я не особо понимаю смысла платить за плюшки, если можно не платить и если это не приносит прибыли. думаю таких большинство. отсюда и плюшки, нацеленные или на значительное упрощение игрового процесса(платишь за нагибаторство) или на увеличение профита(инвестируешь для увеличения профита). к тому же зачем придумывать постоянный контент, ивенты и прочая, если можно просто рубить бабло? хотя надо отдать должное степну - идея изначально была весьма годной, многих заставила оторвать жопу от такого мягкого и уютного дивана  Ну, во-первых, если разница между получить плюшку бесплатно но при этом потратить на 200 часов игрового времени стоит условно 100 баксов, то многие жители развитых стран легко выберут вариант заплатить и избежать тупого гринда и потери времени.
