6601  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: December 29, 2021, 07:34:35 AM
It's time we get some updates in this thread.
I present to you How to do English in multiple colors and stuff. Special characters - so much, quotations and punctuation marks - oh yes please.
Extraordinary!

It'll be double if you consider "Bump the Topic" <A lot of people will respond to get Merits, so that subject matter might be first> firstly then You can try "False Critiques" <If you can show it, it's far like promoting deserves for wonderful comments, that is conduct that merits poor acceptance as true with>

Therefore, you want to prove that Merit resources use Merit (indirect promoting) to get high-quality remarks.
6602  Other / Meta / Re: Can a merit source use it's status to shill own project by giving merit ? on: December 29, 2021, 07:27:54 AM
but i don't know if you have pm him already that motivates him to come online
I PMed him like I said he would. I am sure he read the PM and saw the link in it. Otherwise, he wouldn't have distributed all those merits in this thread. He probably doesn't think this is even something worth discussing.
Honestly, OP should just lock the thread. @FunctionalFedora lock it up!

This is just a sad combination of words that resemble meaningful sentence-like structures.
6603  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stake.com & responsible gambling? on: December 28, 2021, 01:45:52 PM
Stake does not work with this register sadly. In my opinion Stake really has to tighten their responsibile gambling. Maybe perform KYC checks upon depositing instead of letting them play and on a big win start asking for KYC.
You can't compare a crypto casino to regular fiat-based platforms who adhere to strict regulations. People involved with crypto don't want strict control. They especially don't want to undergo KYC. Requiring KYC after a big win is an excuse that many platforms use unfortunately. But again, due to a lack of regulation, that has become a normal thing in this space.

I hope a representative will jump on this thread soon to help solve the issue, since their support is only making things worse.
I don't think you should expect too much. You let your guard down and you gambled. Would this thread have been created if you won $70.000 instead of the $7.000 that you lost, for example? I don't think it would.
6604  Other / Meta / Re: New child board idea - Notable Twitter Threads on: December 28, 2021, 01:12:53 PM
I could do that in a self-moderated thread, but in Press it would violate the POST FORMAT: YYYY-MM-DD SITE - HEADLINE format. It also violates the Guidelines for Press board, but most topics do that already.
An exception could surely be made if the staff decided that it would be a good idea to approve this proposal by the OP. I doubt it though. Something like the WO thread that has its own set of rules (or no rules).

I think such a board would just be a paradise for spammers, and strict board moderation is not something we can expect if we take into account what happened in the Press board.
We have strict moderation in the Mining boards. Many people don't like it, but try and post something with no value, discuss something off-topic, or about GPU-mining and you will see what happens. A moderator can be strict if he chooses to. The Press board is a place where a firmer hand would be welcome.

I might even agree with such a board, but only if the rights to post there would be clearly defined, that is, if they should be approved in advance individually for each member of the forum who would request it.
That might be too complicated. Instead, whoever moderates that place can just ban those from the sub who spam and don't respect the rules. We have seen that being done in the Technical Bitcoin subs, when the mod decided to sanction certain members by removing their posting rights.

Upravo to. Taj auto-run i jeste najznačajniji u cijeloj priči.
6606  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Pregled Bitcointalk Signature-Ad kampanja on: December 28, 2021, 10:47:43 AM
I on nosi njihov potpis.

Edit:
To the last members who were accepted: Please update your Signature with the one in OP now, the wrong signature had been added in the most recent update so you are currently wearing an outdated version.

My bad! And thank you in advance Smiley
6607  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Novosti on: December 28, 2021, 10:40:07 AM

6608  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stake.com & responsible gambling? on: December 28, 2021, 10:26:13 AM
Stake shouldn't have sent you those emails, that is true. But ultimately, you decide what path you will take. Apparently, you aren't strong enough to make that decision yourself. It was just a matter of time before you would slip up. If it wasn't due to an email sent by Stake, it could be because of a billboard you see in your town, an ad on TV, or an offer somewhere online. Seeking professional help is the right way to go about it. That together with the help of those close to you can make a change.

Hope you get those personal issues sorted out and you become a stronger person who knows how to say no.

Good Luck!
6609  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: i need about 3 tbtc (bitcoin testnet) on: December 28, 2021, 08:52:32 AM
What possible reason could you have for asking 3 tbtc and not 0.3 or 0.03? If your tests are successful with 0.03 tBTC (or an even smaller amount), they will be equally successful with 3 or 300 tbtc. The rules of the game don't change the more Bitcoin you have to transact with.

I think mocacinno was lending people tBTC in the past. No idea if he is still doing it or if he would work with you because of your negative tag.
6610  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: We have the right tools but many don't know how to use them on: December 28, 2021, 08:09:45 AM
I agree that CoinMarketCap is a good starting point to get some basic information about a certain coin. Besides the official website, CMC will also suggest you blockchain explorers, a link to the source code, audits, social media, etc. But all that should be taken with a grain of salt. Don't trust the info just because it's on CMC. Compare it with other sources. CoinMarketCap can get hacked (and has been hacked) like any other site. Information can be intentionally changed to trick unsuspecting users.

A project can work "legitimately" for months and months, until an "exploit" has been found whereas there's a good chance that the exploit was self-inflicted.
When we are on the subject of self-inflicted bugs and exploits, have you seen the movie Money Monster? It's got nothing to do with crypto. It's about the stock market, but still an interesting watch.
6611  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Share your costly lesson about cryptocurrency.. on: December 28, 2021, 07:54:57 AM
...but someone with the vast knowledge approached me with the investment proposal and plan to hodl for ten years which I turned down.

If I had invested that amount then, perhaps it would have worked in my favour and I'd be a Billionaire by now  Grin
Someone? It depends on who that someone is. If it's a person you know and trust, it could have been a legitimate proposal. But if the person is unknown, you might have actually saved yourself from losing $50.000 and maybe making that person rich. Investors don't really go around and ask random people to invest together with them.
6612  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: That honest attitude is better than the thousands of spam posts you spread on: December 28, 2021, 07:43:51 AM
Wow. Last time I checked, EZ0010 had less than 90 merits, and that was not a long time ago. It looks like he will have the merits of a hero member in a few weeks, but the activity of a newbie.

I believe you need to use that as an excuse reason as to why you should have an honest attitude here even when you are a newbie or a high rank bounty hunter.
I fixed it for you a bit. "Excuse" makes it sound like me made some kind of mistake or that his actions are contrary to expected and normal behavior.

I spent years on this forum and no one ever sent me more BTC than they should have to create a situation like this.
That reminds me how back in the day FortuneJack sent me 0.15 BTC as a signature payment instead of 0.015 BTC. Someone somewhere didn't pay attention to the zeros. Shocked
6613  Economy / Gambling / Re: bet365crypto.net - Crypto bookie on: December 27, 2021, 07:51:23 PM
I made account here because one of telegram channel offer them , of course I asked owner or its safe , he promise me that yes , explain me about vip accounts and ect ...
Why would you trust a random Telegram user/owner or whatever he is? He is probably paid to shill for the casino or is part of the scam as a team member or in some other function.

and yes first I deposit 200 euros lose , after deposit 400 eu reach up till 1338 euros , after try to withdraw 500eu and they close access to account not answer to emails so total nothing from them side ...
Do you have any proof to back this up? Screenshots, logs, anything to verify your story?
If it's genuine, sorry for your loss, it really sucks. But if you are that easily deceived, it was just a matter of time before something like that happened. You don't just go and deposit €200, €300, or €500 on some site because someone told you it's safe. Newbie or not, that's a completely wrong approach to your financials. If someone approached you on the street and told you about this great investment opportunity that would only cost you €500, you would probably think it is a scam. The online world is just like that, but nastier and more dangerous.
6614  Other / Meta / Re: No begging - did I catch on rule #7 on: December 27, 2021, 07:40:35 PM
The only thing I would probably care about if I wanted to donate to Assange's support is that I would use a mixer, (in my country the secret services are not very friendly towards this kind of donation, simply adding such non-profit foundations to the register of undesirable organizations).
Questions were raised on the forum how canibalism13 and his team used the funds donated to their donation, but is anyone asking what does WikiLeaks or those representing themselves as WikiLeaks do with the money that is supposedly donated to support Assange? Are they transparent with the money that is spent?

I think Julian Assange will be extradited to the US sooner or later. They have such a hardon for him that they aren't going to let him slip away. Those who really want to help, should better contact the team that legally represents him - Birnberg Peirce Solicitors. Ask them how to help...
6615  Economy / Reputation / Re: My 30 questions for theymos on: December 27, 2021, 07:20:39 PM

Wow how daring Pmalek how daring.

I remember someone scared me that if you press ask any member such questions you might be banned for life.
Nah, that would go against the whole freedom-providing philosophy of Bitcointalk. And besides, there are different ways to look at those questions. Especially the one about what Satoshi would say if he/she came back. If you think today's forum is worse than what it was in the past, you might look at that question and see it as provocative. On the other hand, if you don't remember the atmosphere on the old Bitcointalk or you think this one is the same or even better, that's just a normal question. Wink
6616  Other / Meta / Re: Can a merit source use it's status to shill own project by giving merit ? on: December 27, 2021, 02:43:25 PM

 Grin Cheesy Grin

So krogothmanhattan hasn't said anything here. But his response to the question why he is giving merits in his own thread to people who support him and say nice things about his service was to give merits to people who spoke about him giving merits in his thread. Legendary!
6617  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How easy would it be to fake transactions? on: December 27, 2021, 02:30:52 PM
Interesting discussion and a great source of information for anyone who wants to learn different ways to cheat the system (aka other people, services, and merchants). Sticking to one of the oldest rules in the Bitcoin book still does wonders. Don't release goods before the transaction has received multiple confirmations. Since there is doubt that 1 confirmation is enough, wait for 2, 3, 6, etc.
6618  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Do you recognize this wallet from 2014 on: December 27, 2021, 01:51:22 PM
Is that a brand-new screenshot of the software synchronizing or did you have it somewhere on your computer from before? What version of the wallet do you have installed? It's a good thing that it's synchronizing, which means that it's most probably not corrupted (at least for now). If you are planning to keep using Bitcoin Core, you are going to have to download the entire blockchain and wait for the wallet to fully sync. You need to download the latest version as well like LoyceV pointed out. If you don't want a full-node, you can dump your private keys and import them into an SPV client like Electrum. Electrum doesn't require that you keep a copy of the whole blockchain on your hard drive.

[3] WikiLeaks + Don’t Extradite Assange Campaign / https://blockchair.com/donut/wikileaks
I would be cautious sending money towards Wikileaks and their "cause" of freeing Assange. Check out this thread of a guy who donated $5.000 instead of $50. He was trying to get hold of someone to tell them about his mistake. He has been unsuccessful so far. Besides that, someone who is in some way connected to one of the Telegram groups accepting donations advised him that he can create his own campaign and accept donations! Who knows which of those activities are genuine and which ones are for filling some scammer pockets.
6620  Other / Meta / Re: Can a merit source use it's status to shill own project by giving merit ? on: December 27, 2021, 01:22:46 PM
krogothmanhattan has so far not responded in this thread. Not that he really needs to do that. It's not an accusation, and even if it was, he has no reason to justify his actions because he isn't doing anything bad. Since he might not even be aware of the existence of this thread, I will PM him a link to it so that he can say something if he feels like doing that.
