6681  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: *** GHash.IO mining pool official page *** on: June 14, 2014, 12:19:15 AM
cex has zero incentive to give up any hashrate considering it's their main profit now (fees from trades within their system)  Why do you think they have a 0% pool in the first place?

The hashrate they employ for the Gh/s traded on CEX is not the problem. Many miners unrelated to their services choose their pool to mine and that's contributes causes the majority of their pools hashrate. It's because people choose to mine there that it has all this hashpower, not because they are using half of the asics in this planet.

Aw, poor aussies. They had so many good chances Chile scored in the +4 minuted after the 90 minute mark to make it 3-1.

The Netherlands scored again. Starting to think they're going to be the winners this year. At least they'll come close.  Cool

You should maybe post more information about this. Like what the phone's condition is, if it's used etc.

Nice one! How much was the original bet and what was the multiplier? I'm pretty sure this kind of bet would've had some sort of a high multiplier.
6689  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do You smoke? tobacco/weed on: June 13, 2014, 03:43:56 PM
I don't smoke but I can stand people who do it. It's so common here.

Have a look at this graph at Wikipedia.

2795 ciggarets per adult per year! And keep in mind that many underage people also smoke here.

6691  Economy / Economics / Re: Silkroad seized bitcoins to impact price? on: June 13, 2014, 03:26:44 PM
Actually this could be the main reason that the price plunged today.  Roll Eyes

It's a good thing that they released the coins through a bidding. Selling them in an other way would have been harder for them also. But no buyer was prohibited to dump the coins as soon as he got them. Besides thet, the news went mainstream. Eventhough the bidding couldn't have a direct impact on the price maybe some holders could have decided that now it's the time to sell because of the news.
6692  Local / Ελληνικά (Greek) / Η μητέρα μου χρειάζεται αίμα. on: June 13, 2014, 03:21:56 PM

Smiley

League of Legends is so popular here where I live. I guess people play it for a reason. It seems like a fun game to be honest.
6694  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: It is now 51% on: June 13, 2014, 01:05:31 PM
if Ghash hits 51% its not gonna be good guys.
The split will cause big chaos and probably negative effects will happen to bitcoin.

It already hit 51% once today. Doesn't seem like they were preparing for an attack. A modified client would need to be used in order to take advantage of having more than 50% of the hashpower against the network. It doesn't seem likely that a big company like them would want to do this to themselves. Atleast that's what some people've been saying.
6695  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: It is now 51% on: June 13, 2014, 12:55:04 PM
I'm pretty sure much of the "unknown" section is ghash also - they're just not signing all their blocks. Dodgy f*ckers.

They've always been showcasing their power. People only take seriously blockchain.info when it comes to seeing where the hashrate comes from and this bugs me.
6696  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's already 48%, No one care about Ghash? on: June 13, 2014, 12:51:29 PM
Since double spend affect only transactions, merchant could require more confirmation (like one business day) to make double spend almost impossible.

All the merchants using bitcoin payment processors are already protected. I think that a double spend attack could only affect someone small that deals with a probably volume of transactions. Everyone with a large volume of transactions towards them has gone through the proccess to protect their payments againsts 0 confirmation transactions. ANd besides that, it's not that of an easy proccess to do a double spending attack.
6697  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: GHash.IO is standing at 50% on: June 13, 2014, 12:35:55 PM
Have they started double spending yet?

you cannot automatically double spend just by holding 51%. you have to have code that allows it, meaning that they have to intentionally change the rules to allow it.

a 51% attack = 51% dominance + intent to attack.

many believe GHASH has no intent to shoot themselves in the foot by doing anything nasty

So Ghash are just securing/gaurding the network against other malicious attackers

Some suspicious double spend attacks were recorded lately but we can't tell if it was them for sure. But it doesn't really seem like this is causing large scale problems so far.

What can I do when other pools just don't work, Deepbit is the best and that's why the situation is like this,

Aaaaah good old days.

That's what ineffective competition leads too. Some people are just bashing ghash for being too good.
6700  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: GHash.IO is standing at 50% on: June 13, 2014, 12:26:34 PM
It's too bad that other pools can't compete with Ghash.io

I don't think that it's the people's fault. It's an open market and they're providing a better service. No matter if you like it or not, that's the way it is. Because besides all the bad things being heard about them. It's obvius that there has been much work put into their service.
