I saw that news. It's painful to see this happening. Imagine what the thief could do with this information. It could be for identity theft, terrorism, hacking, and even blackmailing.
I wish current kyc practices is abolished. There are  ico services that are a bit safe. No website should be  allowed to hold people's documents.
6682  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are ICO's Dead? on: January 25, 2019, 01:14:20 PM
Not at all! I agree with you.

It is going through difficulties just like the general crypto space.
It is an excellent way to fund blockchain projects. Just that there aren't much great projects to fund these days. Great ones will come once in a while though.

I hope that in the future it will be extremely difficult for scams or substandard projects to attempt raising funds.

I wish you all the best!
6683  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ico fund raising on: January 25, 2019, 12:55:36 PM
Satoshi did not raise funds. Bitcoin was mostly developed  by the small community of developers back then and it was mined by the community in a fair manner unlike what is obtainable today.
It was a true community driven project.
6684  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The reasons for Satoshi's anonymity? on: January 25, 2019, 12:39:55 PM
It is surprising really. It's baffling how an inventor who should be proud of his work would hide his identity. unless he knew Bitcoin was going to be a success and provoke the authority.
So called incredible amounts of Bitcoin owned by him worth little then. He deserves it. Saving takes a lot sacrifice and discipline.
6685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mistake you should avoid when holding your Altcoins on: January 25, 2019, 08:42:57 AM
People should still hold what is worth holding,  maybe sell some and hold some.. . it's a matter of principle to be honest, it's a bit fulfilling to hold good project especially in the good old days when people were sure good projects will rise in value.
6686  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Addiction Stories and Possible Solutions on: January 25, 2019, 07:43:36 AM
Such a case of chronic addiction. He probably is a wealthy gamblers who had nothing better spend his money on. I wonder how people like that would handle the situation if they end up not winning.
6687  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Nobody wins in gambling anyway on: January 25, 2019, 07:21:37 AM
People actually win. I have heard of credible cases of people winning lots of money. Though I have never been lucky with this things I seen my younger ones win a lot of times while we were young. Maybe because he played more than I did.

Nice thread.
I think the top address [ https://etherscan.io/address/0xab5801a7d398351b8be11c439e05c5b3259aec9b ] is his confirmed stash.
Guess he deserves it? It is part of the things that can motivate developers to hold and work hard for the interest of the coin.
6689  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin ever exist in currency notes? on: January 24, 2019, 12:45:18 PM
This won't be necessary when cash is banned and when we begin to buy and sell without physical currencies.
No true physical Bitcoin or Bitcoin note exists as far as am I know. They all still depend on Internet/satellites
6690  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin collapse by a global government crackdown? on: January 24, 2019, 11:55:53 AM
Imagine if ancient authorities had crack down on gold/precious metal ownership. they would have been seen as evil tyrants, right?     If everyone is lukewarm global crackdown of anything will become a norm in the future.
Well ,I think they will eventually control this things , not ban them totally. It is just matter of time.
6691  Economy / Economics / Re: thinking of selling or investing more. on: January 24, 2019, 11:44:09 AM
You could day trade if you want to be adventurous.  It  riskier to wait for the market to rise In my opinion. Simply buy low and sell high can be rewarding sometimes. It is possible to increase your current by 50 in a week or less.

But remember not to trade with what you cannot afford to lose.
6692  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should countries accept coins at governmental level? on: January 24, 2019, 04:29:36 AM
I do not think it is necessary for authorities to be involved  else cryptocurrency will end up being controlled and centralized. Institutions have no business running money. The blockchain is doing this already... Nobody cares if they choose to Regulate the Merchants. Money should exist without interference.
6693  Economy / Gambling / Re: Kryptium - A truly decentralised, community-powered betting platform on: January 24, 2019, 03:48:04 AM
Eos could be a good alternative for this sort of thing. It has lots of active games and betting based Dapps.

No need blaming op for building his stuff on ethereum afterall it is an open blockchain.
6694  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to choose a good casino among the many others? on: January 24, 2019, 03:42:31 AM
Interesting answers. I read long time ago that open source software is better for transparency.
I am new to this. Hopefully I will play one myself someday.
6695  Economy / Economics / Re: If you had 10000$ on: January 23, 2019, 08:30:53 PM
Just trade with what you can afford to lose and you will be fine. Trading can be fun if you know what you are doing and always stick to the rules. Sometimes we get too comfortable with our achievement that we end up making  costly mistake that leads us to our financial ruin.
6696  Economy / Economics / Re: Russia Prepares To Buy Up To $10 Billion In Bitcoin To Evade US Sanctions on: January 23, 2019, 07:25:13 PM
This would be interesting considering that Bitcoin has become fairly stable for quite some time now. Will it affect the price positively or negatively.

Well, I guess more governments coming into the scene could further strengthen the stability.

Few days ago (12th to be precised) I transferred some coins from Binance to Cryptopia because I couldn't trade on Binance anymore then the following day (13th) cryptopia went offline. Something tells me it has been hacked.
