I hope someone can help:

Which would be the best for mining XMR:
1. Upgrading to an i7 that support 8 threads
2. Purchase a GTX1060 GPU

Almost in the same price range.

Any tips would be much appreciated!

Is there any Nvidia GTX 1060, 1070 , 1080 miner?

Have a look at minergate.com, as far as I know, they support the Nvidia cards.

The 100 nodes for bounties have been taken. But nothing stopping you from maintaining a test node to help the team.

guys i can not run waves as node
i follow the guide and
#start waves
output:
Code:
The program 'start' is currently not installed. You can install it by typing:
apt install upstart

i check the processes and waves not seen there as daemon
how can i fix this?

Too late now, we missed it. They already captured the 100 bounty nodes Sad

Send me PM with your email address.

Thanks Twiggy, not to worry. Actually realised I was on Slack before, I was able to get in.

Can I run a node on windows?

For example with VMware or Virtual Box - Yes. You need to install Ubuntu on your virtual machine.

Hi Twiggy, I got stuck with the test node config, I am not quite sure what to do at this step? What does it mean I have to "decide" on an api_key? Does it mean I must make up one and add it in the json file?

Decide what api_key you require and call /utils/hash/secure using http method to calculate apiKeyHash.

Write down your apiKeyHash.

Also tried this below, but it didnt work:

GET http://127.0.0.1:6869/utils/hash/secure

It comes back with:
The request, and all future requests should be repeated using <a href="/swagger">this URI</a>.

Thanks for any help

If you wanna fud do it here not on slack channel. Theres much freedom here if you just notice.

500waves is goong to be a huge amount. If only i have the knowledge to do it, i may have done it a hundred times to have that bounty.

Just Do it. But 1 IP = 1 Node Wink

Currently our goal is about 50 nodes.

How to be a node? Any instructions? And 500 waves for 1 week? That's cool, maybe I will try. Thx TM.

See instructions + put your node name in config and have it operational for a week. Check status of your node here - http://testnet.wavesexplorer.com/peers (it can takes some time before your node will added in this list)

Cool, I'll setup a test node tonight when I get home..
670  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: August 18, 2016, 08:07:49 AM

Wow, there is so much in that document.  We landed on our feet with this Charles guy.
He has a good understanding of Business, Computing, Communication, Psychology, Sociology, Game Theory and, the thing that tie them all together, Mathematics.  I bet he can play a good hand at poker and play a couple of musical instruments too.

I will need to do some in-depth analysis of this expose' but on the face of it, this bloke knows where it's at.

In his proposal he mentioned that the difficulty bomb is an issue that should be talked about. My speculation is ETC will be the first one to do a fork to remove the difficulty bomb and it will also give ETC the opportunity to fix the replay attack issue also. After that it would be good for both chains now that they are truly separated and diverging in their own paths.

If that is the case, then the miners will support it and the price could rise above the ETH in the future. It will be good.

Devs are working hard https://trello.com/b/ZuTNRTsW/etc-bomb-disposal
It may be possible to code out the bomb with no HF needed, it is not clear yet.
Remember, that bomb was put there for a reason.  To make miners quit and go to PoS.  Maybe we just worsen its effect so it does not increase exponentially, but on a linear vector, therefore: it takes effect over years rather than months.
Eth still has 4 more forks in its roadmap.  I wish them luck in not producing more ethereum clones.
As for the replay attack issue, if you use the new Classic wallets you are protected.

Dang, I am so excited for ETC!
671  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] -NEW BURST OP- MINE ANY FREE SPACE-(HDD MINING)- ATs, AE, P2P MARKET+MORE! on: August 18, 2016, 07:45:06 AM
Hi all Burst veterans!

I am new to Burst - the whole "mine with your free HDD capacity" thing caught my eye :-)

What amount of Burst would one expect to be able to mine (per day) with a 1TB drive. I use 1 TB just as a bench-mark, I would of course try and get as many TB's as possible if it looks profitable.

I also see that there are custom assets on the Burst exchange? This looks interesting - I guess I can buy these assets with the Burst I mine?

I will be mining on Windows 10. I have downloaded the wallet, installed and have it all set up. I am also currently downloading the blockchain file. Tonight I will start setting up everything and plotting a test drive or two.

I was just wondering what I could expect as a normal return on (say) a 1TB drive.

Thanks for any help Cheesy

Lol. The strong Fudding in this thread means only one thing: people are trying to get cheap WAVES before the inevitable price increase after the impending release of the full nodes  Grin  Cheesy

WAVES Weekly No. 7

Intro.
We are finishing consensus algorithm, POS algorithm which is going to allow us to launch the full nodes. It took us a little bit  longer than we thought, some problems with network layer and Scala, some technical issues that actually we didn`t know about but all of them all  solved at the moment and we are moving forward. At the same time we are working on custom tokens. The essence of the Waves platform is the ability to create, trade, transfer, issue custom tokens. I thought  initially that we will launch the main network without the tokens but we  have them almost done, so we are going to be launching both full nodes and custom tokens. After that we are going to be working on LPOS that is  some cross between Bitshares delegated POS and Account Leasing from  NXT. This is going to allow us to offer a secure LPOS system, very fast,  where only like 100 hundred nodes process all the transactions. It is  some kind of centralization of course but it has to be there in order to  make system production ready. It can really make transactions faster  and it can make the system business oriented.

We are not trying  to build some network of laptops that can confirm transactions, we are  working on the system where handful of nodes process the transactions  but they can do it efficiently. That will be the next stage of our  development and after that we will have Waves as a pretty production ready system that can be used for a variety of applications, for token creations, you will be able to do a lot of things with it and it is going to take us not so long. The time for it would be beginning of fall  where we have LPOS, centralized trading with blockchain settlement,  where you can trade with high speed on centralized servers but they don`t control any funds and all transactions are settled on blockchain.  We are going to have it pretty soon. That will be first production  version of Waves platform. So these are our plans for the next several  weeks, few months.

How can anybody have any trust for the ETH Foundation left? I am all in on ETC. I really hope it grows and prosper. Good luck to everybody working on ETC.

Maybe you shouldn't be in crypto. I am already in profit with WAVES. Any further upwards movement in the price is amazing profits Smiley

I am buying more WAVES. Bought during ICO and a lot after. Also a bag at 19k. I am patient, I think WAVES will be a game changer and will deliver great medium to long term returns Smiley

Go Sasha!
680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ICO 15% BONUS] deCLOUDs - Precious Metals-Backed Crypto-Platform on BlockChain on: August 13, 2016, 08:19:49 PM
Can someone quickly explain how the value of this coin is backed by the four precious metals? Also, is the main point of deCLOUDs the backing of precious metals? Looking at the features, I see some cryptocurrencies already have them.
Yeah I want to know this too.

Seems like there's no answer so far/they haven't planned how to do it.

Yeah, would be nice to see a short bullet-point summary of what makes DeCLouds different to other cryptos, and exactly what the precious metals backing achieves..
