6681  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🚀 [ANN][TWIST] TWIST : Revolutionising Blockchain Accessibility 🚀 on: October 27, 2018, 02:50:31 AM
Looks like exit scam confirmed.

Devs have deleted their accounts from Telegram chat, no longer post or respond in Discord or in here, and there was massive dumping of tokens that they airdropped to themselves (dev wallet was a decoy)

I just checked Twist telegram accounts (community chat + for announcements). Twist admin's account is intact, plus new mod has been hired too it seems.

6682  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Bitcoin is a security, a currency or a commodity? on: October 26, 2018, 02:44:40 AM
Depends on individual. For holders, it is an asset. For traders, it is an commodity and for those who use it for transfers it is a currency.
6683  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🚀 [ANN][TWIST] TWIST : Revolutionising Blockchain Accessibility 🚀 on: October 26, 2018, 02:39:52 AM
Well me and my dozen crypto investing friends don’t know about coming developments because none of us use discord, only Telegram, and the Twist team barely ever post in Telegram.

I can get Miss Altcoin (170k) Twitter followers to start tweeting about Twist, she just needs payment proposal from the Twist team.

They do post major updates on telegram, they have two channels one is read only and other general chat.

You can also check their website, roadmap gets updated after every milestone achivement.
6684  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unocoin one of the largest exchange in india plan to launch Crypto ATM in india. on: October 25, 2018, 03:58:18 AM
for what its worth, this arrest has not been so much about an "illegal bitcoin ATM" but more because of it being an "illegal ATM". of course it being used for bitcoin must have increased the tension and obviously the drama about it but in reality it was an illegal ATM that they placed without any kind of license which is why the arrest of the co-founder took place.

'Illegal Bitcoin ATM' was mainstream media's headline and it wasn't true.

That ATM/Kiosk didn't dealt with Bitcoin, it was just a medium to withdraw/deposit INR from individual's Unocoin account.
6685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🚀 [ANN][TWIST] TWIST : Revolutionising Blockchain Accessibility 🚀 on: October 25, 2018, 03:48:56 AM
Twist is definitely cheap.

To reach a new level the team needs to reveal themselves, and someone needs to explain why and how the project is special.

Why is storing data and passwords on Blockchain going to get us to top 100%?

I know there is a lot more to TWIST than storing and transferring data but that’s what potential investors see as they glance briefly at TWIST.

Why is TWIST superior to say INXT or FileCoin?

There is (will be) master nodes, twist chat, twist ID's + twist data, and they said there will be new developments as project pogresses.

6686  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have bitcoin coming to my waves wallet for some reason on: October 24, 2018, 03:18:48 AM
So, here is a record from LATEST TRANSACTIONS in my waves wallet at https://waveswallet.io/
Date: 10/22/2018
Type: Incoming Mass Payment
NAME:   Bitcoin
RECIPIENT:   n/a
FEE:   0.051 WAVES
UNITS:   0.00011680

However, when I go to my portfolio in the same wallet, it shows 0.0000408 bitcoin.
How come my total bitcoin is less than what is arriving?
I dont where the bitcoin is coming from.
Waves is an altcoin right? So it's not really Bitcoin it's someone naming that transaction as Bitcoin? If the waves wallet doesn't have a Bitcoin receiving address it can't receive it, it's an entirely different coin.

It's like ethereum, where you can build tokens upon it. So op probably received token named Bitcoin.
6687  Economy / Exchanges / Re: DECENTRALIZED EXCHANGES: why we need decentralization? on: October 24, 2018, 03:06:34 AM
Centralized exchanges take too much fees and community based projects do not have much funds to spare so they kinda never get the attention they deserve. Secondly, decentralized exchanges have more security compared to centralized ones.
6688  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🚀 [ANN][TWIST] TWIST : Revolutionising Blockchain Accessibility 🚀 on: October 24, 2018, 03:00:06 AM
There has been quite some FUD lately among the Twist community, and it's quite understandable, given the sharp drop. What has most likely happened, a whale multi-account airdrop receiver has dumped all his coins and tanked the price due to the low volume. This has started a chain-reaction of terror among all weak hands who have then dumped their bags tanking the price further. Meanwhile, strong hands have started to buy all those dumps, and for sure several new mega-whales have been born. The good news is that finally we have seen Twist piling up some real volume. And that at these ridiculously low prices many buyers have popped up.

Indeed. $1k USD could take you to top 100 rich list. If twist lives these $1k might give holders unfathomable profits.
6689  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buy and sell in India on: October 23, 2018, 03:33:39 AM
A new atm for Bitcoin in India is launched recently gives me a boost that this would be the future for young generation.
I want to start investing and trading-But don't know where to begin from.
Thanks in advance
You can check out some of ICO's real evaluation sites before making some investments.

I would't recommend ICOs, have been in some ICOs they are now trading at far below sale price.
6690  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wallet safety? on: October 23, 2018, 03:16:39 AM
In the PC world I tend to backup and move files from old machine to new machine every few years and hopefully before the hard drive dies.

Does anyone have any idea what kind of lifetime the hardware wallets are going to have? Are we going to have a good transition method 2/3/4/5 years from now?

A piece of paper in the safety deposit box still looks good to me.

Hardware wallets are in existence couple year from now, so we don't know yet about their lifetime  Grin

Btw it's seed that all matters.
6691  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🚀 [ANN][TWIST] TWIST : Revolutionising Blockchain Accessibility 🚀 on: October 22, 2018, 12:16:15 PM
Devs have stopped posting in Telegram room, and are no longer viewing private messages from me. Not looking good. They never revealed identities - now I think I know why.

Can you try in discord? Mod is pretty active there, and tag devs too just to be sure if they reply or not lol

Dev funds are intact so am not really sure what to consider.
6692  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain or Banks: Which has a Better Security for Financial Transactions? on: October 22, 2018, 03:25:45 AM
In Blockchain, if you mistakenly send your transaction to other party than the intended one then you are on sole mercy of that party to return your funds. Here, even though you know where funds went but still can't do thing about it.

On the other hand, with banks you can complain about transaction and reversal can be processed.

6694  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ACC] [PoS Token Standard] Accelerator on: October 21, 2018, 05:19:40 PM
ACC token it seems good coin to me but price still very cheap. Can we still stake our tokens or not? i have just few on my MEW wallet .

Yes you can stake and will be able to stake as long as ACC lives.

Acc don't have much volume so even just few low sell orders makes it fall hard.
6695  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does it even matter if governments and banks accept cryptocurrency? on: October 21, 2018, 03:11:05 AM
There is buzz about the prospective of governments and banks accepting crypto or creating their own for its mass acceptance.

I don't think this is even worth acknowledging, as all of the present and future innovations are going to come from the private sector. Governments are just responsible for damage control, do a God-awful job for the most part and have never achieved true democracy.

In the past, people relied on governments and banks not because they're "governments" or "banks," but because they provided security.

Once AI, blockchain, and improved means to use crypto provide even better security than governments and banks ever could, whatever they do will be irrelevant.

If ever crypto gets green chit from worldwide governments, it will bring masses in. But, if they are against it, it will be pretty hard nut to crack..
6696  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: btc transferred on: October 21, 2018, 03:06:03 AM
Whatever purpose those transfers would have made for, we can just worry, "what if those funds are used for market manipulation?" — well even if this the reason. We can't do anything about it.

It's manipulation all along. Those with money control the market.
6697  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GEMERA ~ ✅💎💠 The Only Crypto-Token Backed by Colombian Emeralds 💠💎✅ on: October 20, 2018, 08:34:55 AM
Tell me why the subscription company tables are not updated? Already three weeks everything is in place, maybe the conditions have changed or the company has ended and I do not know ...
This company is not over. If there is no change, then the ICO will end in December.
I checked you. You have steaks for two weeks. But if you have questions about this, then it’s best to ask it in the bounty thread, or PM. Sylon is very active there.

The ICO will end in December, a long time, but it seems that GEMERA is going well and this certainly has the support of various groups. Is there a better development or is there an interesting event to increase investor interest?
I want to know how much the project has called? Because I see huge potential from this project. If supported by governments, this would certainly be the best ecosystem project and many large investment funds would be involved in this great project if they gave us more information.

Gemera has collected around $104k so far, you can check current status of sell at dashboard.gemera.io

I really wish they reach enough to get the project going.
6698  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin bring an end to Paypal? on: October 20, 2018, 02:54:16 AM
No because some companies (take freelance companies for example), only support PayPal for payments — unless all of them turn toward crypto it isn't possible.

On many forums, people sell PayPal money for cryptos and viceversa. They will continue to operate in their own ways.

Sylon updates stakes on time, it's just that they are private and made public infrequently. You can pm him to know your position.
6700  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Creating infinite Addresses + Private Keys on: October 19, 2018, 04:48:01 AM
Correct me if am wrong. Don't HD (Hierarchical Deterministic) wallets provide same functionality. Unlimited addresses and private keys can be generated upon one master seed.
