6701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitCoin Is Too Complicated for Average People! on: November 03, 2017, 06:16:43 PM
Well, I think it is indeed too much complicated and harder to use, you have to have knowledge about how it works on internet. You have to make an account, buy bitcoin from different sites ( which takes 5% to 7% Fees) then transfer to exchanges for trading or to use.

How can a normal people, who usually watch youtube video, use fb or other social media, you expect him/her to know all these things? I seen people give up easily, and think it's too techy.

I believe if Bitcoin sell coins on their official website, with lower fees, such as 1% to 2%, and make  a simple wallet for people to use, more & more people would buy and use it.
What is your opinion on it? discuss..

When you use Bank or Online banking, If you have any problem, you can actually go to branch or call the customer service fix the problem, Bitcoin have no phone number, no branch, no one to contact if anything goes wrong.

The desktop wallet are too complicated to use, it has some weird functionality, such as MEW, every time you login, you have to use key chain, or a file as your private key and password, when you get a get it doesn't not show on your account, you actually have to add custom, which is really confusing sometimes. And i always hear people ger hacked, their balanced is gone. which is really scary after all these security in your wallet? strange!

Bitcoin does not have their own official site, so lots of people visit other junk/spam/hacking site, think it is bitcoin site and can get help.

It's really hard to buy bitcoin in certain country, such as Canada. Yes i know you can buy from coin base, but they do not allow more than $100 bitcoin per week, and we are not allowed to sell. Lots of people other thread offered local bitcoin, but when bitcoin price is $6800, they sell it on $7800, That's $1000 extra plus 5% fees of the amount. Why people have to pay that much money extra to buy bitcoin? why don't they have an official site, where you can buy in current price?

Why most of the exchange does not allow you to buy bitcoin with USD? 99% time you have to transfer money to exchange to do trading or to buy alt coin, which is really a headache. So you tell me, all these problem, why would a normal average people, who doesn't have enough time will invest bitcoin or any other coin? This is rea reason i believe we see the market cap in crypto currency under $200 billion. If it was easy to use, for normal people it would have jump to Trillion dollar.
People would normally leave the discussion when they do hear of things that is new to their ears and if they are not techy person then high chance that they wont really bother at all to listen but for those people who don't have much idea but really eager to learn up then theres a lot of ways.Buying bitcoin isn't really hard at all. Worrying on buying because of limitations? Then try to make some verifications to increase limits,as simple as that. If people is really interested to bitcoin then there would be no hard thing along the way.If lots of people make it,then why they cant?
6702  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Time to Bear the Loss? on: November 03, 2017, 05:13:00 PM
People who bought altcoins with their bitcoins are in a deep and huge loss due to the rise of bitcoin value, there are possible two options for them now, either keep holding their alts and hope that one day they would be able to recover if the alts pump, but with this option, the time invested could be too much.
Second option would be to sell the alts and bear the loss, of course with this option they will get back a very small percentage of the initial bitcoin investment, but there would be a possibility to invest in other coins and maybe recover their loss, or even just keep holding their left bitcoin and in time of course, its USD value be enough to overcome the loss.

What do you think about these option? Are you in this situation too? What do you plan to do about it?
This thing would really depend on a certain altcoin holder if he would decide to cut loss and put some remaining funds on bitcoin. For me cutting loses on my altcoins wont really happen since I would rather decide to hold it up until it recover than on selling them on cheap.I cant bear the loss because if we do see the price decrease % on most alts as of now they are really on some serious price decrease. If you do have weak hands they youll end up on selling and also you cant be sure if you would able to break even if you do decide to move funds on bitcoin in usd basis.
6703  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Why Crypto Detective Agency is started? on: November 03, 2017, 04:16:58 PM
Crypto Detective Agency, is it some kind of government agency and what are they created for? Is it only for Russia or is it spread worldwide?

I don't quite seems to understand to question here. Are you trying to say that government is putting up a arm just for crypto? The only thing that I know is that the US is trying to look for people who are hiding behind bitcoin for now paying their tax, however, its the IRS and I'm not sure if IRS has created its own department just to chase them. As far as Russia goes, I'm not also familiar, maybe you can post the link here so that we can see it for ourselves. There are already a lot of company who specialize on this, but this is private companies.
Asking the same thing too which we would really need a link regarding on this thing.Ive known some private department but not on Russia.I can say that they are really just wasting up their time on searching for those people who do evade tax even if it do live or residing on the country they cant even traced it for sure but they would rather focus on checking alone on the services being used which do have in relation on cryptocurrencies. The common reason why this thing has started because they do really to traced up not only on tax evaders but also to those who do make crime and illegal transactions but I would bet that they do really have a hard time.
6704  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Coinnnnn.com - Feedback please on: November 03, 2017, 02:14:20 PM
Call me old-fashioned, but I liek it much better when there's a clear graph with everything on the X and Y axis defined.
I also just don't like the design of the graph you currently have, way too simplistic and bombastic for me.

Also, the design of all of the information under the graph is a bit too underwhelming, everything is just plain black, the text/title size and spacing seems a bit off to me.

It's a good start, but you really need to upgrade the overall look and feel.
Same observations and opinion on the site but its not really bad either but its too way simple and I don't really like too much the size either on the chart or on the size of the Text showing up the price.I do still appreciate the effort made by Op but there still lots of time to develop and make some changes to the site which would possibly make some popularity later on.  Goodluck
6705  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is Coinbase Vault safe ? on: November 03, 2017, 08:26:14 AM
Hi all,

Is Coinbase vault safe ? I know I would not be In control of the private keys but are they a respected enough company, and I would prefer to hold my bitcoin with them so I don't need to have the hassle making a paper wallet etc... also I have instant access to spend the bitcoin if I wanted with Coinbase.

This is what they say on their website : https://support.coinbase.com/customer/portal/articles/1662379-how-is-coinbase-insured-

Do any of you store BTC in their vault ?

Thank s

Storing bitcoin on any exchange do really have always the risk and I cant say that it would really be safe even though I has being kept on their vault.Im not against on coinbase but yet it is more confident to store up those coins on those wallets which you do have the full control or possession of your private keys ex. Electrum as long you didn't able to disclose those private keys of yours of your wallet then I would really consider it much safer than on storing on exchanges since no one would ever know on when they would stop their service or they might being compromised since you don't have the keys then say goodbye to your bitcoins once they do stop.
6706  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Shameless Bittrex fee 0.001 BTC (= 7$ or 6€) on: November 02, 2017, 05:11:20 PM
What a shame.

Today i've made a 0.013 BTC withdrawal from Bittrex and they held 0.001 BTC for themselves.

And many exchanges are following this trend now.
Maybe due to the huge taxes they pay for being regulated?

F*ck regulation and f*ck the gov then.

Now tell me if it does make sense to charge you 6-7 $ for a single transfer when i can send a traditional bank transfer for less than one third of that money.
Are we going backwards now?

It's time that someone opens a serious exchange abroad somewhere that is not subject to taxes, so that exchange fees can be kept low and people are more encouraged to use them.

Or we must find an alternative.
Bittrex would only comes after with C-cex. Do you know how much fee they do take when you do tend to withdraw some BTC to another wallet? You would really need to pay up 0.002 BTC for the fee itself. That's ridiculous. Don't believe me? Try to visit the site and you will see. This is why I did leave that exchange because of the withdrawal fee to high and if you transact small amounts then those fee would really give some pain. Even on Coinbase and other exchange site do commonly charge up high. One thing that boggling my mind why poloniex did sustain to charge up lesser than on those other exchange?
6707  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase Bitcoin transfer fees? on: November 02, 2017, 02:23:11 PM
Found this...

https://support.coinbase.com/customer/en/portal/articles/815435-does-coinbase-pay-miner-fees-?b_id=13521

Quote
Coinbase does not pay the network mining fee on behalf of customers for outgoing digital currency transactions.

The fee you pay for outgoing transactions is calculated dynamically at the time the transaction is created. This means that the fee may be higher or lower depending on the overall transaction volume currently on the digital currency network. The fees are displayed on the send confirmation screen. Please note that no portion of this fee goes to Coinbase.

Would be great to hear from someone whom has sent Bitcoin from Coinbase to another wallet and what it cost in miner fees percent wise please.
There no % because fees are always fixed when you do make transfers of bitcoin on another wallet. As my recent transaction using coinbase ive been charged up by 0.0003 btc = $2 on the current price of bitcoin. It might be high specially for micro transactions which I don't really recommend on using coinbase since you cant able to edit or customize your fee unlike on blockchain and electrum which you can able to change the fees according to your decision.
6708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: newbies on airdrop on: November 02, 2017, 01:09:51 PM
I hope some airdrops who doesn't include newbie because of too much spamming should rrconsider given the amount of hours it is logged in. Coz it shows it is the only account they have.

I'm so sad, because newbie is me😭

Even sadder is the fact that newbies spam so much just for the rank and they believe that it will automaticaly bring them lots of money.
At a quick search you can find out the way this forum up`s the rank and you will realize that spammig will not help. A key factor is how old is the account. So the condtition is min(time, post_count) the time beying 2 weeks *14. So you cand make 100 spam post in one week but you still be a newbie and most probably get a nice BAN. So my advice is to be patient and write only constructive post to help the community grow. An in the meanwhile read and learn
If you do mean on leveling up then it would really require such time for you to rank up if you did able to meet the required potential activity on such account. This is why how those airdrops do give some limitations or restrictions when it comes to required level for you to join. This is the common reason why those company don't really accept newbie not only on airdrops but on most campaigns on this forum.Newbies are restricted because not only on spamming but also on abusing such bounties and other ways on earning money.
6709  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Really high fees? on: November 02, 2017, 09:40:26 AM
I have a little amount in my blockchain.info wallet, but couldn't get out because fees are higher, than my funds. Thanks to forum infos here, I simply can "export" my funds. Will never use blockchain again.
Of courss fees must be paid. That is neccessary, but they are exorbitant on blockchain in my opinion or there is a bug on calculator.
To be honest. Maybe the size of my funds is too high. Will see, what's the issue.

Well the miner fee depends on how large a transaction is as well as the current network condition so most probably yes you just have too many inputs. You can edit your fees manually on blockchain.info so you can ignore their far from accurate fee estimation and edit it manually. If you have too many inputs, use transaction accelerator services like this one https://www.antpool.com/user/prioritiseTransaction.htm?m=savePrioritiseTx, It even accelerated a no miner fee transaction although its not advisable to do the same. Just set your miner fee to a minimum of 10K sats per KB so you can also use viabtc
Fees would not totally depend on how much amount you do transact because if you do send small or big its just the same as long the correspond fee is already met. Sending or free as of these days do really hurts a lot specially for those people who do make micro and active transactions and speaking on blockchain wallet you can eventually edit the fees since the one putted there is the default one but yet if you do accept to wait for longer then you can lower it but don't tend to make it very low if you don't like to stuck for days specially network now is clogging up.
6710  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is driving BTC increase on: November 02, 2017, 05:49:39 AM
So I've been watching the market for a while and keenly watching for about 4 months, what is driving this massive price spike in your opinion? Are you expecting the price to drop dramatically soon? Then another rise? Or are you expecting it to continue this sharp rise for the next month or two?
I'm interested also in BCH too, same questions Smiley

If you did able to observe on past forks then you do already know the answer on this question. If theres a sudden price increase then expect for price corrections later on. Now on the current price the thing that do drives on it is which most people do switching to bitcoin now because of the upcoming segwit2x fork which people do accumulate bitcoin as much as they can to get free BTC 2x after the fork.Have you seen how altcoins being affect? Most of them are on reds now which would somehow justify that investors are converting now.
6711  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How to choose a good ICO ? on: November 01, 2017, 02:42:46 PM
White paper, team, Roadmap
Is it novel?
Is there room for development?
I suppose so.
You did already mention on the things that should really be done before choosing and ico which you should really read up its white paper and the transparency on its developer which this is the primary thing I do check out first when I tend to invest. It is really important to search up first before investing because we do know there are lots of existing scam as of now which its really dangerous if you are really careless on putting your money.
If you do have the money to allocate then just remember on diversifying it and don't put your egg on a single basket.
6712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Closure of NovaExchange - Preliminary plan on: October 31, 2017, 01:06:09 AM
~snip~
Many shitcoins will die for sure which some of those coins aren't being traded on other exchanges.I have used the site on trading shitcoins in the market wayback on previous months and sad to hear at that noveexchange would close their site. This is indeed a good legitimate exchange site and now they do close.I don't even know whats the reason. Is someone do have the links regarding on the issues facing by the site or various reason on such closure?
Luckily I don't have any coins left on the site and already being traded for btc wayback before.
6713  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Authorization IP address is different than what I'm using.. Please HELP! on: October 31, 2017, 12:40:41 AM
The authorization email is showing a different address than mine (says it's from Canada. I'm in US) but when I searched the IP address it's showing the location is within my zip code. (10 blocks away).  I've tried to log on a few times and it keeps showing the same IP add. If anyone can please guide me as to what should I do next, I would really appreciate it!?   And has this happened to anyone else?

1) Go here: https://www.whatismyip.com/

2) Compare the displayed IP address to the IP in the authorization email you get

Is it the same IP address?

Yes it is => Don't worry, you're fine, it was your IP address all along

No it's not => Time to change your passwords
This was I supposed to say check your ip by the use of the site given above sometimes it does give some dynamic ip. The thing here is that it does shows another country which would really be quiet odd if theres an authorization email that shows another IP location. Just come to think off that if you are not requesting such thing on the time of that checking that authorization email then someone do have your password. For now the best move to do is to changed password on that account because someone known already the access.Good thing that email verification stopped him.
6714  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: GPU vs ASIC mining on: October 29, 2017, 07:51:43 PM
hello everyone
so the thing is
with ASIC mining  you can mine one cryptocurrency
GPU can mine multiple
ASIC is heavy to ship (i live in syria so im looking for more than 500$ vat and weight)
thing to consider :
i have free electricity
the ASIC i wish to buy is  s9 or a couple of s7
the GPU i wish to buy is what i can get with 2000$ or a little more

which one to go for ASIC or GPU
what if BTC prise fall down
how much can i make with ASIC in a year considering difficulty
If you do concern on shipping expense then it will really cost you some money and asic are indeed heavy compared on GPU. Concerning profitability then you would really able to cherish out money on bitcoin mining since you do have free electricity but would be more worth it if you do go for medium-large scale mining the thing here is the difficulty do rise up as the days goes by expect for lesser and lesser profits on longer runs. There are mining calculator online which you can able to calculate possible profits on ASIC mining in a year.
6715  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: affected by bitcoin Copy paste viruses on: October 29, 2017, 05:20:25 PM
I didn't even know such type of virus existed  Undecided Thanks mate, for posting this thread.
It really creates an awareness in the common people. All of you should look for such kind of infection in your PCs.
Try to clean you PC with an anti malware program such as MalwareBytes or ZAM (Zamana Anti Malware). It looks like a malware program to me but can be something else too.
It did already exist since last year which this virus or malware do infect your pc and once you do copy your address and paste it and it show different address then your computer is already infected. Lucky for OP he did able to notice such thing but most people who do got victimized on this one did make such mistake on carelessly sending amounts into another wallet address and later on they did realize such mistakes. This is why always check or review on the address you do input. For now my best suggestion is to clean up your pc make a scan of your antivirus. If it still persist then do a complete reformat.
6716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Info for Airdrop on: October 29, 2017, 03:56:34 PM
do we get Airdrop tokens directly into myetherwallet address or do we need to add these tokens by contract address?
Been said above already you would definitely receive those tokens that you do receive on airdrops which they do usually request for ETH wallet address. If you input the right one then expect you would receive if you are eligible and been selected by those owners of such airdrop.Just a friendly reminder or tip. Most newbies do have the common mistake on posting their private keys rather than on their actual ETH wallet. Ive been seeing this stuff all over again this is why be careful on such putting those informations.
6717  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this Forum full of 'normal people' who over the years became filthy rich? on: October 29, 2017, 02:54:03 PM
Invest only the amount you can afford to lose. Otherwise, Bitcoin will destroy your personality.
There are only 2 results ... Bitcoin drops to zero or will be worth $ 1,000,000.

Wait 10 years and you will be "filthy rich" or nothing will change (if you invested only amount, you can afford to lose) :-)
There are less than 500,000 person in the world who own 10 BTC.

There are more millionaires than ever in the United States. As of the end of 2016, there were a record 10.8 million millionaires nationwide, according to a new study from Spectrem Group's Market Insights Report 2017. That's more than ever before and marks a 400,000 person increase from the previous year.
May I know the link where these information can be seen? I cant search where that 500k person in the world who do owns 10 btc. If you do pertain on most rich bitcoin wallet then I would assume that wont be an accurate number because we cant able to tell that those holders do have still the access of such wallets and for sure there are lost bitcoin or wallets on the list so theres still no accurate number on this one but rest assured there are lots of normal people who did become filthy rich because of bitcoin specially on early adopters of it.
6718  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: A university in Vietnam receives tuition fees in bitcoin on: October 29, 2017, 01:58:19 PM
Question: Do Vietnamese universities get a lot of foreign students?

I could see this as extremely useful if there are family members working abroad, earning tons of money overseas.   Best way to send in the tuition bill?  Bitcoin.  Or PayPal, even, but yay bitcoin!!

In my town there are a lot of immigrants from Asia, working at gas stations and owning their business.   I suspect a lot of them are in situations similar to what I just wrote.   Bitcoin is definitely useful in cases like that.  It's the best way to send money without involving a third party.
This is why bitcoin is really useful for OFW or those who do work abroad and do send their remittances directly into their loved ones. This thing is already common and famous now in my country too and its good to hear out that other countries is already using bitcoin now into their education sector which is actually available already on my country which we can able to pay up tuition fees directly from our bitcoin wallet but just only on selected schools only its still fine though because it will gradual increase on the selection of schools available. This kind of thing will surely adopted on some countries too.
6719  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is cryptominermart.com a scam? on: October 28, 2017, 08:55:24 PM
I tried to buy from them but i couldn't, there were some good references about their website and that they were legit. But in the last few days i noticed that a lot of people had bad experiences with them, they are a scam, i think that the first customers were the only who got their miners, but they are obviously doing something illegal.. four bank accounts to send the payment? it is not possible, obviously that there is something weird with that.

I don't think so that those first buyers are real ones or just an another dummy just to show up that the site is legit into the public which  would lure in possible victims on buying their miners since they do see that there are people who did able to purchase on the miners but I do really have doubts already when I read up that they are only accepting bank payments? Seriously? How come a miner site would having that payment options? Why wont they consider bitcoin as a payment? Sounds fishy actually for me.I wont really bothter myself to buy on this site even if I do have the money.
6720  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Need more BTC - buy now or wait a few weeks? on: October 28, 2017, 08:02:28 PM
Have a little more money to invest in crypto. I'm a little anxious to buy now as I speculate there may be a nice pull back on the price post-fork. I'd like to buy some BTC and some alt coins with about half of it.
Worth getting now and getting some B2X or wait til after the fork?
They have teached us to buy into the fatal dips lasting days.
They teached us to not fear the forks, because of free altcoin distribution. Gold, Cash, whatsnot.

Since you said "a little money" where is your risk? Why wait? A more Gung-ho attitude and do it today, since waiting doesn't increase it's value anyways. Remember fiat getting dilluted by central banks on a daily base.
I think that the OP wanted to say he doesn't have a lot of money to spend on investment and that's why it should be done in the best possible way.
OP, I think it is better to wait for a couple of weeks. The price always falls down at some point. I don't think it will fall more than 15% though, so if this is not much for you according to your budget then feel free to invest right now.
IMO, BTC price will rise nearer to the fork. I will buy now if I were you.
It has already grown due to btg fork, I don't think people will really do the same thing again. I don't like this price growings being related to forks.. I guess it's a substitute for what eth and neo have with icos. It's a factor which may lead to even more unstable prices than we are used to.
15% dipdown on price is hard to see as of but yet its possible. If we do try to see on after Bitcoin gold event we did see price pullbacks and for those who did enter on those pullbacks did able to make money as of now but yet we are not still hitting $6k price as of now yet which means its not really too late to buy some bitcoin for this upcoming fork. Price will possibly shoot up and might hit $6500 price but isn't still sure since no one could able to predict on what would happen on this upcoming fork.If you can handle the risk on buying now then its still a good move after all.
