6661  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation expected as high as 4% in Apr in USA on: June 15, 2021, 07:00:48 AM
They aren't used to it because it slowly adjusts a little each year so it's not that noticeable plus if people are noticing it then it can induce panic and unnecessary anxiety.

In my country inflation came under 10% only ~16 years ago and now 2-4% is normal. And these are the official numbers, I believe that the reality is a tad worse.

Raw materials get expensive because production is getting smaller or limited.

That's what I wanted to point out. Yes, the production and transportation got more expensive, especially since that ship was stuck for a while in the Suez channel.
6662  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation expected as high as 4% in Apr in USA on: June 15, 2021, 06:28:02 AM
Yeah, US citizens are no longer used with inflation. Well, things will change now.
On the other hand, I've heard somewhere that various materials for industries (including steel and construction materials too) have become more expensive worldwide lately (start of spring 2021).
6663  Economy / Goods / Re: ~ Buying a TESLA CYBERTRUCK with BITCOIN ~ on: June 15, 2021, 06:22:06 AM
but at least this thread has some hope

They may or may not accept Bitcoin, depending how it suits them best in that very moment.
You may have better chance to buy it from El Salvador, and may also get their citizenship with this  Grin

Now seriously, I surely hope that you'll be able to buy it in the way you want it and also Bitcoin will be much more expensive/valuable til then, so you'll spend less.
(With some luck you'll buy the cybertruck at the price I've bought my laptop some years ago).
6664  Economy / Speculation / Re: So what's causing the current rise? on: June 14, 2021, 02:01:46 PM
What did he tweet this time?

He seems to have been saying that Tesla Will Start Accepting Bitcoin For Payments Again. Of course, the herd didn't read the rest which tells that nothing has changed.

When there’s confirmation of reasonable (~50%) clean energy usage by miners with positive future trend, Tesla will resume allowing Bitcoin transactions.

I did a quick check and I didn't find the tweet though.
6665  Economy / Speculation / Re: So what's causing the current rise? on: June 14, 2021, 01:49:14 PM
BTC went up %13 in one day, as you guys might know. I know what caused it to decline (our troll friend Elon). What's causing it to rise back up?

Some say that it was another tweet from our friend.
Some say it may be Taproot lock in over week-end.
I'd say that the artificial, FUD based downtrend had to end (sooner or later) and it's just about time for that.

It may worth mentioning that the hash rate seems to be recovering too.
6666  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How many would be interested to have a device that encrypt directly what u type? on: June 14, 2021, 01:42:50 PM
a device that can encrypt what you type character after character

Um, I fear that such a device's "encryption" will only create permutations (mix up) of the actual printable characters. And I am not convinced it will work properly with unexpectedly large character sets.
Also, if the hacker expects an user types mostly in a certain language, it won't be too difficult to find the key based on what characters come out most often.

a few different people tried to explained why it won't work for different reasons but OP doesn't understand any of the answers. He is obviously not a developer, and doesn't have a technical background. This is just a wild imagination.

I hope that my explanation is simpler  Grin
And yeah, it won't work, not like that.
6667  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: I think Bitcoin is great as an asset and not as a Currency. on: June 14, 2021, 01:31:42 PM
1. If you make a topic on Bitcoin, but you start with shilling DeFi you already lost credibility.
2. Although right now Bitcoin indeed looks better as an asset, it's undeniable that it can be used as a currency and that direction too has a future that should not be ignored. We certainly can and will continue to have both.
6668  Economy / Speculation / Re: Number of transactions declining in last 2 months. on: June 14, 2021, 12:42:18 PM
I find this normal. The bulk of transactions is related to trading bots. If everybody is waiting for something to happen (i.e. a recovery near the last ATH), the number of transactions cannot be too high.
And there's something else too: centralized exchanges and wallets learned to send in bulk. This means that you may get to maybe 5-10 times less transactions, but fatter ones.
6669  Local / Română (Romanian) / Re: Crypto in Romania, adoptare si impozitare - care este varianta ta ideala ? on: June 14, 2021, 12:11:02 PM

6670  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Big companies finally had enough of the excessive tax on: June 14, 2021, 07:54:07 AM
20%? Is this even real ? Most of the companies not related to gambling pay lower than 10%

It's just a call to make the state/govt look better in the eyes of the voters.
Clearly the pandemic increased the costs for the state. And they have to get the extra money from somewhere. And the common tax payers will feel better if others (the big bad companies) have to pay even more.

But don't worry. The big companies have all they need in order to hide their income in a way they don't have to pay taxes.
I've read that Amazon officially has less than ~6% income officially, since they "invest a lot". Interestingly it's known that most of such companies' income flies away to countries with low/no tax.

I guess that with some ingenuity, the clubs will also find their way to elude this.
6671  Economy / Economics / Re: Amateur Traders Cause Bubbles on: June 14, 2021, 07:29:35 AM
Amateur traders are subject to FUD and make the growth be bigger and the fall deeper. But they are not trend setters and they don't have the power to create bubbles.
My guess would be that certain big players stay unidentified and got wrongly assimilated with the amateurs. But it's only a guess.
6672  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: June 14, 2021, 06:46:45 AM
Eriksen has reportedly can continue his career as football player, so this reason maybe make him retire from football. Of course this is a tough decision for him he is still young enough to be able to continue his career

I also see it as a tough decision.

Continuing his career could be a rather foolish decision; but on another hand he will still have to do sports in order to stay healthy.
And he probably loves his job too  Wink

But like with anything else, he has to decide for himself.
I'd add that probably he has contracts still running and may be difficult to just stop; so the real decision may happen only after those contracts end.
6673  Economy / Speculation / Re: The calm before the storm? on: June 14, 2021, 06:28:14 AM
What a difference 24 hour can make. Yesterday I made a post here saying that things are not looking good and most likely we will retest $30K and break then. And we are almost at $40K right now.

It was week-end and imho the movements from week-ends are not to be trusted.
It's interesting that it already goes up though, since lately Mondays were coming with price decreases more often than growths.

This is not first time Bitcoin trying to penetrate $40K wall, yet incapable to do.

Yet, it's very close to that level.

I won't definitely say it'll go in this or that direction. I just don't know now what to expect on short term. One week ago I thought/hoped that we'll be past 45k by now. I guess that we just need a bit more patience.
6674  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: June 13, 2021, 09:32:55 PM
It was a spectacular game, imho the best second half and Ukraine was an interesting surprise, in a good way. (So maybe not the best game, but certainly the best second half.)
The changes Netherlands made, when the two youngsters were introduced, was something very close to a costly mistake.
6675  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: June 13, 2021, 08:33:57 PM
but i do not think ukraine performance is worse than turkey because turkey were unable to do even one shot at goal but ukraine did a good first half they created some chances but i do not know what happened in the second half they lost focus early in the gameand conceided two goals.

Well, they proved me wrong. Impressive. Makes things even more interesting.
2-1

omg
2-2
6676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: June 13, 2021, 08:16:16 PM
2-0 for The Netherlands
Ukraine looks worse than Turkey did...
6677  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: June 13, 2021, 06:04:23 PM
The Austria-North Macedonia match is balanced.

North Macedonia coach made the same mistake as Turkey's coach: when the game was this balanced getting out defenders seems not to be a great idea.
6678  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Yunnan Provincial Energy Authority Disables Miners on: June 13, 2021, 12:29:09 PM
The hash rate went down 178 EH/s (9 Jun) to under 110 EH/s (10 Jun) and it started fluctuating between 110 and 140 EH/s.
I guess that if they would have been supposed to be down, the hash rate wouldn't grow back this fast.
These fluctuations seem more consistent to hardware upgrades people were talking about on another thread.
6679  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Say the Binance CEO? on: June 13, 2021, 12:20:47 PM
He said, Money is still money

I don't want to be harsh, especially after your nice words (thank you!), but you clearly have to learn more.
One problem on this forum (and this world, actually) is plagiarism. It's (obviously) against the rules.
To avoid this, please get used to point (clearly) the source of the words you quoting.

At least you should include the link of the site you read the news, or maybe on Twitter or any social platform, try to include the link.

Binance CEO is communicating mostly on Twitter, so here's the full quote and also the link for it.
I hope it also absolves OP  Smiley

A message is still a message, but the technology for transferring it has improved over time.

Money is still money, but the technology for transferring it is improving.
6680  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how did government retrieve ransomware bitcoin? on: June 13, 2021, 11:48:25 AM
I first thought that they've intercepted communication. But afterwards I've read one post that made quite a lot of sense too:

The FBI recovered the private keys from a seized server. In other words, the group was INCREDIBLY sloppy with their keys and this resulted in the FBI gaining access to their wallets.

And if this is the case, sorry, I don't feel sorry for them.

Actually, I don't feel sorry for them for multiple reasons:
* ransomware is extrotion and that's not OK
* they've used Bitcoin
* they were sloppy and made it easy for govt get the funds back, making Bitcoin look weak in the eyes of those not understanding it
