6661  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trying to make a commitment to go the distance on: February 01, 2016, 12:37:10 PM
there is not safe way when it comes to investing money and it becomes worse when it is investing bitcoin since it offers anonymity too. this little fact opens up a lot of room for scammers so all those investment plans that you see are dangerous.
the only way that i have found to be good, is trading. because it is on you to decide when to to buy and sell although it is not risk free, i find it better than other ways.
6662  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you earn a lot of free bitcoins fast? on: February 01, 2016, 12:25:02 PM
One good think I would do if I had the money is to sell useless stuff and buy all in bitcoin, since, with both the hardfork and the halving, price is expected to increase.

i agree with you on halving and the effect it can have on the price in the sense that it will shoot it up, but at the same time this hardfork business is scaring me and it can at least negate the effect that we are expecting from halving!
6663  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe that Satoshi is still active on Bitcointalk.org? on: February 01, 2016, 12:21:33 PM
i don't think so, satoshi might be still at work as a contributor to bitcoin but i don't think he would come to the forum anymore and use an alias (since his account has not been active). if he comes here he would use his original account.
6664  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: selling game accounts for BTC ? on: January 31, 2016, 11:20:17 AM
have you considered xapo store, i think they offer games etc - https://world.xapo.com

ntil later

They are offer games mostly found in Steam and Origin or other websites , what I want is a website where we could sell and buy between users . (game accounts and not gifts etc ... )

if you want to pay and get paid in bitcoin, this forum is the best place you could find for it. in the digital goods section there are users who already selling accounts like steam, etc.
also you might even find subs on reddit that do the similar thing, but you have to search.
6665  Economy / Speculation / Re: Boring market with no strong movements during Chinese holidays on: January 31, 2016, 08:21:27 AM
I think the bitcoin market will be so boring in the next days with slow price movements because of the upcoming Chinese holidays.
What do you think about these holidays and how it will affect the btc price ?

very interesting speculation. i think it most probably will effect the market. on the other hand chinese were mostly active in the altcoin market and not so much in bitcoin markets.

we have wait and see, anything is possible in bitcoin market!
6666  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why "bitcoins" out of all the altneratives (alt, lite, prime)? on: January 31, 2016, 08:16:36 AM
altcoins are clones with extra features. but these extra features despite being interesting an seemingly useful, in fact they could not attract investors and people to use them as much as they use bitcoin.
6667  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why you mostly like bitcoin compare to other digital currency? on: January 30, 2016, 12:24:11 PM
i heard many Cryptocurrency but why people mostly use bitcoin?

because was the first crypto over here, more of alt-coins was scam so people fell more confortable using bitcoin

it is mostly because of the price and price change that people are drawn to bitcoin. and not to mention it was (not the first crypto) but first crytocurrency to become big in the history. on top of that bitcoin has the biggest market cap of all cryptos.
6668  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Spread the Bitcoin on: January 30, 2016, 12:14:32 PM
1. Download the zip or rar for a Desktop Bitcoin Wallet or zip one up yourself.
2. Email 100 people with a message about Bitcoin and the Wallet files.
3.  In the email give links to information about Bitcoin, some for the absolute newbie and some more technical.
4. Explain how they can get started.  Rather than talk about mining or faucets or whatever, tell them how you have used and gotten Bitcoins.
5.  Tell them that whether they use the system or not to pass the email on to another 100 people.

this is not a good idea, and most probably not gonna work.
1,2. if you mean an empty wallet installer then what is the point of me downloading it and not simply giving the direct link. and sending 100 people a zip file, i am gonna be in 100 different blocklist.
3,4. they are not going to read the rest if they see the attachment and even they do they think i am planning on scamming them.
5. this is the worst one, nobody likes these chain emails. they are for like 15 years ago and not even favorable back then.

p.s. you should do this for people who you know and you should introduce them to something like coinbase where they can buy/sell/store and do all other good stuff in one place then tell them about a wallet.
6669  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: What are the benefits of a Xapo Wallet? on: January 30, 2016, 12:00:38 PM
Only two advantages that I know of,

1. They pay your transaction fees, which are obviously not much of a difference if you are rich, but if you make your money from faucets, a normal TX fee is about a day of work.

2. Faucets pay into your wallet instantly.
That is correct. But these features are goo only if you are bitcoin newbie and faucet sucker.
A real feature is Xapo Debit Card - your wallet is linked to a XAPO debit card, allowing for easy use of bitcoin everywhere in day-to-day life.
Personally I would not use it because I find their fees a little too much, but others might find it fine.

i have never liked these Debit cards, my reason is that bitcoin was created to eliminate the third parties for using your money which means you do it on your own by having a wallet and sending the bitcoin peer-to-peer but by using the card you are again relying on a third party just like a bank and have to pay their fee too.
6670  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New Hampshire says "no" to Bitcoin tax payments. on: January 30, 2016, 11:37:50 AM
it is awesome to see that such thing is even being discussed and even get that much vote. in my opinion it shows that bitcoin is moving forward and everybody is thinking about using it. but it will take time until it really gets accepted massively.
6671  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ...and THIS is why I prefer to use Bitcoin. on: January 30, 2016, 11:26:08 AM
Wendy's was just hacked and the hackers made off with an unknown number of credit cards. But noooo, Bitcoin is the preferred currency of criminal financial activity, amirite?

credit cards are being hacked left and right on daily basis.
credit card fraud is the worst they steal the information and identity and use it for their own and you are left with the debt and the pain in the ass to prove it is not you.
6672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a manipulated coin? on: January 30, 2016, 11:12:53 AM
Of course we all just love this kind of manipulations..
If all this madness stops we will use bitcoin like money but never more like investment..
But when will stop? I think never. Roll Eyes

of course we all love the manipulations as long as we are on the winning side and not watching our investment go cheaper and cheaper. you would curse manipulators if you lose a cent, just look at altcoin section and you'll see.

also about the stop part, i gotta say i believe that it is going to get better eventually and the huge rise/falls are going to become small changes in the market.
6673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ever dreamed about Bitcoin? on: January 30, 2016, 11:07:30 AM
I have had several dreams about Bitcoin where the price was over the $1000 level again. Only...... When you wake up you look at the exchange prices and you still see the price around $400. Cheesy
it is a dream, you just wait until that dream come true. but I am very confident any time the price will go to $ 1,000 .

history have proven that $1000 price is achievable for bitcoin. i don't know if we can reach it soon though, but it is definitely a strong possibility. those unreal prices that you sometimes see around the forum and on some speculation sites like 10k is a dream.
6674  Economy / Economics / Re: Bank of Japan institutes negative interest rates on: January 30, 2016, 11:03:39 AM
Wow can they do that? I mean suppose you got a big savings account there, then all of a sudden you have pay big time fees?
This don't sounds fair to me?

they are most likely not going to have to pay anything on their balance.

Worst case it would be 0.1% per year which is almost nothing.

well it depend on the amount, if i have 1M sitting o the bank, 0.1% is quite a big amount(1k per year)

maybe that my retirement and i need to pay to the 1k per year for nothing, why? utterly stupid, i would remove all my funds from their bank

nobody who has 1 mil is going to let it sit in the bank. there are a lot of businesses that people can start with 1 mil and earn way more than 0.1% annually.
6675  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How many bitcoins do you have to sell to make a living? on: January 30, 2016, 10:50:14 AM
I usually sell 1BTC every month to meet the needs of my life. This very enough, because I am still single Smiley
The more important fact is your whereabouts. In some countries 1BTC is a LOT of money but rich EU countries or USA it is not that much.
I think this question needs to be answered individually by every person who wants to trade bitcoin/cryptocurrencies.
And of course you can live from it, I know people who are earning that way, but that is not your standard office job, more like a gambling - but with potentially lower risks.
yes 1 BTC/month in some Asian countries I thought it was very enough, do not have a high cost of living like in europe.

You are right, I live in India and it's very easy to survive if I spend BTC1 a month everytime...
But sometimes, inflation increases a lot due to which it is not possible to decide that what amount do we actually need in order to live on BTC...
despite being married 1 BTC is still quite alive in asia. yes it all depends on us, if we are smart to manage money 1 BTC/month can be enough Smiley

it depends on where you live and how much is the cost of life in that place. in some big cities of some countries 1BTC/month is not enough for living no matter if you manage it smart or not. add to that factors like mortgage payment or student loans,... then even 2BTC is not going to be enough.
6676  Economy / Speculation / Re: Current Sentiment Poll on: January 29, 2016, 06:11:21 PM
i think price is going to be totally reliant on how the block size debate ends. it might even negate the halving effect to some extent.

Wow a kwuckduck vote already, wonder if that was from the actual kwuckduck?

kwuck is always ducking around here from the beginning of the time. Cheesy
6677  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: when Blockchain.info asks you for 2FA ? on: January 29, 2016, 05:42:04 PM
i have never heard this before.
i use blockchain.info too and i have 2fa enabled and it "ALWAYS" asks me for entering the code in addition to my password.

if you have 2fa enabled and only receive the code "sometimes" you should contact support immediately

ID & password are kinda saved or something , Let's say I visited the website now and entered , they sent me 2FA and I connected without any issues .
after 4 hours , I decide to connect , I will find my ID & password already filled and when I click "Login" it just login and don't send anything to my phone .

the wallet identifier (id) and your password is saved in your browser, you can see/remove them if you want in options > look for saved password (usually under security or similar)

the second time login without 2fa (90% sure) is normal since you are using the same browser (which has cookies stored) and same IP
6678  Economy / Gambling / Re: WIN strategy for binary options - FREE! on: January 29, 2016, 05:14:18 PM
when someone is looking to start binary options he should think about beating it without martinagle
so people should start studying the charts instead of thinking about martinagle and try learning the market
if you have no idea what you are doing in binary options this would be a catastrophe , betting on dice is better than using martinagle on binary options if you don't know what you are doing

that is the first thing that came to my mind as i read the strategy. it is not the conventional betting on pure chance. you should study the market and try to speculate and win that way. using martingale is not going to work even if you change it from up to down and vice versa.
6679  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to stay away from gambling? suggestions ? on: January 29, 2016, 05:01:56 PM
Well if you can't control your gambling addiction what you can do instead is find another addiction that is less life threatening like being a smoker or addicted to video games.
how if addiction to video porn. is now im doing this  Huh

I think its not so smart to change one addiction with another. There is so many nice things around us.
Gambling can ruin people's life, pornography can make people emotionally retarded. Every addiction can make chaos in someone's life, so keep it under control.

No, I could say that change other addiction is good too because like gambling and drugs is too risky to be addicted, if you change to something like may be gaming or anything it wont cost you as much as gambling so it will be loss cost of money for sure. This can be one of a kind thing that should change the addiction but do you believe you can change that? Because addicted people can't be distracted with other things easily

i strongly disagree.
if someone has an addictive personality it would make him predisposed to developing all kinds of addictions. so changing it to another addiction is not going to help, it can only get worse.
also i have to add that addiction to anything (like gaming that you mentioned) can be harmful too. and such person should seek professional help IMO.
6680  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's stopping people from using bitcoin? on: January 29, 2016, 04:54:03 PM
knowledge barrier is one of the reason, most people afraid to try something that they dont know, especially if it involves money

can you blame this way of thinking though?!
in my opinion it is only rational to use something like bitcoin carefully. because first of all you should handle everything, your wallet-your money-your security-spending it,.... and on top of that the price is always moving you can have a lot of money one day and have nothing the next.
that is why i think most people are afraid or at least think twice before using bitcoin.
