So what's the plan guys? If Grin works out well, bitcoin devs shove all that tech onto bitcoin?
https://github.com/mimblewimble/grin/blob/master/doc/grin4bitcoiners.md

I don’t know that you could port Bitcoin onto Grin. So it is a threat.

But their monetary policy is fuxxed.  Big mistake having an endless emissions.  Same trap Monero fell into.

So that significantly reduces the threat.

No that is untrue, an emission is a necessity for a currency that's goal is use and low volatility for a plethora of reasons while a cap is good for a SOV which Btc is.

breaking news: tomorrow is wednesday Roll Eyes

Fuck you are right! I don't even know what day I live in.

Thx!

My GF use to remind me those things, but she's on travel.

Right there with you, a few months ago I thought Thursday night football was on when it was Monday night. Everyone found that amusing but I was a bit disturbed that I was that far off. Smiley

ETH's "valid use case" today is it's facilitation of scams (including ICOs), so whether we like it or not, ETH has a "valid" (even though scam dependent) "today use case," no?

Sorry but no. To facilitate scams is not a value-add purpose for existing. That's total bullshit.

Unfortunately there are alot of scumbags that find value in a sca coin and therefore give the shitcoin ETH chain actual value. But it is crumbling under it's own weight so it will be fun to watch it grind to a halt and see all those tokens continue off a cliff. The ICO train has already slowed to a crawl, which is nice to finally see.

But just because we don't feel it has value does not mean it doesn't to others even if their use case is being a thief. It's pretty much the same use case as a brick and mortor financial institution, only they can always continue expanding.

In the past hacks and exit scams have sometimes had an effect on the XMR price.

https://www.coindesk.com/new-zealand-crypto-exchange-cryptopia-goes-offline-citing-major-hack

I'm surprised it took them this long to exit scam.

Anybody who brings up race-based conspiracies in a bitcoin forum earns a permanent spot on my Ignore list.
How about biology? Is biology okay?

Do you mean biology-based conspiracies or just biology as a general term?
I don't know what you think a conspiracy is.

Anything on Youtube that involves gay frog man

I am sorely tempted but seriously afraid to search that now.

If I were to say "buy silver" then would my post be deleted for being off topic in that same thread?

In the Bitcoin Technical Support board? Most definitely.

Was that a poor analogy? Smiley

@Searing - If you didn’t sell at $19,000, didn’t sell at $15,000, didn’t sell at $10,000, didn’t sell around $5,000 then why the fuck would you sell at $3,000?

Unless you HODL the fiat in an account & think you can double your bitcoin’s if we fall to $1,500 or something stupid then selling at $3,000 seems so stupid.

You’ve only got to wait a few years & we’ll likely see a new ATH.

Come on man, you’re a bitcoin OG. Start acting like one.

Peace  Smiley

Found this...I am more lucky than I am smart.

OTC Buying Pressure Increases
How can OTC figures be verified? It would be nice to see them listed, although I'm sure they would be as fake as the exchanges are.
They can't really be verified unless you're a member of one of the sites. The sales figures will be a lot less fake, because of escrow/lawyers/basically many eyes seeing a transaction. What is a bit fake is the orders here^. Not all of them will be filled and they can linger on from week to week, as you can kind of work out.

thanks for that, +1 WO for you sir!

OTC Buying Pressure Increases

https://www.cryptoglobe.com/latest/2019/01/the-week-bitcoin-otc-volumes-up-bitwise-etf-bitmain-appoints-new-ceo/

"Buying pressure has reportedly increased at many notable OTC crypto trading desks. One of the largest OTC traders, Cumberland, tweeted that the imbalance between buyers and sellers spiked by 60% over the last week. Galaxy Digital saw robust buy back from asset managers, who previously sold assets for tax purposes. The nature of most of Paxos’ trading activity this year was buy tickets from emerging markets traders. Circle’s OTC desk saw a “come back” in January after elevated sell pressure in December. Genesis OTC volume is up by 50% year-on-year. According to a director of the fintech research firm Tabb Group, Monica Summerville, the OTC market is about two to three times larger than trading activity across the whole of the retail exchanges."

How can OTC figures be verified? It would be nice to see them listed, although I'm sure they would be as fake as the exchanges are.

When I was younger I was able to sleep in the middle of a death metal concert. Now at my middle age, I can't stand a slightest noise. Not just while I sleep but also when I am awake. Sometimes I just want to strangle the people who talk way too loudly. I want to shout at their faces "SHUT THE FUCK UP!"

Btw I bought some more today. Wink

I was playing poker one day and James Woods looks at the guy next to him and says "Why don't you just shut the fuck up!". LOL,
The guy was a real bitch to listen too all day. Smiley

What's the saying? Oh yeah. The market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent.

Unfortunately, this is usually true.

Don't you think infinite supply will play role of pressure element on he price of coin ? There is lot of hype before the launch of this coin what is scheduled in two days now. I hope they will be much more careful with security and safety as first impression will be the last. We saw what happens with Beam with vulnerability. These are the two coins succeeded to get attention of everyone in very short time.

Beam is a money grab, tail emission is a design decision of a solid currency.
It doesn't matter if the pump and dumper can't make cake, its not designed for that so if the tail emission scares you then don't use this coin.

If someone so busy he can't spend 5 sec to look on the hashrate charts, I will help you.

Monero hashrate is lower now than it was 3 month before. Stop panic (of fud).

https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/monero-hashrate.html#6m

Going to the one year will make it even more obvious, yet it's nice to see so many n00b accounts appearing that are so concerned with the coins well being.
Might be time to buy, oh wait I never stopped.

Actually EOS is where it is at. Centralized blacklisting of addresses is exactly where we want to be.

Isn't coinbase blacklisting coins?
Ahh, here we go. It starts with these guys and it will be blackilisted for missing a court payment by 2025.

Meh, a business can refuse to do business with someone for "reasons" except in regards to race in the US. Just like a certain cake maker in Colorado doesn't have to make me a wedding cake. AFAIK, Coinbase doesn't have undue influence on actually preventing miners from including transactions in blocks.
However, in EOS, the block producers definitely believe putting together blacklists is the way to go. https://news.bitcoin.com/eos-decentralization-questioned-as-block-producers-freeze-accounts/

Fuck these KYC portals, we need better choices.
