How do you perceive Mineable vs Not mineable coins? Does a Mineable coin less likely to be a scam?
Please don't be kidding me, bitcoin is mineable and it's PoW coin. And it's not a scam coin as you said. How does it affects its value?
Depends on the usefulness of the coin itself. Litecoin is also mineable coin and he can be off-chain solution for bitcoin blocksize problem. Does Not Mineable coins have better chances of getting to a higher value? Yes. Do you even consider this as a criteria when analyzing an altcoin? Idea, innovation, and roadmap will much important than it. |

All is possible but as of now, NO. There is a very big gap between the two cryptocurrency. But since Eth contract is popular now, time will come maybe when most Eth Token ICO become successful, their total may surpassed the bitcoin marketcap, still this is a possibility.

The reason behind panic selling is that people lack patience and they get panic when they see price going down and start selling their coins at cheaper price and I think that is the time when we should hold our coins tight and wait for the price to bounce back again but generally people doesn't follow this simple rule.

So the first move this people who lack faith is to sell their holdings the soonest the can. Impatient will also have the effect of panic because if you are patient you will survive and not panic when the price goes down. Knowledge also gives effect. If you have any knowledge of course you know the bitcoin price cycle and want to be patient in holding bitcoin Without patience in trade, there is nothing to do, because these can only create yourself the additional stress and loss of funds. Patience will be very suitable for the longterm investment, In trading and if you're want to short the coin and it just takes a right timing to get on the trade market. And a lot of factors need to be considered before try to take a long-term decision. I think some coin will not worth to be longterm investment especially like EDR and something like that's just a scam coin. |

i also think so, the traction of all the altcoin is lead from bitcoin, it's the increase of bitcoin that brought the recent boom in the value of all the altcoin and more is coming, we might see like the thread starter is thinking, some good old coins take off like feathercoin, they are pumping it once again, you have also machiencoin recent 3x pump I think it is decrease in bitcoin sustainability that causes the boom in altcoin,and bitcoin transaction fees is getting higher so thats why also altcoin are prefer. I dont think so that its the main reason why altcoin booms because of sudden increase of tx fee on bitcoin,there might be a point for some altcoin holders which they do engage with it because of avoiding huge fees but thats not always the case.Having alternatives is always good rather or compared than on having one thing.Its better to have many options incase if there something happen on one. Will the huge traders be avoiding transaction fees worth for a half of dollar? That's very non sense in my mind because they can generate worth thousands dollar from their trading job. But the longest block validation can be the main attention which has made a lot of people try to use off-chain transaction such as altcoin chain, I remember if I can delivered my transaction using ethereum chain or ltc chain just some minutes. |

12 confirmations; however, exchanges and entities handling very large amounts of Ether frequently are still encouraged to run two different Ethereum implementations and only accept transactions that have been confirmed by both for maximum security (e.g. Go & C++). More confirmation by the exchange to keep the secure transaction for his service. |

Poloniex and other exchanges are a business. If the coins dont perform and have limited volume they might not worth the trouble to maintain them in the exchange.
It's fair to replace the coins without a good development with other coins that coin has a good development. Some of the delisted coins have enough volume for a day trade. But the lack of the development has to be the main concern for the poloniex to take a decision for delisted them all. |

It is not totally about education,it needs a lot practice and you have to be constantly looking at the price of bitcoins if you want to be successful trader. it needs advice from the people who are successful in trading and practice makes it a perfect.
First we need the education and information of the coins we want to invest and trade, see their past their past trading history, check their volume at coin market cap, and check the markets it is listed at. All these checks and things will be easy for you once you practice them it can be done for easily with try to see the feedback from the supporters and outside person. As you said if it needs a lot of consideration to take a right decision. But the important thing is about the project, I mean about the idea and roadmap of the project. Hi guys, I'm pretty lost right now because I can't see any altcoin that is worth investing at the moment, besides maybe Monero. They all seem to go up and all look like they will be at ATH soon. So I have 350 eur in Kraken, what would you do? ...wait till there is a breakout at BTC? If you see something I would be happy if you can explain why you think it's worth investing/trading. I watched some videoy on youtube how to make technical analysis but can't see a single altcoin that looking good to jump in at the moment. They are all rising, but I assume they will go down again soon. buhhh...  Trust me if the crypto will become a massive trend for a lot of the people around the world, as you can see every day there will be people joining on crypto. When we are talking about "panic selling" we are thinking about BTC as an investment. Investing in crypto should be done with money that you can afford to lose (don't put your college money on it!  ). Therefore, you can accept temporary losses aiming for a greater valorization in the long run, and there is no need to "panic selling" your asset. Are you trying to consider the panic selling as a part of the investment? Some the words are misleading. Panic selling is not having a relationship with the investment. as far as i know we are seeing it on the crypto trading and not on the investment side. If you already agreed to invest on crypto and it means you have to take a lot of consideration about the risk for investing on crypto. |

I'm completely new to the market, had some BTC years ago but sadly sold it way too early.

The cryptocurrency market is huge now, there are so many coins I never heard of.

Spent the half of it in Dodge coin because the dodge coin price is so small so with just small pump or dump of coin that will have a big impact in the half on my investment with dodge coin besides the dodge coin is one of the most stable coin so It's worth it and low risk to invest with dodge coin. So for me the dodge coin will be the best for trading.
Doge is bad coin, there are better coins rather than doge coin. Golem, RLC, Pivx are the best coin right now. with a lot of demand it can be a good promising investment in the future. But RLC is really cheap right now. Most traders are looking for the volatility and not stable investment. |
