6641  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Finmail - Send Email together with Bitcoin on: June 20, 2019, 04:48:25 PM
There is definitely a need for Bitcoin wallet add-ons for webmail and online email providers, because it already has a huge userbase and people in 3rd world countries need a easy way to send and receive Bitcoin. <The email concept is easy enough to understand, so the incorporation of a payment option in Crypto currency with their email, will go a long way to make Bitcoin adoption easier in these countries.>

It would be great if this can be linked to the Lightning Network, so that people can make cheap micro payments via their webmail accounts.  Tongue

Good luck with the project.  Wink
6642  Economy / Economics / Re: Repeating of all time high has begun on: June 20, 2019, 04:33:43 PM
The ATH phenomenon is not a repeating feature of Bitcoin, it is just something that happens with most popular commodities or assets out there in the market. Yes, we might reach the ATH in this year, but most predictions are total BS and this increase in the price should not create an expectation for potential investors that it must happen again.

We have seen several other stocks and shares that reached a ATH once and it never reached a new ATH again. Let's not build people's expectations if we do not have actual proof that it is going to the next ATH soon.  Wink
6643  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hhampuzism and yahoo62278ism on campaigns they manage. What you should know on: June 20, 2019, 03:21:30 PM
Thank you for the information of both of these campaign managers, because it is important that people get a feel for how these managers wants their campaigns to run. Some campaign managers are ruthless and they tolerate no nonsense and I have been in campaigns under these two managers and they are very fair with the way they judge people and their posts.  Wink

It will only be fair if you add DarkStar_ because he has been running one of the longest running signature campaigns on this forum and he has been doing a flawless job for years.  Grin
6644  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Libra coin over Bitcoin is that possible? on: June 20, 2019, 02:44:24 PM
It depends on how well people are educated and informed on the dangers of investing in a token with centralized control. If you are not worried about privacy and you want the US government and private companies to track all your financial transactions, then you are perfect for Libra.

If you are on the other hand a free thinker and you value your financial privacy then Bitcoin is for you. Why should these entities know everything about your finances and what you do with your wealth? <Buy something kinky with Libra and they know all about it>  Roll Eyes
6645  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best tips for who will invest in BTC for first time? on: June 20, 2019, 02:36:00 PM
One thing that are very important is the fact that people should realize very early on in this "game" that Bitcoin is a long-term, high risk investment and using it as a currency is it's primary goal. You should hoard 80% of all the new coins you buy and try to spend 20% of it, because people need to use it or merchants will stop accepting it and that will kill the merchant network.

The merchant network is just as important to stimulate the demand for bitcoins and for people to buy more coins on a regular basis. It provides a reason for people to constantly buy more coins.  Wink
6646  Economy / Speculation / Re: John McAfee Says- If Bitcoin Breaks 100k you can bet it will break a million on: June 20, 2019, 02:24:05 PM
John McAfee should have been dickless by now, if he believed his on bulls#$%!  Something I quickly picked up on him is that he thrives on media attention and he likes to make controversial statement to get more media attention.

The guy was in the limelight for a while and now he is looking for the same kind of attention that he got when he was still a big shot at McAfee.  Roll Eyes  People stopped taking him seriously after his several scandals over the years.  Roll Eyes
6647  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you gamble? on: June 20, 2019, 02:15:46 PM
I mostly gamble for the thrill of it (the adrenaline), and especially when I am bored. Usually I have very good self-control and I only gamble money that I can afford to lose, so I'm fine with any losses that happen and I'm usually pretty quick to cash out any big wins I get. It would certainly be great and possibly life-changing for me if I were to hit a jackpot, but I'm not counting on that and there is obviously a very small chance for that to happen.

Your approach to gambling is 100% correct and more people should follow that example, but the bad thing is that not a lot of people have that kind of self control and after the first big jackpot, they are hooked for life.

Gambling and the adrenaline rush is similar to drug addiction and it can quickly turn on you, if you are inclined to that kind of influence. The comments so far looks fairly good and most people seem to have it under control, but they may lie about it, which is even worst.  Tongue
6648  Economy / Gambling discussion / Why do you gamble? on: June 19, 2019, 12:41:45 PM
This is a simple question, but one with a much deeper meaning.

Have you ever considered the reason behind your gambling habit or in some cases addiction? Do you gamble for fun or do you gamble for potential profit?

Do you gamble because you are bored or because you have some medical condition that prevents you from going out to experience other type of entertainment?

Do you gamble, because you hope that a big jackpot will solve all your debt problems or that a big jackpot would fund your dreams?

We should always consider why we do specific things in life and if those things are constructive or damaging in some way and then evaluate our actions to prevent harmful situations.

Looking forward to your responses.  Cheesy
6649  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My experience after 1 year of buying ICO ! on: June 19, 2019, 12:19:47 PM
I have bought loads tokens from promising ICOs over the years and only about 5% of them lasted for more than 2 years. I think I have been lucky to spot the exit strategy before it actually happens, so I have managed to make a small profit, before it went down.  Tongue

The ICOs with long-term potential are always the ones with the strongest use case and that is the secret behind the success of these tokens. So look for the use case and evaluate it's long-term potential based on how disruptive it can be or how innovative it is.  Undecided
6650  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russian hackers have comitted one of the biggest theft on: June 19, 2019, 12:11:46 PM
The weak software that are being used by some of these exchanges are to be blamed. We have some excellent software developers working on the Bitcoin Blockchain, but the weak point is the third party services with all of the exploits that are being identified daily.

Some of these exchanges also have poor cold storage practices in place, because they have very low liquidity and have to dive into cold storage very frequently to honour withdrawals. I have seen some pretty good hackers from India and other 3rd world nations.  Roll Eyes
6651  Economy / Economics / Re: Is institutional capital good or bad for Bitcoin? on: June 19, 2019, 10:21:17 AM
The debate is still on-going if large investments from institutional firms, would be good or bad for Bitcoin in the long run. Some are saying it will bring more volatility <price manipulation> and others are just happy that the price will probably go to the Moon.

There are also conspiracy theories doing the rounds that these institutions will use their financial powers to destroy Bitcoin. <Buying large quantities and also dumping large quantities>

Some are even saying that the small fish will be eaten by the big sharks. Let's consider the impact of this and how this will change the Bitcoin scene.

Will Bitcoin go 100% commodity & store of value or will it still be used as a currency?

when the price of BTC increases to $ 20k, it is also because these manipulators create it. when the price of BTC drops to $ 3k3, it is also due to these manipulating organizations.
But this was natural. Without them, the value of BTC will not increase as high as now. If the SEC joins and dissolves all of these organizations, I guarantee that there will be lots of traders losing money. simply because when these institutions withdraw capital, it will make the whole market go down because the price of the BTC will drop very sharply.
And no one will want to invest in BTC anymore because basically BTC is not the best coin. The transaction is very slow and the fee is very high.
so we should get used to being manipulated.

The SEC is not going to close the doors of services that adhere to KYC/AML regulations. They might close the services that are not regulated or those companies trading without approval.

There are legal and illegal manipulation in all markets and if you have enough goods or fiat to manipulate the price in your favour, then you will do that, I know maze farmers who are working together to manipulate the price of maze on the market and it is perfectly legal in my country.  Roll Eyes
6652  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Africa needs bitcoin, not a charity on: June 19, 2019, 10:14:33 AM
I travel in Africa a lot for my work and I can tell you that M-Pesa is doing very well there and the people saying that the lack of education will be a stumbling block, would change their mind when they see the younger generation paying with M-Pesa for items in a small Spaza shop.

The problem with M-Pesa is the centralized control and reliance on the cellular companies to facilitate these transactions.  Roll Eyes They need someone to develop hardware that makes BTC micro payment without the need of mobile networks and it should be very cheap to buy and to do tx's on these devices.  Tongue
6653  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Libra VS Bitcoin (2 Coins Enter 1 Coin Leaves????) on: June 19, 2019, 10:04:16 AM
Anything backed by a large existing company with a huge target market will be successful because it has a large network of users and merchants and also the backing of the government, because the government wants that information.

It is a well known fact that Facebook is feeding the US government with people's personal data and now they are adding people's private financial data too, so this will be a valueble asset for the US government.  Tongue

People needs to decide if they want their private financial data to be accessable to the US government and all other agencies that work with them.  Roll Eyes
6654  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin prices skyrocket thanks to Facebook on: June 19, 2019, 09:38:05 AM
Why would a "Private Coin" like StableCoin, bump the Bitcoin price? You know all other Alt coins and GovCoins and Blockchain based technologies are in competition with Bitcoin.... right? Yes, they take capital that could have been invested in Bitcoin away to be invested in those tokens.  Angry

Yes, some people who has never bought any Crypto currencies before, might be sparked to buy other type of coins, once they see the potential gain, but that would only be a very small percentage of the new market.  Roll Eyes
6655  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: CRYPTO EDUCATION FAUCET on: June 18, 2019, 11:10:05 AM
The benefit of combining a faucet with some information and educational exercise is that people would actually get some more from Bitcoin than the fraction of a cent worth of Satoshi that they will get from your faucet.  Wink

I still use Freebitco.in because it is a brilliant site and it offers much more than just being a faucet. We need more faucets with a spin and something that would bring faucets back to it's main purpose, which is the introduction to Bitcoin.

Good luck with the project.  Wink
6656  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-06-15] IRS turning its attention to recreational bitcoin investors on: June 18, 2019, 10:52:57 AM
America are ready to go to war again and wars are expensive, so the IRS must find new ways to fund the war. < We already saw 1000s of soldiers being deployed to the Middle East again >  Roll Eyes

The IRS are helping to fund these wars and the people who thought that they can escape death & taxes, will soon face that reality. I pay my taxes, because I know tax evasion is a criminal offense in my country and I am too busy making money to have to waste my time in jail.  Tongue

Pay the damn taxes and be done with it.  Angry
6657  Economy / Economics / Re: Is institutional capital good or bad for Bitcoin? on: June 18, 2019, 10:32:28 AM
It seems to me that the entry of institutional investors into the cryptocurrency market is definitely a positive sign. This will add liquidity to the market and most likely the price of cryptocurrency will go up, because only big money can move the market up. If we act cautiously and intelligently, then I think that any small investor will also be able to capitalize on this growth, but the main thing is to go at the right time and then exit the market.

That is where you are wrong, because institutional capital will in all likelihood gobble up the small investors after the first huge pump. The temptation to sell at a relatively high price will just be too tempting for many small investors. As the price goes higher and higher more long-term hoarders will start dumping some more coins, until most coins shifted to the super rich investors.  Roll Eyes

We need to see the warning signs when the price suddenly shoot up and people starts to dump the coins and I predict that this might happen after we breached the previous ATH of $18 000+
6658  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who coined the word "cryptocurrency" ... on: June 18, 2019, 09:23:34 AM
Why do you need to know? I think it might be a little bit late to register a trademark on the word, because it is public domain now.  Roll Eyes Yes, you might get some brag rights from this, but that is about it.  Roll Eyes

Imagine going through all that trouble and finding out that you were not the first person to use the word. I once thought I was the first person using a specific word, until I saw it mentioned in a very old youtube video. <You feel like a real jackass, when you realize this for the first time>  Sad

I will create a t-shirt with the words, "I created Cryptocurrencies"  Cool
6659  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thé benefits of bitcoins to the underdeveloped countries. on: June 18, 2019, 09:09:51 AM
I personally think that Bitcoin has a lot to offer 3rd world countries, because most 3rd world countries struggle with high unemployment problems and Bitcoin can be used to pay for micro tasks across borders, which is difficult with many other payment options. <Eg. PayPal & Credit cards....>  Roll Eyes

I also think the lack of advanced communication networks and internet access is a major problem for the full adoption of Bitcoin in most 3rd world countries. Bitcoin is still very difficult to implement in countries with poor education and challenges with poor infrastructure, so it is not going to be a quick transition.  Angry
6660  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency are gonna disappear on: June 18, 2019, 08:59:03 AM
I died laughing with this:

The governments have the guns,” Rogers said. “The crypto people will say they are smarter than the government, and they are – my goodness they’re smarter than the governments. But the government has guns. If the government comes in and says you’re not going to do this anymore, you’re not going to do it whether you like it not.”

But he has forgotten that it is the people who put the small group of people ( called government ) to lead the government... eventually thousands of people around the world will be using bitcoin, so all governments in the world will have no choice... Governments will have to accept bitcoin, Of course there will be laws, as expected. He is a person with a very small brain if he can not see it

This is the little thing that most governments do not get. The government get their guns from money that was collected from taxes and if that dries up then they will be defenceless.  Wink  We see a lot of countries where they misuse their power and the tax paying public starts to emigrate or flee the country and take their taxes with them.  Wink

A government is just as strong as the people supporting them and that will end as soon as they start using their guns. In countries where this has happened, the economy of that country starts to fail. <Other countries boycott them or they implement sanctions.>  Roll Eyes
