. KD was the only 1 with a decent game.

I can't believe Booker could only score 8 points. He's a start who always bring at least 20 points per game but this game it looks like he was lock down by the defense of the Raptors. But then, I think it's justifiable though as they were travelling and winning games, possibly the fatigue factor for Booker took a hit on him that game, you can never tell though.
679  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Who should own a demo account? on: November 27, 2023, 07:19:43 PM
There is no restriction to who can own a Demo trading account, a new trader or an expert trader. I know many traders may feel like they are now bigger than demo accounts, and only new traders should have demo accounts for demo trades, but I think that to avoid losses still, expert traders should also have demo accounts for trying out new strategies before they try it live. What do you think?

Do you as an experienced trader that has made profit from the market repeatedly, do you still have a demo account for trying out new strategies?
I chose not to own a demo account because I still think that even if you have a demo account but your skills and strategies are not sufficient enough, you will never be a successful trader. So I'll just focus more on honing my skills and best working strategies through trading most often, that way I will gain more confidence to trade. Having a demo account is never a guarantee that you will never lose again with trading, as there will always be trading losses and mistakes no matter how proficient you are as a trader.

However, owning a demo account is always a choice, regardless of your position in the market. The essential thing here is you got to learn from your demo account in preparation for your live trading account, otherwise, demo trading account will end up  useless.
680  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme. on: November 27, 2023, 06:46:00 PM
The way some people present Bitcoin to newbies who are interested in the technology, that's what makes them feel that Bitcoin is a get-rich-quick scheme. For example, you might ask a newbie to invest in Bitcoin, telling them that they will make a big profit in the next bull market. They might invest the way you have asked them to, but they might not actually know what the bull and bear markets are. They might not be able to handle the volatile nature of the market. But for the experienced Bitcoiners, they're all aware that Bitcoin is not a get-rich-quick scheme; Bitcoin investment takes time for you to reap your profit.
This is the reason why it's still best to do your own research and educate yourself first before you will enter investing in the crypto market. Otherwise, if you rely on other people's say or ideas, they will find some ways on how to manipulate your way of thinking until you end up believing that bitcoin is actually a get rich quick. When that happens, your obsession for bitcoin grows that lead you to wrong decision making that will eventually put you at the losing end.

There's no real investment that is certainly a get rich quick. You have to put a lot of effort to make it work, but if you don't have the patience to wait, your success will definitely be put at risk.
