One of the worst search engines is Google search engine and so also are the other search engines belonging to those big companies like Microsoft and Apple, there are better search engines to use which are called privacy search engines.

The recommended search engines:
  • Duckduckgo
  • Qwant

Making use of ad blocker will also help, it is also good to make use of anti-malware, but stop using Google search engine will really help against this scam ad links.
6682  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Fake air drop] Endorsit on: May 06, 2021, 05:44:56 PM
It is really good for bringing this up here. I remember the time I joined one airdrop bot on telegram, the first airdrop I wanted to claim required VIP fee to be paid, I have registered on Bitcointalk before that time and I have known little about such airdrop to be scam. This scam airdrop is like the same like that, if any person pay into the stable coin addresses, the coin is just as gone as forever and can not be recovered back.
6683  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: blockchain.com hacked. I need a bit of light shared please on: May 06, 2021, 01:30:16 PM
Leaving such huge amount on hot wallet is not a good idea, hardware wallet should be used for huge amount like that, I will even advice anyone having more than $500 worth of bitcoin to use hardware wallet, or if the person know how to handle other offline wallet, they can be recommended also.

Hot wallets are not secure like offline wallets, but web wallet like blockchain.com are most vulnerable type of hot wallet because it is a web wallet, web wallets are not even recommended at all. There are many complains of coin lost on blockchain.com wallet, you need to transfer you fund immediately.

Download electrum wallet immediately
[GUIDE] How to Safely Download and Verify Electrum [Guide]

Create a new electrum wallet and transfer the remaining funds there.

You will need to buy hardware wallet, or make use of offline wallet. I will recommend Trezor (open source) or Ledger Nano (close source). If you buy Trezor, make sure you use passphrase, and do proper backup because if the seed phrase and passphrase are lost, you will lose your funds. If you do not use passphrase, be careful for thieves not to steal your Trezor because they can be able to know your seed phrase, but the passphrase in this case will help you to generate another keys and addresses entirely, this will make it the type of attack impossible.

Make sure you buy from legit reseller, but buying directly from the official hardware company is recommended. You will have to transfer the fund from electrum to hardware wallet. And make sure you protect your wallet.

The transactions with the above txid have been confirmed already. It can be due to hackers that are able to use malware to steal from your devices or someone get access to your phone to steal it. Make sure you are using password or pin to access your wallet.
6684  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin be hijacked by world billionaires??? on: May 06, 2021, 12:39:42 PM
Bitcoin is not working that way since the start of its adoption, it is getting adopted by people all over the world, although the people that have first invested are gaining more. Your question about Tesla, I do not think the company is try to hold Bitcoin, Elon Musk has his own personal Bitcoin holdings, and he is not selling that yet, but Tesla Motors as a company are accepting bitcoin as a payment method for car purchase, and I do not think the company is ready to hold Bitcoin like some people will think.

Tesla Motors sold a portion of its Bitcoin (BTC) holdings in the first quarter of 2021, generating net proceeds of $272 million, the electric vehicle maker reported Monday.
This was April 26th news.
6685  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unban Bitcoin in pakistan on: May 06, 2021, 11:31:39 AM
If there are effects, it would be local effects, in your nation first. Then, if your nation has a big role and effect, it will in turn affect the global market. I don't know much about your nation but it seems that your nation does not have big communities for Bitcoin & crypto.
It is not about local or international effect, Pakistan is not a country like USA or China that have the economic power, if cryptocurrencies is legalized in China today, the price of cryptocurrencies will increase just because of how China is, also if bitcoin is banned in USA today, the price of each coins will reduce.

But in countries like Pakistan, what you need to know is about their interest in cryptocurrencies, also about the recent crypto trading volume in the country. Cryptocurrencies were banned in country like Nigeria, but no reduction in trading volume in the country, other countries do not even care, and crypto prices were not that affect at all.

Are Pakistanis still trading after the ban should be the question, if they are trading just like Nigeria are still trading crypto after the ban, the price may not really be affected immediately. Also with how the country is, I do not think if crypto are legalized in the country will result to any significant effect on bitcoin price.

I remembered when India legalized crypto, not long that South Korea also legalized it within the same week, but crypto prices were not affected positively at the time, which can be a sign that the citizens were even trading cryptocurrencies during the ban.
6686  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to add a segwit address to blockchain.com? on: May 06, 2021, 11:01:00 AM
[GUIDE] How to Safely Download and Verify Electrum [Guide]

There are two ways you can achieve your aim, but it depends on the one you prefer.

The first has been suggested already above. You can sweep the private key into a newly generated electrum wallet which is segwit by default with the latest version (version 4.1.2).

Note that:
  • transaction fee will be required during sweeping
  • the private key of the coin sweeped is not included among the private key of the electrum wallet, the coin will be sweeped into an address on the electrum wallet which will be stored on blockchain

I will also suggest sweeping because hierarchical deterministic (HD) wallet will be generated in which the coin is transfered to one of the addresses on the HD wallet.

The second is about importing the private key directly into electrum wallet, this can be the best option if you have many private keys you want to import because no fee is required, but no HD wallet is generated, only the wallet releted to the private keys imported will be generated, which means is it not HD wallet but only the addresses of the private key imported that will be generated. After successful importation, the wallet will synchronize with the blockchain and show you your bitcoin balance.

Importing your private keys into Electrum

I do no think Pakistani government are strict against crypto ban, or lately not strict against crypto ban, there should be ways the citizens of the country can trade bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies, like p2p trading. I live in Nigeria, although it is our CBN that ban cryptocurrencies, but that does not stop us from trading, the crypto volume trading in Nigeria never declined after the CBN ban.

Cryptocurrencies would be used now in your country, even with the government that have now realized the need to unban it. Be safe while dealing with cryptocurrencies. With what I have checked about Pakistani crypto legalization, the country may legalize cryptocurrencies this year.

Cryptocurrencies including bitcoin are not officially regulated in Pakistan, however, it's not illegal or banned. As of 16 January 2021, the State Bank of Pakistan has not authorized any individuals or organizations to carry out the sale, purchase, exchange, and investment of virtual currencies, coins, and tokens.

Both mining and trading in cryptocurrencies currently exists in a legal grey area in Pakistan, though, and federal authorities would have to provide a clear path towards legalizing the sector before it could be formally opened to investors.

According to the news, it was even in United States alone that over 4100 death were recorded, that means more death would be recorded in the world generally. I even thought the blood clotting adverse effect which was reported not common did not lead to death, thinking it will be impossible for few people not to die among millions of people given the vaccine. Although, not all will be linked to the vaccine.

Quote
A review of available clinical information, including death certificates, autopsy, and medical records has not established a causal link to COVID-19 vaccines. However, recent reports indicate a plausible causal relationship between the J&J/Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine and a rare and serious adverse event—blood clots with low platelets—which has caused deaths.
It will really be interesting to know if the blood clotting caused by the vaccine is the reason for some or most of the infrequent death or not, this now makes me to be afraid of taking any of the vaccine.

I hope this will pass enough message across.

Quote
A brewing storm over sensitive allegations unveiling Isa Pantami, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, as a fervent supporter of extremist Islamist sects, who preached their violent cause should not be overlooked. The minister is under fire for vociferously espousing the violent Jihadist narrative of al-Qaeda and the Taliban before he was appointed minister by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).

Quote
Essentially, Pantami’s past is catching up with him. Although he claims that he has “repented” of his Salafist ideology, his violent preaching of those days is damagingly chilling. Among other things, he said, “Oh God, give victory to the Taliban and to al-Qaeda,” and, “This jihad is an obligation for every single believer, especially in Nigeria.”

Quote
In 2012, Goodluck Jonathan, the President, claimed that sympathisers of Boko Haram had infiltrated his government. “Some of them are in the executive arm of government, some of them are in the parliamentary/legislative arm of government, while some of them are even in the judiciary…Some are also in the armed forces, the police and other security agencies,” he had said.

Or better yet have a practice to separate our crypto related emails, and other personal emails or throw away emails. So that when we received an email to our crypto related account, that is a red flag already and should be deleted at once.
You are right, but not only crypto users can receive phishing email messages, it can happen to any other email accounts, users data on online platforms can be breached at anytime by hackers which is frequent these days,. Also some people like giving their emails to online platforms in which not even caring knowing if their data are protected or not. For maximum protection against such phishing attack, we need to limit the information we share online and yet not clicking on links on email messages we do not authorized for, but as for me, I do not even open such email message at all.

And there could be people who can fall for this trick, maybe some will open and then they become the next victim here.
Yes, some people can fall for this type of online attack, that is why it is good to only click on email messages you authorized for. We all at one point in time gave out email for certain reasons online, data breach can be from anywhere.
6691  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [POLL] Do vaccines kill people? on: May 06, 2021, 04:09:32 AM
I must say I have some doubts about this statement. Let's have a quick vote and set the record straight. Obviously only vaccinated people can vote because we can trust only first-hand experiences. So if you have been vaccinated please let us know if you're still alive or not.
I think other people should vote also, people that have heard cases of death after vaccination. People that have died after receiving vaccination will not be able to vote.

But I have not heard any record of death than some vaccine adverse effect like blood clotting.

Edit:
Over 250 million people have been vaccinated, even if no vaccine is given to any of them and they are not having the virus, what guarantee that few people will not still die without having the virus and without receiving the vaccine.

So far, more than 268 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered around the world.
6692  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When you heard about Bitcoin vs. When you first used Bitcoin on: May 06, 2021, 03:43:41 AM
I first knew about bitcoin when I got my first laptop, that was definitely in 2013, I can use it to purchase game on the window OS HP laptop, but I did not know truely bitcoin was money at the time. I knew bitcoin to be money in 2017 but did not have it in mind to purchase one until a scammer wanted to use it to scam me on Facebook messager in four quarter of 2019. I later had to browsed about it, know about it to actually noticed I have missed a alot. I have not bought bitcoin before, I worked for it.
6693  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Don't ever quit your job to trade crypto. on: May 05, 2021, 11:31:25 PM
Trading generally is risky, be it crypto, forex or stocks. You are right but I have different opinion on this. The only time best for someone to quit his/her job is not when crypto trading is sufficient for living because trading is risky, but the time when the person has already established a business that can also be another means of earning income which is not risky like trading. With this, the trader will have quality mindset to trade. Although, some people are basically traders and they are earning incomes, but not for everyone because trading is risky.

6695  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: {Warning}: New Panda Stealer Targets Cryptocurrency Wallets on: May 05, 2021, 10:16:11 PM
Not even an email but spam email, that means some people will still go ahead checking spam messages when not authorized to receive an email message. To be on the safe side, it is better to even see many email messages included as spam messages because there are some that can lead to phishing attempts or contain malacious links just like you mentioned. I only click on links that I authorized for because I do not trust any other link. People can be so ridiculous, because of ignorance and greed.
6696  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Mycoinchain.com- Stay away! on: May 05, 2021, 06:31:21 PM
If you need a decentralized exchange, you can try bsiq, if you need no kyc exchange, that are centralized, that will be hard because kyc can demanded from you at anytime, also the government in the country such centralized exchanges are located can force the exchanges to make kyc mandatory on their users.

Before making use of any exchange, try to check if the exchange are existing on Coinmarketcap or Coingecko, there you will see lists of legit exchanges, but also still be very careful of exchanges listed on the platforms by making further researches.

6698  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Merit] Hey Newbies! Can You Sign A Message? on: May 05, 2021, 01:24:02 PM
I think something is better than nothing.. you should appreciate the one who is managing and giving this giveaway
What I meant was that only the quality posters will have more merits and rank up, that the poor posters will not. There are some members that would have been known already to be poor posters, I believe this kind of members are not going anywhere. This is just a giveaway which newbies can easily use to learn how to sign a message with bitcoin address. In fact, it is helpful for newbies.
6699  Economy / Economics / Re: How much fiat to reach a million on: May 05, 2021, 09:43:34 AM
I think it is better to make use of the market worth of bitcoin which I believe is what you might be requesting for. The market worth is the market value which is called marketcap.

Market cap = circulating supply * price

1.04 trillion=  18.7 million * $53336

If the price is 1 million instead of $53336

X= 18.7 million * 1 million

X= 18700000000000

X= 18.7 trillion which will be the marketcap.

But know that this is just an assumption, the more the supply, the lesser the price unless more bitcoin is bought which will add to the value.
6700  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: RBF vs CPFP on: May 05, 2021, 12:14:25 AM
Newbies don't have to know the technical stuff behind RBF or CPFP, or anything to that extent. They just need to know how to remedy something like this, which the links in the first reply has covered together with pictorial illustrations.
The first link you are talking about does not contain any pictorial illustration, no image included. Also, the link only covers one aspect of CPFP (while spending unconfirmed transaction), no illustration about how sender can also make use of CPFP. But, it is a very nice article.

  • Sentence is too long. You can make it shorter, always. You think you can not make it shorter, it is not true.
  • Punctuation, conjunction words
  • Writing is different than speaking but they have a common thing: no one want to read or hear if your write too much (unnecessary) or talk-ative. In the other words, such style results in side-effects.
This is highly unnecessary. You do not need to rush while reading for you to understand someone, that article is coherently structured. Also, no need to repeat what has been posted by previous posters which I have tried and corrected. If you still insist, is the first link suggested by ranochigo short for you, or among which you will criticize along.
