6661  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Kell Brook vs Terence Crawford November 14 on: November 15, 2020, 01:27:56 PM
Many people thought Brook would put up more of a fight. I always felt it was wishful thinking and I was proven right. Crawford is one of the best finishers there is and Brook is unfortunately past his best years.

I though Brook, being a former world champion would stand in front of Crawford until the last round but i'm wrong hehehe. Betting for Crawford via knockout @1.3 was not worth the risk while @3.2 via unanimous decision is tempting so no regret for my bet and always do the same with that kind of fight.

Yeah, but once he has caught by Crawford, I don't know it looks like he quit. But after the fight he said that he didn't see the punch. But he made no excuses, and Crawford proved his doubters wrong again. Also Arum said that he is willing to set up a fight with Spence anytime. So I guess we have to wait. Don't worry mate, we are going to bounce back next time.  Smiley
6662  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price to reach $17k? on: November 14, 2020, 11:00:40 PM
For now , the bull orders control the market so I would not be surprise to reach the 17k$ market or even 17.5k$ before making a correction back to 15k$ and from then it's hard to guess what will happen  as December was always a tricky month for Bitcoin with bulls and bears fighting for market control. For now , the ride looks awesome if you're board it , but if you're not, you're like me , waiting for the correction to get in.
I am also having the same expectation and expecting a market correction pretty soon as i did not expect the market to rally this fast and i am hoping that we will see some minor correction by December or during New Year's week and that is usually how the market behaves in the past but with institutional investors investing heavily whenever the market goes down i have a doubt whether things will be different this time.

But we just had a correction from $16,500 to below $16k, so that $17k won't happen for now. And I believed if the rally continues, we might go as high as $18k but it didn't as another roadblock has hit at $16,500, another big mental barrier that we need to overcome. So we don't know how low can it go with this market correction, perhaps we will go back to $15,500 before another leg up.
6663  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Chainalysis Launches Asset Realization Program on: November 14, 2020, 10:35:48 PM
I'm not surprised though that Chainalysis is helping the government track everything, and that's why they got that $625k bounty from IRS to developed a tool to crack down Monero transactions. But I still take everything with a grain of salt here, because I doubt that this program will just target cyber actors, everyone here is a target, regardless if you are an average joe trader or some hot shot traders or criminals.
6664  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Belarusbank will launch a legal service for the exchange of cryptocurrencies on: November 14, 2020, 10:05:19 PM
It's probably just a move to show that they 'legally' allow their customers to use the bank account for cryptocurrency-related activities, hence why they charged money. In the end, it's just to get more money.

Yes, it gives me a chuckle to see they used the word 'legally', lol, it crypto illegal in Belarus? I thought they are just friendly and welcoming to crypto? In any case though, nothing to lose here, if they used Belarushbank to acquire crypto then fees are definitely charge to customers. You can acquire crypto and then hope that you will get a decent profit to cover those fees and expenses.
6665  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Nordine Oubaali vs. Nonito Donaire - December 12 on: November 14, 2020, 09:42:12 PM
Update on this fight, Oubaalii is out, Emmanuel Rodriguez.

And what happens to Oubaalii? positive for Covid-19,

Quote
Nordine Oubaali has dropped out of a bantamweight world title defense against mandatory challenger and four-division champion Nonito Donaire because he is ill with Covid-19, not because he had issues securing a visa to travel from his native France to the United States.

BoxingScene.com reported Thursday that visa issues caused Oubaali to withdraw from the Donaire fight, but contracting COVID-19 has prevented him from training recently.

“Oubaali is positive for Covid-19. That is why he is out of the fight. It has nothing to do with his visa,” Bob Yalen, the CEO of Oubaali adviser MTK Global, told BoxingScene on Friday. “This is strictly for the health and safety of the boxer. He has the virus and he has not been able to train effectively for the past two weeks. Nordine was really excited about the fight. He was all fired up for the fight.”

https://www.boxingscene.com/oubaali-out-donaire-fight-he-covid-19-says-adviser--153232

I guess the OP needs to update the thread will Rodriguez vs Donaire now. No need to create a separate thread though, it's good enough for boxing fans to see Donaire fight another boxer and then continue with the discussion.  Smiley fight also reset to Dec. 19.
6666  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does China FUD matter anymore? on: November 14, 2020, 09:19:06 PM
It depends on what cycle we have, right now we are in the bullish sentiments, so no matter what negative news we got not just coming from China, it doesn't matter and it doesn't affect the price negatively. And I guess the market and the investors mature already, if this is 2017, I'm sure that those kind of news will have a dent in the market as soon as it is released to the public. But not today, we have come along way that we just shrugged it off, rolling our eyes over, but that's it.

A good test case is the $1 Billion in Bitcoin Moved, Making It the Largest Dollar Value Crypto Transaction in History. Damn, if that coin moves in 2017, and then later on we know that US files a civil action to that hackers to forfeit and seize? I wouldn't be surprised if the price nose dive to -30% or more following that news.
6667  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Philippines Allows Land-Based Casinos to Accept Bets Online on: November 13, 2020, 11:45:41 PM
They gotta keep tge business open so there's that. Although this may cause some trsut issues between the customers and the management because as far as I have heard, the games will be done thru live shows, and they will be closing out those that need humans to be operated so there's this degree of cheating that the bettors are afraid of. Unless they can reassure people that they are doing clean business, they should be good.

Solaire Casino is highly regulated. Don't compare it to average physical casinos. The biggest gambling casino place in the whole PH country.

I doubt a cheat will happen on live shows.

They will just ruined their big reputation if they will do dirty tactics on their online betting.

I agree, those casinos mentioned are being operated by other casino magnate in China and in the US so there's no question about trust here. For example, there is a City of Dreams in Macau,

So they won't simply make a mistakes that will ruin everything for them, just saying. This is a multi billion industry, if this is just a fly by night then probably, but there are huge and very powerful people investors behind this big casinos in the Philippines.

6669  Economy / Speculation / Re: The influx of organizations towards bitcoin on: November 13, 2020, 10:50:28 PM
Sudden? I don't see it that way, it is still a normal spike if we are going to compare to previous runs we have in the past. It is not a run similar to a massive spike in 2017, but it is not that slow pace as well. So I would say this is just normal regardless of who are going to be the next sitting President or whether Pfizer experiment on covid-19 vaccine is a success. The $16k or more price increase has nothing to do with those news. People are just extremely bullish as greed index reaches almost 90% as well.

LOL to this. I don't know how others would see it but I guess privacy is more apt as a partner of safety and security than surveillance. Withholding personal information sounds a lot safer and secure to me than divulging them to third parties.

Why are customers always used as an alibi? Why can't they just be honest and say, "we are implementing this on behalf of the government."  Grin

It's because they will take a lot of heat from their customers,  Smiley so they have to do it a subtle way by making this "protect their customers", blah blah blah.

But we can smell than from afar isn't it, this is just an excuse and we all know that governments and regulatory bodies are putting a lot of pressures to these exchanges so they better comply to continue their business.
6671  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Kell Brook vs Terence Crawford November 14 on: November 13, 2020, 09:55:06 PM
Here's some words from Kell Brook:

Quote
“I think you’d have to put this one up there,” Brook said when asked how big a win would be. “Because of what I’ve been through and because everybody is writing me off. Nobody is giving me a chance in this fight.

“Look at Joe Calzaghe against Jeff Lacy. That’s one performance that springs to mind for me. How Joe went out and dominated that fight. That’s what I'm looking for.

“This guy is arguably the best fighter in the world. Me not making welterweight for so many years, I’ve had my eyes injuries and my losses, everybody is saying I’m washed up. So for me to go out there and to put the performance on that’s needed to capture that world title, I think you'd have to put that right up there. You’ve got to.”

https://www.boxingscene.com/kell-brook-motivated-calzaghe-lacy-job-on-crawford--153219

He felt very confident that he can pull an "Teo Lopez" upset here, so we will see. hehehe

@Kasabus - yeah, probably Teo Lopez started this whole upset thingy this year but a underdog like Brook is worth to put a bet, even at half a stake.  Smiley
6672  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant Super Middleweight Title on: November 13, 2020, 09:32:11 PM
I think it will be an upgrade if Callum Smith will be the opponent of Canelo instead of Caleb Plant. Smith has a good left hook and I would say has more power than Caleb so it will be a good match for Canelo and is very tall as well. So let's see, but I do agree, Canelo will take over in the middle rounds and maybe go for the knock out.

Through integrating the Eventus Validus technology into our existing trade surveillance and AML processes, we will be able to more efficiently screen out bad actors and increase proactive monitoring for unauthorised trading activity on the BitMEX platform.

This is to be expected though, exchanges today, specially top tier or who have established itself to enforce this kind of surveillance because of regulatory pressures.

6674  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A Post-COVID World Powered By Blockchain Technology on: November 12, 2020, 10:06:18 PM
Have you ever wondered what our world will look like after the demise of COVID-19? As we enter an era where the mainstream economy becomes "digitized", Blockchain technology will be at the forefront of innovation. From keeping track of the supply chain, to proving ownership, Blockchain will be finally integrated in our daily lives. Already, we're seeing a boom in demand for decentralized cryptocurrencies. Banks have announced they'll launch CBDCs of their own, enabling a truly cashless society in the not-so-distant future.

I have been imagining that this kind of set up will eventually happen though, with or without the COVID-19. I mean there are already countries in Europe who are going cashless for years now with their credit and debit cards so it is just a matter of time. But with the COVID-19 scenario, really accelerate everything. Supply chain, logistics are also experimenting with blockchain technology, Banks to help them get rid of paper trails. And so with the 'new norm', the technology was put into spotlight pushing it at a rapid pace that no one expects because of the effect of COVID-19. But it's good in the long term though, private and public sectors really need to take advantage of blockchain technology to help them specially those who are processing tons of data and make their business decision base on it.

6675  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin break its previous ATH record of 20K before end of 2020? on: November 12, 2020, 09:28:46 PM
The price on Dec 27, 2016 was $960. This represents a 15% loss from the high of $1171.

Applying the same rate of loss to the $19891 high, we get prices around $17,000 for the end of 2020. A more specific range would isolate prices to likely between $16,500 and $17,500.

Or $20K?  Grin

Right now it's really hard to see where the price is going before the end of this year. Too much speculation and news affecting the market, positive news that will push the price to even greater heights. No one expects the price to be in this level as this point, so who knows, maybe $20k in 2020 is possible because it surely did kick another FOMO upon reaching $16k, the price we haven't seen since 2017, if my memory serves me right.

In order to gain SLP you need to do daily quests and win PVP’s. Ang gusto ko sa game player ang nagdedekta ng economy since walang premine tokens at kung matalo ka man sa laro walang mawawala sayo, see it for yourself guys so far number 1 siya sa play to earn blockchain games ngayon.

Nice, at least we have a resident player here sa community. Hindi ko parin natutukan ko pero base sa experience mo, posible naman talaga na kumita at mabalik ang investment in just a short amount of time. So the game is evolving as well, kung may makitang na exploit sila, ginagawan ng aksyon katulad ng unli pvp dati.

Wilder Taking Fury To Mediation in Attempt To Force a Third Fight

Quote
Former heavyweight world titlist Deontay Wilder is taking world champion Tyson Fury to mediation in an effort to force what Wilder’s team believes is his contractual right to a third fight with Fury next, Wilder co-manager Shelly Finkel told BoxingScene on Tuesday.

Finkel said their contract calls for mediation to resolve any differences and if that does not work the issue would go to binding arbitration.

“In our contract, if there is a dispute it goes to mediation and that’s what’s going to happen,” Finkel said. “And (then) binding arbitration if mediation is unsuccessful.”

He said the mediation “should begin” this week but declined to say exactly when the video conference with representatives from the Fury side and the mediator would take place.

https://www.boxingscene.com/wilder-taking-fury-mediation-attempt-force-third-fight--153168

So now Wilder is chasing Fury for the trilogy, huh? I don't he doesn't want none of Fury, but it seems his team are going to a third party mediation to make the fight happen. So let's just wait for this mediation, everyone is hoping for the trilogy, but it won't happen this year for sure.
6679  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rollover betting challenge system by Lordhermes on: November 10, 2020, 11:42:25 PM
Betting made 15 days in a row with consecutive wins? This isnt something that you can see on everyday and heck 10 bucks to 2900+ in 15 days is hell of a good profit.

For me its better to secure out those winnings yet i cant afford to lose $1000 on a single bet yet 1.5 odds doesnt mean a win from time to time but well its your money
though and it would be good if you do place or show up some betslip on this one and might be followed by others.

I made myself this kind of challenge myself, but when I have around $1k from a small bet, I have to stop, don't want to take the risk to go for higher returns, as I'm satisfied with my winnings already. I would say that I already play conservative that time. So to the OP, good for you and I wish you all the luck in this run. It really feels good to see your bankroll growing, but in any case, there's also that one chance that you might hit that wall.  Smiley
6680  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC $100K-288K before Dec2021 ? on: November 10, 2020, 11:21:22 PM
So many prediction I've seen for couple of years but no one of them got any accurate prediction on what will happen to the price in future. I believe we should believe that predictions or insights given since for sure they want to create hype and do that for their own personal gain so we should be careful guys since I think those guys are manipulators.

And I will quote it from his medium post:

Quote
People ask me where all the money needed for $1trn bitcoin market value would come from? My answer: silver, gold, countries with negative interest rate (Europe, Japan, US soon), countries with predatory governments (Venezuela, China, Iran, Turkey etc), billionaires and millionaires hedging against quantitative easing (QE), and institutional investors discovering the best performing asset of last 10 yrs.

Scary prediction, but it seems that we have seen it already, specially institutional investors like Grayscale and then millionaires and billionaires changing their tune and hedging their wealth to bitcoin. So we will see if the s2f model will take its shape in the future.
