661  Economy / Economics / Re: What should I convert my money into? on: October 30, 2019, 09:55:28 AM
I have about $1k in local currency (Russian ruble) and I strongly believe that this currency is not the best choice to store money for long periods.

As you might know, there was a Crimea occupation done by Russians about 5 years ago. This was followed by sanctions USA and EU put onto Russia. After that ruble devaluation started. It actually could be stopped by now, at least hindered, as some serious people say, but the Bank of Russia(local fed) doesn't do anything. Though it must and has all resources to.

I suppose I will convert it to either btc or usd, I can't choose what is better... maybe I have to store money %50 in btc and %50 in usd... but I read somewhere there can be another global financial crisis soon... perhaps I could only store it as btc, I know there is a lot of people in Nigeria buying btc because its currency is hyperinflated and majority of population there don't have bank accounts. Well, the policy of Bank of Russia can also lead to unbanked population due to the fact there are lots of banks blocking all "suspicious" transactions without even explaining why it is so "suspicious". Oh and you also should tell where did you get this money and where they go to, otherwise we close your bank account, dear terrorist-money-laundering scum client.

I have reasons to believe Russia will finally turn to its African sibling in several years.

I know this is opinion-related topic and I shouldn't consider your answer as financial advice. Anyway I'd like to see what you think about it and what you would do. Even better, you could reason why you think this way.

I would suggest you to divide it into three parts and invest one part into bitcoin, another into Kuwaiti Dinar as it has the highest value when compared with the over all fiat currency and remains I would suggest to invest into gold.  This is just my personal opinion and in case if you don't wanna invest into Kuwaiti Dinar then go for bitcoin and gold alone,  if you don't wanna take any risk then gold will be better option.
Investing not only in bitcoin which is a digital currency but also in the physical assets would be a better choice.
Bitcoin is a volatile investment and perfectly made for long term investment. An investment like gold and such as that gives you a security to assure that none of your investment will be gone in an instant.
662  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do me a favor, tell me really clearly and slowly what exactly a blockchain is? on: October 30, 2019, 08:46:16 AM
I cheated my way thru in a job interview, for the role of the content writer of exchange, now my boss asks me to write about blockchain but I know nothing about it.

You said "cheated"?

Well well, even if you manage to pass this test, I doubt you'll last in your position if you don't figure it out by yourself. Instead of cheating to get a job, you better increase your skill and run another interview (no cheat at all).
Cheating doesn't give you any good results, so it's best to stop by and learn about blockchain first and how it's used.

If you pass that, your work will still not be good because you will not be able to do the content because you have zero knowledge about what blockhain is.
Cheating won't help an individual to grow; However, learning will never stop.
He passed the job, then it's his responsibility now to prove that he can do the job by learning everything he needs to know about it.

-snip-
Point well made, OP is literally in a bad situation right now but guess what? its his/her choice at the first place. You know what someone lose the opportunity because of that, maybe they are much more deserving than you but now you are suffering the consequences of your actions. Well its better if you find out things on your own, because in that way you will easily understand things. You can't just depend on people's opinion and thoughts about blockchain, you need to have your own exploration.
These will depend on his task deadline, if he think he can still certify his position and have time to studied blockchain overnight then he can continue it and act as if he's not cheating. He can create details as newbie but maybe not the way the boss expected it on him. We know the opportunity is there but if it will make you suffer from the rest of your stay in that company since you lied to them better tell them the truth or work hard to be like "what they expect you to be, like what your cheat submission, your call"
Learning takes time depends on an individual understanding. If he believes in himself that he can do it before the said deadline, then he may cover his cheating activity. If he did it, then he can secure his position on the job.
He can't provide a deeper explanation for now and it's the consequence of cheating, but after having a research and he still remains the same, his job will be out of his reach.
663  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are there any applications on Mobile to trade crypto? on: October 30, 2019, 05:08:23 AM
You can choose the apps you want by reading this article:

Quote

I used Polotrex, Trextracker, ZTrader before I knew TabTrader. After I tried TabTrader, I feel that the apps are accessible to use, and I can trade everywhere while I am not using my computer. You can get the API from each app, and you can also disable the withdraw function, so you don't have to worry about stealing your money.

You can find more apps that can be used for your iPhone, but make sure that you only install the trust apps, so you don't have to afraid of the malicious malware, virus, or trojan.

I also used Polotrex and TabTrader, it is very effective and secured when it comes to trading in mobile. It is easy to use and accurate when it comes to faster transactions. There is no way for you to lost your money because it has a great security. There are a lot of apps in mobile that can be use in trading transactions but these to are the apps that I tried and experienced.

For me, I often used the following applications on mobile phone to trade cryptocurrency.
Binance mobile app, Huobi Mobile app, Gate.io mobile app and RobinHood app for trading cryptocurrency.
Most of the time I used Binance mobile app. I recently started using mobile app to trade and I feel comfortable with it. I find it user friendly and the security is high. At first, I am in doubt since I thought that this is not their legal mobile app, then after that I started using it frequently.
664  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: All ICO Project Proponents Must Also Submit KYC on: October 30, 2019, 04:28:16 AM

The KYC requirement in many ICO projects has been the bone of contention of many investors and supporters with many thinking and feeling that this is not needed as this is the industry that proposes decentralization, anonymity and privacy. However, a project can argue that it is the law that requires them to know their customers and they are in fact just following the regulation. The problem is that KYC is not a guarantee that a project can never go down the coffin and run with the investors' money...maybe travelling to the "moon" and have an indefinite vacation in there until the victims can forget their misfortune of trusting them.

Now, if these project owners can require us to undergo the KYC process...should it not be rational that they themselves submit to the same so that we can be sure that we are dealing with real people with real address?
I agree with you. If some project requires pass the KYC ,then the team should do same. It would be very fair.
Who would verify those kyc if this will happen.
Regulation will be needed to evaluate if their identification will pass and to know if this is legal information.  If they will undergo KYC without anyone who will look for it, then it will be useless.
665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins to go crazy again once Bitcoin reaches 20k? on: October 29, 2019, 02:37:53 PM
Is it possible that we see another altcoin season, if Bitcoin breaches the all-time high and go above 20k? Do you find a direct correlation?
I hope that will happen, altcoin experiences bullish when bitcoin goes to the moon. In my opinion altcoin should tend to follow the price of bitcoin, for example at the moment bitcoin is experiencing bullish and altcoin is also experiencing it, but in my opinion the potential to experience a surge in the top 10 in cmc after bitcoin.
So far, bitcoin were still far away from reaching that again, but it is possible to happen or maybe go higher and reach another ath by the next following months. No one expected for bitcoin to reached 20k$ before and for altcoins to get along with it.
Bullish market will come in the right time, we can't determine when it will happen, but in the right time for sure.
666  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Best to Safely Store Your Coins and ALTs! Bitcoin is treasure; Alts are too. on: October 29, 2019, 02:06:02 PM

The first option is to save with a hardware wallet, because were not connected to the network in storage period then this is the safest choice. Second choise for alt wallet, I entrust it to myetherwallet or metamask. because it is connected to the network and is at risk of being hacked, if you have large funds, it is better to split into several wallets.
Hardware wallet is the best choice indeed. Also,
Using myetherwallet can also secured your funds as long as you did not make any mistake to leaked any information of your wallet especially the private key. I also do the same idea of splitting the funds to multiple wallets to avoid risk of losing it all in an instant
667  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whet is the best marketplace to buy Bitcoin? on: October 29, 2019, 01:17:19 PM
If your local country has financial services that cover bitcoin, it is the best of choice.
In our country, we do have a mobile application, it can be also used on the web, we can buy bitcoin anytime as long as we have our balance on that application.
If you do not have the same application in your country as that, you can buy at big exchanges such as Binance. It will be easy because it is user friendly and it is also secured.
668  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: China's President Xi Jinping said, Blockchain is vital for China’s future. on: October 29, 2019, 12:37:51 PM
This news happened a few days ago and provides many advantages in price, because after this news was launched the price of bitcoin and most of the altcoin pump in market. I think China is indeed a country that can make crypto grow for the price, because there is a lot of good news that gives advantages and disadvantages when there is bad news.
It became the trigger for the every cryptocurrency to increase their prices. China announced that they will focus on the improvement of blockchain, they seem to have a plan and already have in mind how they can maximize the usage of blockchain technology.
669  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TAKE A BREAK! on: October 29, 2019, 11:59:30 AM
I don’t think it’s worth taking a vacation and throwing an investment if you are an investor or quit participating in a bounty companies if you are a bounty hunter, because you will lose a lot of time and maybe you will lose a good profit, because you just need to approach everything wisely and spend as much time as you will not mind in the cryptocurrency and exactly those funds that you are not afraid to lose.

Based on what I understand from OP's statement is that sometimes people should take a break if things do not go well on their side, it doesn't mean that you will go on vacation and forget about crypto instead you are taking a break so you can have time to think about the things you did wrong and come back fresh with the right state of mind.
if the emotional level is already unstable it is better for us to rest to make corrections to our own knowledge. because if you force it will happen bad things that are losses, because they can not do the job to the maximum. I think it really takes time to calm the mind so that the next work can run properly
Better to have a new start and forget about the past, forget those mistakes and use those experiences to become a better bounty hunter/investor.
Taking a break is fine, it helps an individual to enlighten and have a clear mind. During a break, learning and trying new things can help oneself to improve.
670  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to understand risk in crypto on: October 29, 2019, 10:50:04 AM
Well, you will understand the risk best once you try loss on your own skin.  Smiley
However, to avoid that you need knowledge about Bitcoin and the market so try to get aa much information as you can from trusted sources. Also, don't forget that Bitcoin is volatile and majority of risk lies exactly in that feature.
Also, inform yourself about risk management in general, it will also help you with Bitcoin.

I agree with your opinion, I will also say that experience is the best lesson to understand and avoid risks in trading. indeed we must have knowledge about analysis or trading strategies, but all that is not enough if we never get the risk of trading. we must always look for reliable information, and also we should not be bored in looking for comparisons of our strategies with friends. because in my opinion comparing strategies to many people, can increase our strategy in doing good trading.

If we are talking about trading, then this is true. Experience teaches us to be careful and not be a gambler, understand the market. Here, probably the best advice is to trade small sums so that the experience is not very bitter.
Learning not only from your own experience but also when having your own research to expand and have an individual knowledge when it comes to trading. Not everyone can start trading immediately, you can earn experience, but it is not enough to learn everything about it.
671  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: People are to be blame for what happened to them on the internet on: October 29, 2019, 10:15:57 AM
When it comes to money people like trying out things the way they see fit, try first learn later is the rules of newbies and thats why they always get scammed easily, HYIP, Pyramid Scheme, as dangerous and alarming these two are people still join them till date, both crypto and internet is not the evil here, people are to be blame for what happened to them
Greedy people walks among us till date and it favours few of them the truth is there is no way to get rid of greed but too much of everything is what makes it bad, if you know where and when to use your greed it might favour you
Greed is always in everyone's personality. When it comes to money, every person can change in an instant. They tend to risk their investment in an unrealistic promise like HYIPs/investment schemes/etc..

Lets stop treating 'greed' like a parasite or plague, a well known rich man once said...be greedy when others are fearful and be fearful when others are greedy, i think greed will always lives in us forever but to take over greed or use it as a good weapon we have to learn first, those greedy people who loses throw away 'learning' first
Greed can use in a good way, it can be a weapon to outsmart other people. But it can also use against you if you do not have enough learnings, especially on investments.

672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China Has Something to Do with Bitcoin's Price Increase After All on: October 28, 2019, 02:18:28 PM
China's population coupled with their wealth can push the price to heaven. Anytime there is positive news from china about Cryptocurrency or blockchain, especially from the government angle, there is always a positive impact on the market. The rate at which the price of bitcoin picked is something else.
Their reputation is their key. They have enough influence to attract other countries to get along with their decisions. Due to the announcement of the Chinese President, not only the citizen in China but also in other countries are now starting to store bitcoin, they expect to have something huge will happen on its price.
673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will China start Altcoin Season on: October 28, 2019, 11:10:39 AM
I hope so!

In my opinion many Chinese are feverishly opening accounts right now to invest
Chinese search engines are reporting the Chinese are searching this topic feverishly!
If these guys start investing in the projects that are on the Chinese list of preferred projects I don’t need to tell you what will happen.

As an example, I am invested in Cardano and it is on the list and they also have a solid presence in China

https://www.tronweekly.com/iohk-bringing-cardano-ada-closer-to-chinese-market/

I am not telling you to buy Cardano it is an example. There are many projects on the Chinese preferred  list.

List is here:

https://news.bitcoin.com/china-rankings-37-crypto-projects/
If that happens will that was a very good news! Altcoins needs boost since it was hardly affected of the price dump in the previous months, If the chinese investors will help and choose altcoins rather than Bitcoin alone its should be watch since its a huge pump if ever happen. but its just an speculation i'm not sure about it! lets wait and see.
The whole market is highly affected, and due to this, it may actually help to reverse the current situation we have. Not only in altcoins, but this may include even bitcoin to have a long green again in the chart. Speculations have chances to happen, we just need to believe it will.
674  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ukraine wants to legalize crypto (again) on: October 28, 2019, 10:19:56 AM
Some may say that the decision of the government of Ukraine is good; However, we all know that their economic status is not doing good. They also suffer from corruption which affects even their justice system and civil society.
This may have an effect to increase their status, or maybe make it worse.
675  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Bitcoin beat Bank interest rates and inflation. :-> on: October 28, 2019, 08:58:07 AM
Bank's interest are useless because you will just use it to pay for the fees on withdrawing your money on different ATM and of course they don't want you to earn more from them. Bitcoin is a life changer, it brings good profit that you can really use to reinvest or buy something that you want. If you will just depend on banks, you will die poor and you will never experience the real meaning of interest income. Though I still have my money with the banks for liquidity and emergency purposes, I think everyone should consider this.
Banks are the only ones who get profitable with our investment. Their interest is very low which you can't even make enough profit over a year.
Bitcoin is a double edge sword that you can earn and have losses at the same time. It is a risk you should face to have an opportunity to have more profit than storing money on a bank.

677  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to prepare for long term HODL on: October 28, 2019, 05:10:07 AM
For me, long-term hold is only bitcoin. The most reliable coin. If you still talk about altcoins, then for long-term hodl is most suitable ether. As for the preparation, you have described everything correctly. If you follow these rules and choose good coins, the long-term hold will be successful.
Yes, but there are some other crypto investments that are good for long term investment and not only just bitcoin.
Ethereum is indeed one of those. If you will only study the flow of the market you will know altcoins that are good for long term investments.

678  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you know any online bitcoin wallet that gives you a debit card? on: October 28, 2019, 03:35:30 AM
Are you talking about BitPay? I think they have this kind of service which gives you to convert your bitcoin to Visa

Please refer to this link and see if this is what you're looking for : https://bitpay.com/card/

If so, read their feedback/customer review before deciding to use it.
679  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China's President Xi Jinping VS Bitcoin on: October 28, 2019, 02:44:43 AM
I guess it will be hard for them to create a cryptocurrency which is better than Bitcoin. As we all know, Btc is well established and has passed all the tests of time which made its foundation strong so if they will create their own coin in the future, they have to go through a lot as well.

true and even if we say that they can manipulate it , it will still be hard for them to to reach what bitcoin has already reached because bitcoin is already recognized globally   .

Quote
For now, I guess they will only be adopting Bitcoin. If massive adoption from China will happen, I'm sure that it will bring a positive effect to the market situation.
why will they do that ? why will they join bitcoin if in they want to control or create  coin that can compete with bitcoin but we dont know what china thinks , if they change thier minds maybe theyl be good at bitcoin  .china's presence can indeed bring alot of impact on the price of btc
Chinese President announced that they are starting to adopt blockchain technology and they will focus on its development. They did not state anything about creating their own crypto for now. They are more focused on blockchain technology and not about bitcoin or even competing with it.

Of course they will make their own currency. It's China!! They always need to have control. They can't make their minds up so maybe they want their own currency to replace their people using bitcoin.
It will be much easier for them to control.

China positive towards blockchain will defintely help bitcoin market to get more funds in the market and in asia it is already positive for bitcoin and crypto related projects

Or it will dilute the bitcoin dominance since many Chinese bitcoin holders sell for their new currency if the decision to make one?

control is the right word in here. chinese govt always wants to have control of his people one way or another.
and the pres realised that if they will continue to be strict with crypto and blockchain as was before, they will not move forward.
they want power and so they need to optimise what blockchain tech is offering..
i was thinking that when they had tight regulations with crypto before, they were already scrutinising it and now they realised the benefits of this technology and so with the president's speech...

That's the governance of China. Being able to adapt and create things as their own.
And now, they are going to focus on the adaptation of blockchain technology, they realized its importance and its use. That's why they make a move to accept it and create one as their own.
680  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Every tiny piece of Bitcoin is worth it! on: October 27, 2019, 08:47:49 AM
Back in the days i used to disregard some pennies of my bitcoins in several exchanges thinking that these coins would never be worth it looking at its price at the moment. However, this idea came into my mind about some few weeks ago that what if Bitcoin reaches a double of its previous all time or even greater once this long awaited global adoption sets in.

Seriously this made me think twice and have made me roam through all my exchange accounts and wallets making sure that i have access to them in order to cash out all those pieces of bitcoin if they ever become worth it again. This may sound quite silly but i am quite optimistic about it Grin
When it's my first time to buy bitcoin, i also never thought that bitcoin would increased it's value much more, that is why a lot of people back then don't also expect that holding bitcoin could be so profitable. So starting today, i value and cherish even a small price of my bitcoin because it still has a potential to increase it's price in the near future when i hold it for a long time.
No one really would have thought that bitcoin will become valuable as it is today.
As we have our chances now, we can save and store enough bitcoin for a brighter future, even a small amount of bitcoin is valuable and it shouldn't be put to waste.
